Fried chicken gizzards are awesome! I was looking for breakfast and was uninspired by my choices until I came upon this Asian fried chicken stand at the market. I ordered a chicken thigh, chicken drumstick, and $2 worth of gizzards for breakfast, and it was probably one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The drumstick and thigh were very plump and juicy, similar to Southern style fried chicken - unfortunately a little on the bland side, but still very tasty with excellent batter. What stole the show were the chicken gizzards which were nice and crunchy, and a bit salty. It's so hard to find good chicken gizzards, and frankly I was shocked to find them at a place to touristy as Pike Market, but they were fantastic and I would definitely order a bag of them (and probably some hearts too) the next time I visit the market. read more

Chicken Valley is located in the heart of Pikes Place Market so it's almost a must stop and sample spot like nearly everything in Pikes. When I am feeling naughty one of my favorite past times is to get an order of deep fried gizzards and hearts and do my weekly grocery shopping, that being said I wish I felt like I could give this place more than 3 stars (and that's in my own personal opinion almost more than they deserve). My frustrations lie in these two factors 1) The service is almost unapologetically horrendous. I almost now avoid this spot at nearly all costs due to this reason alone. The women running the register is just downright rude, and condescending. She almost makes me feel like my business is an inconvenience to her. That to me is not a way to run a business. 2) I have consistently had issues with the freshness and quality of the food they serve. I have been regularly served over cooked soggy deep fried food that shouldn't be sold to customers. I so want to be a fan, Pikes place is one of my favorite things about living in Seattle but this place is basically worth skipping when visiting. I hope things change for them! read more

A trip to Pikes had me hungry with so many options available...why I stopped here is because I love liver, gizzards & rice. An acquired taste, I know but it was really good. I did not have any chicken unfortunately but if it's seasoned anything like the liver and gizzards then it had to be good! I would return here for chicken & other items, for sure! Fried chicken gizzards - enough said! OMG, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that they have fried chicken gizzards and livers! Who would have guessed! I didn't think anyone would eat them but holy cow - they were popular even among Americans! The fried chicken looked really good but my eyes and stomach were set on the fried gizzards. We got half a pound and it was yummy yummy yummy for our tummies tummies tummies! YUM! As stated by other Yelpers - it's very well seasoned so imagine the chewy gizzards that's also tasty and crunchy. Hands down, best fried chicken I've ever had. Breading is not excessive. Light, but crispy. This is the first place we hit up on our visits to the market. Quick, easy snack while shopping. This is the spot for the freshest fried chicken and best gizzards. They also have hearts, fries, corndogs, and other fried goodies, but I come here for the fried chicken and gizzards. I workout hard just so I can eat here. The asian couple who runs Chicken Valley Farm are super friendly plus they change the oil and cook everything separately to maintain the great taste of each item. The chicken has just the right amount of crunch and spice but every bite is soooo juicy. The gizzards are tender with flavor in every chew and literally melt in your mouth. The last person who reviewed this place said it was BETTER than Joe's Gizzard City. I've been salivating over Joe's Gizzard City since I watched said episode and hey Seattle is alot closer to home than Michigan. I have nothing to say except it was fricking AMAZING. Juicy, tender, crunchy deep fried wonderful morsels of gizzard, livers and hearts. I got a mixed tray, walked about 10 feet away and decided to walk back and pick up more livers. Best decision of my life. My stomach hurt, I had gas pains and I felt disgustingly bloated and fat but it was all worth it. I am salivating as we speak. Must make trip to Seattle again! read more

After grabbing a few items at Cost Plus today, I was walking by the Pike Place Market and the smell of fried chicken was in the air. It was lunch time and I hadn't had lunch yet. What a unique find in Pike Place! I am a huge offal fan and its not something I thought I would find in a relatively touristy place. My rank of offal would be fried gizzards, heart then liver. It is definitely worth a try if you're feeling adventurous. Also ordered the drumstick and thigh. They were great as well! The batter was light and thin, which I love. The chicken was moist and tender. A lot of times inexperienced stands would add heavy breading and dry chicken. This was not the case. The only criticism I have is the amount of salt they had on the offal. It was a little too much for my liking, especially if you're eating a lot. Would definitely come again! read more

