Had delicious salad today from Chopt! Healthy, filling and delish. Thank you Chopt!

    Not what I ordered.

Don't get played by Chopt like me. I recently moved offices and now I'm located closer to this location. Previously, Ive had a well documented love/hate relationship with the 12th Street location (see my reviews) all related to online ordering. And this location is no different. There just seems to be no kind of quality assurance for the online orders. See my attached pictures. My order consisted of edamame, spicy jerk chicken, pickled onions, feta cheese, kalamata olives and dried cranberries. No edamame to be found. One small block of feta cheese. One, maybe two pieces of the chicken. A sprinkling of olives and maybe a dusting of cranberries. The food and quality of it has never been an issue - it's the service and quality (or lack thereof) related to what you get when you order online. This is ridiculous! Chopt just doesn't want your salad to be great. Either order in person or just throw your money away.

Where's Waldo? Can you find the 1 shrimp, quinoa, scallions, cucumber, tomato or cilantro that was supposed to be in this salad?
    Tom R.

Chopt as a chain is a good addition to the fast food scene, but this location in particular (like other reviewers here note) seems to have a quality-control problem with online orders. I made a custom salad online for pick-up "With Shrimp, Carrots, Scallions, Egg Whites, Tri-Color Quinoa, Featured: Jicama with Lime, Cucumber & Tomato Salad, Crispy Chickpeas, Cabbage & Cilantro Blend." The order came with one shrimp, light on the multi-colored carrots, no scallions, no tri-color quinoa, no cucumber & tomato salad, and no cilantro. It was good, but not what I ordered, and certainly not the value I paid for.

    10+dollars for this...

I love Chopt, the salads are great and quality is good. HOWEVER, i have done the order and pick up now 3 times and each time my salad has only been filled just over half way! I never have this issue when I'm there going through the line. They fill it with more dressing than normal, way too much protein, it's definitely lacking on greens, it has been very disappointing. I will only order from them now if I go in person, which line is usually crazy. For the amount the salads costs, they should be fully filled!

This place is OK but I prefer the Protein Bar. I have had a couple of different salads here and they were each OK to pretty good tasting. What kind of annoys me about this place is that they ask you if you want something without disclosing the adding cost. Take today for example -- my friend thought one of the options described on a board sounded good. At no point did any of the of folks putting it together for her disclose the added costs and she was surprised when her total was close to $20. Other places with the assembly style menu 1) do a better job at letting you know about the added costs of items and 2) don't seem to have so many additional costs. I don't mind paying extra for something I want when I know about the added charge but I do mind that Chop't does not really disclosure them. I don't want the register to be guessing game. While the salads are good I have a feeling of distrust toward the brand, at least at this location. I have not been to the one of F St in a while but might give it a try just for a comparison.

Washington, D.C. is a tough market for a salad fast casual brand because we have sweetgreen (born and raised in the DMV). However, if you like a little more calories in your salad, go to Chopt over sweetgreen. Chopt caters to those who think they want to eat more healthy. They load up their salads with unhealthy toppings like tortilla chips and heavy, heavy dressing. I ordered the Baja Shrimp salad and it was tasty, but didn't seem healthy. If you want true healthy food, go to sweetgreen and support local.

We grabbed a seat and did not wait long for our food to come out. I really enjoyed my burger and scarfed it down! I paid for sauces, which were tiny and super overpriced. Hubs enjoyed his cheesesteak but he prefers meat. I had a bite and thought it was really flavorful and very closely tasting like the real thing. I noticed later this is a chain, which is pretty cool. I think the prices were pretty steep so I might skip on the fries next time. The food could have been warmer as well. Definitely worth a visit and will most likely be back when in DC again.

We arrived to a line out the door on a Friday night but we only waited around 25 minutes for a table. The seating inside is plentiful and the atmosphere is loud but cozy and fun - family friendly and enjoyable. We enjoyed the most amazing food - Fontina Vodka Penne (with Shrimp), Kale & Romaine Caesar Salad, Whiskey & Aged White Cheddar Burger, 20oz Bone-in Ribeye. The steak and burger were cooked to perfection, the sauces were outstanding and the Caesar salad was by far the best out of all of this listed. The bar selection and beer selection were amazing - the menu clearly highlights the types of beer into each category which helps make a decision much faster. The Cider on tap was so good. The service was good- they were very busy so refills and checking in on us took a bit longer, but it was understandable and we didn't have any issues at all. The only taco that I'm not a big fan of is the Scrambled Egg with Black Beans. It's very bland and the eggs are cold. The new Lunch combos are great - I got the Mushroom Quesadilla with Kale Salad. The Kale Salad had a spicy kick! There's a nice large tank of complimentary ice water instead of the faucet. The hibiscus tea is refreshing and sweetened with honey. On the side, I added a Garlic Naan. We were looking for a quick meal. SpiceX delivered a good amount of flavor at fast food speeds. If you're looking for a sit-down experience, this location is at a bit of a disadvantage since all of these components are put into a plastic tray, everything is intermingling, and it looks like a mess. They only have plastic forks and knives (no spoons) which makes it hard to eat these saucy dishes. Lastly, since a lot of things are pre-made, they're not super hot and they don't adjust the spice level. My favorite thing about naan is it tastes like fresh bread from the oven, which you don't get here. Everything is very mild, and we normally get dishes mild to medium in heat level. If you can get past all that, I think all the flavors are pretty good and the price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Thankfully we ended up at the Unconventional Diner and it was perfect for satisfying everyone in the group!! We were all able to get tasty drinks- from n/a Hibiscus Citrus lemonade, white wine, a cinnamon toast old fashioned (what? A cereal inspired old fashioned, yes please and it was fantastic!), and a Bourbon basil smash. Then the crew settled on some food-the waiter was patient with the questions and contemplation from the table (thank you!). We started with the SKILLET CORNBREAD with Habanero Honey Butter | Sea Salt (v) And that was melt in your mouth cornbread. Damn. Real cornbread seems hard to come by any more and this is the real deal. And the honey butter and flake sea salt-can't go wrong. I'm a spice weeny-for reals-and this was incredible. It's a MUST get. Across the table we had two of the double cheese burgers (I warned, we have a lack of adventurous eaters) -and they both said the burgers were the best they've had. I had the Philly French double dip, with horseradish cream and caramelized onions-so fantastic-the roast beef was melt in your mouth and the broth was the perfect saltiness. Our fourth got the fried chicken sandwich and really loved the dill pickle slaw that came with it, and the chicken was not over cooked and not raw-perfect! We all had fries with our meals, the thinner kind with light seasoning and none of us could stop eating them, even when we were clearly full, the fries just kept disappearing.
