Jordan G was incredibly helpful & prompt with our rekey after we moved into a new home. Definitely recommend!

I had an intercom system installed by then. They did a great job. So when I needed a few other things done for my business, I called them back. I called them to get a deadbolt installed and a master key for all my locks and it was honestly terrible service. When they arrived, the guy told me he didn't have enough time to do the master key system because his shift ended in an hour...despite me booking the appointment for 1-3p...him arriving right at 3p. Then he told me if he installed the deadbolt today and had to come back to do the master lock system, it would be two service fees. I definitely expressed my frustration because that was the entire reason for the appointment. After he looked at the front doors, rooms inside and the back door, he told me he couldn't do a master key system because I had a quick set handle but then Schlage locks, etc. what in the HECK?! Isn't that the point of a locksmith?! The only reason I called them instead of the other locksmith I've used for rekeying (nonstop) was because I used them for the intercom. Extremely dissatisfied in the service and the call. Basically paid $243 for installation of a deadbolt and he did change the lock on one of my doors...but I'm still left with 6 different keys because he wasn't able to do the master key. Next time I need an actual locksmith, I'm definitely going with nonstop. I've never had a problem with them. read more

I would give this company a BIG FAT ZERO if I could. After providing my address and waiting an hour for a technician to call me, the tech said he was on the way and that it would take 45 minutes. I wait another hour and then receive a call from the call center saying the technician had something come up and he wasn't going to be able to make it today. The caller provided no further information like "we'll be able to get someone out later today, tomorrow, or whenever". This seemed strange to me so I began to ask the caller various questions. In the end what I found out is that after making me wait and even saying they were on their they decided they didn't service my area or more accurately denied me service because of where my house was located. Can you say DISCRIMINATION???? read more

Ryan helped us rekey our lock that they had to redrill. He is amazing I definitely recommend!

Loved that the technician Dave showed up within 20 minutes with mask. Dave is very efficient and knowledgeable regarding my front door lock problem. The price is also very reasonable. Dave is absolutely a great technician to solve my problem within 30 minutes. Now I know why you guys have such a great reputation. Next time I will still choose the Chicago Locksmiths (hopefully no more next time). And yes, I strongly recommend you guys to my friends. read more

Nathan stopped by and quickly took care of my lockout issue. Pricing on the weekend is higher so I ended up paying $150 plus the extra charge for using a credit card which came out to $154. Pricey, but worth it for peace of mind and how speedy and efficient it all went. I'm happy with the service and would call them again if needed. read more

We needed some locks rekeyed and a lock solution for our front gate. Chicago Locksmiths were able to get us scheduled quickly, had reasonable rates and were very informative about options for our gate. We were able to get a keypad lock installed and have been happy with it so far. Our techs, Matt and Slava, were very kind and helpful. read more

The owner (Shay) followed up with me promptly after I posted my initial review and offered a credit that more than covered their service fee if I would give them a chance to make things right. Their locksmith, Matt, came to my house within the the time that we scheduled and was very helpful - he repaired one lock and replaced the door knob lock set on another door. Matt didn't try to upsell me on more expensive options to repair my door lock, which I appreciated. If I had not had the poor scheduling the first time I called, I would have left a 5 star review for the repair service. I'm upgrading my review from 1 star to 4 stars to acknowledge the good repair service and Shay's desire to make things right. read more

After posting a review, Chicago Locksmiths reached out to apologize. They refunded the key that didn't work PLUS compensation for my time and gas coming into the store. I didn't ask for that, and this update was not required to receive it. My takeaway from this experience is that Chicago Locksmiths is a company that cares about their reputation and is willing to do the right thing when they make a mistake. read more

Chicago locksmiths are my go-to. I've had some trouble with an electronic deadbolt and they've been able to fix it both times and keyed all my doors to match. They're very quick to respond and reasonably priced. Today I went to their storefront for the first time and Jordan was awesome to work with - setting me up with a couple extra sets of weird keys and picking out the best hide a key option. I don't hesitate to recommend these guys! read more

Chicago Locksmiths - Storefront with parking on the opposite side of Milwaukee. Very convenient. - Security Systems Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

During a week, and month, where the snow decimated the mobility of alleys, and cars parked behind their building, I lost my car key helping others shovel. It was a needle in a haystack. I didn't have a spare as I lost it a year ago on the Metra. Tow trucks wouldn't even come through the alley due to what's mandated by their operation. I needed my car to get towed to the dealership so they can make me the fob key(s), and work on a recall. With my car being stuck in the alley, Robert, the locksmith came through for me. He was able to get in with some light plowing done by the property management. Many thanks for their willingness and service when I couldn't get help from towing. State Farm Roadside assistance was down since they were in Texas, and Acura couldn't provide service either. Car is out of the alley, and I won't be back home until the alleys are plowed or the snow has melted. In any event, thanks again. read more

We needed a simple rekey for our front door and also had an issue with the strike plates in our door frame being improperly installed by our builder. It was extremely easy (and fast) to book an appointment with Chicago Locksmiths and the technician they sent out, Kyle, did a fantastic job. He had a much better proposed solution for the strike plate / door frame issue than I was thinking of and all of the charges were extremely reasonable for the work done. I didn't feel like he was trying to upcharge for every possible service he provided. Would definitely use again and recommend to anyone in Chicago. read more

I had several locks added due to security concerns. They didn't work...the technician returned and he could get the lock to work with some jiggling- this is a brand new. Another technician came for an unrelated lock and he did some work. The locks only work with a particular key. I had a different company come to look at it and fixed pins that weren't correctly aligned across several locks. Go to a different company! I spent over $3000 dollars with this company. They're terrible and incompetent. I chose to respond $1000 dollars to repair things correctly. What a wast of time, money and energy! read more

I locked myself out of my condo (whoops!) and needed a locksmith. It was after 8pm, so I called around quite a bit to find someone who could help. This service responded quickly to the Yelp feature that pinged a few local locksmiths. The person (CSR?) I initially spoke to was friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a call less than 10mins. later from a locksmith who was half an hour away. The locksmith, Jose, was also friendly and professional. One of the other locksmiths I contacted was rude and even kind of creepy, so that made me appreciate this team's professionalism that much more. This will be my go-to service from now on, though I hope I never need it again! read more

What do you do when your key gets stuck in your lock and your front door will not open because of it? Call a locksmith. I called Chicago Locksmiths and within an hour had a locksmith (Javier) at my house who got the key out easily, showed me what to do if it happens again, and then replaced a different lock that i had been procrastinating getting fixed. Javier was very professional, made me several extra keys, and was pretty quick about the whole thing. Hopefully I don't lock myself out again, or my lock doesn't break again, but if it does I know who I will be calling. read more

The incident happened a couple of months ago, after returning home from work I discovered I had lost the key to the main gate of my house. I have taken their services many times in the last 4 years and have never been disappointed. I like them for that because they respond very quickly and reach the customer without any delay.
