I came in the afternoon and there weren't a lot of people. They have a lot of tables inside and a few outside. I got the mixed fruit delight and I was hoping that there would be more fruit in it for the price. It was mostly coconut milk. Not saying that it tasted bad I was just hoping for more for the price.

Honestly this place hasn't changed much from 10+ years ago! Coming here for their food is pretty mediocre. I tried their crunchy chicken fried rice bowl and beef and rice dish and while the beef was good, the chicken dish was practically flavorless and tasted as if you were just eating straight up gluten. The place is definitely better for a quick grab and go of their purple rice jellies or tapioca drinks! Also, there is no ac or wifi and their service in the area isn't great. Not a great place to do study/do work.

my family can always rely on this place for late dinners. prices are good, dishes are great, and service is incredible!

I was craving some good ole wonton noodle soup and ordered online for pickup and it was deeeeelicious. The wonton's were huge!!!! I wish it came with more noodles or had a option to add more noodles for an extra charge.

The food was tasty, reasonably priced and the portions were fair. I would definitely order from them again.

Good Canto classic dishes, and especially like the crispy chicken wings. Always enjoy their desserts such as mango sago almond pudding.

The service here is unreal. The whole experience feels like you are getting more than just a…read moredinner, which is a lot of fun. The plating, the care, and the details all rock. The food is elevated for sure. It is a little pricy but you probably expect that going in. I found some dishes like the beef funs and the secret tofu to be superior, while some classics like the shrimp fried rice to just be ok.

My friend highly recommended that I try Bistro Na's, raving about its excellent quality and…read moreauthentic Chinese cuisine, so I was excited to give it a try. We made a reservation on OpenTable for dinner about a week in advance. We didn't know this until the day of our reservation, but Bistro Na's was actually the first and only Chinese restaurant in the greater Los Angeles area to hold a Michelin star, which they held in 2019 and 2021. The restaurant has since lost its star, but remains on the Michelin guide.  Our reservation was at 5pm on a Sunday. The inside is grand and ornate with architecture and decor inspired by imperial China. Oddly, it was a bit empty. I got the Lychee Galaxy Drink, which came in a large mason-jar style glass. It was lukewarm. The drink reminded me of something you'd get at a casual boba shop or the 626 night market. The first dish to arrive was the Black Cod Stew with Tofu, which was essentially a mapo tofu with fish nuggets on top. I found it a little bland and unexciting.  Next, we tried the Crispy Shrimp, which was one of their signature dishes. This one was actually really good. The shrimp were lightly glazed in a sweet sauce and had a satisfying lightly crispy exterior.  But on that note - I feel like a lot of the dishes we ordered turned out to be unexpectedly sweet. The Crispy Shrimp was sweet. The fried mushrooms were sweet. The Braised Abalone & Pork Belly with Chinese Puffy Pie dish was fun - I'll give them that. I liked making my little hamburger and the protein was very tender... but flavor-wise... It was just sweet. As standalone dishes, they probably would have been fine, but after a while, I got sick of everything being sweet. Or, to be more specific, I got sick of everything only being sweet. I think they needed more savoriness to balance out the sweetness and make the dishes more interesting.  It was like the sweet dishes were too sweet and the savory dishes were not savory enough. The mapo tofu was disappointing. The scallion pancakes were nothing special. The bonito fried rice needed salt. Overall, I felt very let down. Even without the Michelin distinction, I would have found the food lacking in quality. So considering that this restaurant is currently on the Michelin guide, I was very disappointed.

