I have NEVER in my life been treated the way me and my family were at this establishment. We were here for a family dinner for my teenage sister in laws birthday, when some belligerent redneck at the table next to us had some sort of exchange with my sister in law and she started flying off at the mouth about how well she can fight and how she was disgusted at how we ruined her meal. Long after the commotion had stopped she continued to mouth off racial slurs and exhibit aggressive behavior at the table to the extent her own husband had to tell her to shut up! They ended up leaving, and we continued with our meal in peace. We had complained about the fact it took over an hour to get all of our food and then the food that was served was practically cold. About 30 minutes later Austin PD shows up and with a very snarky matter of fact attitude informs us that management asked they escort us out!!!!! He was completely unwilling to hear anything we had to say about what happened. Never ONCE did any of the staff ask us what happened. Never once did management come talk to us about any concerns they had. Because anyone around us could've easily seen that the disruption was NOT our fault. Apparently the Manager Gene or Michelle (because apparently none of the staff seemed to know who their manager was) was so offended by OUR behavior they didn't even ask for us to pay for our meal, they just wanted us to leave immediately. I have never been so disgusted and offended in my life. And on top of that, out of the nearly 2 hours we were there my uncle NEVER recieved the steak he ordered. My kids food was never given to us smh. I will literally never in my life eat here again. read more

Waitress was nice but forgot my Texas toast even after I asked twice. Mash potatoes were cold.

Good food and decent prices but that cannot make up for the abysmal experience with the hostess stand and the service. I've told my husband we won't be back to this location for quite a while as no matter what level of management (local on up to corporate) listens to the complaints, nothing ever changes. Their is an inherent problem at this location that we've never experienced at any other Cheddar's. read more

Slow service. Raw shrimp and stale noodles in my asian salad. I've definitely had better.

Although the food is very good (I used to frequent Cheddar's), the service is atrocious. After waiting half an hour for a table, we were seated (we did expect to wait). After 10-15 minutes, someone finally came by to get our drink and food order. Another 10 minutes and we had our drinks with a promise our ordered salads and bread would be on their way. We wait another 15-20 minutes and the waitress brings our table of 4 two of our ordered salads (which was really one salad portion split in 2 bowls) and explains to us that they ran out of salad and they are baking more bread. By this time, all of our drinks were empty, so we requested refills. We'd been out golfing, so we were extremely thirsty and judging by how long we'd waited for 2 salads, we politely requested a second glass of water to hold us over in case we were abandoned again. 5-10 minutes later, the waitress comes back to slam down 8 glasses of water and refills our existing glasses, leaving us with a total of 12 glasses of water on a tiny table. So we ask to speak to a manager. The waitress asked us (in a very short and annoyed tone) if there was anything else she could get us. At that point, we'd had it and asked again for some food - bread, an appetizer, anything to eat. She walked off and the manager came over. We explained to the manager about our dissatisfaction with the slow service and lack of salad/bread. She told us that she was sorry (not very convincingly). When we complained about the waitress' behavior, she told us that we'd been rude to her (which we hadn't until she was rude to us) and basically implied that we were at fault and should just suck it up. At that point, we asked for our check (one of us ordered tea) so we could leave. I haven't been back since. Any restaurant that acts like serving their customers is an inconvenience and doesn't actually feed you and then complains when you ask for food is not the place for me. read more

AWFUL, rude and unprofessional! The server showed up with my plate of food holding it against her dirty clothing. She claimed it was because the plate was too hot. I sent it back and asked for a manager. The manager came over with an attitude justifying why they don't serve food to customers on trays. Then the server came back to the table loud & fussing about it not being her fault how food is prepared. Clearly, this location of Cheddar's is accustomed to dealing with people who will tolerate ANYthing. I'm not the one! Learn to be professional and offer a freaking apology - at the very minimum. We never got the rest of our food and never received any support from management. read more

I really enjoy the desserts here they are awesome. The country fried chicken with gravy is so good enough food for 2 people. The prices are very good for all the food you get. read more

