Com'on Jersey Mikes, what the heck happened to your cheesesteak big gahuna? Been enjoying Jersey Mike's for years, subs and cheesesteaks. This location has been my favorite. But today, the big gahuna was the absolute worst. The roll was half cold, half hot from the meat. The meat was burned. There were a few mushrooms and very little bell peppers. The cheese practically ran from the sandwich. All in all, the cheesesteak had absolutely no flavor. Big disappointment. Poor food production seems to be on the rise in restaurants. I can save a lot of money and make my own cheesesteaks. Probably the way to go. read more

Left a review 6 months ago because this Jersey Mikes subs have 1/2 the meat of others I visit. Got a reply from the owner saying he was sorry Jersey Mikes have standards across all locations & would review with staff & please visit again. So I decided to give it another try & called in an order because my wife just finished chemo in the area & didn't want to have her wait long in the car. When I got there her Philly was done but my cold sandwich was sitting there with the meat but wasn't completed. As she started finishing the sandwich again I noticed this time less than 1/2 the meat I get at other locations, so either it wasn't address or the employees didn't listen either way between the wait after calling it in & lack of standards, last visit to this location for me. read more

Jersey Mikes on 5th and Beckham was my first job out of high school. I stayed for two years, and honestly miss it sometimes. Yesterday I sent my boyfriend to get us 2 sandwiches. That was his FIRST time in there, he had a BAD experience, the heavier set lady didn't HELP at all, made him feel stupid when he asked a simple question. All she did was raise her voice and have an attitude. I would recommend for that lady to get trained better at customer service!! Friends have been telling me how great a Philly Cheesesteak is at JM's. So we found one in Tyler and from outside looked brand new and beautiful from the outside ! STOP there ! Place was just not clean, general mess on floor and under tables. Walking up to the meat cutter, seems bread crumbles all over server's counter area. Customers don't like to see that when you're expecting a pristine environment to match the exterior ! Luckily he didn't have to cut any meat for me since I ordered the cheesesteak which was prepared in the kitchen. Cheesesteak was decent and I liked it, but didn't love it. Pepsi was flat and I asked about it and they said yes the carbonation was not working properly ?? But did not put an out of order sign on it or inform any customers that it was broke !! A lot of people behind the counter but none looking after any customers ! As far as their other sandwiches, not sure, didn't try them and probably won't !! read more

Yeah, I'm giving five stars to a sammich chain...what of it? COME AT ME, BRO. The truth is Jersey Mike's is the best sandwich chain around, and this particular location is bright, new, clean and friendly. Sure, there are local places like Austin's Thundercloud where you can get a comparable 'wich for cheaper, but Jersey Mike's is the sure bet that you can find all over--including in Tyler. Well, especially in Tyler because this location rocks! First of all, you can see right into the sandwich prep area, so you know the staff isn't--heaven forbid--spitting into your sandwich or something. If they're not adding enough of something to your liking, guess what? It's right there. They even slice the meats in front of you. I suppose you could ask for thicker slices if you like that, but I love the extra-thin way they cut things by default. Secondly, I love their sandwich offerings--especially the hot peppers to add on at the end. The bread is fluffy and soft. And the Italian sandwich? It rules. They have more varieties in sandwich sizes than almost any other sandwich place I've been to. I can order a tiny sandwich for when I'm only a little hungry, or I can order a huge sandwich and share it or have leftovers for later. YAY. read more

