Where are the customers? Only one other table seated

The ambiance and decor are super cool! The service was great--prompt, friendly, consistent, and pleasant! I ordered a margarita at the bar, which was tasty and prepped with a salted rim and made quickly but barely had any alcohol in it. Why not just call it a mocktail? For my meal, I ordered the deviled eggs, vegetarian nachos, and cornbread, which is a weird combination, I know, but it all tasted great! The cornbread was in the shape of corn and came with a hard block of brown butter. The nachos were a big portion. I asked for habanero sauce, and it was the mildest habanero I've ever had. I also ordered birria tacos to go that were not good at all. They weren't shredded as I expected but rather giant hard unseasoned blocks of meat. Definitely avoid! Overall,

The food was great and the service was great. It's the perfect spot for good food before a caps game. They get you in and out in no time and are friendly all along the way! The inside was very nice and food was delicious.

Ultimately, this was a disappointing experience. The food wasn't anything to rave about. The drinks didn't make up for it either. One of my friends kept saying his fish had more breading than fish. After trying it myself, I agreed. The taste was awful, and I was honestly surprised he didn't send it back. If they had toned down (or properly seasoned) the breading, it might have been decent. My other friend said her tacos were fine, but the price point didn't match what she got. My burger was okay, nothing special. The best thing I had all night was the chips and salsa. I also ordered a glass of wine, and the glassware wasn't very clean. You could clearly see streaks and scratches on it, which didn't help the overall impression. I wouldn't recommend this as a first date spot or really a date spot in general. I will say, they were clearly going for a certain ambiance, and I can appreciate that. Unfortunately, the arena's large LED sign shines directly through the top windows at night. If you're seated facing it, it's almost blinding. Adding a shade or darker tint to that upper window would make a big difference. Oh and bathrooms were horribly designed. It was dark walking up the ramp (which is a trip hazard) and signage was nonexistent until you got up to the door opening. I regret recommending this place to my friends, but hey at least we can say we tried it. I wouldn't return to this location. I'd suggest going to the Wharf location instead.

Looking for a happy hour that starts at noon?! Well this is the place! I didn't arrive at noon but closer to 3. Not sure if that's a new thing but I'm not mad at it. The bar gets crowded pretty quickly. I enjoyed the rose on the happy hour - it was $7! They have great specials. Woot!

After visiting the DC holiday market, we stopped in to Mi Vida. There was a hockey game going on at the arena so the wait was about an hour. The food was definitely worth the wait. - The guacamole was really good with a hint of spice - the plantains came with sides of a cream and queso Fresca similar to what you would place on elote. It was a pleasant surprise. - the quesadilla was flavorful but the presentation was lazy. I also asked for jalapeños in the quesadilla and instead they gave me a whole charred jalapeño which was not ideal. My friends also enjoyed their meals. The decor was cute and gives a romantic vibe. I could see this as a cute date night and still has the space to be a good girls night out spot as well.

My friends and I had dinner here after the theater and it was a most enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The food was delicious and prices reasonable. It was very busy so I'm glad we made reservation. Two of us had the Carne tacos with sweet potato fries and one had the fish tacos with street corn. Very delicious! Drinks were also good. We plan on coming back when we're in the area. The district manager came by our table to see if we were happy with our service. The restaurant was brightly decorated and facilities were clean.

We had a good solid meal here. We were a large group and there was a little confusion with the dishes ie, which one has less cheese? I had the birra which has always had a dipping broth. This one didn't have it and when I asked, they said they could bring me one, but it never came. The food was good though. The restaurant itself is beautiful, different rooms all well decorated with lots of natural light. The hostess was especially delightful and she brought us to our table even though we were early and they told us before we arrived that we needed the entire group before we could sit.

Perhaps the second-best tacos I've ever had!

