Well would love to say the service was terrible but it was actually non existent. Coming from a server/bartender your staff definitely needs an urgent retraining. Pretty Restaurant, but it ends there. Server was barely interested. Mentioned getting a tip 2 times. My friend received her food just over 7 minutes before I got mine. Cheddars... What happened? Went into this establishment to take my Mom out to lunch. My Mom has never eaten at a Cheddars and wanted her to get the Cheddar Experience! Given my experiences from Cheddars around Houston TX, figured the experience would be the same here in Tyler... Great! Well sad to say, I was sorely wrong. Took forever to get our food. Seemed we were waiting forever. My Mom got the Chicken Fried Steak and I had the Monte Cristo. Cheddars serves the best Monte Cristo! The best! Thank goodness my Monte Cristo was hands on and didn't require any silverware. Silverware was dirty. Yikes! I was so put off by it. Silverware still had food stuck to it. Yuck! Best service I've ever had! Ashley was amazing! Constant refills on drinks and consistent checking on us

When we walked in, we asked if there was a trash can and the lady said it was full, she seemed very annoyed with us. We had a party of 7 and they said our table was ready but then it wasn't because there wasn't a waiter. When it was finally ready they yelled at us and it's like they were announcing it to the whole restaurant. It was a 30 minute wait just for them to come over to get our drink and appetizer order, and the wait for the drinks was 20 minutes and they didn't bring plates when they brought our bread and stuff. It took another 30 just to get our food order and then about 45 minutes to wait for our food. My meal was good, my grandmas meal wasn't correct at all, my aunts meal took forever to get here, they forgot my moms honey mustard, but my dads, sisters, and papas meal was all good. The waiter didn't seem concerned about anything at all and it got to the point to where the manager had to come and even then it was bad. read more

Every time I go, they never disappoint. my favorite meal is the salmon, and the rice it's served over is the best in Tyler! Not crowded at all, immediately sat down and served hot croissants. Ordered our drinks and chips and salsa which are always good. Hamburger was great, two in our party ordered seafood plates and both ate it all and seemed happy. Normal cheddars vibe inside. read more

Lunch was a heavenly experience after church! The tender steak, enchanting atmosphere, and gracious service combined for an uplifting day!

I don't even know where to start. Let's start with the positive. Upon entering we were promptly greeted. That's where it ends. There was a huge crowd of workers milling around at the hostess stand. It was hard to get around them all as they just stood there not wanting to move out the way. Our waiter was friendly enough but not that great at his job. He seemed a little bewildered when asked for extra items. We also had a to go order that we didn't get the entire order. We didn't know until we made it home. The only positive of this was the croissants they serve at the beginning. But don't expect this to be unlimited. It's not. And our waiter was very rude with the 'who's paying for this' when asked to bring more. This is a hard pass for me. The food is ok at best. Served us a steak the shape of a tennis ball that looked ground beef on the outside, and completely raw in the middle. Everyone at the table was done eating before a replacement was made. All our mashed potatoes were cold. The service was SO slow. We sat for over 20 minutes before the waitress took our order. Not even an offer to remove the steak from the bill or receive a discount. This restaurant isn't the same as it use to be and it is not a from "scratch" kitchen. My mom got the meatloaf; most know what meatloaf is supposed to look like and taste like. The meatloaf was HUGE, like it was grown in a lab and then the gravy wasn't brought and she asked for it. The waiter came back and said "they just opened a packet". How is the gravy from scratch when they ripped open a packet? Drop the "scratch kitchen" and just call it Cheddar's. The patrons aren't stupid. read more

We had curbside to go. It said 20 minutes, understandable needs time to cook right? We let them know we were there and waited...and waited...called to ask how much longer when we hit the 15 minutes past Mark, they are boxing it up....15 more minutes we are discussing leaving as we have now been waiting 50 minutes total. Right before I call to cancel they come out finally. Serve up the food to family, fries are cold and soggy, ordered bacon and cheese fries hardly any on fries. Ordered monte cristo and it was also barely warm and soggy, the dough around the sandwich was barely bread more doughy like when something isn't fried all the way. Do not recommend as my husband came when it first opened years ago and said never again, now it is never again for sure this is just gross. read more

The best thing for them to do here is to shut down for two months and hire a whole different crew . My to go order not only was not ready in a timely fashion it was missing tons of things . Received a gift card for my birthday. My wife and I weren't expecting much with some of the negative reviews. Were we wrong. Once we were seated, Emery our waiter came to our table. Immediately, we noticed his demeanor. Mature and professional. We ordered the lunch salmon, my wife's was blackened and I had the bourbon glazed and both were done to perfection. Dirty dishes have been left at the table. I can see a man that has been seated over 20 minutes by me and has not been greeted. Out of silverware. Was there for Easter, had an EXCELLENT MEAL and service! I see lots of "1 star" ratings of late, seems strange considering the time we had. We got complimentary "honey butter crossiants" that were fabulous, the Santa Fe Dip was really good this time, and the Grilled Salmon and Chicken Fried Steak were both outstanding, hot and delish! Our server was on top of things and did a great job for us! We do have a couple of negatives.......the "greeter" started to take us into the bar to be seated (we were the second ones in after they opened the doors at 11 am so it was not an "overrun issue"). I've had the greeter ASK if we MINDED being seated in the bar, but never just TAKEN THERE...........I told him NO, we did NOT want to be seated in the bar and he took us to a table....that needs address in a training issue. Personal taste issue, but TRULY loved their "Southern Green Beans" when they had onions and bacon...........now they have SUGAR and not NEARLY as GOOD! AND can't wait to get their FAMOUS ONION RINGS back, the server said they were coming.........HOPE SO! They are EPIC! read more

Our server was amazing, but the hostess at the front (all three of them) 2 blonde and 1 dark headed all young girls. We're all VERY rude to everyone, they had an attitude the whole time from the moment we walked in. They acted mad that they had to do their job?? these girls are more than likely getting paid more hourly than the waiters and our waiter was amazing but so sad to walk into a place and the hostess ruin your mood before you even get to the table... someone needs to give these girls an attitude check. read more

Well after the mask mandate has been lifted and well after we are allowed 100% capacity, my husband, my 2 ur old and 6 yr old decide to go to cheddars. Despite hardly any customers in the restaurant, we are told there will be a 20 minute wait. We decide to stay. We stand off to the side and a minute after standing there, we are told no one can be in the waiting room and we have to wait outside. It's raining outside and I have a 2 year old with me and no one else is waiting anywhere? Where is the common sense? The hostess continued to ignore me. I told the hostess about the bad service and just got a blank stare. So I left and will not return. I did speak with a manager on the phone but was disconnected. Decided spur of the moment that I wanted to have dinner with a friend and she chose Cheddar's. I hadn't been to this restaurant in a few years and agreed it would be a good place to go based on there wide selection of American foods and large bar menu. Unfortunately I will not be revisiting this establishment due to the cleanliness of the restaurant. The floor was very dirty, there were crumbs also under the table. I mentioned it to the waiter and he just looked at me with no response. Since the restaurant was my friends choice I just decided to make the best out of the evening.