We were…read moreable to call ahead earlier in the morning and ask if we could be on the wait list or reserve a table. They told us they could reserve a table for us at 6pm. We originally were hoping for 7 or 7:30, but based on how busy and popular this place is I can see why they said no. Come early and get seated right away and there's still ample parking in their parking lot. By the time we left at 7:30p, the lot was packed and people circling around hoping to snag a spot from folks leaving. The restaurant is pretty large and has about 3 rooms with different size tables and booths. No matter the size of your party, there's a table that will accommodate. The staff were very nice and attentive and FAST! We had our food out probably 15 min after we put in our order! Now...on to the food. We ordered one of the set menus for our party of 7 and it was spot on! As you can see in the pictures we had all the "classics". Our set meal could easily be enjoyed by at least 10 people. We had so many leftovers! The food was all well prepared and sufficiently seasoned. Portions of each dish was plentiful and everyone will be able to get enough to satisfy. My favorite items: lobster (duh!), kung pao chicken, pork chops, and shaking beef. The seafood soup is a great starter, and don't forget to add a little vinegar and pepper! Great restaurant in the SGV. This location is much bigger than their Rowland Heights restaurant, but the food is exactly the same. This is a great alternative to the popular Newport Seafood, so don't sleep on this place!

The Restaurant has plenty of space, but I chose to be seated near the entrance, since that's where I saw most of the staff standing, that way when I need something it's easy to reach out for them. The Menu was handed to us and I saw a lot of things on their Menu in a package deal, like a family style order. I didn't order that 'coz I am not familiar with some of the things on the menu so we just chose ala cart. I ordered a few things that I knew my Husband and Son would enjoy. * 5.75 pounds of LOBSTER with GARLIC PASTA. *CRAB with TAMARIND SAUCE *PORK CHOP SALT & PEPPER * YANG CHOW FRIED RICE I wanted to order more, but I was impressed with how HONEST our server was, he said "I think you should see first when the food comes out 'coz your Lobster alone is already big. I'm glad I listened to his advice 'coz at the end of our dinner we still had plenty left 'coz the servings were big, especially the Lobster with Garlic noodles. The 5.75 pounds of LOBSTER with Garlic Pasta was Huge when they delivered it to our table, the shells were already pre cracked, so it was easy to get the Lobster Meats. Omg! having the Garlic noodles with this dish is delicious! But surprisingly this time , I loved the CRAB more than the Lobster , but both were really really good, but the reason that I liked the Crab more is because the seasoning or Flavor of the sauce that I chose for our crab is so delicious!!!! The Crab was meaty and it has a good Tanginess with a light sweetness and a light spiciness to it. While my Husband and Son were enjoying the Lobster, I was devouring the Crab ;) The Fried rice and Pork was good too, but it's just the same taste as we always get on the other restaurants. The food here were delicious, the crab was totaly devoured by me and there was plenty of the Lobster left. It was DELICIOUS, but it was a Big Portion with all that Chunky Lobster Meats and Garlic noodles, my husband and son said that it was a heavy meal and made them so full :) The Foods were delicious, the portions were big, there were Plenty of Parking around, and the Service was Excellent. If ever we are in the area again, I will definitely make a stop here.

Their dinner dishes are all $12.99 which is super rare! They usually have long wait times (can be up to 30mins) but today was not that crowded so it only took around 20 minutes. They are not super big inside but they do have two private rooms where we got seated with another party, which wasn't bad since we each just eat our own meals. They give free tea, which tasted like pretty good quality tea, and I drank quite a few cups. They also give free edamame and miso soup as appetizers, which was nice. The miso soup has some seaweed and soft tofu which I enjoyed. We ordered the Stir Fried Dry Bean Curd w/ Pork, Braised Pork in Brown Sauce, Stir Fried Cauliflower (not spicy), Fried Squid in Three Flavor Sauce, and the Shanghai Style Sweet Sour Pork. They are super busy but all the dishes were served fast, within 5 minutes of each other and only after maybe 10 minutes from when we ordered. The dishes all looked super good and not too oily. The portions are also reasonable for the price and is just enough for our group to share. My favorite was the Stir Fried Bean Curd w Pork and the Braised Pork. Both were flavorful but not too salty. And the braised pork was had the right amount of fat and the meat was cooked just right so it was tender and not too dry. The others were also seasoned well and we enjoyed it. The least favorite was the Shanghai Style Sweet Sour Pork because it was more sour than sweet and didn't have much meat on the bones, but I still thought it was pretty good. All the dishes were good and very worth the price. It is not something you can find easily at dinner time, especially with this quality. The white rice is also free of charge which is so rare! I recommend this place if you want cheap authentic Chinese food and great service with free appetizers. Just be prepared to come early or there will be long wait times. I will be coming back again.

