We've been sitting here for almost an hour, had an appetizer and have finished what we could of our meals and our drinks havent been filled once. I was craving a Monte Cristo sandwich and decided to try this eatery. Well, I chose poorly, because the sandwich was unlike any MC that I'd ever had. At first glance it didn't look right, it looked like something you'd get at the Fair. The breading was thick and doughy, with some parts of it not cooked through. I decided to just eat the insides and go on. I figured this is the way they make it and I just won't order it again at this place. They took 40 almost minutes to seat us! Service was very bad and the server was very rude to older family members and was very irritated seemed like! He was tapping his pen on the table waiting for kids to order, he was clearly on something, plus took his sweet time and was expected good tip when you don't do your job right ! Service was fast and efficient even on Canton First Monday Weekend. Fried sweet Potatoes and Fried Green Tomatoes were excellent. Bathrooms were the cleanest in town. We will definitely go black. read more

Covid has changed everything. This restaurant is unfortunately in that category of ugh, Covid strikes again. The dining experience used to be pleasurable, the food was good and the service was quick. Now all of those things are untrue. Curbside is awful. I appreciate the effort they are trying to make but it's just not working so great. Tonight, my fiancé and I went to Cheddar's in Tyler, TX, were very disappointed in the super slow service we received, we waited after our drink order for some time before the server returned to take our food order. The food was very good as usual, but the server was very slow to respond to our needs, we waited entirely too long for our check and after receiving our check, had to ask another waiter to get him for us so we could pay it and leave. Stopped at Cheddar #cheddars with my wife and stepdaughter (who has to use an electric wheelchair) in Tyler on Broadway and none of the handicap spaces have large enough stripping area on the right to allow an electric wheelchair to adequately exit the 8 foot ramp and make a turn to go in to the front. Very disappointed that businesses don't consider the disabled enough to go a little extra by expanding the width of the handicap parking spaces to accommodate people with wheelchairs. When my wife and I first moved to Tyler four years ago, Cheddar's was one of our favorite places to go. Unfortunately, the past couple years we've had bad experience after bad experience. My sister wanted to go for her birthday last night, so we went and again had a terrible experience. Fortunately, the problem is never the food. The food is always great. The smokehouse burger is our go-to each time. The service, however, needs much improvement. If you don't care about quality of service and just care about food, Cheddar's is the place for you. We're rarely picky people and definitely understand when waiters or waitresses are having a bad day. Last night, everything left more to be desired. Each time it took the waitress about 10-15 minutes to get back to us (drinks, straws, order, food, etc). What is normally a 45 minute experience took twice the time which is not easy when you have a fussy baby who was ready to go after an hour. Again, food is great. It always is. Service again and again needs improvement. We've even tried to order the food to go multiple times. Even then, something is usually messed up on our order or the food takes much longer than quoted over the phone. We hope to be back someday, but it won't be anytime soon. For the price, there are plenty of other choices in Tyler. read more

