So I let my car air out for 1 entire day with the mats in the sun and then when I put them back in the car with the windows rolled up it still smelled like a musty motel room. Moldy Moldy eww. So I called the carwash and asked them what they could do to please fix this. Troung is the manager over the Carwash. I took my car in and he gave my carpets a sniff & assured me he would have them all better by the time I returned later in the afternoon. So I left Troung and his crew with my smelly carpets and left feeling hopeful. Success! I picked them up at 5pm and they smelled fresh again. My Advice: If you want them to condition your carpets - be aware that the carpets will be soaking wet when you get them back. So you have 2 options. Leave your car there and ask them to dry in the sun for you. or remember to get those carpets out at home and dry them yourself. Trust me, you DO NOT want to smell that smell. haha I was completely nauseated while driving for 2 whole days. With all this said - I do have faith restored in the Carwash here under Troung's watchful eye. My car was so shiny and nice & they were more than happy to fix the spots they had missed which ultimately left my car looking newer than it has from the Delta Queen. So don't be shy to ask for what you want if they overlook something there. I never got the stinkeye once during my complaints. Thank you, guys for making it right! read more

I would have given negative stars if possible! This place easily has the costliest gas in the neighborhood. Only reason I end up coming here is because of the "working" air machine. Today I was here for the same. Came and put in my quarters and the machine just wouldn't start up. So I went in to the "gas mart" and was told straight up: "that machine is not us. I try and positive reviews however, I am extremely disappointed with the customer service here. This review is for getting gas at the pump only. The other services seem fine. On Wednesday, I went here at 5:35 a.m. to get gas. I prepaid $20 inside and went back to the pump. To my dismay the pump was going at an extremely slow rate. I repositioned, still not pumping right. Thinking it was broken I went back inside only getting about 41 cents worth.The clerk seemed annoyed and said "Pay again, refund go to card". I asked him if he could put up a sign that the pump was broken and he said " pay and use other pump". Mistakenly, I put down another $20. I went to another pump and the same thing happened. I let the guy who pulled up next to me know so he wouldn't get stuck. Unfortunately, it happened to him too. The clerk ended up yelling at him and he left without gas which I thought was extremely rude. All he wanted was a phone number to complain. Like an idiot I ended up taking my chances since I was on empty and couldn't get to another station. About 3 other people also experienced the same problem. In all it took about 25 minutes to fill my tank about $20 worth. Luckily, I had the time and I got a Starbucks which was next door. I just wish the clerk would've have informed his manager of the problem but I guess they don't care. Many people had left upset. I understand things break but that's not good business to not let people know the gas pumps are not working. Yelling at your customers when they ask a question is definitely not way to treat others. I also understand that the clerk can't go outside to fix anything when he is the only one on duty but at least apologize and offer a phone number or a website to address the issue. After filling up my car with a full tank of premium and paying for that at the pump, I sidled up to the cashier's counter with my $1.95 fountain drink ready to swipe my Amex. I was informed that any card is a $5 minimum charge. Offended that during this pandemic the choices were either a) a $5 charge or b) handling cash and coin in a COVID year, I put my card away and sifted through bills in my wallet. Do NOT take your car to wash here. For $160 (plus tax) detail package they don't even dress your tires (looked muddy). They want to nickel and dime you for every little thing. Understanding the Tax code is easier than understanding their "packages". I have been going to this location for many years but recently the management seems to have changed. They have ZERO clue about customer service. They claim that they need to "follow the book". Well guys you first need to understand the basics of what a customer "needs" before writing your stupid "book". I selected a Full Interior detail package with full exterior wash. That was $159.95. I said I need a hand wash. They said we cannot do that unless I pay extra $5. That's what the "rules" say. I said ok fine do it. I come back and the tires are muddy and NOT dressed. Note: I have done car washes here previously and usually I pick a standard wash and pay extra for the hand-wash (tire dressing was always included). In fact most car washes in the Bay Area include atleast a tire-dressing (no big deal) for any package over $35. Takes 2 mins and 10ml of tire dressing liquid. Anyway, I pay the bill, tip the cleaning guys $10 and I ask them to dress it (thinking they just missed it...everyone makes an omission or error..no big deal) and the guys tell me that the Manager asked to NOT do it. Because he wants to follow his "book". And the wise manager tells me that the employees have been doing it wrong for so many years! (By accidentally dressing tires that customers didn't ask for). NOTE Folks: This is a turning point in the entire car-wash industry. So the manager tells me that they will NOT do it unless I pay an extra $6. I go inside get back in queue and make an additional payment and then they finally did the tire dressing. And they hand me a loyalty card. I said I don't need one since I will NEVER BE COMING BACK to this location. You can swipe that loyalty card up your Chevron @$$. Well come to think of it...why just cash wash? For Sta Clara, San Jose standards this would be one of my top car wash spot in the area. The car wash here is decent at best but compared to all the other car wash in the area you'll be happy with decent. Customer service isn't all that great but I think it has a lot to do with misunderstanding due to language barrier and the fact that some people don't even tip. read more

