Tried the salad bar at Jasons Deli and it was amazing. Everything was fresh and there were plenty of options to choose from. We've been going to Jason's Deli since 1990 in Tyler. Even at its old location. We go to others when traveling as the food is typically the same at all of them. We don't get there often these days as we've moved further out. I know restaurants are cutting here and there to survive. When I do go I typically get the muffuletta sandwich as it is historically great there. Last time a couple of months ago it looked great but they forgot to toast it so it was cold meat to the touch. They took it back and heated it but not to the level it should be. I think They get in a hurry as they really do have a lot of folks. Today I ordered it as usual. Quartet sandwich. When I got it there was very little meat. If you know this sandwich, it's filled with meat. See pics below of menu pic, actual pic of sandwich I got. I got the manager (young guy) and showed him. He said looks like they didn't get some of the meat on it. I replied looks like they didn't get most of the meat. He said he would get me some more. Later he came back with a bowl with hot ham in it and handed it to me. I put it on the sandwich and now it was about right. It was about 75% of the meat. At nearly $12 for the managers special now, you kind of want the meat on the sandwich. At least it was hot. Just need to get back to making sure everything is as it should be when delivered. Waited 45 minutes just for a chicken alfredo to only be just started. One star the wait was crazy

All I kept hearing about in Texas was ya gotta try a Jason's Deli. My buds in the Ft. Worth/Dallas area absolutely rave about this place. Now... myself being a Sammich fiend, knew this day was inevitable. Well, slap my chaps three times and lasso me a Sammy! I was excited to find out that we had our own Jason's in our neck of the woods. Like I said... this day was gonna happen. First off, this place offers a variety of sandwiches but they also have various salads and soups. My wife ordered the Rueben (I gotta admit- I was kinda jelly once I seen hers) with a side of tater chips, my father in law had a Grilled Cheese Sammy w/ a cup of their Chicken Noodle Soup, while my mom had a Roasted Turkey with Tomato & Lettuce and a side of their Mac & Cheese. I was talked into trying the Papa Joe Special Sammich and a side of chips (I was told this was a secret menu item). My sandwich was mighty tasty and filling, but like I said... I was side eyeing my wife's Rueben. I know for a fact I will be ordering that one next time. Loaded with pastrami and that sauerkraut goodness... damn. But it was all good... the Mac looked a little on the runny side, but I'll have to sample that some other time. Regardless, we all enjoyed our Sammies. What's even better is that they offer free ice cream cones and makes for a nice treat afterwards. Unless, you're one of them Uber cool parents who let kids eat dessert first . It my first time here, but my first review. I really appreciate a good sandwich, definitely get a good one here, and more. Salads, soups, variety sandwiches that should meet anyone's taste. This visit I had the Rueben sand with a side of chips, my dad had a simple grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of chicken noodle soup, my mother in law had a roasted turkey, tomato, lettuce sandwich with a side of chips and mac n' cheese, and my hubby had a papa-Joe special sandwich (not on the menu) with a side of chips. When my hubby ordered his sandwich, I thought "that is my kind of sandwich", but I really wanted the Rueben, loaded with pastrami and sauerkraut, oh yummy! We all loved our sandwiches. First time here as per my wonderful girlfriends praise, and wow what a delicious, refreshing, clean and wonderful place. The food was top tere! from the sandwiches that are packed full of flavor, piled high with amazing meats, soft breads and acuteimonts. The soups that are fresh ingredients and beyond flavorfull to the salad bar with more fixings you can fit on your plate!! And the price was extremely fair! The staff was very friendly and attentive even tho we seem to have come at a busy time. I would absolutely say try this place 100% I'll be back . . . .prolly tomorrow. I will never be ordering from this restaurant again! I ordered a salad with chicken, Italian dressing and a sweet tea delivered by waitr. It took them almost an hour for my order to be delivered. When I finally received my order it was just a dry salad without the chicken and my tea. They forgot to add my chicken to the salad, forgot my salad dressing, and forgot my tea! Food not as described on menu, very disappointed. Ordered chicken caprese panini. Pieces of chicken, not chicken breast, like it was leftover scraps. Panini supposed to be warmed until melted, barely had grill mark, cheese solid cool chunk, two very thin ( seriously see thru) slices of tomato barely cover half of sandwich. No pesto, did find any aioli & 3 leaves spinach with hard stems attached. Wow. Explains why at 5:30 only one couple in there. Has to ask for chips, got shortcake...so dry, so dry. Before I complain, I will say the employees seem understaffed and overworked. And that's not their fault. BUT being rude is not the answer. I waited about 45 minutes for a turkey wrap and a chef salad, nothing special or difficult. Got the food and it looked like a 4 year old made it and bagged it! And THE FLIES EVERYWHERE were the icing on the cake. I've eaten at plenty of Jason's in TX and MS over the years. So I won't give up on Jason's, but I will definitely never go to this location again. We like Jason's. Yes it's noisy inside but we've been using the curbside pickup during the pandemic and have been very satisfied. I've been reading the reviews about rude staff but we've found them to be pleasant. We get the half Muffaletta and share. It's plenty for us and really good. read more

I have always been a fan of Jason's Deli. However, the Jason's in Tyler, TX is located in one of the worst parking lots in town. I rarely go there just because of that. After my visit today, it will be a long time before I'd be willing to return here. The food was good, but way overpriced. There were some items that were not correct, which were not realized until I had returned to work and opened the takeout bag. I felt taken advantage of when I left there. I ordered a wrap with a side of fruit when I visited. I didn't realize they have soft serve ice cream and had planned to have the fruit as dessert. When I saw the ice cream I returned to the counter to change my side to steamed vegetables. I spoke with Bobbi, who is very sweet and has wonderful customer service. She was going to change it for me but they were already looking for me to deliver my order despite being super busy (5 stars for speed). I received my plate from the person trying to find me and sat down to eat. A few minutes later Bobbi found me and gave me the steamed vegetables I had hoped to get in spite of already having the fruit too (5 stars for customer service). All the food was fresh, including the fruit and vegetables. After I finished eating I returned to the counter to thank Bobbi who was very gracious. One of the better places to eat in Tyler. Generally pretty clean, and I usually just hit the salad bar, which is healthy.

Consistent food and atmosphere. Location always busy but stays clean . I mostly go for the salad bar but will get soup or potato on occasion . I've heard others talk about their Muffaleta but I don't like olives . Nice place for quick lunch or dinner . They even cater for large groups.
