This is my first time hearing about, when I hear the word, I think of K A V A which is not the same thing. They serve great food here. I had the chicken and it was good. We were not familiar with Cava when we came for dinner but the staff was patient with our group of 6. After the first wrap had sauces added (because they were part of the recipe) I watched and told them what we wanted. You can customize or have items on the side as needed. A big amount of food, so I prefer the bowls for reheating. Wraps are harder to eat later since they got soggy. Drinks were really good - huge selection of different lemonades and other drinks to choose from. It was DC in a heat wave so we refilled a LOT and no issues. In fact, one of the workers suggested his favorite mix of drinks and it was wonderful! Looking forward to going to another location and trying the food again with more knowledge of how it works. Came to visit my daughter who lives minutes away from the locations. When you come in your greeted by the entire staff as you walk down to get all your ingredients. The entire bowl is fresh, the rice was perfect, the lettuce fresh, the corn was so delicious. I got the regular falafel. The gentleman offered a piece of the spicy Mc he said it's good if you like to try. I love when you get this type of service. I always ask employees what's their favorite because I know they know the best. I finished my salad with some fresh avocado. I was offered dressing and I asked to put on the side. I absolutely LOVE cava! The staff here is hit or miss but I get the feeling it's not their fault! Sometimes I can tell they're short staffed and it gets busy but they always handle it with grace. I usually order from Uber eats and they are usually ON POINT with my order! I love this location. It's usually clean and never too much going on. They're usually always stocked and have everything on the menu available. I haven't had the chance to dine in yet but I'm sure it'd be a chill experience. Definitely going back! We had some fried chicken for lunch and desperately needed to eat a vegetable. We decided to get cava and it was just the refreshing dinner we needed! We got two bowls with the honey chicken and lamb meatball and both were delicious. I don't usually like lentils but the ones in our bowl were pretty good. All the vegetables were fresh and refreshing! We got the tzatziki sauce, red pepper, and my favorite-the eggplant! Everything was good, I only wish there was more chicken in my bowl. Healthy, hardy bowls and if you add the garlic dressing it's super flavorful! I never sit and eat. Always take out/deliver. I usually create my own bowl: half mixed greens half blackened lentils, pickled onions, onions and tomatoes, tzakiki saice (2 servings) and hummus (classic, 1 serving) with the garlic sauce (so good!) and avocado. I also do half falafel and half chicken. Sometimes I order one of these custom bowls with avocado and second one without, so I can eat the second one the next day. Pop it in the fridge and still good early the next day. This location (and most locations) are clean, fast and friendly! My custom bowls come out to about $17 each. On the expense side as far as quick food but healthy wholesome ingredients!! I am a fan of cava! read more

When I got the package it was wide open with no sign it was ever sealed. I don't eat food that is delivered without a tamper resistant seal so this is a waste. We go to Cava more often than I'd like to admit. I like that I can make different variations of the same bowl and the food is always fresh. My biggest complaint about this location is the variability in what I get. Sometimes the bowl is full, sometimes it's very not full, sometimes in between. Toppings are also always in different quantities. Seems like it's really dependent on who's making your bowl what you get. Regardless, Cava is a relatively inexpensive fast casual option for a healthy meal. read more

This location is the first CAVA in NE DC (not counting the small shop in Union Station) located on the "yuppy" side (if you don't believe me, Whole Foods Market and WeWork are across the street...can't get more yuppy than that) of H Street NE closest to Union Station. It's on the corner of H and 6th St NE and a medium sized shop. There are enough tables and good for groups. You order at the front and can select a suggested bowl or make your own. To get it slightly more healthy, I get the half grain (brown rice) and half green (arugula) bowl. You pick your three sauces (red pepper hummus all the way), your meat (beef meatballs), and all the toppings you like. The finish with a dressing. If you don't give it to you, ask for their warm pita to go with it. Select your drink (craft soda, fresh juices, or bottled water and/or Spindrift). Pay and you're out of there! The restaurant is spacious, and well lit. For those that haven't been here, it's pretty much like a chipotle except Mediterranean food...flavorful, tasty Mediterranean food. You can make rice bowls, pitas, or salads. It can be a little overwhelming just because there's a lot of choices to choose from, but they have names of all the dips and proteins next to the actual item. WOW! What a treat! I had a question about the ingredients and the manager, Antonio, answered with clarity and outstanding customer service. He showed genuine pride in the quality of the food, and I can see why. The lamb meatballs are made IN HOUSE and are delicious. The veggies are fresh, and the spice and flavor combinations were excellent. The braised lamb was tender. With many other choices in restaurants, I even went back the next night for more. Came in around 2:30pm on a weekday and this place was pretty empty (past the lunch rush) which was perfect for me. This location is right along H street and super accessible by foo, on the trolley, or streets parking nearby. The location is decoration is very minimalistic so it looks super spacious and clean. The staff were professional and helpful. No complaints. As always the food was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the make your own salad bowl with arugula, red pepper hummus, regular hummus, Tzatziki sauce, chicken, Greek cucumbers and tomato toppings, and feta cheese. I also got pita bread on the side along with spicy lime tahini on the side. I would recommend asking to taste the dressings or to order gel on the side if you haven't had hem before. Don't even bothering ordering a free side of pita with your salad through their app. There are TWO ways to order Pita with a salad on their app. One way insures you get it the pita as a free side. The other insures you don't get the pita as a free side. Dozens of orders through the app and I can assure you that their app is FLAWED. Run your own tests using each of the two methods to add a free pita bread as a side to a salad. Oh, sure, they'll give you a credit and another credit and another credit and another credit for the same repeated mistake, but they never fix the problem. You would think they would understand that this is costing them money if not customers. And if it's not the app, it's bad service which is perhaps even worse. Love the place. The only knowledge I've had of CAVA is there wonderful hummus I have consumed in the past. So when I spotted there restaurant across the street from another place I was in, I knew I had to go. The Chipotle of Mediterranean food (that is, not authentic but still good)! I've been to a few of these Mediterranean-style places and this has been my favorite. I ordered a chicken bowl with half splendidgreens mix and saffron rice. I also had the feta, eggplant, and red pepper hummus dips. The feta is interesting in a good way. It grew on me the more I ate it. The eggplant was solid but the red pepper hummus is too sweet for my taste. Also had the yogurt dill dressing on the side--good too. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Portion size was on the larger side--definitely fills you up. To complete the experience, the people here are super friendly!