I would actually give a half star review, ONLY because our waiter tried. The restaurant was extremely dirty and under staffed for the Austin Rodeo time. When we finally where seated they tried to seat us at a table that the floor was dirty with left over food that a child had dropped on the floor. They moved us to different table, and the table next to never got cleaned or dirty dishes removed form the table. We had to look at dirty dishes the whole time we ate!!!! As we were leaving they needed that table so instead of taking the dirty dishes to the kitchen they just moved them to a different table. The bathroom where dirty as well, paper towels and water all over the floor. The men's restroom stunk. As we walked out the the door three hostess where just standing around, could they not clean tables and bathrooms!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Worst place ever. Horrible service and customer service. Last time I set foot in this cheddars. I asked for Manager and a cook came out. He was probably the kitchen manager . No manager on site. If could I would give them no stars. But I would not be able to post this review. read more

I recently went to Cheddars on Saturday around 6:30pm.I expected a wait and was told it would be 5-10 min for a party of 3 and a toddler. We were seated in the bar area with a booster seat for my grandaughter, she would not stay seated so we pulled around a high chair, everything was fine. The waitress came and took our order for our appetizers and drinks and did not say anything to us regarding the high chair.Delivered the drinks & appetizers and took our order, while we were eating the Mgr Bobby came over and stated that we could not have a high chair in the bar area ,we asked for another table and was told we would have to be put on the waiting list again and he saw we were eating and we told him that we had ordered our meal never said another word. Why would you seat a party in the bar that needed a high chair and why did the waitress not say anything first.Cheddars has seen the last of my family as they are not kid friendly at all, very rude for a manager not to even apologize read more

My boyfriend and I just ate here. Our server, Kyle, was pretty rude. He had the attitude that you would expect from a high school jock. That's the best way I can explain it. I had to drink from my boyfriends drink because he didn't bother to refill mine. When he was offering us things he sounded like he was being forced to offer them or like he was too cool to be there. It was uncomfortable. When we were ready to pay he just tossed the check on the table (even though my boyfriend had his hand out to take it) and knocked his knuckles on the table and walked away. Not sure what we did but he definitely came off as a douche. First and last time eating here. read more

I've been to this location a few times and it seems things get worse each time I go. The last 3 visits were especially bad. The first of these was with a medium-large party, about 8-10 of us. It took over 20 minutes for my Caesar salad to come out (and it came out with croutons, when I told my server twice I did not want croutons). Everyone else already had and finished their appetizers before I got my salad. The meal was alright and correct, but it took her a total of 45 minutes to bring us out checks and to ring everyone up. We asked for a manager and no one came. The next time I was with a larger party, about 15-20 people (graduation dinner). Again, my salad took forever (the server told me he called for it 4 times and he finally had to get a manager to get it out to me). Even though we all ordered at the same time, there was about a 15 minutes gap between the first round of plates being served and the second, some of which were wrong. Then when it came time to check out, someone else's alcoholic beverages ended up on my check despite the fact that I only had water. Took a while to get that straight. My last trip, I was alone. I ordered spinach dip with no sour cream. That took 20 minutes because another server mistakenly grabbed mine and took it to the wrong table. I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and red beans and rice (double starch, I know, whatever) and I was not told until my salmon and rice were delivered that they were out of mashed potatoes. I end up asking for a baked potato. Well about halfway into my red beans and rice I see I nice long straight black hair. My hair is curly and light brown. Needless to say I was disgusted. My server was total sweetheart and the manager comped everything after all the problems, but I can't say I'll eat there again by choice. read more

Service is pretty quick. Atmosphere is still decent. Their steak with bourbon sauce is actually pretty amazing. Love the buttery croissants and salad. read more

I gave this 1 star only because I have to. It should be zero. My family and I fell in love with this restaurant shortly after moving to the Austin area. The last two visits we have had awful service. About a month ago our server seemed to be under the influence of something and spilled a soda on my husbands lap, mixed up our orders, forgetting most of the order as well. Then tonight we go out in a group of 9 people. As soon as I went to the hostess stand I was met with an attitude because we were a large party. I then visited the ladies room to find that the floor was flooded through out the whole restroom. We had to ask for silverware, to which we were told that they ran out and we were brought plastic ware that they give with to go orders. When our food came out it came out in multiple trips. Mine and a friends burger was wrong. Our friend who ordered ribs didn't get his veggie side, someone who orders the citrus miso chicken was served with BBQ sauce, sent it back and was served the same thing again. Another friend friend orders lasagna and it was ice old inside. And another friend never got his side salad. When we asked to speak to the manager, our complaints were met with excuses that this was the first he has head of the issues we have had, he was busy with other stuff, and it wasn't his problem even though he is the manager. Over the last 5 years that we have lived in the Austin area service to attention to detail at this restaurant has gone down hill. read more

Took forever to come take our order. Took forever to bring out the food. Food was cold. Never brought out all of our sides. Took forever to bring the check. Only saw the waitress once when ordering and once when checking out. Was worth 0 stars. read more

The food and drinks are good (when you can get one), but the service is terrible. I wanted 30 mins for water!!!

