Steamed Dim Sum Combos. ( ^_^)b
Kevin M.

SGV passport x Chef Tony Dim Sum. We came by to redeem our free Steamed Dim Sum combos. The location wasn't too busy as we came by closer to the end of the day. The interior is huge and came accomoddate a lot of customers. Staff here were cool and took good care of us the whole time. We ordered our two combos from the passports and we ordered some extra shrimp har gow, pork buns and cucumber appetizer. The food came out all together and we enjoyed everything. The sampler combo was a good option and had a few tasty options from that container. My personal favorites are always going to be the Shrimp Har Gow and Chef's Tony's were delicious and filling. Their menu is vast and they have a lot of items I'd like to try in the future. Overall, the food was good and the staff were welcoming. I'd like to return again at some point. ( ^_^)b

Wow, it has been 4 years since my first review for Chef Tony Dim Sum in Arcadia. Time flies when we're enjoying great eats. It's time for an update... I recently purchased the 2026-2027 MySGV X 626 Night Market Passport Limited Edition valid through June 30, 2027. What a spectacular food passport with amazing free offers! Chef Tony Dim Sum is 1 out of the 24 participating restaurants in the MySGV food passport. It was my very first restaurant visited and my very first stamp acquired. Cool beans! Free offering was 1 Steamed Dim Sum Combo for dine-in only. No substitutions. Not valid with other offers. Thanks Chef Tony Dim Sum! Dim sum combo came with 1 radish cake with preserved meat, 1 steamed BBQ pork bun, 1 shrimp dumpling with chives, and 1 lava egg yolk with gold foil. Every item in the combo tasted delicious. Flavors were on point. Portions were good. If I had to rank them from top to bottom picks, it would be (1) shrimp dumpling, (2) lava egg yolk, (3) radish cake, (4) BBQ pork bun. I dined-in on an early Sunday evening. They were not busy at all. It must have been the heat... maybe no one wants to eat out on a hot day. Restaurant was clean and in tip top shape ready to receive customers. Staff and service were great. Food came out timely. Although it seemed as though they steamed the dim sum to order because each item pretty much came out one at a time. No biggie. I rather eat my dim sum hot and fresh than cold and stale. I didn't just come here for the free food. I love to support local businesses whenever I can. I also ordered other dim sum and appetizers. 1. Cucumber Salad with garlic and vinegar - cucumbers were crisp and crunchy, but not very fond of the dark vinegar taste, will not get again 2. Shrimp Dumpling - very tasty, but portion could be a bit bigger 3. Steamed Chicken Feet with brown sauce - I have had better, could have been a bit more tender 4. Eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste - BEST pick ever! YUM... highly recommend for all eggplant and shrimp paste connoisseurs! 5. Sticky Rice Balls stuffed with egg yolk - surprisingly good, lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, egg yolk was sweet and tasty Total bill was $45 covering the purchased dim sum items plus tax and tip and excluding the free combo. Pricing was a bit higher than most dim sum places, but it's all good. This is just the beginning to MySGV food passport adventures. Can't wait for my next food spot stop and stamp!

Our family went to try this place because of the 626 Passport book on a Saturday morning. We were immediately greeted by the staff. Their wait service was great, but unfortunately their dishes had mixed reviews amongst the family. We have had better dim sum in the SGV and I did not think any of them were outstanding and the turnip cake, rice wrap and fried pork dumpling were underwhelming. However, my youngest enjoyed the juicy pork dumplings, cucumber salad (not pictured) and fried chicken wings. My wife liked the sampler and the chicken congee (not pictured). The inside is very elegantly decorated and clean, great place to bring company, so that also helped to elevate the overall experience. Pricing is reasonable, all things considered, so I might consider returning and trying other dishes for a hopefully better food experience.

Pan Fried Taro Cake or 香煎芋絲餅 $7.38
Kay M.

