What a place FRESH is. I never understood how great a place like FRESH is until going to other groceries more frequently. They have everything going on here. For starters, there is a Starbucks and a Walgreens pharmacy attached, which seems pretty typical for a grocery store, but then you see they have a gelato shop, a pizzeria, a grill with a patio, a taqueria, and more. Their huge patio space makes it a place that people of Tyler love coming to and eating at. This is like a Whole Foods for Tyler. The options and selections were a lot more vast than I had ever seen. I'm seeing fruit and produce I've never seen before. They have so much wine and beer to choose from. Their bakery has so many insane options. FRESH even has a full playground next door and live music on their patio. It's honestly a really impressive shop. One of the only downsides of FRESH is that you're going to pay that price tag. Everything is always slightly more than elsewhere in town. Its quality is what makes it worth the visit. It feels like one of a kind as a grocery store, which is why it took 10-plus years to open a second location. It's not only a grocery store, it's part of the Tyler community. my wife and I have always loved shopping at this store but it seems like the last year or so it's gotten really bad we got some vegetables the last time we their that were rotten on the inside once we got them home we have had a lot of problems with brookshires with outdated lunch meat stale bread we stopped buying any type of meats the last meats we bought was really red and fresh looking on the outside until we got it home open the packages it was grey underneath needless to say we didn't eat it. so we now go to a butcher shop ah I almost forgot we also purchased the cooked rotisserie chicken once home it was raw. I'm sorry to say brookshires has always been one of my favorite stores but we won't shop with them anymore with the high cost of groceries and poor quality of products we are rethinking how we purchase our groceries. read more

Everything is fresh and clean. Great customer service. Some things are bit pricey but if you want fresh cook it yourself or fresh ready to eat or fresh and 1/2 way to the table this is the place. This is actually a very interesting concept. Bit of an odd set up in my opinion, as everything circles around a central hub, not sure what's in the hub, but it's built up and has refrigerated racks and cabinets along it's walls. Groceries are here, tho so are a few eateries. We went on the suggestion of some friends. They had a small grill outside serving burgers and beer with live music, inside was a taco spot, a sushi spot with ramen, and a pizza/sandwich shop. We had the pizza. I was surprisingly impressed with it. Ultra thin crust, ingredients had flavor unlike other spots. Basic pizza was only $10 for what most places call a medium size. Add extras for an additional dollar. I was really impressed. Lots of outdoor seating, it was busy on this Friday night but we got in and our rather quickly. read more

I'm not sure what her name is, but whoever the older lady is with short grey hair that was working at the fuel center on 8/3/25 at the end of the night needs to treat people with kindness. I was going to get gas at Fresh, but I only had my phone and no physical card, and these gas tanks don't take touch to pay yet. I knew it was late, about 10 minutes before 9pm, but it looked like the cashier was still open. I walked up to the closed window and waited for the lady to see me, and when she did, she just stared at me. No smile no "hi sorry we're closed" - nothing. Just looked at me with a scowl. I looked around and noticed the register said "lane closed" and said "oh sorry I didn't know you were closed". She didn't respond at all, just rolled her eyes and looked back down. I come to Tyler quite often, and this FRESH has become part of my routine when I visit. They have a fantastic selection of house-made items, like hummus, ready meals, salads, etc., and the bakery has some of the best brownies and blondies I have ever eaten, among other things. A great option for lunch is the food court-type area where you can get sandwiches, burritos, pizza, and lots more, and there are tables outside where you can eat if the weather is nice. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! In this situation. I went to Fresh by Brookshires to get food from their prepared food area. When I arrived a customer was being served. Another customer and I were in line, but after the person in front of me was served the employee disappeared. After standing there for a couple of minutes we were told by what looked like a cleaning employee that they were closed. There were at least 8 people behind the counter and no one could put food in a box and weigh it. It was 8:30 pm the store closes at 10 pm. I called the store while standing at the counter and the store confirmed that the section was closed even though the store's website says they close at 10 pm. I looked at the other customer in line with me as I confirmed the store wasn't going to do anything about the situation and at the same time we said...TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I traveled out of my way after work to go spend MONEY at this grocery store and all they had to say was sorry. The other customer kept shopping but I put everything I was going to buy got put back and I left the store. I don't plan on returning. I went to Sprouts for their lunch meat special but they were also shutting down for the night. The difference is the employee who was by herself offered to undo everything she did to close down for the night to accommodate a customer. I told her never mind but thank you and why and left the store. I will for sure be returning to Sprouts. Why do different sections of grocery stores close earlier then the store it's self. This review pertains to the meat market where I've been purchasing steaks since I moved to Tyler in 2012. Today, I paid $40 for 2 Akaushi filets and grilled them for dinner. I've been unlucky before getting a cut that had a bit of gristle in the meat. Normally, I can cut this filet with a fork. Tonight, both filets were uneatible due to the amount of gristle. Makes me wonder if it was truly an Akaushi filet. Anyone paying $39 per pound for a filet should get quality meat. Guess I'll have to buy my meat across town. read more

