At work I've been given the nickname "chicken pot pie" for it seems like every time we go to eat, I order it. So now when I travel I try to find it so to keep to my nickname and I like a good one. I searched on Yelp for it and found this place and looked at their menu and they had it so made the drive. The chicken pot pie comes with a side salad. The only thing is that I wish the salad came first then the pie but got them at the same time. The pie was very tasty. My only complaint and this is going to be a weird one considering it is a chicken pot pie is that there was too much chicken. Still so good and sooo busy! We haven't been here since bc. The food is very good, filling and well priced. We started with the Wisconsin cheese bites and then moved to the Santa Fe spinach dip with chips both were very good. The cheese bites were served hot and stringy just the way you want them. The chicken tenders are always an excellent choice. They were crunchy on the outside with nice sized pieces of moist chicken on the inside. My husband had the salmon and said it was very good, flaky and cooked perfectly. The coconut shrimp was good but needed to be crisper my daughter and I were both disappointed. My daughter had the steak and coconut shrimp which she said was very good but the steak was little over seasoned. My son-in-law had the chicken fried steak which was good as well. One word of warning they have quit carrying the brown gravy they only have white gravy for the mashed potatoes. They brought a very nice size portion of Alfredo pasta for the kids meal, more than she could eat. Desert was huge! You can definitely share it four of us ate the hot fudge chocolate cake and we still left quite a bit on the plate, it was very rich! I'm visiting Tucson and stumbled across this restaurant. So happy that I did. I've been here three times in 2 weeks. It's that good. I love the ambiance...dark and softly lit, with cozy booths. The service has been excellent for all three of my visits. Friendly, attentive and the food comes out fast and well prepared. The Garden Salad is very delicious. Cold and crispy with cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg, cheddar cheese, croutons and choice of dressing. I had thousand island tonight and it was so good. In a prior visit I chose the blue cheese dressing and it was good too. Tonight's dinner choice was chicken pot pie...Tender white meat chicken with peas and carrots in a creamy sauce. Perfect for this cold weather...it snowed in Tucson today! On my first visit, I had bone in rib-eye with a baked potato and a garden salad. Perfectly cooked med. rare steak and a fluffy baked potato. Second visit, I had grilled salmon, steamed broccoli and a garden salad. The dish came with rice...and it was the only thing I did not care for as it was undercooked and drowning in the glaze for the fish. Honestly I don't know why cheddars doesn't get more hype. My friend and I stopped by around 10 to have some drinks and a appetizer. I'm usually a margarita kind of girl but switched it up with the pain killer and it was so good it tasted like paradise in your mouth so good I had two. When I was younger and living in Texas, Cheddar's was one of the ubiquitous fast casual restaurants, always near a Chili's. It wasn't great, but it was modestly priced and filled you up. Fast forward to 25 years later and Cheddar's has rebranded itself as a scratch kitchen. I was pretty skeptical, but when we got there about an hour before close, on a weeknight, and still had to wait 20 minutes for a table, I knew it must have improved by light years. When we were seated, we had pretty speedy drink service and decided to get the appetizer trio, so that we could try a wide range of items. The only complaint I had was that the queso had been sitting for a while and became a little thick from cooling, but otherwise, it was all delicious. I ordered the chicken fried steak and the portion was big enough that I was completely full for 2 meals. Also, my husband ordered the Painkiller drink and we initially laughed when it said yoy could only order 2 max. When the drink came, it was 90% rum and we finally understood the 2 drink max. If you need a stiff drink, this is the one for you. So, years and years after my first Cheddar's experience, I can actually say I'd be willing to go back here (more than once)! read more

Two hostess up front, one seemed pretty crabby, possibly having a bad day but yeah definitely didn't seem happy to accommodate us. We got sat pretty much right away. Our family has come here a few times and the food and the service has always been great. This last time however my meal was not. The server was very nice and efficient. I got the steak and broiled shrimp which is what I always get when I come here. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. The plate had maybe about a tablespoon of the rice with five pieces of shrimp. basically the presentation of my dinner plate was crap. I also got a side of broccoli which the broccoli looked like it was about two days old brown and soggy. The steak was taken back and a new one cooked which was much better. When I spoke to the manager her attitude was well sorry didn't even make an effort to take a percentage of the meal. Prices have increased portions got smaller. Upon arriving to cheddars everything was fine. Wait time not super long, I wanna say at least ten minutes. Server was very nice and surroundings were clean. When we were ordering food though we though all was well we placed an order for drinks and food. When we received our food however we got what seemed almost like canned veggies???? My partner took a bite and immediately gagged. When we asked our server if we could swap out the green beans for fried he seemed a bit hesitant/annoyed and went ahead and got our request. Our server was really nice, even though it took her over 10 