Called twice to place an order for carry-out and twice was transferred to the bar where it just rang without an answer. Poor service.

It was our first time to dine at Cheddars. I finally was able to convince my bf to try this place. What a disappointment. The server was very abrupt and it was very obvious she did not want to be there. We thought to give her a chance in case it was just our imagination. She came back and basically slammed our plates down. She never came back to check on us. We noticed that the party right across from us was having the same issue since they have the same server. She finally went and complained to the Manager on duty. After her table was transferred to another server, the manager on duty decided to check in on us. i thought that was very wise. We were told that there has been several complaints about the server but since they cannot hire people fast enough poor customer service will have to be accepted. He tried to buy us our next meal but we declined since we are never going back to that restaurant. He asked for my phone number so they could at least get something in writing that they could put on her file. I never got the call from the Manager on duty. i guess this was not important enough to follow through. The very next day , I went to the Cheddars website to let them know that the poor customer service that we received will need to be addressed. I entered my information so they can contact me for more details. That has been over a month ago and I have yet to receive any calls. As for the food, it is ok. If you value your time and money, there are better restaurants with the same price range that will show they appreciate your business. read more

So the service isn't really consistent, if you get seated towards the back right side of the restaurant good freakin' luck getting service at all let alone decent. I am not sure how they number tables or distribute them to the servers but I don't think it's very organized. To me if service isn't decent the whole experience is a downer. The last two times we've gone have been better but it's not as great as it used to be. read more

I called Cheddars to place a to go order, i was placed on hold for nearly 15 minutes. When was finally able to place my order I left my house and arrived 10 minutes after I called it in. I opened the to go box to look at the food and it looked horrible like it had been sitting for a while. It did not look fresh and was not appetizing in the least. I spoke with a managr who was not concerned with customer satisfaction so we returned our to go orders and went to another restaurant where customer satisfaction and good food was first priority. Cheddars has been going down hill and we will not continue to go to this restaurant when the service sucks! Improvements are needed and requested immediately! read more

I went again and my experience was much better. Although what I wanted to eat they didn't have any ingredients left..So I was bummed. The waitress was really nice and did apologize for them not being able to make what I wanted to eat. (Like it was her fault, I blame the person that orders the food) But I would go again. read more

Horrible!!!! After an hour there tonight we still didn't eat and finally asked for our food to be boxed to go when it was ready. Waitress was nice but incredibly bad at her job. 15 minutes to get waitress to table 30 mins to get drinks 50 minutes to get our queso that arrived cold. Never again! Go to the 183 location not this one! read more

Over the weekend my relatives came to visit so I took them to dinner here. Waited 15 min for my drinks, 45 min for the food this all doesn't matter or bother me because I'm very understanding with the way restaurants run things. My problem was when this waitress came around and asked "if everything was okay?" And My sister-in-law told her, "no. No one has refilled our drinks." She snatched the glass away and I caught her rolling her eyes. This was very frustrating Our drinks were in fact empty since before we received our entree and at the time we were so mad we even lost our appetite. They didn't give us plates to share the appetizer, and made us wait an unreasonably amount of time for everything when it's not even busy, So I asked another waiter if we can talk to a manager, he never fulfilled our request, then another lady came by and we told her we liked to see the manager, finally 20 min after the manager comes, So I told her, "I'm not asking for a discount or anything free, I'd just like to like you know that our service tonight was horrible." I proceeded to explain our experience. The manager immediately replied that our waitress was the "best and she works overtime." Uh... I've never ever EVER not tipped my waiter/waitress before in the 21 years I've lived here in the US. This place is just a joke. read more

