Not very impressed for the first time we have been there, but from the reviews, it looks like most really love this place. We couldn't get past the greatly over salted -- everything. The coating on the fish filets was not bad, but the soggy fries were disappointing. The chicken fried chicken was not terrible, but it, too, was soggy. We couldn't even eat the mashed potatoes because they were so greasy, and the green beans and gravy were way too salty to enjoy. The hush puppies were not nearly as good as those we have had at the other restaurants in the area. However, all the staff were friendly and very nice. But overall, we've just found the first restaurant in this area we doubt we will ever go back to. To all those who love this place -- that's wonderful! Enjoy! read more

Crazy busy Saturday night. No place to sit. Music is ok. Getting food to go. Food is coming out of the kitchen. So thats a plus. It better be good for as long as we're waiting. 10 minute line to order. 25 minutes after ordering. Still waiting. After 35 minutes we got our food. Gumbo is authentico & fantastic. Fish is great. Horrible service 3 times now. We tried giving them 3 chances and all 3 times we did not get all of our food. We just paid $90 to then turn around and go to sonic because the staff didn't even care that we were charged for the mamas catch but only got crawfish. That was an expensive 2 lbs of crawfish. This place is decorated really cool with Cajun style, however the food is not that great. Our first time there today and we walked in and only one table was occupied. No one greeted us and we didn't know to order at the back or sit down and get waited on (you order at the back). The fries were good and the sweet tea was good, but the fried shrimp and fish were too heavily battered. No one but young adults in there running it and fighting over what music to play. You order your food at a walk up. They have a great menu. I ordered the boudin burger, bring your appetite for that one!! My wife ordered the grilled shrimp came with zucchini and squash. I have been wanting to try this place since the sign went up that it was open, but my husband turned his nose up every time I mentioned it...mostly because for whatever reason he assumed it was a young people's party place. lol. It's actually quite the opposite - with a comfy small diner vibe, super nice staff and over the top delicious food!! I finally got to try the Boudin Burger that I have been drooling over in other people's reviews. I can't even formulate words to describe the flavor profile and juicy, spicy deliciousness of this burger. That's where the OOOOMMMMGGGG came in. I don't know who thought up the concept of putting a fried boudin patty on a burger with grilled onions and jalapeños, but I would really like to hug them right about now. I think I can safely say that this was the absolute best burger I have ever eaten. I'm so looking forward to trying their other menu items...which sucks for me because I am allergic to shellfish, but I will definitely be trying everything else!! Good food Want to explore the menu. The deck is huge., I was there for lunch and had the CFS.

Ordered the Mama Catch, boudin balls, side of dirty rice, side of hushpuppies (6). They drizzle a butter sauce (different heat levels) on top of crawfish.. so beware.. it is a good butter sauce. The dirty rice was a letdown.. it was a little undercooked and lacked seasoning. The boudin balls had a nice crust, but it should be called a cheesy ball... there was barely any boudin in it.. and it could use more flavor so you prob wanna skip. I love hushpuppies so had to get an order... flavor is good but they were dry. The main event, crawfish... it was seasoned very well and the butter on top was mint! It is still early in season, so crawfish was small. It took a little bit for crawfish to come out, and they werent that busy. I will come back in a few weeks to see if crawfish is bigger. Not sure if i will try other menu items yet. read more

