Found this spot through the Peachy Eats Passbook (used the BOGO entrée), and it's definitely worth a visit! Great atmosphere, a lively bar scene, and some really standout dishes. What we ordered: Apps: * Fattoush salad - Fresh and full of flavor with crisp radishes, cucumbers, tomato, and a nice hit of sumac. * Dill labneh - Flavor-packed and delicious, though a bit thick, which made it harder to scoop with the soft pita. Mains: * Chicken barg - Phenomenal. Incredibly flavorful and easily the star of the meal. The house dressing on the side was addictive - I was literally scooping up extra rice just to dip into it. I substituted the rice for grilled veggies (up charge of +$7 felt extreme esp considering the entree was already $30) but the veggies were absolutely delicious. Squash, zucchini, peppers, onion, pineapple. * Honey harissa chicken - Disappointing. Lacked flavor, cook wasn't great, and didn't compare to similar dishes elsewhere (DelBar) * Adas pollo rice - Decent with a nice crunchy exterior, but overall just okay in both flavor and portion. Absolutely delicious. Chelo has quickly become one of my favorites in Roswell. Honestly, the food is even better than Delbar or Rumi's, which says a lot. Everything we ordered was a hit for the table. The falafel was perfectly crisp, the za'atar fries were addictive, the pita was warm and fresh, the dill dip was absolutely tasty and the hanger steak and allo pollo were outstanding. You can really taste the quality and care in every dish. Service was excellent from start to finish, and even the valet staff was wonderful and welcoming. I've been here twice now and the experience has been consistently great, which is so important. To update my prior review, I think the food has improved since their opening, and I find it to be very good overall. I just don't want to pay dinner prices at lunch. With that said, I've eaten dinner here and also had delivery from Chelo. The food is always tasty and enjoyable. Sometimes I think it may be a little bit overcooked, but the flavors are excellent, the food is good quality, and I normally enjoy whatever I order. 1st time here! Saturday lunch. The restaurant is very attractive. Booths, bar & tables with a warm vibe. The hostess was very pleasant. Our waiter arrived & gave us his favorites & tour of the menu. We tried the feta cheese roll-ups- delicious with an apricot sauce. They also bring out warm pita, olives & nuts. For my meal I had the falafel app which came with hummus & greens. So delicious. Ok so hear me out. This type of food is my jam. I feel like a 3 is harsh, but 4 is too generous. Hummus app was very ok, same with the fries. My chicken barg was good and comparable to other restaurants, but the rice didn't stack up for me. All in all, I just didn't think it was as good as Delbar, Yalda, or Rumi's. I'm sure there are key items here that they might do "better," but I did not have those. I also did not love the vibe if I'm honest. I don't think golf really needs to be playing at the bar tv of a fine establishment that is serving middle eastern food. I know it's to serve the clientele, but not my thing. I know a couple people who love this spot, so could just be me and my friends who came. read more

First time at Chelo for a mothers day lunch! They offer valet parking which helped since the parking in downtown Roswell can be chaotic at times. The inside was floral and cozy with indoor and outdoor seating options. You must get a chicken dish if you come here! The chicken kabobs were so tender and juicy - i highly recommend. I tried the beef and lamb as well and they didnt compare to the chicken. I really liked that each kabob plate got its own personal sized tahdig as well as a side of the house sauce. For appetizers - the bread, kashk bademjoon, and sliders were all just ok in my opinion. The service here is also pretty good. Chelo was a near perfect dining experience and took the top spot as my favorite Persian restaurant in metro Atlanta. We visited for my girlfriend's birthday after she had told me how delicious the food is and it was better than I could have expected. The ambiance is very upscale and nice and the service matched the ambiance perfectly. The food was far and away the best part of the experience though. We had struck out with some average experiences at some of the other Persian restaurants in the Atlanta area, but nothing disappointed. The appetizer of sabzi khordan with fresh, warm flatbread was a great starter to the meal. We also went with the dolma and Chelo dip to try before the entree came out, both of which were delicious. We decided to go with the Chelo sultani for our main with chicken koobideh and sabzi polo. There really wasn't anything to critique as everything tasted delicious at a great price. To finish things off, we got the chocolate cake and some complimentary baklava, both of which were again, delicious. Beautiful space! Perfect date spot. The food is really good. I had the chicken Barge with salad instead of rice. It is a large amount of food. The drinks are really good. I had a cosmo and a glass of champagne. The champagne glasses are so pretty here and they have a beautiful bar. The only reason I didn't give a 5 is that it is fairly loud and the tables are super close together. They do have some booths and seats kind of on the end that would be possibly quieter. We had great service overall. I would compare to my favorite place Rumi's type of food. Parking is also difficult. They have a tiny valet lot which was full upon arrival so we parked and walked a pretty long way. Roswell parking should improve with new parking deck opening soon. They do have an outside porch which would be nice if they heated/opened that then spread tables out more. read more

