Our group of 9 came here and took over almost half of the restaurant. Luckily we were the only ones there so it was easy to pull two tables together. You order your food at the counter and they will bring food to you. There gal that took our order was super patient and did a great job with our orders. Selection of sandwiches was great with a variety of options. Highly recommend the Southwestern. Love that they offer chips but for $0.75, you can get hummus side upgrade...do this! This place is phenomenal! It has fostered so many cherished memories for my friends and I for many years now. There have been so many wonderful gatherings with friends, and meetings with new people. I have come here for game nights, dates, a meeting with a volunteer coordinator, and even just to study while in college. The staff is amazing, very attentive and strive to create a welcoming positive environment for all, including those who may feel they are divergent from the main stream of society. This was a nice little coffee shop/sandwich shop. We took our food to go so we didn't get to try out the games, but they had a really nice game selection that we looked at while waiting for our food. The staff were friendly and polite. This seems like it would be a nice place for high school and college students to hang out. The only negative thing was it took a while for our items to come out, including our drinks, but this could have been due to understaffing, as it was pretty busy. read more

Where can a man get a good cup of Turkish coffee in Tyler? At boards and bites Café, of course where else would you be able to do that. I had 20 minutes to kill while my mother had a doctors appointment, I was still dragging in one of the booths so I search for a coffee house and this was the closest place to CHRISTUS healthcare and I showed up and being a smart ass that I am ask for a cup of Turkish coffee,. Jacob, who is the barista on duty asked me what I meant and acknowledge that no he was not aware of Turkish coffee, but Matt, his highly knowledgeable manager, Was overhearing a conversation and I asked him for recommendations on a trip and he recommended the equator phlegm which I had and then a few minutes later, Emerged with a little cup of cardamom spices to do an experiment making Turkish coffee without the traditional equipment that the turks do it wth. A few minutes later the 1st cup of Turkish coffee rolled off the custom assembly line and the three of us I've got to sample it. Where else would you get such attentive service, probably not at the SBUX store I don't imagine... but I have never asked so you never know as I learn if you don't ask you were not find out which was my experiment this morning. I will not say that it was the same kind of Turkish coffee experience that I enjoyed during my summer during college in the Middle East almost 50 years ago, , It was a alpha test, a first try, so the coffee really wasn't the important thing I discover there it was the experience of talking to some really nice guys, Matt and Jacob who were so solicitous and gracious to humor me and to please my palate, all of our curiosities were heightened by this experience. So be careful what you ask for, because you might just get it even if you're not expecting it! The moral to the story, ask and you shall receive more than you even expect. I will tell everybody about this place and make a point if it means going out of my way to return again to see what they doWhen I ask for a sandwich that's not on their menu and see what they do with that! What a fantastic hidden gem! I drove past the restaurant when I was taking a "Shortcut" to get to Troup Hwy. When I walked in I was greeted by a smile from behind a mask and ordered a cold brew and a southwestern sandwich. Both items came out fast and were delicious. This is the cutest little coffee shop/tea shop I've been in in forever! I came in on Thursday afternoon and was served by the cutest, nicest barista ever. I was so excited that I was able to get a London fog in Texas and the tea was everything I hoped it would be. They have an excellent selection of games for just about anyone and any occasion, and their food is actually pretty exceptional as well. My favorite sandwich of theirs only comes around every once in a while, apparently, but it's a take on the classic caprese salad -- Turkey, mozzarella, pesto, sliced tomato, and balsamic vinegar on toasted whole grain. Dakota is awesome here. He was very friendly and made great suggestions from the menu and he steeps excellent ginger peach tea! The chicken wrap was quality (saved by gorgeous cheddar) bites. The homemade hummus is very very savory with a clean palate. Dakota also made great suggestions for a game and even took the time to explain it and even checked in on us. :) Great atmosphere. This is genius! Very nice coffee shop with tables and space to spread out. They serve coffee, espresso drinks, a variety of teas, appetizers, wraps, and sandwiches. Friendly service. But that's not all. Add shelves with over 100 board games for kids through adults. $5 / person for as long as you want to stay and play. This is SO much better for kids, teens, and college students than playing games on their phones. You build conversation skills, negotiating skills, and make new friends. And I think they have a few additional rooms that people can reserve to hold tournaments or test out new games. A large coffee to go is about $3.50, which is great, but even better is the "all day cup" which is a mug for $2.50 which you can refill as often as you wish. This is such a fun place and well worth the visit!! I got a toffee latte and it was delicious. If you can get it in fine in and it comes in a giant mug and looks beautiful. Also had so much fun renting one of the many games. The staff was so kind and sweet keeping it open a few minutes past close so that we could finish our game. This sounded so appealing. What a great concept. Our swim team was in Tyler from out of town for a meet, we had a two hour break for lunch, and we were looking for a place where our swimmers could dry out and warm up and hang out for a bit. Games are $5 PER PERSON. So for our group, something like $130. That's even if you are buying lunch. Oh, and btw this place in NOT good for big groups. At least not on short notice. Yes the sandwiches are tasty - we also enjoyed the pierogies (great training food and something you pretty much NEVER find when you're eating out) and the refill on hot tea (loose tea - that's how you do it!)(altho the smoothies were not good - more syrupy than fruity). The game selection really is amazing. And the service is excellent - they worked very hard to take care of our group. But we ran them out of some of their offerings, and it took forever. Really sounded like a great and fun possibility for our group, but the execution of it left much to be desired. I was tempted to leave a lower rating, but that would be influenced heavily by our disappointment. I think this is probably a very nice place to relax and play a game w a small group of friends and enjoy some nice food - but you could very well pay as much for what is essentially a game rental as it would cost to buy the game outright. I understand that they are probably needing to recoup some of the massive capital investment they made on all those games, and they are rightly wanting to discourage freegamers, but imho the games ought to be free for paying customers. read more

If I could give this place a thousand stars I totally would! Matthew, the owner, is so sweet as well as the employees. They entertain all of your conversations no matter how crazy. Such a fun and friendly atmosphere and the coffee is 1,000 times better than Starbucks. I tried the White chocolate peppermint mocha as well as the vanilla latte and my boyfriend had the peppermint mocha, hands down best coffee I've had in years! This place is so much fun! I highly recommend it. There is a very large selection of a wide variety of games ranging from child-appropriate thru adult. There are strategy, puzzle, campaign, multiplayer, storyline, building games and more! There are several editions and expansion packs of games like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride. Accommodations for small and large groups. I tried it out with 6 others and it was $25 for us to play for the day. Seriously a great place to hang out with friends for hours! The guys that work there are very knowledgeable about games, coffee, tea, and food. They let me try an Indian pourover with honey and cinnamon added that was AMAZING and appreciated someone in our group admitting his cappuccino wasn't quite hot enough and made another one!
