Aloha friends! Stopped at Carl's Jr. in Encinitas on Regal Road. The restaurant drive thru was busy, but inside was quiet. They were fulfilling drive thru orders and after a few minutes, an associate assisted me with my order. I was craving their Guacamole Bacon Burger (I'm always craving it ) so I ordered the combo. The burger consists of an all beef patty, two strips of cherry wood bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and a sweet Santa Fe sauce between a potato bun. I ordered a frosty chocolate shake and the combo included french fries. I was given a number and told that my order would be brought to my table when it is ready. I appreciate the table service Carl's Jr. offers. They brought my meal to the table and asked if I needed anything else. I requested ketchup and they brought it out to me right away. The burger was delicious. What really makes this burger is the guacamole, the Santa Fe sauce and the bacon. All of the flavors from sweet to salty hit the palate at just the right levels, topped off by a tasty charbroiled burger. If you like guacamole, I highly recommend this burger. read more

I had a nice experience at this Carl's Jr.. Brianna was very helpful. Being a vegetarian, she suggested their new fried zucchini sandwich, which was amazing! Chicken sandwich was good. Floor needed to be swept. Bathroom was dirty. Cashier was brusque if not actually rude.

0 stars. I went in to place an order, they took more than 30 min to give me my order to go. Staff in the kitchen had nothing ready. Staff did not wear gloves. Cooks kept going back & forth with what they had & didnt have. At the end they has already charged us for an item they didn't have. Not even giving us a refund. Poor service. Do yourself a favor and go to any other Carls Jr besides this one. We ordered the new Cali burger and a western bacon cheeseburger. The cali burger looks nothing like the picture missing onions and when asked they said they are chopped up and small. It was just the sauce from the burger not onions. Then they put tomatoes on my western and took them off. At least they made me a new western but then my patty came in 3 different pieces. Lastly we were eating our burgers in the dining room and one of the workers comes out on her break and has her phone blaring we could all hear the videos she was watching. read more

I'm the only person eating in there and the worker is sweeping the dirty floor all around me while she talks in Spanish on her ear piece. I asked her to stop sweeping around me while i eat and she says Im not bothering you. The bathroom smelled horrible and there was urine all over the toilet. Sucks. Don't go there plus the burger was mostly chewey dry buns. The younger woman was great, who took my order, but the pregnant woman was horrible! She shouldn't be serving the general public. read more

Food is good, The new Hangover Burger is pretty cool, The milkshakes are goated and the burgers are goated and so as their fries and sides.

I just don't get it. They're getting almost $20 an hour and the service just keeps getting worse and worse. So doing Keto and not eating meat makes eating on the go hard. I guess I could plan better but when it busy and I'm on the road it's great to have an option for a warm meal. Carl's Jr. beyond meat items give me just that. Today I tried the new Beyond Breakfast egg, sausage (fake meat) and cheese sandwich. I subbed out the biscuit for the lettuce. Maybe it's just that I'm ridiculously hungry but I really liked it! The sausage has a nice savory flavor that reminds me of the real thing. The egg and cheese with it gives it a more actual meal in a sandwich feel. The lettuce wrap actually was pretty good. I'm sure a biscuit would be better but I didn't feel too. As about stopping here for breakfast. This particular location is pretty good. They forgot my ranch sauce which sucked but they do the best lettuce wrap out of any location I've been to. Also they are pretty nice at the window. The drive thru is weird. You don't lay at the first window and they don't tell you that. No more Big Burger? So now I have to pay more for a smaller burger with a bunch of crap on it I don't want. The Big Burger was the closest thing to a Whopper. The French Fries are usually limp so now I have zero reason to buy anything here. Update: The Big Carl is actually the same size as the Big Burger so that's good. So i went this morning to get a burrito and asked for a couple of packs of salsa at the drive up window. it was a mobile order. The guy said he would have to charge me for any salsa? I said "Do you charge for packets of ketchup"? His response was that ketchup is cheaper for them to have to pay for and that the burrito has salsa on it. Now, I would hope that this Hispanic fellow knows the difference between salsa and pico de gallo. Anyway, i did manage to talk him into two packets of salsa which if i wanted, i could have went down to the local 7 Eleven and gotten a half dozen for free. Very poor customer service for this. If you whole operation relies on charging for condiments to make a profit, then maybe you should close your store. read more

