I've been coming here regularly for both breakfast and lunch ever since they took over the old Red China space, and it has quickly become one of my go-to spots. The food is consistently good, honestly better than a lot of nearby places that charge quite a bit more. What won me over right away, though, was the breakfast combo. Two dim sum items and a hot drink for just $14 is a genuinely good deal. A cold drink is only $1 more (typical HK practice), and you can also take your drink to go for another $1, which is a nice little convenience. I'm pretty particular about milk tea, so I don't say this lightly: their half coffee, half milk tea really hits the spot every time. It's balanced, and satisfying. Beyond the combo, they also serve all the comfort staples, porridge, fried chow mein, Chinese donuts, and my personal favorite, rice noodles with a variety of fillings. It delivers the same comforting flavors you want from a casual dim sum-style breakfast, but without the inflated prices, long waits, and hectic atmosphere that have become so common at more traditional dim sum spots. We came for Tuesday dinner and it was fairly quiet, with maybe four other tables when we arrived. Tasty Spot Cafe has become my fiancé and I's weekend staple as a way to treat ourselves after a busy work week. Every dish we have ordered has been delicious, served hot, and has gotten us coming back for more. We especially love their Pork & Preserved Egg Congee, Chinese Broccoli, Spare Ribs, and their Crispy Taro Shrimp Spring Rolls, paired with their Hong Kong Milk Tea and Iced Lemon Tea drinks. Every dish we have ordered is served in a matter of minutes, piping hot, and always great! They are also one of the more affordable options here in Arcadia. You can enjoy 4-5 items under a $50 bill. This is one of the worst Hong Kong style cafes I've been to unfortunately. Also, it's very confusing how the outside of the restaurant says "Tasty Spot Cafe" BUT the menu and the uniform the staff says "Delicious Food Corner" Parking was ok since there was a small parking lot in the back of the restaurant Staff were not too friendly or attentive. I don't think I was even offered a water refill even though my cup was empty for most of the time. I tried couple times to get their attention for a water refill and was just ignored so I stopped trying Inside was pretty spacious with plenty of seating. I went for the $11.95/dish special they were having and there were 22 dishes to choose from. Keep in mind these dishes don't come with rice so rice is an additional charge. The rice was beyond disappointing - it was literally undercooked and did not taste fresh and fluffy as rice should taste like! The Singing Chicken Hot Pot was served in a small and rusty bowl. The chicken was extremely salty and inedible. Honestly, there were hardly any chicken pieces and it was mostly just a bunch of onions and a couple red peppers. This was 4/10 The Sweet and Sour Cod Fish was just ok. The fish didn't taste fresh and was somewhat mushy on the inside. The outside was crispy and it wasn't too greasy. This was 5/10 Braised Tofu Roasted Pork Hot Pot ($19.75) was so extremely salty and the roasted pork was very hard to chew. The braised Tofu didn't taste fresh and felt too deeply fried. The inside of the tofu wasn't as soft as I was expecting so I doubt this was made in-house. I've been going to different Delicious Food Corner and the Tasty Spot Cafe locations, but haven't had a chance to try this location. My mom wanted to try this location because she heard the radio commercial that they had Mother's Day Specials. It was spacious inside compared to other Tasty Spot Cafes. We reserved our party of 5 a few days ahead, and the Mother's Day menu included the following: -Soy sauce chicken half 古法豉油雞 -Fresh beef (Filet mignon) 法式牛柳 -Egg Tofu with mushroom玉子豆腐炒鲜菌 -Seasonal Greens in soup 上湯時蔬 -Lobster E-Min (Noodle) 薑蔥龍蝦伊麵 -Dessert -Osmanthus Flower Jelly (桂花糕) We also ordered HK-style Milk Tea and HK-style Lemon Tea. Came here for dinner last night and was so surprised to find the whole restaurant empty at 5 pm. For an empty restaurant, their service was so so. They forgot my drink until I reminded them and it was hard to flag down staff to get the bill at the end. They were pretty good at changing our plates though. We ordered a few dishes like the string beans, sweet and sour pork, lobster, duck, and clay pot rice. My favorite was actually the clay pot rice. I loved the crispy rice on the bottom of the pot. Though it says delicious food corner, it's also called tasty spot cafe on yelp and on their website which is a little