Oh Lawdy Lawd!!! You serious? We used to chase these guys when they would drop location sites in Tyler. I was turned onto these guys from my son... when he told me that I had to be at the Big Lots parking lot, at a certain time, and order whatever we wanted but we NEEDED to get their Swamp Fries. Sooooooo.... The wife and I did. We stood in line, that began forming before they opened... in 105°!! Whewww... "This better be worth it!", is all I could think about at the time. Well batter me up in Cajun seasoning and toss my ass into the fryer! Hot damn this place is amazing! This was absolutely perfect! And now imagine my surprise when finding out they have their own restaurant now! Ya mean I don't have to chase these guys down anymore? Love it!! The ambiance and flair of Louisiana has totally been captured with the the interior and exterior layout. The outdoor seating is my absolute favorite. I've brought my mom, my kids, and some out of towners here on various occasions, and every time- they never disappoint! Of course the Swamp Fries is a must if you haven't tried it yet. Fries smothered in Gumbo, shrimp, cheese, sausage, special sauce, over some dirty rice... mmmm A perfect medley concocted for your creole palette. We've also had the Cajun Corn and the Fried Boudin, an experience to be had for sure. Their fried fish plate is extremely tasty, but their Fried Chicken Tenders was top notch! White meat isn't my favorite but it was juicy throughout. I always worry about dried out pieces but their tenders are meaty and juicy! I can't speak highly enough of this place. I can't believe I have not tried this place before today! Okay, I made a living traveling and love my New Orleans Cajun food so maybe I thought it would not compare. However, after seeing this food truck business turn into a restaurant, and listening to the owner on the news talk about the struggle for private restaurants to stay in business and keep their prices down, I decided to give it a try today. After all, they have all these "Best In Town" awards from Tyler. So I had to drive to Flint today to try out their restaurant. Oh my goodness! I have found my new Cajun Seafood Restaurant! I am kicking myself for not coming here sooner! Believe me when I say I'm gonna be in here at least once a week. I got a boiler bag with a half a pound of shrimp and three clusters of crab along with corn and potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly and so delicious. The spices and sauce were perfect. I came at 4 o'clock right before it got busy and now I'm ordering food to go to take home. I will say it's definitely Cajun and spicy so if you don't like spicy, make sure you tell them not to add the seasoning. I like the spicy, but either way the crab and shrimp were cooked to perfection and delicious. Please come support them and don't wait too long like I did. Up to now, I've always felt like I had to go to Shreveport to enjoy true Cajun cuisine. That was until today, when I visited CMIYC. It was a spicy meal, meaning flavorful, not the hot that will drill a hole thru your tongue/stomach. The grilled fish Atchafalaya was most enjoyable and the gumbo was robust, stick-to-your-ribs fare. We have followed Catch Me If You Can since their food truck. Started by having to try Swamp Fries that everyone on social media was raving about. We branched out and tried their po boy sandwiches and variety of specials they would offer. Non of which disappoint. They move around in their food truck, but they now have an actual restaurant. I absolutely love the rustic bayou Louisiana atmosphere they have created. They have a small indoor seating and a large out door sitting area. Most of which is covered. Although I haven't been able to enjoy it yet, they have a stage for visiting bands to play. I definitely will partake one day as I love live music. The owners and staff are wonderful. Very friendly and service with a positive attitude and smile every time. Sometimes you need to have patience as they can be very busy at times. If they are busy, smile, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere, maybe even good company. When we have company visit, we always bring to Catch Me If You Can, "gotta try the swamp fires". We always end up trying other items on the menu and even giving something new a try. I tend to be caught up in conversation and often times forget to take pictures before diving in to my meal. Catch Me If You Can is a Cajun restaurant that started out as a food truck. There is seating inside and out. We were a large group and took up one side of the restaurant. Other tables were packed as well. It was very warm inside unless you were sitting in front of a fan. You order your food at the counter and a server brings your food to your table. The fried catfish was very good, but instead of a large order of fries I would have liked an order of coleslaw. We also order a mufalata sandwich that we brought home because there was so much food. We will probably go back in the fall when the weather is cooler. read more

Before I start my review... if you are thinking about going... just GO! My 4 stars is based on some really minor things but things none the less. 1. We went on a Friday night at about 7:15 PM. There was ZERO seating available inside and it was cold outside. Fortunately by the time we ordered, we had a spot to sit. It's tight quarters inside and you can guarantee your chair to get bumped while eating. The wait was LONG. It took about 45 minutes to get our food. Was it worth the wait, yes, but be prepared to wait. Would we have brought our kiddos with us, we would have been begging for some fries or crackers because our toddler would have never waited 45 minutes before having a meltdown. 2. The Swamp Fries are a MUST!! Big enough to share as a meal, definitely an appetizer for at least 4. They are incredibly delicious and each bite is incredibly flavorful. They are pricey ($21.00) but I think fair for the serving size and all the goodies on top. The grilled shrimp on top was to die for! A must order for a first timer. 3. The Bag Boiler was delicious but hubby missed the boil juice to dip things in. It comes laid out on a tray (see picture) with all the juice drained. The potatoes, corn, eggs, and sausage you have to pay for separately so they are not included in the boil. We ordered two pounds of shrimp which brought the boiler to $43.50. Again, plenty to share but pricey. We could have shared just the one pound but hubby was craving boiled shrimp and ordered extra. The butter dipping sauce was flavorful but salty. The cocktail sauce had a good kick. The shrimp are jumbo sized and will fill the plastic sauce container. They don't skimp on serving size. -- the second pound of shrimp came out later after I took a picture. 4. The place is cute! Really cute set up and decor. We didn't try any of the fried things (other than fries) but man their catfish looked so good! Really great place! Check it out! You will not be disappointed. We will come back next time we are in town and try something different but definitely will order the swamp fries again! read more

The crawfish etouffe was a bit overly salty for our taste, but still good. Didn't finish, but saved it for lunch the next day. Loved the side dish of sautéed/grilled squash and zucchini instead of standard French fries. Caveat: orders are placed at the counter, but dishes are brought out by wait staff. So let me preface this review by saying I've been eating at this food truck for about the past 2+ years. These people work so hard and always deliver. They're good people. They just opened the restaurant and I 100% advise you to visit. I tried the swamp tacos for the first time, they were good, I will say I had to remove the lettuce because it wasn't good but the taco was still good. The past years I've been eating my favorite thing on the menu is the End is Near Sammich, then the chicken tenders. They also had green friend tomatoes once that were and I hope they have them soon. Fries are always amazing and crispy. The service was welcoming and friendly. The decorations of the restaurant are so cute and creative. It really gives that swamp vibe. Please go visit! read more