Fresh, delicious food at reasonable (for downtown) prices. Mi Vida is located at the corner of 7th and F. But don't let its address on 7th fool you, the entrance is around the corner on F St. Once you figure that out, you'll be stepping into a delightful, if somewhat raucous, space decorated with thematic sculptures, kitschy artwork, and even a fake tree. We were there on a Thursday evening, and the place was packed. Fortunately, we had reservations and were seated immediately. The host and waitstaff were all pleasant and prompt. Here's what we had and what we thought of it... We ordered two different margaritas, their basic house version and the slightly more expensive La Buena Vida. We both agreed that the house version had a cleaner flavor and is what we would order again. The Guacamole was delicious! It was accompanied by some tasty nacho chips that were crisp and free of any hint of oiliness. Our fish tacos were perhaps the second-best tacos I've ever had. The best ones were from a food truck in the parking lot of a brew pub in some suburb of Miami, and I'm not likely to ever find, let alone have, those again. But, I digress. The Mi Vida Fish Tacos were filled with good-sized chunks of fried fish that had a nice crunch when I bit into them, garnished with a tangy sauce, and wrapped in a soft corn tortilla that "kept it together" while I scarfed it down. We also ordered Plantains and Esquites (street corn) as side dishes. The plantains had the perfect texture and a sweet balance that complemented the tacos. The street corn was fine; we liked it least because everything else was so good. And as a final benefit, they accept InKind payments so you can tamp down the "DC Price" a bit. free of any

Came here for a bite and drink after walking around a museum all day and had an overall good experience. Ordered the chicken nachos and the dish was somewhat small but tasty. Also had a few wings off their happy hour menu and they were definitely the best thing we tried. For my main meal I had a couple of tacos, shrimp and fish, and they were both delicious. My partner got the birria and wasn't a fan. 1 star off bc the margarita was mostly mix, I couldn't finish it. Overall, nice vibe, attentive service, and tasty food, would recommend for casual night or even date night.

10.10.25 I made dinner reservations on the OpenTable app for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10 to celebrate my husband's belated birthday. We had plans to see the Dave Chappelle show across the street at Capital One Arena, and the restaurant was understandably packed with other patrons heading there as well. My husband checked us in, and we were told there would be a brief wait. Around 6:38 p.m., our table was ready. Our server, Jason, greeted us promptly and took our drink order. We ordered a bottle of still water, a Pepsi for me, and a beer for my husband. The still water was refreshing, but the Pepsi tasted flat. For our appetizer, we ordered the queso fundido. The portion was smaller compared to other Mexican restaurants we've visited, and we both agreed that we've had better elsewhere. For our entrée, we shared the Pasilla-Coffee Marinated Ribeye, which was served with melted cheese, sautéed peppers and onions, flour tortillas, cornbread, guacamole, crema, and pico de gallo. It also came with two sides--we chose rice and beans. The dish, priced at $79 and meant to serve one to two people, was outstanding. It was easily one of the best fajitas I've had in a long time. The only disappointment was the cornbread, which was hard and dry. When my husband stepped away to use the restroom, I mentioned to Jason that it was his birthday and ordered the citrus tres leches for dessert. Jason brought it out with a candle, which was a lovely touch. We shared it, though my husband wasn't a fan of the citrus topping. I, on the other hand, enjoyed it--the cake was moist, as it should be, and I loved the addition of sliced almonds, which complemented the texture perfectly. The restaurant features a bar, patio seating, and two dining areas. We were seated in the dining area nearest the restrooms. My only critique concerns the ladies' restroom. There are two sinks, but one was inoperable and lacked soap, while the functioning sink had such low water pressure that it was more of a drip than a stream. This is an inconvenience, especially for guests dining before events at Capital One Arena, when time is limited. I hope management addresses this issue promptly. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with excellent service from Jason. I highly recommend splurging on the ribeye fajitas--it's well worth it!

Mi Vida is a fun restaurant to enjoy happy hour in the bar area or full service sit-down dining experience in their large dining area. My husband and I were taking a break from the downtown DC holiday market just across the street from Mi Vida and enjoyed a round of happy hour at the bar prior to sitting down for a full meal in the dining area. The happy hour menu is fairly diverse and we easily found a cocktail and snack to try. The spicy mezcal cocktail was probably my favorite. I love the smoky flavor of mezcal. The appetizer and entree selections are very expansive and should satisfy any crowd. The portions are also huge. My husband and I realized we should have just ordered on entree to share...lol. Anyway, everything tasted amazing and the staff were all helpful and friendly. We will be back. Thank you and happy holidays! :-)

everything was amazing. I can't wait to go back. Even though I live in Frederick, I am looking forward to the day. I'm able to get back there and enjoy another meal. all of the food came out fresh and tasty. Our waiter is very familiar with the menu even gave us a few drink suggestions. everything about this restaurant was amazing. Everything was clean and as the sun went down the restaurant indoor lighting just got better and you were able to really take in the aesthetics. this place is located right across from Capitol one Arena, which makes it very convenient because it's also near the Gallery Pl., Metro stop and during the month of December and maybe January it's also across from the DC holiday market. The shrimp and crab guacamole was so fresh and seasoned to perfection. If nothing else I'm going back just for that and the margarita was amazing too.

