Hot dog topped with kraut, sriracha, mayo, mustard and relish. The works.

These guys are owed a beer for the many nights they've been friendly, helpful and just downright sweet to every drunkard that comes through their cart! I once dropped my hot dog in a state of fuzziness, and they replaced it right away. No charge. I suppose it's easier than hearing a whiny girl sob. And the grilled onions! I've tried to replicate it at home, to no success. The cherry on top are the sriracha, mayo, bbq, special mustard and fixings available. Now if they only had sweet pickled corn or some fake bacon, my universe would be complete.

Guilty Pleasure. How good can a 2am Polish hot dog with cream cheese and grilled onions taste? Pretty amazing, and that's not the beer talking either. Although it cost $5, the dog was sizeable and filling. It took a slow paced 1 hour wait and experiencing attitude from the late night hot dog guy (he wasn't too polite too polite to my group and the guy in front of me, is all I'll leave it at), but was well-worth the interesting experience. Next time I'd like to try Monster Dog to see how it compares.

This is 2007 and still the best veggie and cream cheese hot do I have had. Still thinking about it.

Nothing like a seattle dog after a night out on the hill. I'd highly recommend this spot to grab a dog on the go, so satisfying.

Each dog is only $5, and comes with cream cheese if wanted -a unique ingredient that I highly recommend trying.

First off, the only sign they have is three photos of a polish dog, hot link, or vegan dog all with relish and onions. The first three order, then we ask for two polish dogs, one with no relish just onions, and the two guys get really defensive, and start mansplaining that we're ordering incorrectly, we should order a NAKED dog. Hands us one dog with no onions, and we say we want onions, and they go "Bro I should just be SERVING not EXPLAINING" and we're like ??? Whatever. One dog down, meat and onions only. Next one, we ask for one regular polish dog and they start yelling about a Seattle dog vs a Naked dog and we have to be clearer if we wanted cream cheese and they complain some more to us not knowing how to order and when was it ever this difficult to just order a $6 hot dog on a late Saturday night!?!? Not everyone likes cream cheese on their freaking hot dogs or knows the proper hot dog terminology we just want food!!! JFC.... Needless to say, there doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about this one hot dog stand, out of the dozens within a square mile in Capitol Hill. Do yourself a favor and avoid getting lectured in how to properly order a hot dog and go get the same exact thing from any of the other stands, since they pretty much taste the same.

Several different options with hotdogs and polish sausage- my absolute favorites are the Seattle Dog and the Midnight Sophie. Whichever you choose- don't forget to ask for some of their homemade slaw to top that beautiful dog! I first found Secret Sausage outside the Owl and Thistle in Pioneer Square. Then outside the Clink after a game. It was an elusive Seattle street food treat- and in a lot of ways still is. They've expanded in recent years so sometimes you can find them at Microsoft campuses on occasion too. But I'll let you in on a little secret... they have a deal with the Thunderbird Tavern in Ballard. So if you're craving a Seattle Dog on a random Tuesday at 8:30pm for example... high tail it to the Thunderbird and get you one! Especially on a warm Summer evening: a Seattle dog with extra slaw, a glass of your favorite cold drink and a spot on the back patio - doesn't that sound so good right now?! Another favorite with Secret Sausage is The Firlander Sauce. While I personally am not a big fan of hot sauce, this spicy condiment has been a staple in our family for several years now. I've been told it makes a good gourmet hotdog over-the-top good! Ha! So if you're a hot sauce fan- it's a must try. Locally owned small business with a commitment to quality. Every hotdog I've ever had from them (ahem, and there have been a few over the years,) has been consistently good. Seriously, the best!

A Seattle dog is a quintessential food item while visiting Seattle. I am happy to say the Dog In The Park Seattle Dog lived up to my expectations. A crispy grilled dog, cream cheese, and plenty of grilled veggies. There are loads of toppings to choose from, too, but the young man serving up the dogs recommended just plain for the first time to really get the classic experience. I think some light mustard and maybe some saurkraut would have been a great addition. Friendly service and good recommendations for a first-timer, though.