As others have stated, the food was really good, but the service was sub-par. I ordered a salad with my steak & ribs, and my server asked if I'd like it before the meal and I said sure. Then our food came out but still no salad. Then sat for 10 minutes with empty drinks, and when our server finally came by I told her to remove the salad from my bill, and that we would like more drinks. 10 minutes later our drinks arrived, and my wife requested more butter for her potato, a request that was never filled. With so many restaurants to try in the area, it will be a long time before we ever even consider going back, even though the food was pretty good. read more

The service takes forever. None of the wait staff is nice. Never come here. They won't serve you. The food ain't great either

Wow! I have not been to Cheddars in a while but I will not be going back. The host took us all around the restaurant and left us standing and waiting to search for a table when there was tables available. Our waiter was unprofessional and took very long to bring us our drinks. We then waited 40 minutes never got our appetizer. The other waiter was non stop helping his tables and customers I guess we got the unfortunate of the staff. We ended up walking out but I did let the manager know how horrible the service was. Won't be going back. read more

On my wife's recommendation, this was our first visit to a Cheddars restaurant and most likely our last. When we arrived, we were hardly greeted by the young man and lady at the stand; we were told we had to wait for a table because a high chair for our baby cannot be placed at end of a table or at a booth. When my wife asked how long the wait might be, we were treated as if we had suddenly inconvenienced the hosts by asking a question that to any customer would seem normal. Would you ever go into a restaurant and wait for a table without even getting a clue as to how long the wait might be? When my wife asked is there was any other options, like perhaps getting a booth or a table at a dead end of the restaurant, where the high chair would not be in the way; we were again told no. After a few more minutes of waiting, the caddy and sarcastic boy at the host stand took visible pleasure in saying the following, "okay a dirty table is ready for you," and actually had the audacity to try and have us follow him to a dirty table (he was trying to escort us to a dirty table)! It just so happened that as we began the walk to our dirty table, that a manager arrived to take us to a different table. Much to our surprise, we were seated at a clean booth, and a high chair was placed at the end of the booth near an exit! I have to say, our server, Ralph did a great job at our table and we were pleased with his service, but I cannot remember the last time we were treated this poorly anywhere. The young lady at the hostess stand even capped off our horrible experience at your restaurant by not even acknowledging us as we walked out of the restaurant and went right by her. Thanks Cheddars, you really know how to make a first impression and build loyalty. read more

Good food. Good prices. A place one can go with the family or just to meet up with friends for lunch.

TERRIBLE!!! Terrible service & terrible management. There were 8 of us for my nephwe's birthday. It took 3 times asking the waiter for a high chair before we got up to get it ourself. The manager watched us get it and never acknowledged to help. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, my tilapia was raw in the middle. I sent it back and waited another 30 minutes while everyone else ate their food. Again, I saw the manager look our way when I sent my food back. He never once came over to the table to speak to us. I would not have put even the one star, but the review will not let you leave this option blank. WE WILL NEVER WASTE OUR MONEY HERE AGAIN!!! read more

01/02/2016 My family and extended family went in for a birthday celebration. The first part of our party got there at 2:41, my family at 3pm. We didn't get seated until 3:15. We sat at our table for 30 mins and no came to the table to take a drink order. Had to flag a waiter down, and he took the drink order. Had to give him an ink pen to write our orders. I got up to ask for a manager and he did it know what was going on and our waiter should have been there. Yeah! Right! They finally took our order, same manager doesn't know the difference in a hurricane drink and hurricane colada drink. The service was deplorable. I go out to eat for good customer service and good food. I and the rest of my party was very disappointed. I would think twice before going back. The management sucks. read more

The spinache dip has to be my favorite of all time. And the lemon pepper chicken was cooked perfectly.

Usually I have a great experience when I go to Cheddar's but today was just HORRIBLE!! Me & a couple of coworkers went & it took over 5 minutes to be seated but we still had to wait on another person in our party so that was fine & the waiter took our drink order but it took him 20 minutes to come back (which he didn't) so I asked for a manager & the manager sent over another waiter (which was great). WHY didn't the manager come to talk with us is still upsetting but anyway after we ordered our food it took over 30 minutes for us to get it for it to only NOT taste right!! It's always a hit or miss with service but this was my last time going!! #customerlost read more