We had the fries (incredible!), Chelo Dip, Coban Salad and a few others. All really good. I ordered the Chelo Sultani beef filet with beef koobideh. The filet was very tender and well seasoned, as was the beef koobideh. I couldn't quite finish all of it. They had a nice wine list and drink list as well. We came here in two occasions, the first visit was phenomenal. However, the second we were 5 adults and 2 babies and we ordered quite a bit of food and it was so good, no complaints! Service was a bit slower this time but it was also 6pm. We were charged gratuity on the bill automatically- which I had confirmed with the manager after how it works and it's for 6 adults or more- our server did not know this which I think is just negligence. I think Chelo is probably great however I feel we went on the wrong day at the wrong time. When we got there we thought it was closed. As everything looked pretty dark and quiet. We decided to try to open the door and realized it was actually open. Only few people were inside dining. Our waiter was ok, not really engaging. Maybe the fact we got there at 2:00pm? Not sure. They were not playing any ambient music. I wonder why. The food was ok. Falafel was a little dry and so was the Koobideh. My lamb kebab was flavorful but a little tough. We had their Sparkling Berry cocktail (beware, this is large and strong!) and their Desert cocktail (our fav!!). Came here with friends while I was visiting Atlanta and had a great meal! The space is really cute with moody lighting and lots of greenery. Our server was prompt and efficient. We started with an order of dolma which were very tasty. We also got the baba ganoush and Chelo dip, both of which were very tasty and the bread served with it was pillowy and warm. For my entree, I got the chicken sultani with the beef koobideh and the baghali polo ( the one with dill and fava beans). I absolutely loved it and I'm still dreaming about the dill rice. The first thing that caught my eye was the absolutely stunning bar - it truly served as a beautiful focal point for the entire space. There was also inviting greenery decor, which added a vibrant touch. While the ambiance was a delight, parking proved to be a bit of a challenge, even with their own lot. I order a drink which arrived in a charming copper glass, a nice detail. Grape leaves for appetizer was great. For our main course, we opted for the lamb kabobs and the lamb sandwich. Both were good! Went to Chelo for lunch and the food was great! We had smoked eggplant and stuffed grape leaves as appetizers and i had the lamb shank with possibly the best rice ever. Out off the rices they have, I had the one with raisins, lentles with crispy onions on top. Perfect with the lamb, just like the server suggested. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. Chelo is a quaint, little restaurant located in the heart of downtown Roswell. Complementary valet parking is offered and there is also self-parking nearby. We came for a birthday dinner and opted to sit inside due to the better ambience. The patio was covered in bright lighting and surrounded by glass walls and didn't have much of an ambience to enjoy however, many guests seemed to enjoy sitting out there. We each started off with the sparkling berry cocktail, which was served in a huge goblet and consisted mostly of berry juice without any noticeable vodka. It was a large portion size, but very weak and watery. The waiter seemed very busy and preoccupied with other tables, but offered adequate service. We decided to do a family-style dinner and ordered the ghormeh zabzi, the lamb shank and the chicken kebab. The food was tasty and flavorful, but the portions were small compared to other Persian restaurants, especially in regards to the rice portions. They offered a baklava dessert and the baklava was quite dry and mostly consisted of Filo dough and needed more honey. All in all, it was a pleasant dining experience but it just didn't have the WOW factor. read more

First and foremost what a beautiful renovation from the space that was previously there, it's so chic and lovely. We sat at the bar, were immediately greeted by 2 bartenders who were beyond attentive and helpful throughout the night. We sat there for practically 4 hours eating , drinking and enjoying ourselves. The food was delicious. Mediterranean spices, big flavors and I must say the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The cocktails were unique and soooo good. This beautiful little Mediterranean restaurant perfectly executes the best of this type of cuisine. Combined with top tier service, this has made my list of favorite restaurants in the Northern burbs of Atlanta. I started with a Turkish coffee. Not for the faint of heart! But if you've ever had Cuban coffee, sort of similar. Small, potent, and full of robust deep coffee flavor. We shared feta rolls drizzled with a sweet sauce. We shared a salad that was similar to a Greek Salad, full of flavor and healthy stuff. Next, I had the filet Kabob with a unique rice side that makes your Momma's rice look like child's play (sorry Mom). The Kabob was very tender and very flavorful. The way steak was meant to be cooked. For a cocktail, I had the Elixir. It's their take on an old fashioned. Not too sweet, and definitely not traditional, but POTENT and delicious. I'm glad I only had one as it creeps up on you. I've tried dozens of Mediterranean restaurants in the Atlanta area. This is one of the few I'll be going back to. read more