Just beware that the spicy BBQ Western Burger with a Beyond patty still comes with real bacon inside. My dog benefited from me discarding the bacon so no big complaint. Just think it's a weird idea. Also, it is possible to forgo the American cheddar cheese to make the burger vegan. I was so happy when Carl's Jr. started to carry Beyond burgers. When I'm too lazy to break out the grill and grill my own Beyond patties bought at Whole Foods, I come to Carl's Jr. to get my burger and fries fix. The waffle fries are good here. The onion rings are okay. They are thick cut onions and I prefer onion strings. But they are crispy. Surprised that the veggies in my burgers are usually fresh tasting and looking. There is a weird smell in the restaurant. It might be from the toilets. But when I went to use it you need to get a token or a code from the front. It smelled so bad I didn't bother to ask because I was afraid of what was on the other side of those doors. There's also not too many options if you don't want a burger. I get that it's Carl's. I'm not sure if I should be embarrassed to say that I REALLY love the fried zucchini at Carl's Jr. I grew up eating these overly breaded things. There's *JUST* something about the seasoned breading and the cold ranch dressing for these suckers. Was driving up north and had the biggest craving for fried zucchini. This location is right off Santa Fe drive exit so it's pretty easy access in & out. Drive through was easy. Here's the trick to ordering ANY fried food at ANY fast food drive thru : ASK FOR THEM TO MAKE IT FRESH (OR FRY A NEW BATCH). If they disgruntingly mumble 'it'll take a five minutes' just say cheerfully 'no problem, i can wait' and thank them when you get your order. I didn't request the fry fresh during this quick drive thru order as we were in a hurry. But I was lucky enough to get a fresh batch of fried zucchini regardless. Friend order fried onion rings and wow were they horrible. I swear it had a 90/10 breading to onion ratio. There was SO much breading and very little onion. Plus the onion rings were over fried and tasted terribly dry. I asked for extra ranch dressing and they gave me one more which made it a grand total of two ranch dressings. Thanks man. I'm not entirely sure how we always end up at a Carl's Jr. drive-thru window in the wee-early hours of a weekend morning. I know part of it is my husband's recent hankering for biscuit-sandwich creations. I guess that's about all there is to it. We hit this Carl's on our way up to Disneyland this past weekend. When we pulled up to the menu board, we were greeted with, "Wlkmta Cah's junr, cannah (mumble, mumble) you?" Honestly, that's what we heard. We were fairly certain we were being welcomed to the drive-thru, and asked for our order, so my husband plugged away with his request. "Hi, we'll take one Sausage, Egg & Cheese biscuit combo with orange juice, and two extra Sausage, Egg & Cheese biscuits, please." Silence. The silence reigned for a good two minutes. Just when he was about to say, "Hello?..." she came back with, "You wanted a...what, now?" He repeats the order. She says, "What did you want to drink?" He tells her for the third time. Then she says, "What kind of biscuit combo was that?" Again, he tells her for the third time. Then she repeats the "order" back, leaving off his two extra biscuit sandwiches. He politely tells her that she'd forgotten part of our order. Silence. She came back a beat or five later, asking if we wanted any cookies or cheesecake to go with our order. (Never mind the fact it was 7 am!) Hubs declines, and repeats (again) that she hadn't added part of our order. She asks us *again* what our order was, and once he repeats it to her (for the FIFTH time!) she finally gets it and tells us to pull forward. The dining room (which we could see from the drive-thru lane) was empty. There weren't any cars ahead of us. So, why was she so distracted we had to repeat our order to her five times? No idea. The food was about what I expected. Their "freshly-made-this-morning" biscuits were crunchy and hard, and fell apart after one bite (which is always fun when you're in a moving vehicle...) My biscuit was warm-ish and fairly sloppily put together. The hash tots were good - better than I had expected them to be, at least. The last time I got these kinds of hash browns, they were super salty. These were more buttery than salty, if a bit colder than they should have been. All in all, it was okay for needing food in a pinch. Most of the stars I'm docking are because of the horrible drive-thru experience, though one star is being docked because biscuits should not be soft and flaky, not crunchy and fall-apart-y. read more

I went here on one of the hottest days of the year. I left and then went to enjoy my meal under a tree. But I remembered the heat inside the restaurant. The ladies working where sweating because of the A/C being out. And even with all this they gave me fresh fries and a delicious Western Bacon Cheeseburger! This was a very disappointing visit, as I'm a guilty eater of Carl's Jr. (pronounced Hardees back home). It could have been the fact I didn't order a beef item, but that's not a proper excuse. I ordered chicken tenders; what I received were OBVIOUSLY mechanically separated pieces of chicken mushed together, placed under some sticky white film, then coated in bread. There was more fat than meat, and the portion sizes were also small...more like chicken nibblers. Although I stumbled upon it by accident, the location would be easy to find, with other surrounding eateries nearby. In addition to the chicken I couldn't finish, I ordered salt-less fries, so they would be fresh and not contributing to health issues, but they were obviously salted...or, like some other places do, just refried to "knock the salt off." Best Meatless "veggie" burger I have ever had! I came, I saw, I really enjoyed the BEYOND BURGER! With all of the commercials I have been hearing and seeing about "Beyond" meatless meat products I had to give it a try. Carl's Jr. sells the beyond burger patty in its Famous Star but any burger patty can be substituted. It is probably the most similar to a real meat burger- meatless/ veggie patty I have ever had in my life. I think that any converted vegetarian that misses meat would be completely satisfied with this option. Why a vegetarian would wanna eat a flesh like veggie burger is another conversation? ;) read more
