I really liked this place! I loved the ordering system, where you grab a paper and mark off everything you want in your order because it made it really easy to order and streamlined the process of the food being made. They had so much options for toppings and many different flavor options to try! They had a decent amount of seating as well. My only issue would be that it's a bit more expensive than I'd like to spend for lunch.

A great lunch to keep my energy up on a museum day full of walking! We needed something substantial but also wouldn't weigh us down (and nearby) and this was just perfect. I love a menu that makes it easy to order and checking off exactly what you want to eat makes it incredibly easy. They have a lot of different options so you can get something completely different from the rest of your group if you want. I got some bulgolgi with carrots, fried onions, seaweed salad, and corn - topped with a little teriyaki sauce. They have extra sauces in the shop if you want a little something more or changed your mind. The service was very quick and the servers were nice. Bonus points for their delicious cola!

There are a few eateries in this little indoor courtyard and I decided to settle and order "spicy chicken over rice." This place is a Korean inspired cava/rasa/chipotle. You can order rice or noodle and build upon your bowl. I decided to order one of their classics. Marinated bean sprouts, eggplant, zucchini, fried egg, carrots, chicken topped with your choice of sauce; I choose gochujang. I wanted the chicken to be prepared grilled, but instead it was boiled and probably doused with some pepper paste. Did it blow my mind? No. Did it fill my tummy up with Korean flavors? Yes. It's not on par with what you find in your neighborhood K-town joint, but it did its job to quench my hunger for $16.

Very quick bite to eat Korean fast food joint. You can pick your own fresh toppings and/or complete a slip as you walk into the door hand it to the prep person and go to the cashier. Unless you know what you're eating you wont know what you're eating there is no clear labels or labels for the sauces etc ,you literally have to ask what sauce it is and what's that before you add it to your bowl. Technically it's not a rice bar per se ,they have Ramon as well as other noodle base selections in addition to rice, brown rice, etc. The prices are too next time I'll try the chicken curry maybe ....its also a little tight in there so seating is first come first serve .

Sometimes having too many choices & decisions to make can hinder a good dining experience. Thankfully, they have "signature" items to choose from. Other reviewers describe Rice Bar as a Korean/Asian chipotle-like eatery and that's accurate. Items are fresh and plentiful. Many choices of starch (rice, noodles, etc.), proteins, sauces, etc. Good value if you choose basic meals though with enough additions, you can easily spend $20 on your meal. Lots of counter seating in a tight space. It's likely that much of the clientele do takeout. Service was standard fast-food style.

Great food. Came here for lunch and wasn't disappointed. I went with their signature dish but they offer build your own (bibimbap and noodles). Toppings were fresh as was the rice. Delicious and I would recommend coming here to get your Bibimbap on. I'll come here again.

Love this concept! Picking a base (we went with rice in one and ramen noodles in the other), protein (chicken in one and beef in the other), then 4 add-ons, plus a sauce. We were able to make two completely different flavor profiles, meaning the opportunities feel endless as lunch options. However, the sizes are pretty large. I don't think I could eat a full serving then go back to the office, but going straight back to our walking-heavy afternoon was perfect. There isn't a ton of seating, but I imagine a fair amount of people take this to-go to eat elsewhere.

5 Stars Great spot for a quick and satisfying noodle or rice bowl! The ordering process is simple, grab a tag, I selected buckwheat, 4 ingredients (my choice- broccoli, mushrooms, roasted onions, seaweed), fish broth or miso and pick up your meal at the cashier. The service is fast, and the miso soup is always hot, adding extra flavor to the bowl. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is inviting, with modern music playing and plenty of indoor seating. Whether you're in a rush or looking to sit and enjoy your meal, this place delivers on both quality and convenience. Highly recommend!

This is a noble 3 Review. Service: This is the kind of place where you walk up and fill out a form to get your order. You pick the ingredients, there are some presets for novices like me. You hand the slip to a person behind counter and they may your meal. Ambience: This is in an office building a block off the mall. Convenient and quick lunch spot where you eat at the counter. I would be doing you a disservice to say it was a romantic date night spot, it is not that. The food is great. You can configure to create Korean and Japanese bowls or soups. It is up to you to create a masterpiece or something less.

I like the paper ordering system but I was a bit overwhelmed at the options. I ended up building my own options. It turned out pretty good. But I should have ordered a rice bowl. It is part of their name so I bet their rice bowls are good.

