This place is the perfect picture of comfort food. Every time I go here, I leave full and satisfied. Starting with the signature honey butter croissants. Oh my goodness! So good. Every time that I go here, I order the cheese bites (cheese curds). They are crispy with warm cheese in the middle. What's not to love. I've ordered the chicken pot pie 2 times that I've bee. The crust is crispy and buttery. The chicken inside is in large pieces and tender. Overall, one of my favorite dishes. I've also had the ribs. So tender that the meat falls off of the bone. 3 people with 2 different dinners. First were drinks. Both the Sprite and water smelled moldy - like lines were not clean. Then came dinners. 2 Monte Cristo sandwiches, which had a heavy corn dog like substance covering them and not edible. Next was a chicken fried steak that had way too much flowering, and something was bitter either the gravy or something in the flowering. I had never been to a Cheddar's before so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was extremely pleased! My husband, baby daughter, and I dined in at about 5 on a Saturday a few weeks before Christmas. The place was packed but we were seated right away and taken care of with a high chair. We really liked the ambiance. Dim and chill with cool architectural features like exposed brick walls and an aquarium. Our waiter was great. Very chill, easygoing. He did a great job taking care of us. The food: the honey butter croissants! This may have been my favorite part of the meal! My daughter and I devoured these. So delicious. I loved that they brought these out to us right away. For dinner I got the 8 oz salmon and it was under $18! It comes on a bed of rice and with two sides. I got broccoli and mashed potatoes. I was a little worried about the low price point but everything was so good! The salmon was perfect. My husband got the monte cristo with fries and fell in love. Said it was one of his favorite meals ever. Overall we had a 5 star experience in all ways until we made a pit stop at the family restroom before heading out. The baby changing table was bolted shut and the bathroom had definitely seen better days and could use a cleaning. Also an employee busted in while we were in there before we locked it so it's clearly not just being used by families. Overall I would definitely return! I haven't been here in ages, so I figured I'd give it a shot. We ordered the queso and chips and the buttered honey croissants for appetizers. Let's just say that these were freaking amazing. I liked the croissant so much that I asked for one to go. My husband and FIL ordered the half steak and half ribs. I ordered a half order of ribs. The ribs were so dry that I couldn't eat any of it. The steaks were supposed to be medium rare but came out medium. Our waiter was attentive and observant. We paid the bill, but he noticed we didn't touch the ribs. He asked what was wrong and we told him how disappointed we were and how dry they were. He said we should have said something, but I didn't want to be that person. He ended up giving us a refund for our ribs, which I didn't think was necessary. Overall, good service and good appetizers but wasn't a fan of the main meals. read more

I hadn't been to Cheddars in several years so I was excited to go We were seated promptly and our waitress was great. I ordered a filet and my dtr a ribeye. Our food came out promptly. I asked for Worcester sauce and was informed they only have 57 sauce. Ok. The filet was just ok we had been to Lone star the previous week and the steak was much better than Cheddars. The baked potato was 1/2 the size of Lonestars. The margarita was good and a good price. I let the waitress know it was my granddaughters 9th birthday. She politely wished Happy Birthday to her. So I'll start yes we went in at 9:35pm and they close at 10. The hostess sat us down and as she put the menus on the table my Wife started to ask where the restrooms were and the hostess kept walking. We waited for our server, very nice young man. I asked can we order some potato soup, he said it was close to close and there was none left. I said ok, give us a few minutes and we will just order. After he left I heard another server till one of the customers that she goes outside she can't get back in because they locked the doors to come in at 20 minutes to 10 even though they close at 10? Our server came back and I ordered the chicken fried chicken and my wife ordered the chicken fried steak. I made sure to say we both just want the single serving. He said great. We both got the baked potatoes and I got the rice and my wife got the french fries. After about 15 minutes, food came out and both our main dishes were pretty warm, however both our potatoes were fairly cold and hard. Wife's french fries were very cold and she didn't want any of them. We waited four our server who I think was closing up came back later and asked if we wanted anything else. It was now just a little after 10, so we knew the kitchen was closed and couldn't send anything back to be redone. Also, look at my portion compared to my wife's portion. Mine is 1/2 the size as hers. I asked the waiter if they're both the single serving why is first twice as big as mine, his answer was I don't know. We just decided to pay and go. On the way out we stopped and asked for the manager, explained what happened with our food and said she may want to have a talk with the kitchen and even though we're close to close time, we should still get our food hot otherwise we're just never going to come back and that leads to no customers which leads to the restaurant closing unfortunately. She said thank you and that was it, didn't really seem like she cared one way or another. If you can't give great food up until close and keep the doors open until 10, maybe close at 9:30. Although does that mean that everybody would just start checking out at 9pm. We hadn't been here since June 2020, I guess we will see you in 2025 if your still around. read more