I have been to this station a few times. I have even used the car wash as as well. Here's the rundown: Gas: The gas here apparently has "Techron" or whatever Chevron is calling it these days. It's clearly a marketing gimmick. If they spent less money marketing their gas (with Techron) on television, radio, and the Internet - and more of it paying some guy minimum wage to stand with a brightly colored sign pointing out the strategic corner location of the gas station - it could make their gas a whole lot cheaper. But then again, all gas is overpriced. So in the end, this gas does the trick so it's A-OK. Gas rating: 3 stars. Car wash: It is an $18 dollar car wash. And that's only if you buy gas that same day. If not, I believe it is $22 or so. Regardless of the price, you are left with streaks on your windows, stains on your tires, and the interior of your car is left smelling like a dirty downtown San Jose club like Toon's. And when I say Toon's, I mean a mix of cheap cologne, spilled beer, and sweaty "hoo-ha." Car wash rating: 1 star. Overall rating: 2 stars. I've definitely had better. read more

They should rename this to Ranch Cicso Chevron, as either Cisco employees or rich Ranch 99 customers fill up here. It's the ultimate ripoff spot in the South Bay for gas. You should go to prison for the raping you put your wallet through if you get gas here. This is the only South Bay location I've seen that has gone over the $4.00 mark for gas, and yet it's still so busy. What the hell is wrong with people now-a-days? Are people willing to pay that much for convenience? Sure it offers Starbucks and a car wash. Go somewhere else. Only due to the Starbucks do they get two stars. Entrance had loud obnoxious Vietnamese talk radio going on, they try to sell you crap you don't need. Starbucks inside - that's cool, but benches outside would be better. But they use compressed air to blow water out of the door jambs, etc. This is really, really LOUD! Retreat into generic small Starbucks. After waiting in there forever, go outside, still haven't seen the car leave the carwash! What did they do, wash it in Fremont?!? See the guy have trouble driving it out of the car wash and then drives to where it can be dried. Oh brother! Waiting outside amongst the noise, the car starts to roll. I yell to get their attention. No response! I have to run out there and tell them the car is rolling! The handbrake is not on! Luckily it was mostly flat so it only rolled a few feet or so.... Then it took another ten minutes or so to dry it. Get in the car, found they did a crappy job of vacuuming it. By this, I've spent far too much time at this rathole and have to leave. What a joke of a place. Just glad the car wasn't hit as it was rolling. Go somewhere else. I talked to Truong and it was not the experience Jessica J. had had with him. It was more like talking to a hay-eena. So I had my car wash, afterwards there was a very strong windex smell inside. Strong enough that I my eyes stung and itched. Well I said, it'll go away, drove off and didnt want to roll the windows down because the windows just got washed. As the weekend rolled by the smell was still pretty strong, I began to get upset, I paid $25 for this crap, what the hell did they do? how did this happened? Inhaling this cant be good for anyone. Five days later it was still there and I decided to go back and tell them about it. Got to Truong and told him about it, he played along and listen, then he started saying maybe it's coming from the hood, or "a dead animal under your car"!!! And he pointed to my spotty window, "you washed it friday" "now so dirty". Bitch it's been five days, and i parked next to the sprinklers. This guy must be thinking i'm lying for some sort of free-bee. I assured him that I was not trying to get nothing for free, and that I just wanted him to know what happened. Don't you hate it when clueless people try to give you the run-around. And on top of that, try to insinuate that you're lying? The fact that I had was dressed in a shirt and slacks and had my badge on didnt matter, my face must have looked like a liar to him. I've been going here for years to get my car washed, and they always do an amazing job. I always get #3, which includes tunnel wash, tire shine, rim clean, inside/outside windows, dashboard wiped down, hand dry and fragrance (which I don't take). Friendly staff, and Starbucks with free WiFi in the waiting area. And for $20 + tip, it can't be beat. Great place, friendly people, and excellent results every time. Highly recommended. read more