This place was a much better deal than I thought. I'm a frugal person, so I saw $$$ groceries and was scared. First off, yes, some things are ... upscale. But others are what you'd find at normal Brookshire's: bananas for 69¢/lb. Or Brookshire's frozen veggies. The point is, not everything is $$$. Some is truly $. Especially the dining area! They have ramen! And one is even spicy! $10 is reasonable compared to any other ramen place I've been to. Ditto for the pizza (Tuesdays evenings are cheaper; call/check), the sandwiches, and the burritos. And hey, they make their own gelato, and you can ask for free samples! I'd say you can eat as well as any nearby restaurant, much cheaper, and probably even healthier. There are tables inside to sit at. You can even buy a fountain soda. Visiting Tyler for the first time and was around the corner when I drove past their massive sign "FRESH"! The sign completely caught my interest and I had no idea what kind of establishment it was. I saw people out on the elevated patio with food and the weather was nice to be outside, so I went in spontaneously to check it out it. Turns out to be an extremely appealing diverse grocery store that also served fresh food! I was very pleasantly surprised on how their associates were so friendly and helpful!! This was a great place for me to visit my sister who has been raving about this place for years. So because I was visiting here in June I asked to be taken here to see how it was. And I tell you it was worth the wait! FRESH reminds me of Wegmans up here in Virginia where I currently leave. They had very fresh sushi, a large selection wine/beer selection, fresh teas, deli, fresh seafood and meats, and other food stations that looked real good! Sadly, I couldn't partake in everything is was too much to choose from. We were invited by our close friends, who once owned Sweet Dreams Winery in Palestine, to go listen to Eric Mosley at Fresh on Friday, Sept. 25th. We jumped at the chance because we always enjoyed listening to Eric when he played at their Winery. We all drove over to Tyler from Palestine, & when we arrived, we were greeted on the Patio by Eric & a long table full of our old Winery Buds. It was like Old Home Week. We're off to a great start! FRESH was a total surprise! We were really impressed with all things about FRESH! Hubby immediately walked up to the Patio Grill & ordered his favorite Brew. The Patio Bar offers some delicious looking burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, fish tacos, all kinds of American Craft Beers and all kinds of wine and drink to suit anyone's fancy. We go inside the store, and it is sensory overload! Entering off the Patio, we veered right first. WOW! This is not your average grocery store, folks! You can pick up something from the Taco Bar, grab a Professional Chef-Prepared dinner, stop by the gorgeous Salad, Dip & Hummus Bar, pick out some delicious cheese and meats for a Charcuterie Board, we then passed by the delicious looking Handmade Pasta Bar....Yum, ya might want to pick up a beautifully hand packed fruit or vegetable container to go with your dip or hummus, the Fresh Meat and Seafood Market is Unreal! ....it just goes on & on & on....all organic & chemical free. For those from Dallas, I would say that Fresh is the Brookshire company's answer to Central Market. The chef-prepared/deli section has a great selection. The sandwich making team is exceptionally slow, though. My mother-in-law and I were the 3rd and 4th person in line and waited for 30 minutes to get a sandwich. That's a little ridiculous. What I *do* like about Fresh is that you can find Greenberg Turkeys there year-round. These wonderfully smoked turkeys are usually only available for purchase via mail order during the holiday season. I like to get a turkey, break it down and store it in the freezer for using whenever we want to enjoy smoked turkey. I certainly wouldn't make a drive from Dallas to shop at Fresh, but my in-laws live in Tyler so it's convenient to stop in when we're in town for a visit anyway. read more

Aside from the maze like lay out of the store, we have a grocery store winner here. The organization and visual appearance of Fresh is aesthetically pleasing and enticing. It's just enjoyable to shop here. There doesn't seem to be much staff available to help, but when they are around they do a thorough job of making sure you get what you need. I love the deli- everything is "Fresh", I'm not trying to make a pun here. Gorgeous colored produce items, rich culinary aromas flooding the air... nearly a dozen house made hummus varieties and killer sushi at your convenience. And the desserts... look good enough to eat! They offer some unique items here, too. Like exotic fruits and hard to find ethnic products. Me and my fiancé have been coming to fresh almost weekly to get lunch quesadillas, we have always paid 2.75 per quesadilla which I think is a good price. Tonight we went and there seemed to be a lot of "confusion" I ordered my two quesadillas (both just pork and cheese) and my ticket was 5.50 and labeled "quesadillas" my fiancé was going to get ramen but changed him mind and got in line right behind me, got two pork quesadillas and was given a "taco" label that cost 8.00. We did not realize this until we were checking out, when I asked about the price I was told the price was $4 a piece and that I "got a good deal" I'm not sure how I "got a deal" when we both got the same thing at the same time and he was charged for something he did not get that cost more. Not to mention I got a full size chips and queso, he got a tiny 1oz side of queso and were charged 4.50 for both... This was the most unpleasant visit I have had at fresh and I honestly do not care to come back if this is how y'all want to do business. The cashiers refused to fix the issue even though we rang up for the wrong thing. $2.50 is not a lot of money, but it is the principal of the whole situation that is unprofessional and messy. read more