I brought my elderly parents for lunch on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm. We were greeted and seated promptly. I love the atmosphere. The lighting is dim but there is plenty of lighting that sets a relaxing mood. Another favorite is the large fish tank located near the front entrance. Our service was fantastic and quick. The only complaint is the surprise charges on the bill which I didn't review prior because the waiter pulled up the bill on their company tabs ready to insert card. Also, I was not expecting hidden charges. My dad asked for a plain baked potatoe and they charged a dollar for added bacon. I got a surprise charge for garlic butter on my sirloin steak and an extra charge for bacon, sour cream and cheese on my baked potatoe. I would return but will review my bill prior to paying. Really great comfort food, with king sized servings. We tried the homemade chips and queso with homemade salsa and the homemade salsa was AWESOME. The queso was pretty good too. This is a great stop with lots of big tables and booths. The booths are private enough that you almost feel dining on your own. Nice lighting and we got a window seat. Spacious and clean dining area. For entrees our party got a chicken tender platter which had massive portions with huge meaty chicken tenders and a huge portion of fries. Also an 8oz sirloin which comes with 2 entrees. The steak was juicy and cooked to perfection and they definitely do not skimp on portions. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a side Caesar salad. The burger had such amazing flavor and was super juicy. Cooked perfectly medium well with a little bit of pink, just as the menu states (med well is default, but you can order it any temp). The burger was stacked with fresh lettuce and tomato, a nice slice of cheddar cheese, and a toasted brioche bun. This was one of the best burgers I've had in such a long time and will remember it for awhile to come. The fries here are pretty good, they have a Parmesan herb coating so if that is not your thing, maybe try a different side or ask for them plain. We also got great service. There were lots of people dining and lots of people waiting yet we got seated in only 5-10 minutes after putting our name down. We had a great waiter who came to check on us multiple times and even pre-emptively brought us refills on drinks and a to-go box when we were starting to get full. The prices vs food quality vs portion size make Cheddar's an absolute win in value and great bang for your buck. Next time we are back in Tucson we will definitely consider stopping back here again! read more

The food is good, chicken was kinda bland, overall nothing special. Service was sufficient, but the server talked way too much. Entering the restaurant: You are celebrating a cousin's graduation with your grandparents, you decide to go somewhere you're not familiar with, "Cheddars", 4.4 stars seems neat, you begin heading over there. You're greeted by a hostess who asks how large your party is. Once you tell her your party size, you're immediately told to follow her to the table. "Good thing we missed any wait." Walking to your table, you look around to see a fairly muted restaurant environment than what you're used to. Soft lighting, minimal decorations, and faint music. More of a place you'd have dinner with your in-laws rather than having a night out with your friends. Ordering your food: Everyone is handed simple laminated menus, nothing special. The server (20-ish Male) introduces himself and asks for the drinks, fairly straight forward. Once you think he's going to move on to the next table, he asks, "So how are y'all doing, what brought y'all here?". This isn't anything that you're not used to, so you tell him the gist, but what happens next is that he keeps on asking you questions, and questions, none of which have anything to do with your order. You talk and talk until it gets to a point where you have to ask him if he could put in our drinks for us, and he complies. You chat a little about how much the guy was talking, read through the menu, and decide that you're going to have fried chicken. The server comes back with your drinks, and now you can put the order in. Your grandparents only speak Spanish and try to order some ribs off the menu, but the server does not speak Spanish, so it takes a bit of translating, but you're able to get their orders in. Dining: Everyone's entrees come out, and you begin eating. Food is nothing special, the chicken is kind of bland, but you're hungry enough that this isn't too much of an issue. Our server comes back to check on us, and we ask if we can order one of the desserts. Our server writes our order down and says he'll get on it right away. Immediately after saying that, he moves on to the next table to get their orders, but instead of just getting their order and moving on, he decides to chat with them. What ensued was no joke, the longest conversation you have ever seen with a server and their customers. It gets to a point where you start joking about how long this server was talking and how he's trying to stall for something. This went on for 15 minutes straight, and he was still talking. You get up to use the bathroom and overhear another customer complaining that their server still hasn't gotten them their waters, you immediately know which server they're talking about. A manager has to go over and tell the server to get going immediately. The whole process just to get a single dessert took longer than it took for everyone to get their entrees. You ask for some to-go boxes, pay your check, and leave. It's been 8 months, and you still think about that server. read more

I had the chicken penne pasta, no broccoli & no parsley. The food came out & it was barely warm! I asked the server to take it back to warm it up, she acted liked it was a bother to her! My food was FINALLY brought back & they had thrown A LOT of parsley on! So, I sent it back again! Finally, on the third try, it was ok enough to eat a little! The chicken is on a bed of rice with 4 grilled shrimp. The pineapple pico de gallo was on the side instead of on the top of the chicken. I had asked the server if there were onions in the pico and she said, "I don't think so.." I can't eat onions as they make me throw up. The food was served with onions in the pico so I pushed it aside. The chicken was covered with a sweet garlicky sauce the went all over the plate into my green beans and corn. I was contemplating what the theme at Cheddar's is, as I looked at their gorgeous fresh water tank and their woven fans on the ceiling but I'm still not quite sure but it doesn't matter because they're a great deal for great food. My favorite is the pecan salad with the grilled chicken. The chicken breast is seasoned perfectly, without being spicy, or overdone. How is it that my lunch entree has more food than my dinner. I order the same entree. My husband potato was still hard and cold, it was loaded and the cheese did not melt. He didn't complain because we were hungry and didn't want to wait. Kinda sad. But still a pretty and nice atmosphere. Credit for that. Also, when our waitress came with our water, it was over flowing and spilled on my table. She said sorry but didn't wipe it. ‍ Left (lunch) right (dinner). I barely saw the rice in my dinner plate.