This certainly is one of the most expensive places in Silicon Valley to get gas and I don't think it's going to change any time soon. That's why I don't purchase gas here. What I do like is their car wash. There are times when my car gets so grimy that I can't stand it. They do a decent job vacuuming the interior and washing the exterior. I request no fragrance be sprayed as the smell makes me sneeze. I do love driving away in a car that's all shiny, sparkly and clean. It's nice that they blow compressed air into the nooks and crannies of my car while it's being dried to make sure that there's no water residue to spot the finish as I drive away. This place also has a dear place in my heart. This is where I found my little kitty, Kokopelli, wandering around as a tiny kitten. UPDATE: 4/17/08 - Regular $3.97/gal, Plus $4.11/gal, Premium $4.16/gal 4 months later 4/15/08 - Regular $3.95/gal, Plus $4.05/gal, Premium $4.16/gal....OMG are we gonna see $5 by the end of '08 !?! When oil price hit the $100 a barrel mark this week, this Chevron charged $3.74 per premium (91 octane) gallon. I'm pretty sure the other grades were proportionately higher than other Chevron stations and brands. Sure it's got a decent mini-mart. Sure it's got the backing of a 'Hands-on' car wash. Sure it's anchored by an on-site Starbucks. Above all, it's got the year round support of wealthy Cisco, KLA Tencor and SanDisk campuses across the street which means they can afford to charge motorists an arm and a leg. Man, what a ridiculous 'DAYLIGHT ROBBERY RIP-OFF' place. If you need gas, try NOT to gas up here. Boycott this place and maybe they'll come down to earth a little. However, if you're one of those who can afford to have your car washed even on a stormy day while you sip lattes, by all means patronize this place. p.s. Boo to this Chevron's gas prices as well as their crappy car washes!! I can see how they really work the system, knowing that they are conveniently next to Cisco Systems and Ranch 99 plaza so they probably get a bunch of customers. I've always been disappointed by their pricier gas. But what I'm really unhappy about is the $17.95 car wash that I got on Saturday. Not only was it a pretty expensive wash, it wasn't that great either! I have a black car that took a beating from the rain and from the bird crap and needed to get it washed. Because I was in the area, I decided to give this gas station's car wash a try. The $17.95 car wash is pretty much the cheapest car wash you could get there and it was suppose to come with wheel shine, fragrance, interior vacuuming, etc. etc. The wheel shine came off by the time I drove back home, and instead of the fragrance wafer that they usually give out at other car washes, they sprayed a bunch of stuff all over and it made my car smell like an old lady was hotboxing her perfume in it. But most importantly, there were still remnants of bird turd left on my car, which they failed to wipe off. I pointed out a few spots for them to clean off, but they didn't work on the rest. This place is super convenient and quick and it's got a Starbucks as a plus. The problem is the staff inside the Chevron - there's a middle-aged man who is particularly rude to all customers. From denying customers *who bought gas* free air for their tires to belittling people for not knowing they need to enter their "pin code" for their CREDIT cards, the staff is knowledgeable and rude. I avoid going inside at all costs. There's a younger lady as well who will speak with customers of her same nationality/ethnicity for a long time holding up the line, and then be rude to anyone of a different nationality/ethnicity after. The store is consistently understocked. Two weeks ago I went in for sunscreen but couldn't find it. I tasked the man where it is, he snapped at me twice because I asked him more than once, and then he went and proceeded to see that it wasn't where he said it was. CAR WASH REVIEW: Paid almost $23 for full service because the inside of my car needed some serious vacuuming. You drive up, they had you their layout of what different packages you can choose from then you leave your car and pay inside. I was reading reviews while waiting - sitting inside of starbucks until I read all the reviews about belongings being stolen so I jetted my way outside to keep an eye out on my car. Also, they have plenty of chairs, tables, and shade outside to do so, so I would suggest to do that. Overall, I give them 1 star for the inside of my car being clean and 1 more star for cleaning the cobwebs on my side windows. But my hood was SO dirty still, it was as if it wasnt even washed. My boyfriend and I were confused cause we couldnt even tell if it was washed. My boyfriend kept rubbing the dirt off my hood in front of them and theyd come with a towel a brush it but that was it. Nothing would come off. I also chose a fragrance when I did the full service and there was no such fragrance as far as we could tell. read more

I went here on my day off to get a wash and wax. I expected to wait as it takes awhile, I even brought plenty of paper work to do as I waited. Imagine my surprise when they refused to wax my car. They said they were too busy for a wax and could only wash my car as they didn't have the manpower to do a car wax. They refused to take my money and do as they advertised to do. I've been to this location several times. Every time, without exception, the people working inside have been either counting money or sorting through receipts. (And this is during different days and times.) And, of course, while they're counting their money and/or sorting through their receipts, they ignore you. And make you wait. Today, when I walked in, there were two people working behind the counter. One looked and me and then continued to count money. The other shuffled receipts for a while and then looked at me and said hi ... and then continued to shuffle receipts. There was never a "hold on for a sec" or "can i help you". After about 30 seconds of being ignored, I left. I'll take my business elsewhere. The gas here is consistently more expensive as well. As much as 20 cents per gallon more than other places. I pretty much tell everyone to not get gas here unless you're empty. Lastly, the car wash, while it can be inexpensive, isn't great. They miss a lot of spots and leave a lot of streaks. Basically, your car isn't that clean afterwards. So if you like to pay a lot for gas, pay good money for a crappy car wash, or like being ignored, this is a great place to go. If not, there are other alternatives that aren't far away. Gas stations aren't usually known for great customer service. I get that. But when they just outright ignore their customers, well, I think that just shows what they really think of your business. read more

I hate to pile on but as someone who has worked in this area for the better part of the last decade I am absolutely frustrated with the fact that their prices are always at least 30 cents higher than anywhere else in the area. Yes I understand that the market sets the pricing and they are the only game in an area surrounded by companies such as Sandisk and Cisco but seriously my co-workers and I have been conditioned to "check the tank before you go to work" because if we dont have enough to make it home, then we are going to get gouged.
