I come here for breakfast about every couple of weeks. I am in love with their BELT (Bacon Egg Lettuce Tomato) sandwich. I get the egg over medium, and the yolk combines with the aioli and perfectly cooked bacon to form a taste explosion in my mouth. I recently ventured to try the meatloaf sandwich, and that was amazing as well. The bbq sauce that comes with it is house made using the meatloaf drippings, and it is the best bbq sauce I have ever had. For real. I was so excited to get sweet potato tempura! My favorite tempura without having to eat other veggies! It was awful. Just horrid. No light, fluffy batter. It was heavy (pancake mix? It was oddly sweet) I ended up peeling it off of the wan, beige, sad tubers. The rest of the food reminded me of something I'd make if someone dropped in unexpectedly . Not restaurant quality at all. My inlaws found this nearby cafe and half a year later they still talk about how much they enjoyed several visits. Incredibly friendly staff. Like amazingly friendly. The food is fresh and tasty and the proportions are generous. On four visits I had spicy mac & cheese, cheeky cakes (stuffed pancakes) with bananas, cheeky French toast with peanut butter filling, and cheeky French toast with berry filling. The French toast came out a little dryer than I prefer, but was yummy anyway. I'd also like real maple syrup, but it's not priced that way. My fiance and I really enjoy the brunch menu. The regular french toast as well as the cheeky french toast should be tried by everyone. Unless you're allergic to fruits, then just stick to the normal french toast. Either of them are so choice. I highly recommend. read more

Wow what a gem! Great comforting food and atmosphere. I randomly walked in to get the soup of the day when it was drizzling outside (beet, orange, and avocado!) and it was incredible. The waitress was so welcoming and the soup was so well prepared. You could tell they pay close attention to detail with the food. The atmosphere is homey and they have wifi. This restaurant just has everything I like! We came on a Friday night, and found out that they have All Day Breakfast! So we ordered French Toast, Loco Moco, and pasta carbonara. I like the texture of my French toast a lot. It is not too dry or too wet, just perfect. The eggs and bacon come with it are quite tasty too. As a picky eater, my daughter finished all the carbonara! Amazing! I tried a little bit of the Loco Moco, and It was so yummy! I like their gravy a lot. The portion of the food is generous, and the price is reasonable. I was home sick from work and decided to hunt for restaurants around me...I found the cheeky cafe. I'm in love! Whenever I try a new restaurant, I like to order multiple dishes to sample, so that if I don't like one dish, I can usually find another I do like...I was not disappointed in any dish as one was better than the last. Get their chicken wings and their Bolognese!!! You'll love this place!! Oh yeah...I almost forgot...because my delivery was so late (which only tells me that they are busy and well liked), they gave me an order of cinnamon dough puffs on the house...a perfect treat at the end of a perfect meal!! read more

What an adorable little place! My French toast was delicious and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The person with me had the peanut butter French toast (Which I also sampled!) and was quite thrilled by it. Everything Was great, especially our server Crystal! Such a nice lady! Got the loco moco based on other's recommendations. It was filling and delicious. They sauce was different (in a good way) from other loco mocos I have had. Service was extremely polite and quick. Got the Chicken fried steak, hash browns, and biscuits, with a side of fruit. I was expecting the humdrum ihop/Denny's formula, but was pleasantly surprised at their originality! The steak was quality cubed steak, not cheap chuck. The flavors in the breading with the gravy were a very delicious combination. Hash browns were expertly cooked, and the biscuit was almost a shortbread, sweet and flaky. The fruit was very fresh and cold upon arrival, good variety as well. I found my new breakfast eatery! Came here for a Sunday brunch and enjoyed a filling breakfast! My husband had the meat loaf loco moco and I had the Belt sandwich. Both were big portions and the service was fast, we did not wait long. The overall restaurant setting is open so when it's busy it can be very loud. I ordered chicken fried steak. The steak itself was good, with good breading. However, for whatever reason, Cheeky Cafe chose to use a horrid tasting brown gravy instead of the traditional white pepper (aka country) gravy, ruining the entree. (To their credit, they didn't use sausage gravy.) The best way I can describe the hash browns would be "dehydrated." They were like a cross between hash browns and Pringles. The biscuit (without gravy) was quite good, and earns the second star for an otherwise one-star meal. read more

I've tried this place a couple of times, both for brunch. Definitely interesting options with fusion with Hawaiian, Asian, and American food. I've ordered a pancake with matcha green tea powder and blueberries added to the batter, and the deep fried french toast with berries. The food is mediocre in my opinion. If anything a friend ordered a quiche that was tasty. But I'd pass on the sweet options that I've tried since I've had much better sweet brunch items elsewhere. The servers are nice, so that's a plus. But given the lackluster food, I don't plan on coming back to try more items. read more