confusing... Service was pretty quick as I didn't need to wait long to get my food. The wonton soup was okay at best but it left a little bit of a bitter aftertaste. The broth was super light in seasoning and the noodles were a little too al dente to my liking but the wontons were pretty good and were the best part of the dish. I got rice noodles with dried shrimp as the side and I enjoyed it more than the wonton soup! The portion size was pretty good especially since it's a side dish and I liked how it wasn't completely drenched in soy sauce. It also came with some hoisin peanut sauce to dip the rice noodles in. Surprised that it was fairly empty on a Saturday night around 7 p.m. This location offers several items at $11.99, which, all things considered, is an excellent deal. Since it was fairly empty when we stopped by, service was prompt and we got our food in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the salt and pepper tofu, soy sauce fried noodles, wonton noodle soup, egg tofu with fish, and bbq with egg. Taste is definitely consistent with several of the DFCs that I've been (DB, Irvine, MPK, Hacienda Heights). Finally a place that serves family size meals and personal plates! I came here specifically because I wanted dimsum. They have a huge menu which is easily readable with a lot of photos of their specials, so its easy to follow along and choose. Their portions have good value because the pricing is fair and the servings are large. I actually went in 2 days in a row. The first time was because the cutoff for their dimsum is 3pm, so I went for their plated dishes which were all very good. Then the next day, I went again before their dimsum time was over. Service is good and they kept my drink topped off. They also have their own parking lot in the back with easy access also to the backside of their neighbor's parking. All in all, i'll be back again. I ordered the wonton noodle soup and it came with a choice of the butter bun or steam rolls. The wonton noodle soup combo came with three wontons and noodles were nice and bouncy, cooked perfectly. TL;DR Food is hit and miss. Ambiance and experience is definitely a miss. The usual place I go to for a Hong Kong style wonton and brisket noodle was really busy; so I tried this place across the street. Their wontons are tasty and noodles are well-cooked. The broth itself does not have much flavor beyond salt and a little soy for color. It does not have any veggies. So would not order again. Because their wontons were good, I've been back two additional times to try their dim sum. They have a combo dim sum lunch that is price friendly. Their siu mai (shu mai), the dish by which I measure all dim sum places, is good. Specifically, the ratio of pork to shrimp is on point, it is well seasoned and the texture is not over processed like a meatball as some places are prone to do. This is the only dish I would eat again. Spare ribs in black bean sauce is flavorful, but the pork itself is dry. As this is a steamed dish, I suspect it doesn't have the right cut of rib with enough fat to render when steaming. The bean curd rolls are in a broth, rather than old school in a sauce. Rolls themselves were good and seasoned well. Broth, like their wonton noodle, lacked flavor beyond salt. Black pepper beef short ribs were a challenge to eat. This cut, like with Korean bbq short ribs, is flavorful, but very tough if not cooked properly or not the highest quality of beef. This place tried to tenderize it, but could have really used a pair of scissors to cut into manageable bites. I had to eat it like a hungry predator on the Serengeti and still couldn't tear the pieces into bite size pieces. Experience-wise, I will not be coming back to this place. Was greeted nicely at the door by a young server and asked if I wanted a booth or table. I said booth, but the older gentleman who must be their chief sit here director pointed aggressively for me to sit at a table. OK, whatever. Their tables are spaced very closely together, so it feels like communal dining in a dorm. I asked if I could sit at another available table that was at least more than 3 inches away from another table. While eating, a server bumped into my table hard enough to shake it and didn't say anything to acknowledge. Another server roughly dragged a chair to place at an empty space at my table while I was eating. Again, nothing to acknowledge. A simple "excuse me" would have been the polite thing to do. Maybe expecting common courtesy is asking too much for this type of "value" restaurant? In any case, won't be going back for either the food or the service. Definitely worth spending a few extra dollars to enjoy my meal, elsewhere. read more

