I was so excited when I found out there was a Firehouse Subs nearby in this neighborhood! My only complaint is that it was a little challenging to get to the parking area from Highway 110. But I liked the restaurant itself. They still have the veggie sandwich, & I got that with a cookie (chocolate chip) & a drink (peach lemonade). The drink fountain has the touch-screen selections, like I have seen at other FS locations. The restrooms are 1-seaters, which may be less convenient during busier hours. Fortunately I was there for a late lunch (between 4-5pm), when it wasn't crowded at all. I hope to return to this location in the future! read more

The first time I went there, it was ok. Today was terrible. I called in my order. I was told that it would be 15 minutes. It took a lot longer than that to get my sandwich. Used to order every other week as it was close to my work- the past three times I've ordered online through the app there have been significant issues including wrong orders and different subs. Tried contacting them through the in-app support and never heard back. We both got the Hook & Ladder and this will be our #1 sub restaurant from now on!! When we go through the week, everything is top notch. but the weekends are a different story. We went today, a Sunday. Not the first time on a weekend but the same story. There was no one at the front and we waited a couple of minutes until anyone came out to take our order. The young lady seemed irritated that she had to take an order. We and another couple were the only ones there. As we sat there, the same thing occurred with other people that would come in. No one attending the front. They would prepare the food and disappear. Someone could have come in and taken you for everything you have up there. The pop machine had Dr Pepper and Coke and otherwise almost every other drink was "unavailable". The women's bathroom was disgusting. The toilet was full and the floor was soaking wet from what looked like a leak from the toilet. Had not been attended to for a very long time. To the manager. You should be concerned and you need to know. On the one positive note, the food was excellent as usual. Other than my husband asked for white and got wheat. Customer service is absolutely horrendous. I've never been to firehouse subs and the cashier Caleb was about the least helpful person on the earth. He mumbled our entire interaction and was obviously annoyed having to do his job. He asked me a couple questions but he didn't speak at an audible tone in the slightest and I'm not hard of hearing. It wasn't just me he was rude to his coworkers were audibly irritated with him as well. I understand not having a dress code but at least have your employees dress somewhat appropriately, he was not, the collar of his shirt was coming down onto his chest, it just didn't look like he should be handling peoples food. It was so bad that while he was me checking out I was contemplating just taking my money elsewhere. I also had the pleasure of him making my sandwich and I asked for extra ham on my club instead of turkey and got a very minimal amount of ham. I love firehouse subs and I am all about helping first responders if they indeed get any proceeds. HOWEVER when you have a band of entitled children with a Hugh lack of training run the place, I would give a negative star if I could . They didn't answer the phone all weekend . When you go in to order the subs, you have to wait until the girl at the register is done venting about the customer before me to place an order. I will note here that he left empty handed . My husband and I love this location and eat here at least once a week! The employees are always busy, always serving, always cleaning, always doing something productive -- Never standing around idly. The manager, Ray, always recognizes us, treats us well, and makes sure we're satisfied with our experience. He is also always working hard, never above getting out and helping his employees sweep, restock, or fulfill the more menial tasks. Our sandwich order, which legit never changes (the Hot Italian with no dressing or veggies, sub marinara sauce, extra toasted bread), is always hot and fresh and prepared exactly as we've requested. And their sweet tea is THE best. Sometimes I'll go in and order it by itself! Lastly, we love what this company stands for, and are thankful for the opportunity to support them and their mission as often as we can. Five stars, all around! Posted times for closing are 9pm. We went at 8:50 pm on a Monday night and they had half the lights off and the door locked. They just stood there smirking at us while we were wondering why they closed 10 mins early. Great place, tried it in Florida and now we have it in Tyler! The soda machine has around 120 combinations of flavors! The interior has a fireman theme. Dalmatian pattern tables. Fire axes mounted on the back wall (behind the counter) and some actual firefighter gear. The food was a refreshing change from Jimmy Johns and Subway. I got the #1, the hook and latter combo. It was around $8 and came with sandwich, medium drink and choice of chips. My choice of white or wheat. It was served warm and delivered to us at our table. Had a horrible experience. Ordered by phone online. When I checked out, I noticed the deliver button was automatically checked. I immediately called firehouse subs to tell them not to deliver it and I was on my way to the restaurant to pick it up. Got there and they had given it to Grub Hub to deliver which was a parking lot across town. They told my husband they would cancel order and remake but the manager disappeared. Grub Hub called me. I told them what had happened and I was requesting a refund and to bring food back to restaurant. I went in, asked for manager who had told my husband he was on phone with Grub Hub. Grub hub told me they had not talked to the manager. The manager told me he was on the phone with them and that he could not give me a refund. Explained I could not wait for another order as I had a doctor appt that I needed to be at. He said I would have to get refund from Grub Hub, which I did. We are staying in a hotel and wanted delivery so attempted to call - at first busy, then no answer. Again and again, no answer then busy. Second option to order through the app which for some reason goes through Grub Hub. Fine. Ordered going through the process to include paying (tip and delivery charge). Card accepted to include a confirmation email. Settled in to wait for the hour posted, THEN I get an email from Grub Hub that says they cannot fill the order. I am about a mile from the eatery..... No delivery? So I call Grub Hub as suggested in their email (yes, hours of operation were good and open) and they said they would call Firehouse. I was put on hold and when the Grub Hub Rep returned she said she could not get a hold of them - telling me the phone rand and rang. Bottom line, no food, no delivery, no service what so ever. The young lady who was supposed to be preparing my sandwich was too busy watching the basketball game on TV. I waited 10 minutes, as I sat there and watched her watch the game. After the manager finally said something to her, she began to prepare my sandwich while still focused on the game. My sandwich was great! Which is a real shame because I probably won't go back.
