I stopped by Torchy's Tacos for lunch and had a really great experience overall. I ordered two tacos and a side of nachos and everything was delicious. The flavors were fresh, the portions were solid, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality. The customer service stood out as well. The staff were friendly, quick, and made the visit smooth from start to finish. The only small downside was that I had to clean my booth before sitting down, but once that was taken care of everything else was spot on. This is a great location with tons of seating. We love the tacos here and the fact that they have breakfast tacos and other breakfast items all day. Usually, everything is consistently fresh, hot and yummy. Today was a bit of a disappointment however. Our tacos were cold, were served with no sauce (had to ask for the sauce that's supposed to come with the tacos) and just weren't great overall. I'm hoping this is a one-off and that this won't be a new trend. The bacon in my breakfast taco was soggy bits of...idk. Didn't taste like bacon. The 'crispy' potatoes were also soggy and cold. We did order a new item - the loaded nachos with fajita meat on top. They were really tasty, but there wasn't a ton of queso on them, so next time will ask for additional queso. Nachos just aren't nachos unless there's some dunkin' cheese. They were also served without any salsa or sauce. Also, the tables and the bathrooms weren't clean. Very unusual as this location is usually top notch! I'm really hoping they were just having a bad day today and will definitely be back to give them another chance! read more

I was feeling tacos and decided to stop at my local torchy's taco for a bite to eat. I've had their tacos here before and they did not disappoint. As soon as you walk in, they have several self serve kiosks if you prefer to order yourself. The orders are tracked by a tag number they assign to you after your order is placed. They have your normal variety of soft drinks as well as sweet and unsweetened teas. It is a bit noisy in there depending on what time of day it is and since Tyler is a semi college town it was loud and filled with college students. I would say once seated, the food comes rather quickly. What I ordered was a beef loaded queso and Baja shrimp tacos. The shrimp was crispy. Although the tacos had flavor, I felt like the breading was a little too watery for me. The queso tasted very good, it had your beef with green chile peppers and other condiments in there which accompanied it very well. It was on the rather grainy side like when Chipotle first came out with their queso and it was a disaster. However this queso is not a disaster it was just a bit grainy for my liking. Women's restroom had a serious water leak, there was overflowing trash and a dirty floor. Two maintenance ladies were shooting the breeze. And it smelled. The flavor is pretty good for the most part but the last two times we've been here, the steak has either been fatty or too salty. I've had orders entered wrong on multiple occasions and the churros have been cooked too long twice. The biggest gripe is the burritos. The food is really tasty, and I love the diablo sauce. However, when buying to go orders, the tacos are very very small. I had 2 of these tacos and it was short of $9. I usually don't mind the cost but they looked weak and were very small. When I dine in, 2 tacos is more than enough and I will be well fed. The tacos look like the photos that you see dining in. Don't do well with special requests. We called in an order for pickup and were very specific about the fact that one of our party is allergic to cilantro. The order arrives, and there is cilantro on the specific items we asked for it to be removed.
