We arrived at 2:18PM with no one in line waiting to be seated. The restaurant still has MANY empty tables but we were directed to sign in on Yelp for waitlist and wait "outside" of the restaurant, which is fine. But then another group of Cantonese speaking party came and refused to wait outside, so they're standing inside staring at the employee & was seated before us. So we walked in to inquire about it and their reason was, you didn't check your phone which a text popped up immediately after the employee mentioned it... indicating she just clicked the send message button while talking with us. Very unprofessional! And the overall attitude of staff helping us (surprisingly other than the non Cantonese ones) are quite rude, since we don't speak their language. I inquired about something, a male employee with plastic black frame glasses just give me a look like he don't want to address to me. He was also the one who came halfway of us eating to drop the check and tell us to pay first. Creepiest thing is he wouldn't stop staring at me trying to see how much tip I put down, which makes the dining experience even more uncomfortable.... There is a line waiting to get in at opening as well so if you miss the 10am opening time frame, it might be better to wait til 11am when seats open up again. Parking is a bit chaotic as it is in the same parking lot as Holiday Inn- we opted to park outside instead. They do validate for parking but I am not sure how strict their enforcement policy is. I appreciate how their fried rice is a little different - with some corn and purple rice. Came in to Happy Together with my girlfriend for dim sum with another meetup group. We arrived early and were able to find parking quickly. Others struggled to find a space. There was a serious line well before they opened their doors at 10AM. Fortunately there are some benches and chairs for people to sit in while they wait. Service was slow but the food was probably the best dim sum I've ever had. Pretty good selection of items and reasonably priced. For 8 of us our bill came out to $35 per person including tip. We even had some leftovers that a few people took home with them. I'll definitely return, like I mentioned above this was a very tasty dim sum experience for me. While Happy Together doesn't have carts that they push around from table to table they take your order to the kitchen and return with your food. One of the better spots in SGV for dim sum! My party of 5 came on a Saturday afternoon 15 minutes after they opened and had to wait about an hour and a half before finally getting seated. They have an online waitlist which made it convenient to check on our queue placement. The interior is pretty clean and spacious. Because it's shared with the Holiday Inn hotel parking lot there was very limited parking and it was difficult to find since it was busy. There is parking on the street or the McDonald's lot. We ordered 8 items totaling to about $100 and the food was fresh and really tasty! My favorite items were the shrimp rice noodle roll (cheung fun) which was really chewy, the half steamed chicken which they gave a generous portion of, and the baked bbq pork bun which had a flaky top and bits of corn flakes on for a nice crunch. In terms of service, specific workers are really attentive and nice, filling up our teas and clearing items but some of the waiters were okay with service. One of the waiters had brought out the wrong chicken item and the waiter bringing it out pretty much dismissed/ignored it, but upon calling the manager, they were able to take back the wrong order and bring out the right item. Overall I enjoyed the food a lot and it was worth the wait considering I had company to talk to. My only complaint is that the Cheung Fun dishes had a very sticky consistency on the rice paper. One of the few dim sum restaurants left that serve great food that isn't from frozen manufactured brands. Pork Siu Mai has a great meaty flavor and texture with nice size pieces of mushroom and shrimp. 9 out of 10. The Shrimp Har Gow has a nice bite and the wrapper is wonderfully light and great texture 8 out of 10. Steamed Rice Noodles will always be a childhood favorite and the shrimp and sauce is top notch. 10 out of 10. Accidentally ordered tue BBQ Pork instead of the Roast Pork and was unable to send it back. The edges looked dryer than I cared for but the BBQ sauce made up for it. 7 out of 10. Besides the food, expect to wait 30-40 minutes for a table and be patient looking for a parking spot. I really like happy together, despite the long wait times. I guess that's how you know if a spot is really popping or not. They do really have some of the best churng fun's out here in the 626, and their crispy noodles with that gravy is pretty legit. We were invited to our friend's birthday dinner. Many of our friends in SGV have always said this place was really good. We never had the chance to try it until today. Here's what we ordered: 01. Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup $22.88 - 2 Stars - I tasted NOTHING but bland soup. It should be collagen-rich, have a silky texture with a deep umami flavor, but it only had a silky texture. And the color of this sour was so white. Not a fan. 02. Diced String Beans w/ Shredded Meat & Veggies - $16.88 - 3 Stars - I've never had the string beans cut up into small pieces like we had it here. It was decent but a little bland. It looked tastier than it was. Needs more seasoning, it could've been better. 03. Beef Chow Fun $16.88 - 4 Stars - So far was the best item that came out. Classic flavors that we all expect from Beef Chow Fun, savory with a bit of smoky flavor for stir-frying on the hot wok. We all liked this one. 04. Roasted Pork $18.88 - 1 Star - The skin was not crispy at all. All of us were not able to bite through the skin, that was how chewy it was. We had to let our waiter know as this is one of their signature dishes. Our friends confirmed that this was the worst they have tasted from all of their visits. Meat was chewy and a bit too oily for us. 05. Walnut Shrimp $22.88 - 2 Stars - The portion on only half of the plate. Our friends even mentioned that this is not their typical portion sizes. This dish should be sweet, savory, and creamy, with a contrasting crunchy texture. The Mayo/Honey or Mayo/Condensed Mike ratio was different here. The coating of the sauce was sticky and thick. The Shrimp was not crunchy but soggy. I don't think it's half to charge full price for half a portion. Super disappointing. 06. Stir Fried Clams w/ Basil and Veggies $21.88 - 2 Stars - Barely any hint of Basil (we could hardly find any in the dish). This is usually one we all love but it was just flavorless. Can you see the sauce in the photo? We couldn't either. 07. Bullfrog w/ Hot & Spicy Sauce $23.88 - 2 Stars - I'm NOT a fan. I know frogs are small in size but the pieces were so small that we couldn't tell if it was crispy batter vs. Bullfrog. This was not our group's fave. I looked peppery, but it was bland. This dish usually has a kick from the black pepper, not here. 08. Seafood Tofu Casserole $19.88 - 3 Stars - This was meh. The silken-tofu was super soft and the sauce was umami, which we enjoyed. Simple and comforting in taste and texture. 09. Braised Eggplant w/ Minced Meat $16.88 - 3 Stars - This is one of my fave dishes at any Chinese restaurants. I love it's savory, slightly spicy, and aromatic sauce that perfectly coats the tender eggplant and thinly sliced pork. We enjoyed this one most out of the rest. 10. Steamed Chicken (half order) $23.88 - 4 Stars - This was our 2nd fave item from our dinner. The Chicken was tender, juicy and perfectly poached. The ginger/scallion sauce was savory and tasty. Chicken had little meat ratio but enough for us to enjoy. Definitely recommend this dish if you dine there. 11. French Style Beef Steak $22.88 - 3 Stars - This dish reminds me of the Vietnamese Shaken Beef, except that the steak wasn't as tasty. In the menu photo you don't see mushrooms, just meat. When we got this dish, there were a lot of mushrooms. The steak was tender but didn't have as much flavor as you'd think looking at all the pepper on it. It was just ok. LOCATION/PARKING - It's connected to a Holiday Inn, parking is a bit tough if the hotel is filled with guests. CUSTOMER SERVICE - They are friendly but depending what you ask or and who you ask, you might get a little attitude. You don't get the same waiter/waitress, they rotate from table to table. VERDICT - Would we come back? I would not for the quality of the dishes we ordered. I think we tried one item from each category and I'm not a fan. Tasteless Chinese food is a "NO" for us. Prices are a little more than other restaurants but the taste was just not good. My friends agreed that it has changed so much from all the times they dined there. We wonder if they changed chefs. Had our wedding reception here! Worked with Jessica the manager and she was wonderful. We got a ton of compliments on the food which was a set meal but we got to swap in certain dishes we requested (I.e adding in Ablaone and Sea Cucumber or upgrading our lobster). The venue is honestly very nice for an Asian banquet styled wedding, as it already comes equipped with curtains on the wall, lighting, sound system, and a dance floor. They were also able to accommodate us on such short notice as we had only decided to book a little over a month before. We were able book out the whole