Came on a weekend evening. Parking wasn't hard to find even though it was limited. Saw that they were a Mechlin Star restaurant and wanted to check them out. There wasn't a wait, but the place was almost full. Got the Pan Fried Taro Cake or 香煎芋絲餅 for $7.38, Wood Ear Salad with Mature Vinegar or 陳醋雲耳 for $9.98, Stir Fried Pork with Dried Bean Tofu or 香干炒肉 for $19.80, and Steamed Dim Sum Combo or 蒸點四拼 for $10.98. Ordered white rice for $2.00 a bowl. The Pan Fried Taro Cake or 香煎芋絲餅 was really good and crispy. The Wood Ear Salad with Mature Vinegar or 陳醋雲耳 was descent. The Stir Fried Pork with Dried Bean Tofu wasn't in the paper menu, but was in the book menu. It was really salty and oily. The Steamed Dim Sum Combo or 蒸點四拼 came with four items and felt expensive for the $10.98. Felt the price was expensive for what you get. Also, expected the food to taste better for being a Mechlin Star restaurant. Make sure you flag down the waiters because they will not check in on you. Saw a customer yelled at the staff because no one check in on her.

Service: more of a dine and choose your dish. Service does take awhile for you to flag down someone to order or pay. Parking lot: Shared with other shops, not hard finding parking if you circle around 1-2 times. Steamed dim sum combo: I like this dish if you want to try a little bit of everything for 1 person or 2 people to share. Their rabbit jello dessert has two textures, jello on the outside and another layer of thicker coconut paste jello on the inside. French baked Bbq bun: Like a pineapple bun with bbq pork inside. Rice Noodle with Shrimp: The shrimp was jumbo size and it was so juicy! Rice noodle was soft and gleamed with nice shine.

Here's the review with your additional thoughts woven in naturally. Came here yesterday for lunch with my family to finally give Chef Tony Dim Sum in Arcadia a try. I was especially excited because it's listed in the Michelin Guide, so I came in with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. The restaurant wasn't completely packed when we arrived, but the service was much slower than expected. There were several empty tables, yet we still waited about five minutes for one to be cleaned before being seated. They also charge $2.20 per person for tea service, which isn't unusual for dim sum restaurants, but it's something to keep in mind. We ordered quite a few dishes to get a good feel for the menu. The Savory Deep Fried Chinese Donut filled with shrimp paste ($18.80) was good, but I didn't think it justified the price. The ox omasum in XO sauce ($7.38) was solid, but nothing particularly memorable. The shrimp rice noodle roll ($8.98) was my favorite dish of the meal. The rice noodle had a great bouncy texture, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and everything paired well with the sweet soy sauce. The French baked BBQ pork buns ($6.38) were tasty, but I have to agree with previous reviewers that I still prefer the version from Tim Ho Wan. The steamed chicken feet ($7.38) ended up being our second favorite. The chicken feet were noticeably larger than what you usually get at dim sum restaurants, with plenty of tender skin, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf ($7.38) was probably our third favorite. It had a great balance of sticky rice and meat filling, so every bite felt satisfying. The shrimp and pork dumplings ($7.38) and the shrimp shumai with black truffle ($7.38) were both just okay. They weren't bad, but they also didn't stand out compared to other dim sum spots in the area. We also ordered the stir-fried beef chow fun ($18.80). The flavor was excellent and had plenty of wok hei, but the portion was disappointing. There were far more bean sprouts than noodles, which made the dish feel a little skimpy for the price. Service was honestly the weakest part of the experience. It was obvious the restaurant was understaffed. The servers were constantly running from table to table and doing their best, but there simply weren't enough of them to keep up with the dining room. The restaurant itself has a modern interior, and they had the World Cup match between Spain and Belgium playing on the TVs during our visit. Like most traditional dim sum restaurants, it was pretty loud, and we definitely had to raise our voices just to have a conversation. Parking can be challenging during the lunch rush and on weekends, but there is a fairly large free parking lot shared with the surrounding businesses. Overall, I'm glad we finally gave Chef Tony a try, but I left a bit disappointed. Being recognized by the Michelin Guide set my expectations pretty high, yet I don't think the overall experience justified the recognition. There are plenty of non-Michelin dim sum restaurants throughout the SGV that match or even surpass Chef Tony in both food quality and value. While there were a few standout dishes, especially the shrimp rice noodle rolls, chicken feet, and sticky rice, the slow service and inconsistent execution made this a one-and-done visit for my family and me.

