Ok so hear me out. This type of food is my jam. I feel like a 3 is harsh, but 4 is too generous. Hummus app was very ok, same with the fries. My chicken barg was good and comparable to other restaurants, but the rice didn't stack up for me. All in all, I just didn't think it was as good as Delbar, Yalda, or Rumi's. I'm sure there are key items here that they might do "better," but I did not have those. I also did not love the vibe if I'm honest. I don't think golf really needs to be playing at the bar tv of a fine establishment that is serving middle eastern food. I know it's to serve the clientele, but not my thing. I know a couple people who love this spot, so could just be me and my friends who came.

1st time here! Saturday lunch. The restaurant is very attractive. Booths, bar & tables with a warm vibe. The hostess was very pleasant. Our waiter arrived & gave us his favorites & tour of the menu. We tried the feta cheese roll-ups- delicious with an apricot sauce. They also bring out warm pita, olives & nuts. For my meal I had the falafel app which came with hummus & greens. So delicious. I also tried the rice dish with pistachios, bayberry & citrus. This was so amazing with the flavors. Hubby had the lamb sandwich with fries. It was on ciabatta bread. A great experience overall with great tasting food & wonderful service. Will definitely go back. Great place to try & share apps with friends.

Champagne! Loved this pretty glassware!

Beautiful space! Perfect date spot. The food is really good. I had the chicken Barge with salad instead of rice. It is a large amount of food. The drinks are really good. I had a cosmo and a glass of champagne. The champagne glasses are so pretty here and they have a beautiful bar. The only reason I didn't give a 5 is that it is fairly loud and the tables are super close together. They do have some booths and seats kind of on the end that would be possibly quieter. We had great service overall. I would compare to my favorite place Rumi's type of food. Parking is also difficult. They have a tiny valet lot which was full upon arrival so we parked and walked a pretty long way. Roswell parking should improve with new parking deck opening soon. They do have an outside porch which would be nice if they heated/opened that then spread tables out more.

We found ourselves at Chelo. From the moment we arrived, its unique charm was clear. The exterior was eye-catching, but the interior was even more impressive. To fully take in the beautiful dining room, we decided to sit at the bar. With a focus on eating more protein, I chose the hummus. It was a delicious and satisfying choice. For a drink, I challenged the bartender to create a spicy martini, and they absolutely delivered. While I don't recall the name, it had a bold, fiery bite that was unforgettable. The service was amazing. Both the bartender and servers were incredibly sweet and attentive. Although the pita bread was a bit overcooked and dry, the hummus was ok. I decided to try the baklava ice cream sandwich for dessert. This treat was nothing short of amazing--a perfect blend of sweet and savory that I could have eaten all day long! Chelo is a true hidden gem in Roswell. It's the kind of place you might miss if you blink, but it's well worth seeking out for its incredible ambiance, unique cocktails, and truly unforgettable dessert. #ashsaidit

Chelo was a near perfect dining experience and took the top spot as my favorite Persian restaurant in metro Atlanta. We visited for my girlfriend's birthday after she had told me how delicious the food is and it was better than I could have expected. The ambiance is very upscale and nice and the service matched the ambiance perfectly. The food was far and away the best part of the experience though. We had struck out with some average experiences at some of the other Persian restaurants in the Atlanta area, but nothing disappointed. The appetizer of sabzi khordan with fresh, warm flatbread was a great starter to the meal. We also went with the dolma and Chelo dip to try before the entree came out, both of which were delicious. We decided to go with the Chelo sultani for our main with chicken koobideh and sabzi polo. There really wasn't anything to critique as everything tasted delicious at a great price. To finish things off, we got the chocolate cake and some complimentary baklava, both of which were again, delicious. Overall, I can't wait to return to Chelo for another great meal with amazing service and even better food.

Everything here was amazing. The service here was top notch- they were attentive to detail and provided wonderful insight on the menu. All of the food had wonderful flavors and the portions were very filling. This is a wonderful spot for a date night

We came here in two occasions, the first visit was phenomenal. However, the second we were 5 adults and 2 babies and we ordered quite a bit of food and it was so good, no complaints! Service was a bit slower this time but it was also 6pm. We were charged gratuity on the bill automatically- which I had confirmed with the manager after how it works and it's for 6 adults or more- our server did not know this which I think is just negligence. I would happily pay for the service I received and normally there are signs or something alarming their customers about this. I just thought that was not appropriate.

