I was shopping in the area on a Friday night and decided to grab a sandwich from drive-thru as I was heading home around 9pm. The line in drive-thru did not look bad, there was about 5 cars ahead of me. The wait was horrible! It took over 30 min, I have never waited this long for fast food and it was not even very busy. I don't know what the problem was, but the wait was unacceptable! After finally getting to window, the employee apologized for the long wait, but offered no explanation why or even a free drink or anything. I paid and took my sandwich to enjoy on my drive home, but it was not exactly what I had ordered and chicken was very hot, like it just came out of the fryer. My first bite also indicated the chicken was a bit tough and undone. My guess is the long wait had something to do with being under-staffed and not being prepared to serve the customers. We've been to this location a bunch. Food is typically good. But the service here is just not what we expect from Chick-fil-a. Most of the time, the employees do not seem happy. Today was no exception. Not a single employee said "my pleasure" which I'm sure is ingrained in all employees during orientation. What cinched this review today was waiting at the counter nearly 10 minutes just to get my drink refilled. The manager, of all people, walked by me at least 4-5 times and never once acknowledged me standing there. Three other employees (none of whom were working the counter) also passed me by. One of them (at least the manager) could have said, "someone will be right with you." So if this is the manager's approach to customer service, it's all starting to make sense. Spend some time at the San Marcos location ( or ANY other location) to actually see the employees smiling. read more

Their food is actually pretty good but why do they have to make everything so salty? I like salty foods but wow they take it to the next level. Let it be their chicken sandwich, cobb chicken salad, chicken noodle soup, essentially anything with chicken in it is salty. I haven't tried their other locations so I don't know it's only this location. I did a catering order with this location recently and was very happy with my service. I called on my way over and spoke with the manager and he said everything was ready to go and within minutes I arrived and it was. The manager there was courteous, went through everything in detail and even offered to help carry my bags out. I declined but it was the full service and gesture that mattered. I also hit up that drive-thru from time to time and it can get busy- always efficient and my order is always right. Highly satisfied with this location and how it's run. read more

Very disappointed. Ordered a bunch of original style chic fil a sandwiches for my son's soccer team, only to find out from the pick up window staff person that they were out of their original chic fil a sauce. Really?u couldn't have told me that at the drive up window? It's like ordering a bunch of cheese burgers and then being told that "sorry, we ran out of cheese". I called when I got home and all I got was "sorry, we ran out if our signature sauce". That was it. So I politely responded with "you might want to inform your customers of that when they make their order, especially at the cost of over three dollars per sandwich and buying fir the whole soccer team" and all I got was "sorry ma'am." Food is always good. But would fire the store manager at this locations. Service is down right crap. A bunch of High School kids with very little understanding that service is key to a good experience when eating out. I stood inline for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me and when finally a server looked at me she waited another two minutes before she figured out I might want to order something. I might have understood if the place was busy but there were an entire two people in the place counting myself. Furthermore the place was dirty. So my advice to management is fire the entire staff and teach them a hard lesson. BTW just in case the management actually cares I was at this location on 12/13/14 at 8pm. The food is great here, as are the employees, the owner of this franchise is not. Their hours are constantly shifting, even if there's a pandemic, their fast food competitors and sibling chick fil a's maintain a standard that this location simply does not. As of right now they are supposed to be open, but yet when I call to confirm if they are open I get an automated hang up that says "we look forward to serving you during normal business hours, have a great day". It is 6:30 PM and you guys are open until 7! The employees at this place have always done the best they can, but this franchise operator has to sell this location to somebody that cares. Why is it that every other chick fil a has impeccable service and this place can't even figure out how to open for more that 5 hours a day Monday through Friday? I'm not going to lie, I probably eat here way too much. Like, WAY too much. That being said, spicy chicken sandwich and a shake or a frosted sunrise is my go to for a good day. I was in there today and noticed just how many people were in the back working and I mean really WORKING. Not just hanging out in the back and joking around. Everyone is courteous. Danny, the new operator, is so friendly and helpful. The 3 of us always go the Query Creek location on Marron road and have been very happy. Today we happen to be in Encinitas. Decided to try it. Well we were not happy at all. Ordered two original chicken sandwiches and one grill chicken sandwiches with fry's as a side. Opened the box and thought where's the chicken?? The chicken was so small the bun overpowered it. The bun must have been dry it fell apart halfway through eating it. Here's the kicker, a charge of .15 cents for one slice of tomato and .15 cents for one leaf of lettuce, and no pickle was included. Who does that??? I was wondering why the bill was almost 25.00. At least mention that there is an extra charge for the T&L. At Query Creek the size of the chicken was large enough you could taste it as you eat it., and not charged for the T&L. Very disappointing at least. two members of this group stated never again will come to this location. Burger King here we come!! (they do have chicken as well)!! I visited Chick-fil-A for the first time on Saturday. I was delighted to find quick food that was tasty and met my needs; I like to eat healthy and need to eat gluten-free. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I love the kid section for my girls where they had coloring sheets, crayons, and disposable plastic place mats available. The owner took my order. He was very kind and very helpful in deciding what to order. My girls ate every last bit of their grilled nuggets and fruit. I had the superfood salad and grilled nuggets (both were delicious). It was a treat to have a few options to choose from for a gluten-free meal. I grabbed a market salad to eat for lunch the next day. It was so fresh and good! I will definitely be back. read more

They messed up our drive through order only provided some of our order and not being accurate with it. The receipt was correct. We didn't check until I was at our hotel a 15 minutes away. When called they offered no way to rectify unless we returned to their restaurant. So after returning they only replaced the missing items. So not like the chick fil A service elsewhere. read more

Today is July 10th. Today is my 70th bday. Today is free chick fil a day. All i wanted for the first day of my 70th year of life was to purchase a cow costume and win some free chick fil a. Ah those scrumptious waffle fries! How i yearned for that taste on my tongue.. but no. Apparently it's "too late," the manager explained to me, even though i was there an hour before closing. This experience ruined my day and probably the rest of my 70th year of life. On top of it being my 70th birthday, my sweet wife of mine is sick and in the hospital and all she wants is some of the famous Chick-fil-A's homemade lemonade. Once again, a disappointment. If you're going to advertise for free Chick-fil-A then also advertise the times that this deal expires. And for this reason, i would never recommend this Chick-fil-A location again. read more

I went through the drive thru and ordered the chicken nugget 12 count order and a separate order of 12 grilled nuggets. Order was ready quick despite of lunch time... I get my food and drive away I reach into my bag before I get on the freeway and notice I got the wrong thing. I have to drive back now to get the correct thing. I call and the guy on the phone was nice but my daughter was crying so I had to hang up. I didn't have time to get down but I had to. I walk in and speak to a cashier this guy was short with me despite of their mistake I asked how long it would take and he said "I don't know" I asked him to please ask because I had to leave if it was too long I would need a refund he walked away while I was still talking. Their Grilled Chicken sandwich is just the best sandwich around. Grilled moist chicken breast, fresh lettuce and tomato, and a warm tasty bun. Lower in calories the most other chicken sandwiches at any other lunch location. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but worth every penny. You get your choice of sauces. My favorite is the Polynesian sauce, sweet and spicy. For fast food, this is the place. read more

The place was not busy when i ordered and i waited around for about 10 minutes before I ran out of patience for the teens working the shop, and I walked to the front to ask about my order. Apparently , they had accidentally delete my order... I guess I can't say I was surprised because the only workers are a bunch of teens.