So disappointing. I used to love this place when it first opened. The new owners are trying - they have kept pretty much the same menu - but they are not quite there yet. When we arrived, the floor under the table had a lot of crumbs and other food particles. When I mentioned it, the waitress said "Oh, I could sweep that." I sat down next to the mess so she could - but then she never returned to clean up the mess. Then there is the food - it took 10 minutes before she took the order, and then it took another 40 minutes before we were served the food AND it was not even hot. Just lukewarm. The loco moco meatloaf was okay, but not as good as before and certainly NOT worth the wait. Another dining guest had the BLT with overdone bacon, and the other the okonomiyaki that had a bit too much flour. While not the worst food I have had, I think it will be a while before I return - if I even return. I miss the original owners. read more

Cheeky is decent, but could be so much better like it's on the verge of something really good but not quite there. It's one of those places that I wouldn't go back to on my own, but if someone else wanted to eat there well then okay. I wasn't blown away by anything. I was torn about how many stars to give...fun decor, good service with an interesting menu but our meal was really bad. We ordered the lunch special: braised korean rib. It was practically inedible - tough meat with gristle and fat :( The presentation was not appetizing either - 2 big clean bones were part of the plating...at least the salad was good. Finally got around to trying out this welcomed addition to the neighborhood. While my wife and I appreciated the creative menu, we noticed that it was very meat heavy with very few lighter options. Overall, we were not blown away with what we ordered. Fried dumplings were super doughy (think fried dough that you might get at a state fair) with very little filling and came with no dipping sauce. Chicken meatballs were probably the best thing we ordered even though the dipping sauce was un-inspired. Fried rice with chinese sausage was ok, but had an unidentifiable taste that left me wondering. We found that the small plates we ordered (dumplings, spring rolls) were maybe too small, and the large plate (fried rice) was enormous. Probably won't return for dinner, but will give them a second chance for brunch. read more

Just like it's namesake - this place is cute and "cheeky" and great for kids and families... food however, is not so cute or cheeky... Subpar at best. Came for an impromptu dinner this past week --I guess i was confused at the menu - too many items in my opinion. Is this an asian cafe? or is it american bistro? Kimchi mac-n-cheese, hawaiian fried rice, braised oxtail, balsamic mushrooms, pasta carbonara & spaghetti bolognese? confusing. very very confusing.. Started with the recommended - japanese style pizza "okonomiyaki". cooked as I expected - but sauce was quite overpowering. We also tried the balsalmic fried mushrooms - very overpowering. We followed with the mac n cheese (boxed-like), braised oxtail special (aka beef stew like) and spaghetti bolognese -- (Ol' spaghetti factory-like). Disappointing as I expected a home cooked style grub as the ambiance is very homey and friendly. Maybe we should have ordered the asian items as they appeared to have the best reviews. Not a good first visit. This is close to home so we may consider giving brunch a try. Service was a little slow the night we came -- but the waiter was very accomodating. I'd love for this place to make it - as there aren't very much places to eat in this neck of the woods. Meh experience. Grub and menu need some working on. read more

I've been here a few times. For lunch the french dip is great (according to my boyfriend), it's his new favorite place to go for it. The burger is different and very good, with a great savory sauce. Wings - i've had these a couple times, but beware they are not spicy wings - they are sweet, but still so good. For dinner - I would skip the fish and chips - just ehh on that one. Also - I just wish cheeky would add some chicken dishes at dinner, that may make it a five star. My suggestion - go for brunch (it was the best meal at cheeky) -the cheeky french toast is so good (like a big donut) and the chicken fried steak is HUGE. Id also recommend the homemade chicken patty and eggs (dont know why but simple scambled eggs were so good). read more

After my mom raving about Cheeky, I had to of course try it on my Christmas vacation. Since all I had been doing was eating non-stop, what better way to end my trip but with brunch with my mom and cousin. We all had some permutation of french toast and eggs. Free refills on coffee, good service, and a pleasant non-rushed environment made a rainy day that much better. I'd recommend Cheeky to anyone who likes a warm and casual place to grab a bite for brunch! read more

I have to say, waitress was very nice, but food was not so good and slow coming out. I went with just a cheeseburger just to be on the safe side. Ordered 3 orders of fries that came out to almost $3 an order, some pricy fries for a very small portion. Hubby's Loco Moco was awful, didn't taste anything, but spicy. I didn't know that we visited this place before and it wasn't nothing too memorable, no wonder why I couldn't remember the name of this place when my brother in law introduced it to us several years ago. And if it wasn't for my brother in law's birthday dinner pick, I would have skipped this place without a heart beat. read more

I've eaten here four times so far, and have enjoyed myself every time. The environment is very laid-back and friendly, and the service was attentive and helpful. The menu is slightly unusual and eclectic, but I really like that. Some of it sounds weird, but you've just got to give it a try. They're good for weekend brunch as well as for weekday dinners. The chili is fantastic, as are the berry pancakes. A pitcher of mimosas doesn't hurt either. :) read more