I know most locals go to Rumi's for their Persian food, business dinners etc but I travel to the area monthly and I stumbled upon this gem in Roswell and will definitely be my new go-to for Persian food. Quaint, classy and outstanding food, tucked away in a little nook off of the Main St of Roswell. Beautiful interior, but the food did it for us. Everything was spot-on delicious, fresh, flavorful- will be back next trip!

I think Chelo is probably great however I feel we went on the wrong day at the wrong time. When we got there we thought it was closed. As everything looked pretty dark and quiet. We decided to try to open the door and realized it was actually open. Only few people were inside dining. Our waiter was ok, not really engaging. Maybe the fact we got there at 2:00pm? Not sure. They were not playing any ambient music. I wonder why. The food was ok. Falafel was a little dry and so was the Koobideh. My lamb kebab was flavorful but a little tough. I like the fact you get your individual rice with tahdig, my shirin polo (rice) was yummy. We will try it again and hopefully add one or two stars.

Chelo was perfect! Valet parking was complimentary, the service was attentive and our server was really sweet, and the food and drinks were so good. We had their Sparkling Berry cocktail (beware, this is large and strong!) and their Desert cocktail (our fav!!). For food, we got their Chelo dip (the jalapeños added something different!), Lamb Koobideh, and Chicken Barg (both tasty), with Sabzi and Shirin Polo (the savory and sweet mix was perfect). We went on a Saturday night, made a res for 4:30 since there were none available otherwise but it was pretty quiet until around 5:30.

We mostly came out to drink and I enjoyed all of the cocktails. Especially the Desert and Souffle. We did order a bit of food and everything tasted very good. The people working here are friendly and do a good job checking in.

Came here with friends while I was visiting Atlanta and had a great meal! The space is really cute with moody lighting and lots of greenery. Our server was prompt and efficient. We started with an order of dolma which were very tasty. We also got the baba ganoush and Chelo dip, both of which were very tasty and the bread served with it was pillowy and warm. For my entree, I got the chicken sultani with the beef koobideh and the baghali polo ( the one with dill and fava beans). I absolutely loved it and I'm still dreaming about the dill rice. Highly recommend!

Fantastic food, service and ambiance. The feta rolls were unique and delicious. Wonderful plate with pita bread as a complementary starter. I had a salad and chicken skewers as a meal and both really unique and tasty. Great location just on the other side of Canton street.

We started with the pimento cheese dip and were both surprised to find that it was served hot along with several pieces of soft, warm bread. It was SO good and a nice change from the way that most other restaurants serve their pimento cheese. Even hubby loved it and he is usually not a fan of cheese. For my main, I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that this is THE BEST MEAL I have had in a really long time. Total comfort food that hit all the right spots on this chilly afternoon. The cheese on the sandwich was just the right amount of ooey gooey and the tomato soup was perfection. I was tempted to lick the bowl when I got to the bottom, but that wouldn't be very dignified while dining out, so I did the next best thing by sopping up the residue with what was left of my sandwich. It was delicious and I will be back for more soon. Hubby ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was the best chicken sandwich he has had. He is hard to please, so between the pimento and sandwich, 1920 achieved the improbable in impressing hubby. Service was impeccable. The main reason we had not come back in a while is because it is a small space and can feel pretty congested when it fills up, which is not the most comfortable. We don't like feeling crowded, but after today's visit, we decided that the limited space is a small price to pay for amazing food and service, so we will undoubtedly return soon. Perhaps we will try sitting outside instead when the weather cooperates. Big thanks to 1920 for starting our new year off on the right foot!

After sitting for 25 minutes with no greeting, we stopped the hostess to ask if we could order. She seemed surprised that no one had helped us and came back about five minutes later to take our full order. It took 45 minutes after being seated to finally get our drinks. The excuse? "No clean wine glasses." At that point, I would have gladly taken my wine in any clean glass they had. The only reason we stayed was because the band was genuinely good. Meanwhile, the food runner wandered from table to table "auctioning off" dishes because he clearly didn't know where anything belonged. When our food arrived, it actually tasted good - but the service issues overshadowed everything. After we finished eating, our server disappeared again. We eventually had to get up and find her just to get our checks. Part of our friends' order ended up on our bill, but we didn't bother waiting for her to correct it. To top it off, there was a random 3% service charge (for what?) and an automatic 20% gratuity added because there was a band. Not cool, especially given the terrible service. The entire restaurant felt unprepared and overwhelmed, and no one ever apologized for the extremely long waits. Will I go back? Probably not. The prices are far too high for the level of service we received.

The dining area feels intimate and artistic, and they also offer patio seating, which is perfect as we approach southern summer nights.
