Love this place! It's a great spot for us ASU students to pop on over to The barista is always super kind. Great vibes and great coffee

Saw this place on social media and decided to stop by before work. The decor inside is very charming and clean! They have a good size menu and they also currently have 3 fall specials. The barista was very sweet and had great recommendations to add to my drink. I opted for the pumpkin chico, iced, with oat milk + pumpkin cold foam. I appreciate that the milk options are almond, oat, or coconut, as someone who is lactose intolerant. The pumpkin chico was absolutely delicious!!! The espresso was brewed perfectly + it tasted like fall. Perfect start to my day and will most definitely be back!

What a great new addition to Roosevelt Row! I tried the Cafe Chico which comes with their homemade syrup, a green chile empanada, & chocolate muffin and they were all delicious! The only feedback is that the dough of the empanada was squishy so I wish it had more of a crunchy texture but the meat with the green chile was incredible! The service was super friendly and I really loved the vintage cozy atmosphere. Can't wait to be back to try the tamales!

Such a great new addition to Downtown Phoenix. Loved the fall ambience-- a cozy and homey vibe. The Chico iced latte was amazing. My partner got a hot cafe matador which was also delicious. The barista was very friendly and brought the coffees to us. Great price as well. We will be back!

This place just opened up, and I had a few colleagues talk about how great it is. I had a large horchata cold brew. I can't remember the last time I paid under $5 for a large cold brew. It tasted good, not too sweet. The AC was full blast in there and felt really good to just hang out in there for a while. They were playing Spanish music, and it had a vintage vibe to it. The service was good and the barista was friendly. For that price alone I would definitely come back.

This coffee shop has a relatively streamlined menu that does each item well. The decor is interesting, although the TV static was a bit glaring at the first table I sat at. I had to move to another table to be able to focus on my laptop. The store was clean and had a good amount of seating and space.

Iced Chico Cafe with a red pork tamale

Just went this morning to pick up some cafecito and I seen that they have tamales...let me tell you something about those tamales , they are so good! You can tell they are made from either la tia, la mama or the abuelita #chefs-kiss!!! Great cafecito, incredible tamales, and a cozy vibe? What more can you ask for !!!

The drinks are great and the staff is friendly. It's pretty cozy for a place without a sofa.

The perfect little spot where you can get some work done without feeling like you're stuck in a library. I've only heard great things and it was such a pleasure to make a visit. The interior is ultra modern, and art-centered. On a Wednesday morning, there was one staff member holding it down and a wait/line with about 5-6 people, so the wait was about 15-20 minutes in total-- including ordering and waiting for drinks. There was mainly only paid street parking options, but it wasn't hard to find any right in front of the shop. I got two drinks: Más and Abeja, to try their matcha and coffee, and really thoroughly enjoyed both. The matcha is a little bit on the milkier side, but I did enjoy that it was completely unsweetened, and leaned on the vanilla cold foam for a light sweetness. I think I enjoyed the coffee more personally, as the honey paired super well with the espresso and oat milk. The espresso is very good. I would come back if I was in the area, I just wish the parking situation was a little different!

The ambiance, drinks, and service were all great! There is an entrance to Lola Coffee from Roosevelt and another from the back near parking spaces. There is a restroom near the back entrance, and the start to the line to place an order is right near the front entrance. I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. You can see their menu, history, photos, and more on their website (https://lolacoffeebarphx.com). While I had trouble choosing between a lemonade for a cold beverage or hot chocolate for a warm beverage, it's great they have so many options. Again, try them for drinks, breakfast, or pastries. Their staff is so helpful and the actual restaurant is quite welcoming to everyone.

I came in the late afternoon to this bakery/coffee house combo, and I was pleasantly surprised with the environment. Lots of natural light and easy-going atmosphere. It was a small shop, but still had good seating. I ordered a prickly pear espresso tonic and got a bag of beans as well. I had a great interaction with the barista and she recommended me some good beans to take home. The tonic itself was very refreshing, and I was happy to have it on one of the hottest days of the year up until then. Lovely vibes and the coffee is great. I think I want to come back to try their other espresso-based stuff to get a good gauge on how a flat white or cortado tastes. I'll definitely want to come back, especially to visit their larger location in Chandler.

Overall, this was a solid coffee shop experience with friendly staff, tasty food, and a clean space that made it easy to hang out for a bit. Inside/Outside - 4/5 The shop was clean, organized, and well maintained. Everything felt organized and efficient, which I appreciated. There was plenty of seating and a comfortable environment to enjoy coffee or get some work done. My only gripe is that the space felt a little too polished. It had more of a corporate coffee shop feel than the cozy neighborhood café vibe I typically gravitate toward. Nothing wrong with that, just a matter of personal preference. Customer Service - 4/5 The staff were nice and kind. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, patient, and happy to answer questions. Service was quick, and I had my order in hand before long. Food & Dranks - 4/5 I ordered the Peanut Butter Shaker along with the Bacon & Egg Empanada. The Peanut Butter Shaker was smooth, refreshing, and packed with flavor. Definitely a fun twist if you're looking for something beyond your standard coffee order. Plus came with some extra protein. The Bacon & Egg Empanada was warm, flaky, and made for a great grab-and-go breakfast. Nothing overly fancy, but it hit the spot and paired well with the drink. A little small but definitely a great snax. TL;DR - Overall: 4/5 - Clean and organized coffee shop - Street parking - Peanut Butter Shaker was delicious with extra protein - Bacon & Egg Empanada made for a solid snax - Good spot to grab coffee, work, or relax - Only drawback was that it felt a bit corporate versus a cozy local coffeehouse - Would happily stop by again for a coffee and snack

As I enjoyed my drink, a gentle sense of relaxation gradually settled in, leaving me feeling calm, centered, and remarkably at ease without any sense of heaviness. Lacuna offers something refreshingly different from a traditional coffee shop or cocktail lounge, creating an environment where conversation flows naturally and relaxation takes center stage. Whether you're curious about kava for the first time or already familiar with its calming properties, Lacuna Kava Bar is absolutely worth a visit. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and a truly distinctive beverage experience makes it a standout destination.
