The raw bar is a centerpiece of this menu, so that's what we came for. I ordered a dozen raw oysters. They arrived smelling strongly of old fish, with a slimy film across them. Because I didn't want to be unfair, I tasted one before saying anything -- my sense of smell wasn't the problem. I sent them back. A second dozen was brought out with assurances that these were fresh. They were not. Identical smell, identical film. I tasted one of those too, for the same reason. Identical result. At that point the kitchen tried to make things right by sending out fried oysters, apparently to prove the product was fine. The smell of old fish coming off that plate was overwhelming before it reached the table. I didn't eat it. I left dinner having consumed a few fries off my dinner partner's plate, and we went home and ate there. I want to be fair: the staff were pleasant and clearly trying to recover the situation. But the recovery was the wrong one. When a customer sends back raw shellfish because it smells spoiled and confirms it by taste, the answer is to pull the oysters from service and check the rest of the batch -- not to plate a second dozen from the same source, and certainly not to fry them and send them back out. Spoiled raw shellfish is a genuine health risk, and it was served to me twice. One more observation. At 7pm on a Friday night, we were the only guests in the entire dining room. An empty room and product this far past its prime tend to be related problems. The one unqualified bright spot (hence 2 stars vs one): the guitarist. He was genuinely excellent -- great player, great song selection, and the only reason the evening wasn't a total loss. I hope he finds a venue that matches the quality he's bringing. I won't be back, and I'd skip the raw bar here entirely. read more

This was literally in the same parking lot as the gas station. The people inside were supper nice.. bartender was awesome, and even the door guy was really nice. The food was really good! Top notch flavor. I really didn't expect this when we walked in. After a bit this place transformed into a dance club with a DJ, they cleared the tables off the floor, set up the lights and then the place was bumping! It never really got busy but they had only been open for a little while back then. It was a cool find! Interesting to say the least... but I am still surprised about the food. I heard good things about this restaurant, but was disappointed. The service was good, the live music was good, but the food was not. We ordered the grilled oysters and brussels to start. The oysters were not good and the Brussels were burnt. For the entrees we ordered the seafood pasta and the seabass. The entrees were very bland. This place was a huge disappointment. We had reservations and were seated right away, but that was the only smooth part of the night. After sitting for 25 minutes with no greeting, we stopped the hostess to ask if we could order. She seemed surprised that no one had helped us and came back about five minutes later to take our full order. It took 45 minutes after being seated to finally get our drinks. The excuse? "No clean wine glasses." At that point, I would have gladly taken my wine in any clean glass they had. The only reason we stayed was because the band was genuinely good. Meanwhile, the food runner wandered from table to table "auctioning off" dishes because he clearly didn't know where anything belonged. When our food arrived, it actually tasted good - but the service issues overshadowed everything. After we finished eating, our server disappeared again. We eventually had to get up and find her just to get our checks. Part of our friends' order ended up on our bill, but we didn't bother waiting for her to correct it. To top it off, there was a random 3% service charge (for what?) and an automatic 20% gratuity added because there was a band. Not cool, especially given the terrible service. The entire restaurant felt unprepared and overwhelmed, and no one ever apologized for the extremely long waits. Will I go back? Probably not. The food was just ok, the prices are high and I have had better, food didn't come out super hot like I like it but the ambiance was nice and my B/F pork chop was not that great, the cut had a lot of fat on it and it was undercooked, had to send it back to be cooked a little more and I asked them to warm my seabass and spinach up bcuz it was Luke warm when it came out I like my food hot. service was pretty good . Slight confusion in getting here (1st Time) as it's located in the corner adjacent to a gas station storefront. Once you park & go inside...let the good vibes roll. The full-service restaurant & bar is bigger than what you anticipate. There's a quaint VIP (I presume) area to the right as soon as you walk in. The sprawling bar is donned with luxe lighting fixtures & decor with dedicated High-Top Bar tables. Once you pass the bar, you enter the spacious dining area & stage with two baby grand pianos for the perfect aesthetic. Food-wise, there's a lack of options for plant-based eaters. At this stage of burgeoning flexitarians, restaurants should offer at least the Beyond and or Impossible burger at this stage. However, their website does have a "Vegan Menu" page coming soon. With the proactive Carly on my side, I ended up with the Smoked Eggplant, tomatoes & garlic blended into a dip of sorts with grilled Pita points...with a side of French Fries. My musical BFF had Calamari & Grilled Salmon. The wine list is extensive as Carly introduce us to a new Cabernet - 'Austin Hope' & we were delighted with her suggestion as it pairs well with seafood. The menu is varied with lamb, ribs, poultry & seafood options - good portions & matchable prices. Acoustic Soul was the live music for the evening, a two-member cover band who did their thing with a diverse setlist. Good performance & interaction with the customers which made the sing-along more entertaining. An enclosed sidewalk patio will make its debut soon. Parking is available in the storefront parking lot & other options across the street. I highly suggest The Gaslight for its creative collection of live music, dancing, libations, late-night dining & Brunch amongst a luxe & speakeasy lounge backdrop. The Gaslight is an undiscovered gem of a restaurant. Had dinner on a Saturday around 7:00 pm and there were only two other tables with diners, so we were curious how the quality would be. We were not disappointed. Everything, from the cocktails to apps to mains were absolutely fantastic! My friend and I split the 32oz dry-aged Tomahawk T-Bone steak and it fantastic. Literally, the best steak either of us has ever had (and we know great steak)! Beet salad - large and delicious Small charcuterie plate- so much meat and cheese, we thought we ordered the large by mistake. Crab cakes - lots of crab, not overly bready; great! We did not have dessert but they sounded great. I cannot explain why this restaurant was not packed on a Saturday but when word gets out about how great it is, I expect that to change. Located inside the gas station plaza by the Roswell breweries this is the place to be for late night drinks! They are open later than all the other bars/restaurants from what I've seen! Their nachos which I made vegetarian are (15$) really good and large portions! Free parking in front of gaslight if you're able to snag a spot as well! Mixed drinks are 12-15$ and the beer options are your standard beers 420, miller light, high life etc. seems a bit of a missed opportunity to offer local brews! They also have live music from time to time. Service was very attentive and kind. Note: I've been here a couple of times around 7pm and it's very quiet it's more of a late night place if you're looking for ambiance. read more

