    Hummus

Came in during happy hour and was pleasantly surprised. Food here is good. I got the humus and smash burger. Service was fast and you can place order at kiosk. Please do something about your fly problem. I saw a bunch of them on the bakery items in the glass section. I already spent the money and walked here hungry so do with that information what you please lol

I've been looking for years to find chopped cheese in D.C., so I'm glad that I've finally found it with Chopsmith. The cost before taxes and tip is about $13, and it's a solid quality sandwich and filling as a stand alone item. I found the NoMa location clean, there's wifi to make it a good place to do work, and while I ordered via a kiosk, the service was efficient.

    Spicy Crab Bun

My coworker was raving about the Spicy Crab breakfast sandwich, so I had to check it out. I visited this place the first time, so I didn't know what to expect. First, you order your food from a computer kiosk located in front of the store, then you wait for your name to be called. This forces you to wait and stand in the main area of the store, away from the seating, so that you can hear your name called. This kind of leave you in limbo as you have to decide, "do I go reserve my seat, sit and relax and risk not hearing my name, or do I stand and wait?" I recommend, reserve your seat first, order, then wait for your name to be called. Second, if you order a fountain drink, you have your choice of plenty of juice options, which comes with free refills, which is a plus. Lastly, the food. The menu is plentiful, with many of options that you can customize at the kiosk. The Spicy Crab breakfast sandwich was good. The best thing about it, is that it wasn't messy and the crab with the ole bay seasoning wasn't over powering. It complimented the rest of the ingredients in the sandwich pretty well. For lunch, I came here again and I ordered one of the bowls. I ordered the steak bowl. It was just okay. It was cold. Kind of like a salad, but with rice and steak. Too many cold ingredients for my liking. It wasn't bad, I'll just order something else next time.

    Drip coffee - bad

Chopsmith earns 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up. The breakfast sandwiches were good, the prices were reasonable, they don't tack on any fees / service charges, space is cute, and they have a ton of options including preprepared food and some pantry items. However, they messed up part of our order in a really dumb way and the drip coffee is terrible. We got: BELT ($11) - toasted French white bread, bacon, fried egg, tomato, red onion, and lemon. Breakfast Baguette ($10) - *supposed* to be French long roll, bacon, fried eggs, cheddar cheese, and spicy aioli. We added on a "side" Everything Bagel and drip coffee ($5.50). We ordered through the Toast app for dine-in. Chopsmith has a surprisingly large space with a coffee bar, fridges with preprepared food, some pantry items, and seating. They have Toast kiosks to order from, or you can order on the Toast app, or with the cashier. The layout is a little awkward, with the different areas separated from each other and a large column in the dining area. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived at noon on Sunday, but got a little busier by the time we left. Our food was ready on time. We got it, but it was missing the bagel and drip coffee. There was no one at the coffee bar, so we were instructed to grab a cup and pour the coffee ourselves -- not very helpful. They brought over the bagel a few minutes later. When we opened our sandwiches, it turned out that they misread the order and made the Breakfast Baguette *on* the bagel, which isn't what we wanted. Also, they totally forgot the cheese on the sandwich. The BELT was excellent -- the right balance of ingredients, flavors, structural integrity, size, etc. Just delicious. The Breakfast "Baguette" ended up like a standard bacon and egg bagel sandwich. It had too much aioli on it, was on the wrong bread, and was missing the cheese. That said, it was still pretty good. I'm not sure where they get their bagels (maybe Bullfrog? just a guess based on appearance) and it was good. The drip coffee tasted like bad office coffee that's been sitting out forever; not appropriate. I would take off half a star for the order mistake, but my overall experience was pretty positive, and mistakes happen sometimes, so they still earn 4 stars.

I absolutely LOVE Chopsmith! I have visited numerous times for their delicious salads, plates, and bowls. They also have some amazing sandwiches. Their selection is plentiful (just take a look at their extensive menu!), and everything on their menu is fresh and beautifully prepared. Some of my favorite dishes I've ordered here are the Chopsmith Salad, with steak, their Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad, and their Chimichurri Steak plate. But you really can't go wrong with any of their food selections -- I have never eaten anything at Chopsmith that I didn't absolutely enjoy! This is a fast casual spot, so you order either up at the register or their self-ordering kiosks (at the front of the restaurant), and you pick up your food (you can order for dine-in or to-go) when it's ready and they call your name. The service has always been great, and they're very friendly and quick about getting food orders ready. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and a great place to grab a quick meal. I will absolutely continue to visit and truly look forward to each and every visit!