I hope JM didn't have their A team at this location today. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I am very sorry that we inconvenienced you by coming in to eat today!!!! Eyerolls and bad attitudes are not a part of acceptable customer service. Logistically it is an awkward experience. Order hot sandwiches first... and don't you dare let the last person on your group change their mind to a hot sub cause that will really annoy the lady taking your order. Since last call for hot subs on this order is apparently federal and smith county law. Eyeroll, sigh, act disgusted...... sorry we are not educated enough to get this right. But hey, we don't work at JM though, so we are not fully aprised, aware, and baptised in Mike's sauce to know the rules and etiquettes.... Has to be a frustrating thing for anyone ordering something hot. Half your group is done eating by the time you finally get your hot sandwich. Ugh. Who thought this business model would work well? And to top it off. The tipping thing on the cc machine is beyind tacky. I will NEVER tip for that reason AND who tips before service is completed??? Totally annoying and ridiculous on JM part. There really isn't a reason to come here. They won't ask you what size sandwich that want or what size drink. To get a different size sandwich is apparently a burden nevermind the fact that they offer 3 sizes. The employees don't care if there was a mistake or not. All in all not a good experiance. Ordered online while leaving from work, it was ready for pick up as soon as I walked in the door (I was only five minutes away!) Ordered a "giant" sub, which they cut into four good sized pieces. It lasted my fiancé two meals (dinner and a midnight snack as he works nightshift at a hospital). I love that they have so many different options (hot, cold, wraps, heavy, healthy). Best place to get a steak sub in Tyler. Steak is freshly cooked and is tasty. (Suggestion get half cheese or no cheese on the steak sub) JM has plenty of cold choices as well. Manager on lunch duty as of November 2014 - Is incredibly humble and has a servants attitude (Great Guy and Great Customer service). This sub place is one of the best around. The meats and cheeses taste fresh and high quality. The veggies always look great and not days old as well as the breads. The sandwich makers seem to take pride in making your sub too. The variety in sandwiches is awesome and the menu is not overly complicated. I really like the atmosphere in the place too! My husband went today to this location for lunch before work. Ordered what he always does and made his way to the line. This was after lunch and the location was not busy at all. As he was waiting the manager ask him if he ordered the tuna and said no that it was the Italian. After already waiting 15 minutes for his sub they started to make his Italian but not until asking the person behind him if this was their Italian. They should have just given that one to my husband instead of skipping him. This was all management. read more

I am at Jersey Mike's usually several times a week. My usual is the #7 mini on wheat. Although it sounds tiny, it's plenty of food even without chips. The bread is super fresh. The meat and cheese are sliced right in front of you. And, now, I can rarely have a sandwich without olive oil, vinegar, and Italian seasonings. It's a really great, super fast sandwich. read more

I cannot brag enough on their customer service and food quality. This was my first visit, I got the #13, Mike's way and is was delicious. I got it to go and drove 20 miles to my house and the bread stood up to the oil and vinegar and veggies, not even a little bit soggy. Staff is very unprofessional. Chatting between themselves while making a sandwich. At one point the guy making our food dropped his hat on our food, he just picked it up, put it back on his head with his glove hands and kept making our meal. The food seemed to have a low quality; bread was hard and lettuce browning. Overall not a great experience. I would rather just have Subway than deal with that mess again. I've been a loyal customer of Jersey Mike's for 10 years, and typically buy subs from there once or twice a month. I could easily give them a 5-star rating, if the quality control was more consistent, as their subs are easily the best, or at least my favorite. Problem is, you never know whether or not you are going to get your money's worth. And make no mistake, JMs subs are quite pricey. I went to JM on Friday, 8-7-15, and ordered my usual giant #9, Super Club. The girl making it put provolone on it, when it calls for swiss. First problem. Why should the customer have to tell the employee how to make the food? Once we got the cheese figured out, it was on to the meat. First she put turkey on the sub. She put five paper-thin slices of turkey on the sub, and she made sure to leave space between each slice of turkey, and an inch and a half gap between the turkey and both ends of the bread. I asked if that was all the turkey she was going to put on my sub, and she said yes. So I told her I would go someplace else to eat, and walked out. The kid at the register wished me a good night. The #9 is a $14 dollar sandwich, and I don't mind paying that much for a quality sub. Sadly, the girl was making a sub that was far inferior to that which I could have gotten at Subway, at less than half the price. I wish I could say that my experience a JM last night was the first time I went away disappointed, but recently, this has been the norm. So, I miss when Jersey Mike's was awesome. Anyway, I went to Firehouse Subs, where one can be assured of getting a quality sub, with generous meat portions, at a great price, every time. I'm not sure if I will return to Jersey Mike's, but if I do, and they try to make me another Subway sub, then I'll just walk out again. read more