min to come to our table and we never saw her again. It was the food we had issues with. All of our dishes had very little flavor. I got the steak and ribs. I asked for medium rare and the steak was more rare than I would have liked (see pic). The ribs are also pretty fatty and all the flavor is on top with the sauce, instead throughout the meat. I also asked for no gravy on my mashed potatoes, but got gravy. I stopped in Tucson on a trip and found this place close by to the hotel. I ordered for pick up since I was tired and wanted to relax in the room. When I went to pick it up I almost changed my mind and wanted to eat in because the place was pretty cool, I may have if I didn't have my dog waiting in the car. The food came out in just a couple minutes, enough time to pay for it and take a peek around. I ordered the country fried steak with mashed potatoes, broccoli cheese casserole and garlic bread. The country fried steak was freaking massive!!! It covered the whole take out box! As big as it was it was mostly this cornflake type breading. I would give it 7 out of 10. The gravy it came with was maybe 6 out of 10 (I had just tried Cracker Barrel country fried steak recently so Cheddars had big shoes to fill and didn't quite make it). The garlic bread was terrible and hard as a rock. The real winners however were the mashed potatoes and the broccoli cheese casserole... these 2 things were really delicious! I went to Cheddars yesterday for the first time. I have the chicken fried chicken with coleslaw and green beans. It was delicious, the chicken was tender, it melted in your mouth and the slaw was like I grew up eating and the green had a sweet taste to them which was new, but very pleasant. This review started out at 1-2 stars. It ONLY went up because of Tanisha, the manager. My son and I stopped. It was not too busy, however, seems they asked us, and several others if we wanted to sit at a high top in the bar, no. We were seated in a booth and welcomed. Ordered medium-rare steak. Meanwhile, lights still blinking. (Nothing can be done while people are seated, yet they kept seating people there.). Our food came. My son's looked great! Looked at mine. My steak looked small, thin, much like shoe leather. It was cooked at least well done! Turned on the server caller which is a flashing red light on the small console at the edge of the table. Went to eat my potato, it was a bit too hard, undercooked, so I waited. MANY employees walked past, many looked as though they purposely didn't look at it. Our server walked past with another order. I assumed she'd come right back....she didn't. She disappeared! As I was about to get up and find someone, our server finally came back. She said sorry, I'll have them cook another. It was barely medium, closer to medium well. Server asked if I wanted the manager, thankful I said yes. She came over and saw both steak mistakes and asked if she could personally cook my steak. She also said I would not be paying for it. She took the second steak back, came back a couple minutes later with a perfect steak. It was awesome. I had noticed, on the console, our order came up with the bill. Server ordered the steak wrong to begin with (even though what she ordered didn't even match what was served). Busy night. We had about a 30 minute wait for a table but it was worth the wait. We started our adventure with the incredible honey butter croissants and the sampler plate. On to a nice cut of steak. I ordered mine with off the cob corn and sweet baby carrots. Others had their steak with mac and cheese and the loaded baked potato. One of our party had a burger and commented how tasty it was. Yea I know this is a chain restaurant but I'm still going 5 stars and here's why in a nutshell. Ty, Ty, Ty the waiter, Ty. This dude was off the chain amaze balls. We came on a crazy busy Saturday night. There were at least 50 people waiting but the hostess told is it was only a 25 minute wait. And almost to the minute she took us back to a table. (I appreciate honest wait times) Ty came over right away and got us started with drinks and water. He made a recommendation on a drink and off we went to a great dining experience. The food was really tasty and very reasonably priced. Our drinks were never out, every detail was taken care of, and he did it with a very friendly genuine attitude. He's the kind of waitstaff that you hope to encounter everywhere you go. If I managed this restaurant, I'd be making damn sure he was training my employees. This place was overflowing with people when we arrived at 4:30pm on a Saturday. We were given a pager, but ended up only waiting about 5 minutes; it helped that we had only 3 people in our party. We were guided to a cozy, spacious table in a corner. Our server was constantly busy but we were never left wanting. We had the small cheese fries as an appetizer. My husband and son LOVED this. The cooks were very generous with the cheese and bacon--always a good thing! I was fighting a migraine, so I (fittingly) ordered the Painkiller cocktail. This was on the menu with a limit of two drinks per person. I only had the one, but it did the trick and was quite tasty, too. My husband enjoyed a Barrio Red from on tap. For my main dish, I had the strawberry and spinach salad with salmon. It really hit the spot. Everything was fresh and the salmon was perfectly cooked. My husband had a 20 ounce bone-in ribeye. It was well-seasoned and cooked rare. As my husband pointed out, it wasn't a prime steak but it was a good steak. The sides with it were fine. Our son ordered off the kids' meal: macaroni and cheese with garlic bread and an apple juice. He enjoyed it, especially the bread. When we left, there must have been 40 people outside waiting for tables to open up. I could understand why. This was a fabulous restaurant, and if I was a local, I'd be by to visit often. read more