We had actually just had some snacks and drinks in Roswell on Sunday, and were walking back to our car when we spotted this place. We paused for a second and Mike, the owner, had stepped outside and waved us in - this turned out to be a VERY good thing, because we went in, sat at the bar, and became immediate fans of this spot. Mike poured us some drinks, and we then had one of the most amazing tastes of delicious food we've had in a good while. Here's what we tried: 1. The grilled oysters - unbelievable. We live part time in New Orleans, and Mike's grilled oysters rival Drago's and some of the others there. 2. Lobster! It's tough to find really good lobster around here, in my opinion, and these folks do it well. The fried lobster app was superb, and I cannot wait to try the grilled version down the road. 3. Filet - perfectly cooked. An amazing steak. Mike also gets proper raw oysters (he gave us a sample and they were divine). Deep shells with proper salty brine, he gets them in from up north. Probably one of my new favorite spots here, and we'll definitely be back often. Three days ago, my parents and I went out to the Gaslight for dinner. The inside was nice, somewhat of a speakeasy kind of feel with a stage for a live band. What took us by surprise is we were the only customers in the restaurant. Our server mentioned that Wednesday is their slowest day, so much so that the chef was in the kitchen cooking by himself. I am pretty sure it gets busy on the weekends. As for the food, extremely well done. While I had the lamb shank and my mom had the red snapper, my dad had the rack of lamb, the best lamb dish I ever tried. My dish was excellent as well but when I go back to the Gaslight, I am definitely getting the rack of lamb. If you prefer a more quiet environment to eat like we do, come on any other day except the weekends. The Gaslight definitely is ideal for a romantic date night in both atmosphere and food. read more

Went there during their dinner hours to just get dessert. Seated immediately but it took 15 minutes for us to get menus and waters, while everyone who walked in after us got them immediately. We placed an order for two drinks and a piece of cake. Got the drinks, then sat there for an hour with no cake and no waitress in sight. Zero complaints other than the food is very expensive (but the portions are generous) and I had to park at City Hall because there's very limited parking in the lot and the signs are clearly marked for the other businesses. The musician was a guitarist who was very good. I had shrimp cocktail which comprised six huge but expertly cooked shrimp with two dipping sauces and a watermelon arugula salad with a large wedge of feta (which could've been a meal). I also had a chocolate vanilla cake that came with some ice cream and strawberries with whipped cream. It was $18 but probably could have been shared by three people (still, kind of pricey). The space is beautiful and the service was good. We left before the dance music came on. read more