We went in right as they opened, on a Friday at 5 pm, and there was already a line! The reservations were full, but we were offered a seat either at the bar or outside. Luckily it was a beautiful day so we took a seat outside. They started us off with a sweet hibiscus flavored juice as a palate cleanser which was super refreshing. The left side of the menu had appetizers and shareables, while the right side had entrees. We ordered the short rib tacos, pork belly, wagyu empanadas, and seafood enchiladas. Everything had a beautiful bright orange sauce on it and made it look like it would be spicy but it wasn't! I think it's their signature guajillo sauce and it was VERY good, super creamy. Seafood enchiladas: This was my fav. Might have been because it was extremely hungry and it was my first bite. Definitely best when eaten warm, as the cheese is gooiest and the seafood inside is hot. I wasn't sure how the salad was going to be but it added a perfect refreshing and acidity to balance out the creamy sauce. Wagyu empanadas: Much gooey-er and cheesier than expected, but also a hit! Came with a decent amount of beef inside. Comes with the orange sauce and a chimichurri, which I think was a good idea because given how cheesy and creamy the filling already was, the chimichurri was a nice balance as well. Pork belly: Melts as soon as you cut into it. The Asian in me low key wanted a giant bowl of rice with this so that I could soak up all the sauce and veggies. Pretty fatty so if you're not a fan of that you might not like this. Short rib tacos: These were loaded, not with meat but with tons of crunchy topping (maybe fried carrots?) Could have done with slightly less crunch but overall still good. The orange sauce on the bottom had a peanuty flavor which I thought added a unique kick. Also, we were surprised at how quickly the food came out. We were in and out in under an hour. Our server Rebecca was also extremely nice. Will def be back if in the area. Highly recommend all around!

We went around 11:30, so it started off pretty quiet, but as brunch picked up, it definitely got louder. The ambiance is nice though, very laid-back, chill, and a great vibe for a group brunch or celebration. We did the bottomless brunch, and one thing I really appreciated is that the bottomless food and drinks are priced separately. Not everyone in our group wanted drinks, so it was nice that we were only charged for the people who actually ordered them. The only downside is that mocktails aren't included. The food is served as small plates brought out progressively, but I do wish this had been explained better upfront. It was presented as if they would just bring items out, but it wasn't clearly communicated that we could also order anything we wanted from the menu. That made the experience feel a bit confusing. The meal started off strong. The salad was fresh, and there was a fruit/yogurt dish with agave that was honestly one of the best things we had. From there, it became hit or miss. The ceviche and chips were good, the fish tacos were solid, and I appreciated that they had some vegetarian options (though somewhat limited). The waffle and churro were highlights, but the potato hash fell flat. As the meal went on, service slowed down quite a bit. We were waiting a while for certain items (like the corn), and it felt like things just started to lag toward the end. Service overall followed a similar pattern. Strong at the beginning, but less attentive as it got busier. Overall, I'd rate it around a 7 out of 10. It's a fun spot for the experience and group setting, but the lack of clarity and inconsistency in pacing took away from it. I might consider trying it for dinner since I've heard good things, but for brunch, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to revisit.

