Where can a man get a good cup of Turkish coffee in Tyler? At boards and bites Café, of course where else would you be able to do that. I had 20 minutes to kill while my mother had a doctors appointment, I was still dragging in one of the booths so I search for a coffee house and this was the closest place to CHRISTUS healthcare and I showed up and being a smart ass that I am ask for a cup of Turkish coffee,. Jacob, who is the barista on duty asked me what I meant and acknowledge that no he was not aware of Turkish coffee, but Matt, his highly knowledgeable manager, Was overhearing a conversation and I asked him for recommendations on a trip and he recommended the equator phlegm which I had and then a few minutes later, Emerged with a little cup of cardamom spices to do an experiment making Turkish coffee without the traditional equipment that the turks do it wth. A few minutes later the 1st cup of Turkish coffee rolled off the custom assembly line and the three of us I've got to sample it. Where else would you get such attentive service, probably not at the SBUX store I don't imagine... but I have never asked so you never know as I learn if you don't ask you were not find out which was my experiment this morning. I will not say that it was the same kind of Turkish coffee experience that I enjoyed during my summer during college in the Middle East almost 50 years ago, , It was a alpha test, a first try, so the coffee really wasn't the important thing I discover there it was the experience of talking to some really nice guys, Matt and Jacob who were so solicitous and gracious to humor me and to please my palate, all of our curiosities were heightened by this experience. So be careful what you ask for, because you might just get it even if you're not expecting it! The moral to the story, ask and you shall receive more than you even expect. I will tell everybody about this place and make a point if it means going out of my way to return again to see what they doWhen I ask for a sandwich that's not on their menu and see what they do with that! Bon appétit! A world traveler reacquainting myself with the treasures of Tyler and I just found one today.

Great selection of food and drinks! I had a Philadelphier Sandwich. It was really tasty and made quickly, as I was in there during my lunch hour. The amount of board games they have is staggering! Friendly customer service; I will definitely be back!

    Signature Latte

Excellent customer service and amazing drinks! The barista was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely coming back to try the food. I got a signature drink with rose and lavender 10/10!

Though The Foundry is ultimately connected to Bethel as their nonprofit, and many Bethel members spend time there, it misses the mark of being what feels like a "Christian coffee shop". Instead feels like a coffee shop that is driven by God, which is a very important difference to make. The Foundry is welcoming to all and is a place of peace for all. Their space is quite large, with plenty of tables of all sizes in the back, bar seating, and more. There is an outside coffee garden space that is peaceful if you happen to be around during the three weeks where Texas weather is bearable. There are also a few tables in front of the shop. There's a room that always displays local artists' work. The Foundry roasts all their own beans under Porch Culture. The team behind Porch Culture seems to have a genuine care and passion for coffee roasting, which they obviously benefits from. Certain days in the shop, you can see them roasting and experimenting in the back. I, of course, had to leave with a bag of beans to take back to Austin with me. Recently, upon my trip back home, I had a vanilla latte of theirs, which was great, plus a cinnamon roll, which was delectable. They can get pretty busy on a Sunday before a Bethel service starts, but their team usually seems on top of it most times I visit and are all very friendly and talkative. I missed The Foundry. From my time in high school when I'd go to study, or through college breaks where I used it to get out of the house and work on side projects, it was a great place to hide out, and it still is as good as I remember. RIYL: That warm coffee smell and a good co-working space.

We loved the matcha latte and can't wait to come back to try the coffee.