We tried the basil chicken in claypot, there were more bones than chicken. We tried the Shao long Boa today. Who knows how long they steamed or we streamed it, it was dry. I love spam so I appreciated their western breakfast menu included spam sandwiches and omelets to accommodate the Asian dishes. All dishes are a breakfast combo, which includes a hot drink with refills. Some of us got congee with fried dough and milk tea, some got dim sum with ice tea, and I got sandwich and soup with hot tea. Condensed milk is available at the table. We also wanted some dim sum a la carte. Apparently the servers gave us a better "deal" by grouping a la carte dishes as combos so we get a better price (and extra free drinks). The congee is filling and you can add white pepper as you desire. Fried dough is a good adder. The sandwich is small on a volume basis but still good. Delicious Food Corner has been sprouting all over the place in the past few years and I have been missing out. I finally had a chance to visit this Arcadia location for breakfast with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning. They were extremely busy and almost every table in this large restaurant was filled. Oh, and the table had chili oil stains, so I wouldn't say they are cleaned well in between customers. Breakfast is only available 9-11:30am, so get there early if you are a breakfast fiend like me. I really like that they have western breakfasts, Chinese breakfasts, and even dim sum. It's like having a Hong Kong Café menu with a Dim Sum restaurant menu in one place. What I love most is that all the breakfast combos are served with free milk tea, coffee, lemon tea or coffee and milk tea. My boyfriend got the C Option ($12.50) and opted for the Spam and Mushroom Omelet, with Toast, and a macaroni soup. I ordered a Pork and Preserved Egg Congee ($12.95). All of the congees are served with Chinese donut, fried noodle or steamed flour rice rolls, in which I opted for the steamed flour rice rolls. We both opted for the lemon tea with our meals. I also ordered the Egg Tarts ($5.95) from the dim sum menu since it's one of my favorites. The food was actually quick but the order was random. Most of the food even came before the drinks. The portions were large and really good value that it came with a drink. My pork and preserved egg congee was a bit bland, but still decent. The steamed flour rice rolls came with an interesting hoisin and sesame seed sauce. I liked it but would probably get the Chinese donut next time so I can enjoy it more with the congee. I was so focused on eating the rice rolls cause they tend to go bad quickly and I didn't eat much of the congee. And most importantly, I loved the egg tarts. I noticed she called it Delicious Food Corner but I found it weird because the outside of the building says Tasty Spot Cafe in large letters. It's only when you walk up to the doors that it says Delicious Food Corner, and also on the side. So what is it supposed to be?? Aside from the name of this place, the ambiance and design of this place is very comfortable. Not too crowded or too big. The customer service was really good too. The waitresses weren't rude or stuck up. Very patient. The food wasn't too impressive though but seemed good enough to serve to customers. Just not special but good enough. I've had this spot on my list since they opened - we're always looking for good dim sum locally- had a mixed experience here. Definitely a great spot for a very authentic Hong Kong style breakfast but the food is somewhat hit or miss and the service was extremely slow and a toss up - some of the servers are very rude, some are nice. Three in our party tried some of their traditional HK breakfast specials - two of us didn't like it at all. The dim sum we ordered was just ok - but their egg tarts are decent. For my breakfast I was torn between their congee (I love congee) and their daily special A which I ended up ordering. It consists of a breakfast sandwich with egg and choice of meat (I went with ham) and it looks like it comes with macaroni salad from the pic on the menu - which is similar to what I ate in HK but it ended up being a macaroni soup. The sandwich was definitely not something I'd ever order again. The eggs were super slimy - to the point where I couldn't keep the bread together at all - and completely bland. The macaroni soup had peas and carrots and a milky type broth and was actually pretty good - I liked it. The breakfast specials also come with choice of drink and I got their HK