I have been to two of the Jimmy John's locations in Tyler and they are consistent so that's great. I like the sandwiches and the ingredients are fresh and made right in front of customers. You can ask them not to put "tomatoes" on your sandwich and they will do that, but don't ask them to change the condiments like mayo or mustard. My daughter once asked if she could have a slim sandwich with no condiments but asked if they could put a bit of olive oil and vinegar instead and they said, No. I was really annoyed by that. I guess she was used to getting her sandwich they way she likes, like they do at Subway. They had oil and vinegar on other sandwiches but she was not interested in those particular ones. Kids can be picky eaters, and I was surprised they would not do that for an 8 year old girl. She is 11 now and still not too interested in mustard or mayo. The sandwiches are tasty but sometimes they are a bit heavy handed with the mayo and I really don't like too much mayo. The Gargantuan is a large sandwich with several types of meat and it's one of our family favorites. The prices are a bit high. They have a couple different flavors of chips The chips are those really hard kind, Miss Vickie's kettle chips and I don't much care for them. You can also get an individually wrapped cookie and they are pretty good. The dining areas are kept clean and bathrooms are fine. They have sweet and unsweet tea as well as a sodas fountain drink style that you can get yourself. The last time I went here I got two gargantuans to go, one with no tomatoes and noticed once I got home that they slathered it in mayo. Oh geesh, I really could have done without that. The mayo was so thick the cheese was trying to slide out of the sandwich and it was super messy. If you are particular or have picky eaters, go somewhere else. If not then give them a try.

    Awesome Sandwiches!

Excellent food always. Cannot go wrong with Jimmy John's. I have been a customer for over 20 years and still recommend to this day.

Service was rude, they don't give you want you want on your sandwich, it's their way of making sandwiches or no way at all

I would say it is best to go around lunchtime while it is still nice and neat. The customer service was great and it is an overall good spot when it is not overcrowded.

We don't get there often these days as we've moved further out. I know restaurants are cutting here and there to survive. When I do go I typically get the muffuletta sandwich as it is historically great there. Last time a couple of months ago it looked great but they forgot to toast it so it was cold meat to the touch. They took it back and heated it but not to the level it should be. I think They get in a hurry as they really do have a lot of folks. Today I ordered it as usual. Quartet sandwich. When I got it there was very little meat. If you know this sandwich, it's filled with meat. See pics below of menu pic, actual pic of sandwich I got. I got the manager (young guy) and showed him. He said looks like they didn't get some of the meat on it. I replied looks like they didn't get most of the meat. He said he would get me some more. Later he came back with a bowl with hot ham in it and handed it to me. I put it on the sandwich and now it was about right. It was about 75% of the meat. At nearly $12 for the managers special now, you kind of want the meat on the sandwich. At least it was hot. Just need to get back to making sure everything is as it should be when delivered. Not the customer having to do so. Everything else was good including my wife's order.

For starters, there is a Starbucks and a Walgreens pharmacy attached, which seems pretty typical for a grocery store, but then you see they have a gelato shop, a pizzeria, a grill with a patio, a taqueria, and more. Their huge patio space makes it a place that people of Tyler love coming to and eating at. This is like a Whole Foods for Tyler. The options and selections were a lot more vast than I had ever seen. I'm seeing fruit and produce I've never seen before. They have so much wine and beer to choose from. Their bakery has so many insane options. FRESH even has a full playground next door and live music on their patio. It's honestly a really impressive shop. One of the only downsides of FRESH is that you're going to pay that price tag. Everything is always slightly more than elsewhere in town. Its quality is what makes it worth the visit. It feels like one of a kind as a grocery store, which is why it took 10-plus years to open a second location. It's not only a grocery store, it's part of the Tyler community. Convenience stores are typically a treasure trove for low rent demographics- you know, those that spend their entire disposable income on quick "to go" comfort items, such as: 22 oz. Dr. Pepper bottles, cigarettes, chew, bags of chips, and candy. Oh wait, don't forget the lottery tickets, and scratch offs, as well. For me, I generally only stop at joints like these to fill up my tank. I don't buy candy, lottery tickets, or other items of waste, unless it's beer, or wine. With this said, Hillbilly Hangout is a great store to stop in for a quick sixer, or bottle of vino. Seriously, who the hell would ever imagine that a gas station, in Flint, Texas, of all places, would have such an impressive selection of beer, and wine. It almost doubles as a second store. Colorful patrons, friendly employees, and a damn good spot to pick of a six pack of Porter, or a IPA. For that, Hillbilly Hangout gets 4 stars.