What is the best coffee in Tyler? What's my favorite coffee shop I've ever been to? The answer to…read moreboth is Brady's. A local Tyler establishment open for 30 years and named after the owner, Brady's Coffee was there before a Starbucks reached Tyler. Brady's might have been one of the first true coffee shops in Tyler, Texas, and it is definitely the longest running. Even in 2026, the coffee is as good as ever. For the most part, James Brady himself is slinging beans and creating masterpieces. Alongside Mr. Brady is his team of young baristas working under the maestro, taking orders and helping him where he needs it. Brady's hours have now expanded, but the quality has remained. Upon revisiting Tyler, I was very excited to go to Brady's again. As we walked through the Azalea and Brick Street districts of Tyler, we landed on the classic off white building with a green awning. Walking in, there were a few people ahead of us in line. Some ordering drip, some getting a specialty beverage, and me and my girlfriend with big smiles. The prices are still as affordable as ever, especially as places are charging $6.50 for a latte now. Brady's is selling drip for $2.50 for 16 oz, a latte for $4.50, and espresso for $2. What a steal. As we ordered, they asked if I wanted cinnamon on top of the latte, a Brady's classic. I obviously said of course. My girlfriend, with her cappuccino with a little bit of chocolate, was asked if she wanted chocolate shavings. She said no, and I told her she was crazy. She said yes after I protested her choice. We took a seat at the most iconic chairs in Brady's, the Sinners Only chair and the God Bless America chair. I got my girlfriend to sit in the Sinners chair without knowing. Inside, there's plenty of charming decor, from the "customer is rarely right" stickers. A little wait later, our drinks were brought to us. Grateful Dead played over the speakers. The music at Brady's is always on point. My girlfriend was very impressed by the cappuccino. To her, it tasted classic. The chocolate shavings were really nice according to her. My latte was also fantastic as always. What's amazing is how welcoming Brady's feels to all. It has this natural hometown feel and though the owner is strong in his religion, Brady's doesn't have Christian coffee shop "vibes" where only a certain group feels welcomed. We went back a few days later, and she got a mocha. She was impressed that it was a true mocha using real chocolate like cocoa powder versus chocolate flavorings or chocolate sauce. I told her Brady's does it differently. I dream about Brady's. There is this classiness to it that is missing from most places. It's not trying to be something it's not. It is never trying too hard. It's just a classic coffee shop. It feels like 2004 inside with a little touch of Global Village Coffeehouse. Maybe some of the best coffee I've ever had when you step back and take it all in. Thank you, James Brady. RIYL: Coffee. Like good coffee.

Opening just in 2021, Crema has become…read moreone of the top spots to get local coffee in Tyler and has built a large group of fans already. I think Crema is good, but to me, they are not really a coffee shop made to get your standard drinks at. Their specialty signature drinks are really what sells them. They are sugary, they are sweet, it's like a dessert in a cup at times. I categorize that style as "sweet treat coffee." Less about the coffee and more about coffee being the base of a sugary fun drink. That's their style, and it works for them. I think that can make a lot of people dislike them for not being as traditional as other coffee shops in the area, but that also opens the floor for people to go to Crema instead of a Dutch Bros/7 Brew and actually have an establishment with a cafe vs. just a drive-through. Their specialty holiday drinks can be pretty over-the-top and exciting as well. I remember they did a Cinnamon Toast Crunch drink once, and it was a behemoth of a drink. Crema opened after I had started going to college, but I've been quite a few times since it was the closest coffee shop to my parents' house for some time and my mom's co-workers loved going there. I would go every trip back and I started working it into my routine to hit up Crema before driving back to college every semester, getting their matcha. Before the matcha craze really took off, I tried Crema's Vanilla Oatmilk Matcha Latte, and I was pretty impressed with it because it tasted earthy but still sweet. I could best compare it to a flavor of Lucky Charms. I went to Crema when I was taking a quick trip to Tyler, and I ordered their iced Dolce with no whipped cream. I thought that it was a great treat after a long morning hike, but possibly too sweet on the wrong day. They now serve their drinks in those rounded bottom cups like La La Land does, which seems to be a trend, but it all makes sense for the concept of Crema. The spot is nice, the baristas are all very friendly, and it was buzzing with people that Sunday afternoon. The drive-through line was stretched super wide even though they were moving orders very quickly. It's great to see it doing well since I've left Tyler. RIYL: A sweet treat.