Our server was really knowledgeable and friendly. As for the food , unfortunately, i didn't have anything that blew me away. My mini hamburger/Ibérico de bellota mini hamburguesa was actually my favorite item. Very juicy and flavorful. Though $13.00 for one slider was a bit much. My least favorite was the rabbit confit with apricot puree/Conejo en salmorejo con puré de albaricoques. I was excited about this because I can't recall the last time I've ever had rabbit but I think it was the texture of the puree that took away from the dish. Coming in at the middle was the seafood paella. I know it's one of the restaurants headlining menu items but I found the seasoning inconsistent. The rice seemed a bit salty and the shrimp was pretty bland. Combining it to balance it out didn't yield the flavor I was hoping for. We came during happy hour from 4-7 PM, which only applies to alcoholic beverages. The cocktails were excellent and definitely worth ordering. Service was a bit inconsistent, as our first visit had better timing and attentiveness, but both servers were pleasant. Each table was also given a dish of corn nuts to snack on while waiting for food. *Pinazo: the lightest cocktail I tried. The pineapple flavor came through clearly even though the puree was not visible. It was very fragrant, though I could not detect the amarena cherry. The fruit largely masked the vodka. *Lychee Pisco: the lychee puree itself was mild, with most of the flavor coming from the fruit garnish. The elderflower and hibiscus notes were more prominent. As someone who enjoys floral profiles, I liked this, though others may find it more perfumed than expected. *Guapo's Pisco: the passionfruit was again on the milder side, while the ginger beer stood out more. Served in a metal mug, it drank like a sweeter Moscow Mule. *Passion Pisco Sour: the pisco sours had more distinct and vibrant flavors overall, and I would highly recommend them if you enjoy fruit forward drinks with an egg white finish. There is also a flight option, which I would have ordered if not for happy hour. This one was my favorite, with a well balanced mix of tartness and sweetness. *Chicha Sour: more tart than the passion version, with a warmer, spiced undertone. The cinnamon added a subtle smokiness, though it still leaned sweeter than expected. *Ceviche Sampler: includes tradicional, cremoso, and callejero. A great way to try a range of flavors, and everyone in my group had a different favorite. I would recommend asking for crispy plantains, as they were not automatically included and help carry the seafood. The tradicional leaned heavily on acidity, allowing the fish to shine, though it felt a bit one note. The sweet potato helped balance it. The callejero was my favorite, with a noticeable kick in the leche de tigre. The cancha and choclo added nuttiness, earthiness, and crunch. The cremoso sat in between, with more body and a slightly sweeter, richer profile thanks to the sweet potato. My only complaint was that the fish pieces were cut quite large, so we had to break them down further. *Causa Sampler: another trio featuring crocante, tartare, and pollo. These were heavier despite the smaller portions. The whipped potato base was well seasoned and had more structure than typical mashed potatoes. The crocante featured a large fried shrimp with rocoto aioli, though I would have preferred the sauce on the side. The flavor leaned like a standard spicy mayo. The tuna tartare had a Japanese influence, but the aioli was overly sweet, making the dish feel cloying. A thicker layer of avocado could have helped balance it. The wonton crisp was also missing both times I ordered it. The chicken version was the most mild and rustic, and needed more acidity or spice to bring it together. Despite this, the trio had potential with some adjustments. *Plancha Pulpo: a must order. This featured a large grilled octopus leg served with causa and choclo on a sizzling plate. The octopus had a smoky char and garlicky chimichurri, with a perfect balance of tenderness and chew. It rivaled a well cooked steak and was easily the standout dish. *Lomo Saltado: medium rare tenderloin stir fried with onions and peppers. The savory sweet sauce coated the fries, rice, and meat beautifully. The flavor leaned slightly Asian, and the beef was juicy and tender. The vegetables were soft and naturally sweet. *Pionono: fried sponge cake filled with Nutella and dulce de leche. It was quite sweet, but the coffee chip ice cream added a deep, rich contrast. The ice cream alone was standout quality. This dessert is easily shareable among four. *Flan: a classic base topped with grilled pineapple and quinoa tuille. The flan itself was smooth and creamy, though the pineapple's acidity distracted from it. It would have benefited from more caramelization. The quinoa tuille added texture more than flavor. *Suspiro: a polarizing dessert, but one I personally enjoyed. The manjar blanco was extremely rich and sweet, paired with an equally sugary meringue. I would have liked more texture or a torched finish for contrast. The passionfruit glaze was my favorite element, though it was used sparingly and could have helped balance the dish more if incorporated throughout. Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar deserves its praise. The portions are generous, and the flavors are thoughtfully composed. While there are small tweaks I would make, the overall execution stands out and feels a step above many other options in DC.