All five family members enjoyed lunch here today. Service was fast and easy with filling out individual order sheets. Gluten free options abound as well! Flavors were excellent and the bowls were put together quickly! Each to order and loaded with fresh veggies, and proteins of choice and mine was topped off with a delicious miso broth. Nice atmosphere and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Well run establishment!

Can I just say this was literally the best place we ate in DC! If you are going to the Air and Space Museum or anywhere close then get lunch here. You have to be looking for this place.... It's on the bottom floor of a high rise. It was popping for lunch. You order on a paper. Some high and some low seats... super small busy shop. Was able to sit easily but this place cannot really accommodate a wheelchair or stroller. The food was awesome - if you can eat in with the metal bowl vs takeout container I imagine it's better. They do have fountain or bottled soda. The only thing to be aware of is that is technically doesn't have a bathroom. I think there was one that people were able to use but just one (didn't see).

I felt like the food in this tier was pretty good value - highlights were the xiao chi platter, the char siu specials (perfect char), pork wuharou, and little pot mixian noodle. The food came out a little bit slow despite the restaurant not being full, which contributed to us eating less than I expected to during the 90 min res. But, for AYCE the food quality definitely beat my expectations. Would skip the crispy garlic rice as it was pretty plain and the souffle pancake (honestly more sponge cake than souffle?). I've heard the Braised Beef Lu is good so I'd come back to try that next time. If you're looking for a modern asian brunch/lunch spot, definitely recommend checking out this restaurant!

I approach my review of this place thinking along two lines of thought. As a Vietnamese restaurant,…read morethis place is spacious and nicely decorated but very lacking as an example of what Vietnamese food is. More authentic flavors can be found 20-30 minutes away in East Falls Church at Eden Center. Having said that, I realize this place exists in Southwest DC and I should be grateful to find any Vietnamese food at all, no matter how mediocre. Yet even inside DC proper, where there's high-end (read overpriced) Vietnamese food and the standard spots for the everyman, the quality of food here does not measure up. I can think of a few small hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese places near Union Station, along 14th street, and even in Chinatown that have better Vietnamese food here. But if you're in the SW area and not keen on taking a metro ride elsewhere, having this place is better than nothing. Different than most Vietnamese restaurants where you sit down and they come take your order, you're supposed to grab a menu as you walk in and order at the counter. You're given a number and then you sit yourself. There's also a self-serve water station in case you didn't order a drink. It's functional but that level of service kind of undermines the nice decor here, pairing nice visuals with low-end service. However, I never go to an authentic Vietnamese restaurant expecting quality service, so whatever. The food is what I go for. And the food here -- I've had the phở and the bún thịt nướng (grill pork noodles with eggrolls) -- might scratch an itch but is ultimately lackluster. The phở is passable, though the cuts of meat are sparse. Flavor is not the best but it's not horrible either. The grilled pork on the grilled pork noodles however are super dry and I don't feel were made fresh. I feel as if they were reheated somehow. The flavor is off. The texture is tougher than it should be. And the fish sauce, which should pull this dish together and overcome other blemishes if delicious, also falls short. When I got the rice noodle dish, it came with a small portion of fish sauce. I poured it all in to the bowl but somehow every bite was still super dry. I had to ask for a second portion to be able to taste the flavor. But then I realized the flavor was not quite right. Overall I'm glad there's a Vietnamese restaurant in this part of town for times when I'm here and don't want to venture elsewhere. But should I ever really want solid Vietnamese food, I will venture elsewhere.

Only the Pho Noodles will come with the spring roll for the lunch special, other specials only come with a drink. The spring roll it comes with is veggie with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. They have plenty of drinks to choose from I think it is nice they offer sparkling waters as well. Overall, service is very fast for both dine-in and take out. There is plenty of seating. You fill out a little sheet instead of shouting to the people assembling the bowl. There are lots of options and the ingredients seem fresh. The bulgogi is really good. While the meat portions aren't like the biggest ever, I think they're feeling the squeeze for beef prices. But there are lots of things. I think I got the fried onion, pickled radishes, kale, carrots, and peanut sauce. The most important thing here is they have extra sauce containers which you can squeeze onto your food. Often the biggest flaw of these places is they are stingy with sauce so the bowl might be plain. So overall this was good, I recommend for a good and nice lunch.