During the 30 minutes two other tables asked for the manager and definitely weren't for good things as we over heard them ask for a refund or a free meal. I was hoping for some amazing comfort food. I ordered the appetizer sampler for my meal and was so disappointed. It took a long time for the food to come out even though the lunch rush was well over. When it finally did, the plate was very hot, but the food was not. The queso and salsa were spilled. and dripping down the bowls, and the spinach dip, placed at an angle on a too-small -for -the -food plate was defying gravity and barely hung in its bowl. The chicken strips held promise but the breading was too heavy. The queso had a thick, unappealing skin on the top and the cheese was super thin and tasteless. A new skin would form when I left it for more than a couple minutes. The salsa didn't have a lot of flavor, but the Tortilla chips had plenty of salt, so I guess that counts as flavor. It was just unappetizing to look at. I was kinda shocked any cook /(chef?) would let that mess leave the kitchen. My daughter had a burger and fries. She wasn't very impressed. So I technically didn't eat at Cheddar's. I did a fair amount of drinking, so I can authoritatively comment on their cocktails, and I also did a fair amount of picking off plates and eye-raping the heaping dishes, so I can not so authoritatively mention the food. First off, cocktails...they were all delicious. One of my friends had a Starbucks liquer concoction that was done in about two seconds. It tasted straight up coffee, and just about us strong, so if you're just looking for a yummy drink, go for this one. Another friend had one of their tropical hurricane style drinks. It was quite delish and you could taste the liquor, so at least it packed some punch. They have a special drink, the name slips my mind (it was over a month ago!), but they specifically say in the menu that they limit customers to two each because it's their strongest drink on the menu. Now I enjoyed my two quite heartily, and while I must say I was feeling nice and buzzed after the first one, I think I could have handled a third pretty well. Now for the food that I picked at...the chicken fajita quesadilla was awesome. Please order this and taste the scrumptiousness. It was even better after a night of drinking at the Electric Cowboy. I also picked at a couple salads both of which were good and came with a nice hunk of bread. And finally, the garlic mashed potatoes, the bite that I had was nice and fluffy and delightfully seasoned. All in all, I was a bit disappointed that a friend and I had already eaten before we decided to all link up at Cheddar's, as the food looked delicious. The biggest negative of the night (a Friday), was getting there and waiting for a table for 45 min (we had at least 6 or 7 people). Word of advice: call ahead on the weekends! read more

I used to eat here all the time, but I came here once and there was a pesky problem crawling on the booth (if you know what I mean) and so I was assured that the problem would be taken care of...so I didn't go back for a long time. Then I decided to give it another try because hey, that could happen to any place right? well this time there was a lot of new staff and we were not served well. They brought the order wrong, never filled our drinks, and then when we brought this to attention they just blamed eachother instead of just fixing it. This place was awesome! It has a great vibe an the waiters are very friendly. The food was deliciously prepared and tasted excellent. I would HIGHLY recommend the Caesar salad, best I've ever had. I normally love my usual Dijon Chicken and Mushroom plate. But today (Sunday) the plate was room temp. They were out of mashed potatoes, forgot my straw, forgot napkins, lots of trash under the tables.... Later they were out of regular to go boxes, only the tiny ones... So whoever is the manager should make sure they order things before they are out, who ever the cooks are should make sure food is hot... I doubt our food was made fresh because it came out really fast. I am from Houston, and all the cheddars I have been to there are clean and 4 star worthy, this place gets two because it's cheap and good, just wish it was up to par like what I am used to. read more

The restaurant is super busy. Guess that's why the service sucked. The table next to mine was a large party with unruly children. The adults were noisy and screeching. No one was watching the kids. They were underfoot of several waiters but no one dared correct them despise the danger to the kids and other guests as well as staff. My waiter was slow coming. Drink took forever to get. Everything was good despite not being what I ordered. Was served a sirloin despite ordering ribeye. After disagreeing with the waiter about it I just shut up and ate it bc he obviously didn't care if I was pleased. Then he did the worst. Puts the bill on the table while I'm still eating entree. Delicious food, nice atmosphere, fantastic service, VERY reasonable prices! We went to Cheddars with a group of 14. The service was impeccable and everyone said their plates were wonderful. I was floored by how inexpensive our bill was for such great quality food and ambiance. For two entrees, an appetizer, and three drinks (including gratuity) our bill was $37!!! They have a good variety of food choices, classy drinks for cheap, and upscale decor. I'm a BIG FAN! I would absolutely go back to Cheddars in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. read more

My wife and I eat at Cheddar's fairly regularly, and have for years. This food is always great, and a very reasonable prices. I usually have the shrimp dinner, which is very good. Recently, I tried the baby back ribs. Oh man, they were so good. Can't wait to have them again. I also always get a salad with my meal, and I love that they include a glazed crescant with it. Coming from L.A I was surprised at how cheap the plates were. Came on a Sunday for dinner and was seated right away. My husband ordered the full rack of ribs ($15).., tender and delicious. And I ordered the smokehouse burger (about $6) which I loved! I also ordered a loaded potato on the side ($2extra that I thought would actually be LOADED., but it was just sour cream and cheese -_- ehh) Oh and a kids meal for our son., BBQ Grilled chicken on a bed of rice with fries.