I love unusual bits of animals and sought out Chicken Valley when I was at Pike Place Market. It's certainly not where the internet mapping programs have placed it but just ask someone and they'll point you into the main market building. There are enormous chicken pieces and the thigh I had was well seasoned and tasty. However, the stars of the show for me were the fried gizzards and livers. Succulent and spicy but quite greasy - a previous reviewer recommended double bagging and I second that. I found a nice spot nearby in the Market to sit and gaze out at the ships in Puget Sound. My friends and I randomly stopped at this little chicken stand at pikes. We weren't even hungry but the chicken just smelled so good. We ended up getting honey glazed chicken on a stick. I tried this place out on a whim because I noticed they had chicken gizzards. Gizzards are hard to find in Seattle and I was not impressed with Ezell's gizzards the two times I tried them. The service was friendly and helpful. I bought some gizzards and a drumstick. Sadly, I wasn't very satisfied. I will say that I thought the chicken and gizzards had good flavor. I also know gizzards are chewy, but these were more crunchy and some pieces completely inedible. I felt like I could just suck the flavor out of them and spit them out. Maybe I was spoiled growing up with a local chicken joint that made the most succulent gizzards ever?! This was another stop on our Native Seattle Tourist trip. I happen to love chicken livers, gizzards and hearts, so I ordered the combo pack. It was only $3, and it's a pretty decent haul. My boyfriend just ordered the gizzards -- but they were soooo heavenly. The hearts and livers were my favorite. They weren't greasy at all, and the breading was perfectly spiced. The livers melted in my mouth, and the hearts were bursting with flavor and texture. I have to say, after eating all of these iron rich foods, I had a spring in my step and a song in my heart! The chicken - not quite fried, more like broasted - is the best I've ever had in the northwest. Amazingly succulent meat, perfectly crispy skin; the thighs are $1.35 each, I think, and you can't eat just one. Ok...so you need to come at the right time to get the best from this place. In terms of quality...it is best eaten right after ordering. Stand in the market with your napkins and paper bag and nosh right then and there...otherwise it isn't as good as it could be. On 2 previous attempts at getting chicken here I wasn't that impressed. But today I was able to get a fresh drumstick, just pulled from the fryer, and it was some of the best chicken I have ever had. Juicy, crispy, succulent...and all for $1.65. I almost went back later that day to get another one but my cholesterol talked me out of it. Chicken Valley is located in Pikes Place and one of the best quick pick up restaurants. On my first visit two years ago I thought the food was just alright but on my recent trip I was very impressed. I ordered wings and they were fantastic. The seasoning was perfect and they were cooked crispy yet juicy. Located in Pike Place Market, the prices here are fantastic. You get quality chicken at a fair price. It is cash only, so keep that in mind when ordering. The menu variety is pretty basic; however, everything is right there to see so there are no surprises! The one thing that was pretty annoying was ordering the sesame chicken skewer, which is covered thickly in sauce and being given such a small amount of napkins. When asked for more, you would have thought I asked for the entree free from the look of shock as I got one napkin handed to me followed by a second with a bit of resistance. On a fabulous Saturday afternoon while at work, I decided I wanted fried goodness. Chicken to be exact, so I logged on to the fabulous Yelp app and typed in fried chicken near me and low and behold Chicken Valley was what it told me to get. This place is amazing. It has fried chicken, corn dogs, gizzards, chicken on a stick, fried jumbo shrimp, fries, and much much more. Don't expect to find anything healthy here, this place is for days when you just want to be bad and cheat on your diet you're not really on! I went with the 5 jumbo shrimps, a thigh, and some fries. It was all reasonably priced, I think I spend somewhere around $13. The shrimp was crispy just like I like it, and the chicken well I ate the skin first. That's how you know you've got some delicious fried chicken. The service here was friendly and quick. I think I found my new guilty pleasure for work time lunches. Again the taste here is great but do expect a tummy ache after it, but trust me it's worth it in the end! read more

How that woman can measure is unbelievable. Today, she hit the nail on the head at 1/2 pound of gizzards and hearts for the guy in front of me. Then, she nailed it again with my 1/2 lb. of gizzards. She said she's just really good at that part... Strangely, this is probably one of my most frequent stops at the Market! Perfectly located to be easily accessible, yet just far enough away from the fish heavers to avoid the crowds of paparazzi tourists. Fried chicken gizzards are the appeal for me. They are just perfect. Seasoned and fried to an unhealthily delicious and chewy treat, they make a cheap meal all by themselves (well, for me they do). They also offer up fried chicken hearts and livers! Sure, they've got fried chicken there and it's not bad, but it's the organs that are the real treat! 1/2 lb. for $3.00 is plenty of greasy goodness to leave you satisfied as you walk around Pike Place. So to preface this, my girlfriend thought her thigh and leg was alright and the conditions that I ate the chicken in were not ideal. We got our food and it took back home which took probably 25 minutes. When I was ordering my food, the first portion came from under the heat lamp, and then the woman behind the counter microwaved more chicken, dropped it for a quick bath in the fryer and then finished off my bag (I probably should've left then). All of the chicken was placed in thin paper bags, inside of a plastic bag. By the time i got home, the paper bags had essentially melted and my strips was soggy and had a slimy texture to the crust, but the meat was still firm and leathery feeling. I reheated my chicken in the oven to try to rectify this. The skin crisped up and it became edible, but the chicken's texture was awful, and the flavor was basically non existent. It was a truly bad experience. Maybe if I was able to eat it immediately it would've been better, but it's not like the place has seating, but it was microwaved chicken. Chicken Valley is what it is, it's a decent fried food stand. Don't go here looking for anything else, but if you want fried food that's relatively cheap for the location, it's where to go. That said, since the food is fried ahead of time and sitting under heat lamps it can get a little stale.