Roast Duck & Minced Duck Lettuce Wrap (Two Ways). Portion 1 of 2 (see other photo). THIS WAS AMAZING.
Dan L.

Made a second visit, tried new menu items, and I am now convinced that this restaurant has earned 5 stars. The Roast Duck is fantastic, as are the Sauteed String Beans. I did note some deficiencies on the 2nd visit, however: 1) We weren't provided the complimentary red bean soup that was rendered to us on our first visit. 2) During my first visit, I was given multiple choices for tea during ordering. During my second visit, I was brought an unspecified type of tea and not asked what type I wanted. Those quibbles aside, I find this restaurant to be quite promising, and I am still interested in returning here for a 3rd visit (and more).

Hub really love the truffle steam chicken but I wished I can taste more truffle tho. The scallops shrimp dumplings no longer offer the black skin so it was just okay. Siu mai was good, pork ribs was okay, cucumber appetizer was not well marinated but it's veg, chicken cartilage was ok, chicken feet was good. I really love the fact they have a combo of 4 different things in an order so that's per for a person who loves variety than quantity like us! Would love to try other dishes like preserve radishes, eggplant with shrimp, fried Chinese donut next time

The place is spacious, neat, and clean. They have good selection of dim sum. You can still order dim sum in late afternoon or for dinner. Great for those night time dim sum craving. The foods were mostly well prepared, good favor. A bit pricey compared to other dim sum places. Servers were friendly and attentive.

Steamed dimsum combo, chicken feet, salted fish with chicken fried rice

Great service and good dimsum. Ordered the steam dim sum combo. Siu Mai, fung jow, and salted fish+ chicken fried rice. Tea $2.20 pp. yes it's a little pricey but with free offer from SGV passport willing to try this location vs Sea Harbor. No wait but parking was tricky. Would go back to try other items.

~ food: 6/10 ~ service: 2/10 ~ ambiance: 7/10 ~ parking: plaza parking available for the price, this restaurant should offer a much higher level of service and food quality, but it fell short on both. many of the dishes felt like they were trying too hard to be elevated by adding truffle or other premium toppings, yet none of them were truly impressive or memorable the service was especially disappointing for a place that brands itself as elevated dim sum. one dish we ordered was mislabeled, and when we asked if it could be remade, the server flatly said no without even attempting to check with the kitchen. we were told we had to eat it and still pay for it, which completely ruined the experience. for a restaurant associated with a well-known chef, this level of service is unacceptable. very disappointing, and we won't be returning

Freebie item from passport: dim sum combo
F D.

First stamp redeemed on MySGV Food Passport and it checked all the boxes! For the freebie, you get an assortment of dim sum items including the lava egg yolk with gold foil which was the highlight imho. In addition to this we also ordered - BBQ pork rice noodle roll - shrimp rice noodle roll - seafood soup - Rice noodle casserole with braised eggplant and minced pork - fried crispy noodle with seafood - stir fried rice noodle with scrambled egg & beef It's not an exaggeration that pretty much all of these dishes were absolutely delish! The only negative comment I have is that the air fried rice noodle with scrambled egg & beef could have used a tad bit more salt. This is coming from someone who usually thinks dishes need to be less salty. Both noodle dishes were a hit with the kiddos. I loved the eggplant dish and seafood soup! Service and ambiance were good but I've had faster service at other dim sum restaurants. It's worth mentioning that they don't serve dim sum from carts so the wait is to be expected. Couple notes - hot tea is charged at $2.20 pp. Dishes are typically about $20 per entree. Plain rice is $2 for a bowl. Overall, we would definitely recommend this spot! Can't wait to try the other spots in our passport! Stay tuned for the next stamp and review!

Enjoyed this fried dim sum set.