Won't allow to change some food on banquet menu, just had to add another dish. Food came out fast & with big plates, hardly any space on table, waiter just left it on top of 2 serving trays. They didn't care that serving plates were still full. The beef loc lac was tough, deep fried fish sauce tasted weird with their sweet sour sauce, pea sprouts which I was trying to change to another dish but couldn't, sure enough was so fibrous & chewy. The special fried rice was so full of all different kinds of meat that it was like a meal in itself. With 10 different dishes it would have been better to serve plain white rice. Felt service could been better for 18% service already added on bill. Tea was even charged. There were few waiters & feel that they were not attentive and restaurant was not even busy. Even parking lot was not full but there was courtesy valet parking & girl was insisting on parking the cars even though several cars was starting to line up. I need to confess something to you: I love Chinese food. However, it wasn't until the last few…read moreyears where I've come to realize the distinctions between Hong Kong cuisine and mainland Chinese cuisine. It's been an exploration. But with each new Hong Kong style restaurant I try, the more expansive my view, and belly, get. Alice's Kitchen, specifically this one in Temple City, was a refreshing look at not just the food but the vibe as well. Design - Falling into a different world Walking into Alice's Kitchen from the back parking lot is like walking into a vibrant food court back in the 1980s. Bright neon signs are placed throughout the dining room floor, faux food stalls can be seen to give more of a community feel to the inside, and I love the sprawl of different props of newspapers, t-shirts hung on clotheslines, and big advertisements on the walls like you might see in a food court. It really elevated the atmosphere of the space and I loved their branded orange plates, bowls, spoons, and chopsticks. It gave whimsy to this place. Staff - Cool The staff here are like what you expect from any Chinese restaurant. You try to flag one down or grab their attention with your wandering eyes and when they come over you can tell them what you want. They take your order and usually within 5-7 minutes you'll start to see your food heading your way. Perfect for anyone hungry and dying to eat right away. When you ask for to-go boxes at the end of the meal (you definitely will) moments after you get your food packed someone will appear with a tablet ready for you to pay right there at the table. Talk about speed. Food - Onions galore I see that in Hong Kong cuisine there is this mix match of Western and Chinese tastes put together. This fusion of ideas is what brings something like their large pineapple bun sandwiches to existence. We got the BBQ pork (char siu) pineapple bun sandwich and this came warm with a fried egg, slab of butter, generous slices of BBQ pork, and a savory sauce. For one person, this could be a good main dish to be accompanied by a side. For this split between two people, this is a savory sweet dish perfect to wet the appetite. Highly recommend getting one of these. The sweet & sour pork was nostalgic to me. Served with chunks of white onion, green peppers, and pineapple the flavor of this reminded me very much of the sweet & sour pork Chinese-Korean restaurants serve, except for the color being different and no cabbage in the sauce. It has the sweetness brought out by the pineapple but still a bit of tang and deep savoriness of the pork with each bite. The onions were undercooked and you'll see this as a pattern for all their dishes containing onions. The French style filet mignon chunks were fantastic. Juicy and flavorful, each bite makes the mouth water more and more and the texture gave such pleasant mouth feels. The fried basil accompanying it also gave a burst of freshness and herbacious flavors. Just be careful not to accidentally bite into a chunk of ginger. Unless you love ginger. Then go right ahead. The beef chow fun with black bean sauce was great. Nice balance of their black bean sauce with the textures of the chunks of beef, the onions and peppers in this add a nice crunch and difference in flavor that balances all the savoriness. The tofu with spiced salt was also incredible. When I ate this still piping hot the crisp exterior with the hot soft interior made me smile. The spiced coating was flavorful and with some rice it gives a nice balance with each bite. Final Thoughts With all the food we got for dinner, I'm sure I leaned more into the Chinese cuisine side than the Hong Kong side. However, I was happy with the quality and depth of flavors in everything I had. Alice's Kitchen has definitely been one of the better Hong Kong restaurants I've had and I'm excited to explore more of this cuisine in the future. Can't wait to come back!