restaurant with around 12 tables. Inside it wasn't really busy and for a group of 12 they only have one round table and I'm glad it accommodated us! This time our uncle went all out and preordered a whole roasted piglet for us to take photos and then the staff will chop it up to serve. Same with the coconut chicken. We had a lot of dishes that were super delicious and came one by one: Roasted pork, crispy skin and great with hoisin sauce provided. Coconut chicken, crispy coconut flavored skin and salt on the side since the inside meat is a bit bland. Roasted duck was great, some of the skin was a bit chewy. Kung pao chicken was actually sweeter this time with a hint of spicy. The pumpkin fish is new, haven't heard of it before and can't seem to find it in the menu. The dish was a fried fish smothered in a pumpkin puree but we didn't really like the fish as it was too fishy but the pumpkin puree was really good. Sometimes it took us a while to get staffs attention for water, rice, and tea so we had to flag anyone we can to ask. Kind of a random location for this place underneath what could be apartment buildings? Was bustling when I got in, but they seat us right away. Clientele looked very authentic, so I had extremely high hopes for our meal. No carts at the dim sum just order off the menu. A lot of things are priced $5.88 or $6.88. Very crispy on the outside and nice and gooey on the inside. 10/10 The pork and shrimp shumai was fine. They were very hot, which was great, but the flavor was so so. The duck was big and gorgeous on the outside. Served in a warming dish, which was nice although it didn't feel very hot. We prefer a lot of breast meat and I know most people don't so for us. It was kind of a lot of waste because so much of it was just skin and my kid will eat the skin. But the breast meat that was there was good. The soy sauce chow mein was the biggest disappointment. The noodles tasted like... I'm not even sure how to describe it. Almost like a buckwheat noodle that wants to disintegrate. Didn't have the right texture at all. And only two onions on it. I like it when there's a lot of green onion. I didn't finish the dish nor would I ordered it again. Also got the pork and shrimp chili wontons. They had a little bit of a fishy taste and the chili sauce really just tasted like oil. There wasn't a lot of spice. If you're hoping for Din Tai Fung, this is not it. My recent outing to Happy Together left a bad taste in mouth. Not only was the dim sum tasted mediocre, but they now charge you for hot water at $1.50 per person. On small print on a paper menu, it says, "bring your own tea/hot water". Talk about nickel and diming you. Our service was non-existent except to set our food down and take the bill, but other than that, we had no other dining service. Not even a refill of ice water after we requested for it. I just don't know about this place anymore. This place is always bustling with a considerable wait time and appears really popular among the Chinese older folks who can be seen waiting outside with their friends or leaving the restaurant with their squad . So one would come to believe the restaurant's quality, but after my recent dine-in experience and a takeout experience, both which lacked quality, I wonder if I'm the one that's off my rocker. read more

Delicious dim sum. Service is good dining in and take out. We ordered a lot of take out today for my grandmas bday who no longer feels comfortable to go out. My sister ordered via phone. Take out counter is to the back left of the restaurant. Everything was ready when I arrived. Can't wait to come back. read more

Absolutely fabulous! The place is a little tricky to find. It's in a Holiday Inn, but don't let that fool you. This place outdoes most. They have a sumptuous variety of dim sum AND whole ducks, chicken, and pork. Outstanding food and very friendly and attentive service. read more

bad service/employees, incorrect hour service posted. been there twice, two weeks in a row 2:30pm which prior to the last call time 3:00pm, and every time they refused to let us in because they say it's closing. read more

I went on a Sunday morning waited about 30min for a table BUT it's worth the wait The dim sum is hot and very tasty it does taste like fresh out of the steamer the price is reasonable with an average of $5.88 for a dim sum others are little more expensive I would definitely return here for dim sum lunch read more

I discovered this place while hunting for a new duck restaurant in Arcadia, the duck in my opinion was okay but everything else were excellent. While the staff primarily speaks Chinese, which creates a bit of a language barrier, the quality of the food makes it a must-visit. read more