If you're craving dumplings in the SGV, Luscious Dumplings is definitely a spot worth checking out…read more Between the crispy pan-fried dumplings and the comforting soup dumplings, it's easy to see why this place has such a loyal following. My family came in for a dinner yesterday night because we were craving soup dumplings due to the rainy weather. They were out of the beef noodle soup but they had the pork belly soup, which was just as flavorful. The braised pork knuckle was a refreshing appetizer but I know that it may be a bit out there for some people. We also ordered pan-friend dumplings and (the beef, cheese and onion), steamed crab and pork soup dumplings. I love how on the menu, it tells you the ratio of the beef and cheese, which is 2:1. The dumplings were all consistently well-prepared. For the pan-fried dumplings, each dumpling had that beautifully golden, slightly crispy bottom while the rest of the wrapper remained soft and pleasantly chewy. That contrast in texture is exactly what I look for in a good pan-fried dumpling. As for the soup dumpling, it was just as delicious as I remembered. The broth was rich, savory, and full of pork flavor. Definitely worth ordering even if you're like my mom and you're primarly coming for the pan-fried options. The restaurant is located in an unassuming shopping plaza with parking directly in front and throughout the lot. Depending on when you visit, finding a space might require a little patience. We were able to get a table within five minutes for four people but it is a smaller space so expect a little bit of a wait during peak times. Service is straight forward and welcoming. Nothing feels overly complicated and fussy in terms of ambiance. Good food is good food! Between the crispy wrappers, flavorful fillings, rich soup dumplings, and our server's eagle eyes so that our water cups are filled every single time without us having to ask, we left very happy. This is absolutely a local spot that we will become regulars at!

Shrimp Egg 8/10 - Soft and well seasoned. Generously portioned with very plump shrimp. Pork Chop Spicy Salt 8/10 - Crispy and slightly salted. It has a really great texture to it. Salted Fish and Chicken with Eggplant 8/10 - Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Generous portions of chicken, salty fish and eggplant. Chicken Feet 7/10 - It was solid. Not the best, but definitely not bad. House Special Crispy Shrimp Rolls 5/10 - The flavor of the shrimp was okay, but the rolls were really greasy. There were three very small rolls, definitely not my cup of tea. Chili Wonton 3/10 - By far my least favorite dish. The wonton skin tasted very flour-y, and hardly had any filling. The filling was also very bland and the chili oil was very underwhelming. By the way, the tea is free (I know, free tea at a dim sum spot).

For dishes like the beef chow fun and steamed fish for about $14.88, making it super affordable for a large group meal. The food came out fresh and hot, and the menu had a lot of variety to choose from. The restaurant gets busy, on weekends but service moved pretty efficiently overall. A perk for this place is that they do have a parking garage, which made parking way less stressful compared to other busy dim sum spots in the area.

Excuse me... who gave this place permission to close?? HOW is it closed!?!?! We were literally just…read morehere a couple of weeks ago, living our best noodle life, and now it's gone like a ghosted situationship!! I'm now brokenhearted!!! :( We came back ready to reunite with that soy sauce chow mein.... simple, no nonsense, just noodles, bean sprouts, and onions doing exactly what they're supposed to do: minding their business and tasting amazing!! No extra veggies crashing the party and watering things down. As it should be!! And the siu mai? Solid, dependable, and absolutely did not disappoint!!! The kind of duo you start planning your next meal around... until the restaurant disappears on you. Now I'm just here, craving noodles and questioning how a place that serves delicious food would close down!!!!

I've been coming here regularly for both breakfast and lunch ever since they took over the old Red…read moreChina space, and it has quickly become one of my go-to spots. The food is consistently good, honestly better than a lot of nearby places that charge quite a bit more. What won me over right away, though, was the breakfast combo. Two dim sum items and a hot drink for just $14 is a genuinely good deal. A cold drink is only $1 more (typical HK practice), and you can also take your drink to go for another $1, which is a nice little convenience. I'm pretty particular about milk tea, so I don't say this lightly: their half coffee, half milk tea really hits the spot every time. It's balanced, and satisfying. Beyond the combo, they also serve all the comfort staples, porridge, fried chow mein, Chinese donuts, and my personal favorite, rice noodles with a variety of fillings. It delivers the same comforting flavors you want from a casual dim sum-style breakfast, but without the inflated prices, long waits, and hectic atmosphere that have become so common at more traditional dim sum spots. This place is a solid, dependable replacement for the usual dim sum experience. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. The driveway can be a little tricky. It sits right next to the Taco Bell drive-through exit, separated only by a fire hydrant, so it's easy to miss or get confused when pulling in. But it's a small tradeoff for a spot that delivers this much value and consistency.