$23.65 (food: salmon & avocado bowl. drink: hibiscus lemonade.) Chopsmith NoMa location monologue: As soon as I walked in, I just knew I needed to get something on the menu. This place was nice. The options had me salivating; I needed to make a decision. It was not easy. But I finally narrowed it down to the above items, but after I walked around to see all of what was in this place. There were the items on the menu board, food to choose from in the refrigerator and although it was closed when I got there, there was a coffee bar too. There was even an area that was like a mini market where you could purchase goodies to take home. Sheesh, they just want me to come back (and I will!). You could order your food on the computer system that was by the door or from an actual human at the counter. I opted for the human (my preference). A few moments later, my food was ready. I was very satisfied by the appearance of my food (as you can see in the picture. Did someone say photoshoot???). I was equally satisfied with the flavors too! There were several places to choose from to sit and enjoy my meal. If I decided to bring my laptop and sit and sip, well that was an option too (I'll keep that in mind when I come back to do some work while enjoying a latte and munching on a cookie). Come on past here and check it out if you haven't already. And if you have been here, well come back and try something new. P.s. - What is it about sitting by a window, with a great meal that just makes the mind think happy thoughts!?

    Crispy Miso Tofu Plate

I've had a lot of tofu in my day but the NoMa Chopsmith crispy miso tofu is the best ever! I thought about it for weeks afterwards! Not sure how they get it perfectly marinated yet crispy. I always get it to-go and the portion size is generous, which I'm grateful for since the crispy miso tofu plate is $18. The coconut rice is lovely and fluffy with the grilled veggies and slaw salad YUM! Word has spread around my nearby office that this is a must try.

I tried the spicy crab bun and the watermelon mint. The sandwich reminded me of a bacon egg and cheese with arugula, crab, and spicy aioli. While it tasted good, I felt that the bacon overpowered the taste of crab, for the sandwich to have been called a crab bun. The watermelon mint was fire! The restaurant was super cute and I'd definitely be back to try one of the baked goods.

Yum!!!! Great location, food is fresh and large portions. They have an order screen so I didn't deal with employees that much. They have a coffee shop that looks yummy but was closed when we got there for late lunch. They also have a fridge/freezer with premade things you can get to go. I got the buffalo chicken Caesar wrap without bleu cheese and it was 10/10. Will definitely be back to try more menu items!

Caesar salad with crispy chicken, French fries, and guava lime juice

I've long been a fan of the Chopsmith location at The Wharf, but had only ever gotten delivery from there. I was very excited to see they were opening a NoMa location and also that the menu expanded. I live and work just down the street, and I've been to the NoMa location 5 times now. All have been good experiences. Previously, I always ordered the salmon and avocado bowl for delivery, which I love. I haven't tried that at this location, but I have tried the salmon BLT, the chopped cheese, and the Caesar salad with added crispy chicken for mains. I've also had their salmon tortellini salad, fries, and the parmesan potatoes, as well as a few of their juices/Agua frescas. Everything has been delicious, fresh, and in good portions. I hadn't had a chopped cheese before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was soo good and I highly recommend. The fries are some of my favorite fries in general, as they are flavorful but not greasy at all. Honestly, I recommend everything I've had. I will say that it can take a while if you come here at lunch time because there tends to be a rush, but nothing outrageous. Today was the first time that I came here to work remotely, and it was honestly a perfect spot for that, too. They have their coffee bar with some baked goods (though keep in mind the coffee bar is only open until 2:00), which is nice. There is plenty of seating, and it was virtually empty and didn't really get more people until about noon-1:00. All (or at least most) of the seats also have access to outlets, which was very convenient/helpful because that's not the case with other places I've been. I also have always had positive interactions with the staff. They are friendly and helpful. They also have refrigerated cases with some of their sides packed and ready to go, drinks, and some ready-to-bake meals. I haven't tried any of those, but I plan to. Finally, they sell some local goods like different jams/spreads, chocolates, wines, etc. which I think is really cool. Overall, I definitely recommend Chopsmith - NoMa for either stopping in for a meal or for a remote work spot!

A bit pricy but the Baja bowl I got was very good! They don't have GF bread but have a lot of options outside of sandwiches.

I've only gotten the Sub Club the few times I've gone here but what can I say? its a fail proof staple that is hard to get wrong and that they do very right. I often pair it with one of their drinks, this time being the spicy ginger ale which was solid as well. There's really not much place to dine-in if you're trying to dine and go - I recommend only using the dining area if you're solo, a couple, or part of a small group (at MOST maybe - a hard maybe - on 4 people) and only if you want to use the bar. One couple tried to squeeze in a baby stroller into the bar/dining area. Its really not suitable for things like suitcases or strollers so if you're in that camp maybe try some other spots because that also made a tiny space all the more difficult to navigate. Also, if you have a mobility device, this might not be the best spot for you either. I've never used their restrooms before so can't comment on that one. I still will say it is good for when you want to grab and go - so if you're in that category, and you like moderately priced sandwiches (for this part of town) this might work for you.

I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office.