milk tea - very strong flavor - needs a lot of the condensed milk which they provide on the table. One of our party asked for the HK coffee but didn't like it. The main issue was the service. They were packed when we got there so we definitely expected a wait. We were seated quicker than I thought but after 20 minutes of being completely ignored and watching people that came in after us get waited on, one of our group tried to flag down a server. The first woman waved her had to dismiss our group and was very rude - loudly explained "IN A FEW MINUTES" - so no luck there. After some time longer and a second request we finally got service. Even after the restaurant cleared out later and was no longer busy, we were missing items we ordered and we still had issues getting help and then later getting the bill. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice, wide open ambiance- very lively and chaotic when busy. They have you take a number when you enter to get in line for a table and it moves fast. There's plenty of parking in back. It's in a great location around other Arcadia business and close to the mall. I usually go to the Rosemead location, but went to the Arcadia location this time bc we were at the Santa Anita mall! Started off with the iconic pineapple buns, except I ordered in canto and didn't know that there was one with egg custard and one with butter. I wanted the butter one but got the egg custard instead (I don't know how to say butter in canto) STILL REALLY GOOD THOUGH Also got their beef chow fun, which was a HUGE portion, but so simple yet so delicious And topped it off with the beef stew wonton soup which was SO AMAZING. The beef stew was cooked to perfection. The wontons had the perfect flavor and crunchiness. The soup tasted absolutely divine. I still think about this bowl to this day One thing about the Arcadia location is that they have yi mien (noodles) which are my favorite!! Will have to come back to try it The servers here were very quick on their feet and some of them were really sweet, most likely because I was speaking in canto. Lunch in Arcadia, Los Angeles, California... I saw a photo from my friend, Regis, and had to get the Black Squid Ink steamed salty egg custard bun. It's so unique, right? Niki and I first went to the Rosemead location of Delicious Food Corner - however, these black buns are only served at the Arcadia location! Spacious, modern, clean, and bright, this location of Delicious Food Corner had good service! We ordered: *Shrimp dumplings *Chive and shrimp dumplings *Quail egg Shiu Mai *Black Squid Ink steamed salty egg custard bun *Minced pork with egg and rice - regular (not spicy) Everything was tasty! We tried to figure out the ingredients of the Minced pork because it was very complex! I'm so happy that we got the Black Squid Ink steamed salty egg custard bun because the gold decoration on the top of the bun is a Gold Bunny!!! read more

There is something truly special about discovering a local "neighborhood gem". Whenever I visit my friend in the area, this restaurant is our go-to spot for hanging out because it just feels like home. It's clean and cozy, and the staff are friendly and attentive. As for the food, every dish is delicious without being overly salty or greasy, which sounds simple, but sadly most restaurants just over-season and/or over-fry their food. I especially recommend the Steamed Flour Roll with Chinese Donut. It's a very unique take on a classic. What makes it unique is the shrimp hidden inside the donut, creating an amazing texture. Their curry fish balls have just the right amount of kick, and the scrambled eggs with shrimp are consistently fluffy and light. Last but not least, their complimentary soup tastes just like my mom's homemade recipes, making the whole dining experience feel incredibly nostalgic and heartwarming. read more

I love their dim sum, big portion, reasonable price (now that after pandemic all dim sum price went up), good verity of choice Restaurant could be a little crowded and noisy but I like how it reminds me of Hongkong. Excellent food and amazing service. This is a Hong Kong style cafe, serves both chinese food (cantonese) and hk-style western food. The menu is huge, something for everyone. They have breakfast until 11:30am, both chinese and western. There's a breakfast special: pick 2 dim sum dishes + 1 drink for $12.95. They also have congee and western-style breakfast plates. The menu is too much for me to go through here, best to just go and peruse the menu yourself. We like to stop here for breakfast post gym. The servers are super friendly.
