Stopped at this new Cheddars for the first time since their grand opening in February for lunch today and as I sit here in my bed with nasty cramps from the disgusting food I should've known better not to eat. So I felt compelled to warn others. Service was super slow and the food either burned or just plain nasty which we didn't finish. I mean who burns a spinach dip (pictured). Not to mention the fact we arrived at 12:45pm and we didn't receive our food until 2:15pm. We ordered chicken tender salad coconut shrimp with broccoli, I mean nothing fancy or complicated. Anyway, save your money and go somewhere else. From the other complaining customers and the lady yelling at the hostess about waiting for a server I definitely don't see this place lasting very long. read more

From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the friendly hostess to my server Megan she was GREAT she went above and beyond for me. She always had a beautiful smile on her face. the worst experience I have had dining at a restaurant in a very long time. I am in complete shock at how this place can possibly be running. I walked in to get a table for my family on mother's day weekend but there was no hostess in sight. After about five minutes I walked around the restaurant to look for an employee, which is a difficult task, considering everyone seems to be hiding in the back. It only got worse once we sat down, service was very unprofessional, no suggestions, and seemed like we didn't want to be attended to. The food took about an hour to arrive and was subpar. When we were almost finished with our entrees, the server said she was sorry about the salads that never arrived and said she had to go make them herself and brought them at the end. We also ordered margaritas but the server said no glasses were clean to make them so it would take some time. Management needs retraining and so do the employees, unfortunately a waste of time and money for us. read more

First time customer. Ownership might be affiliated with Olive Garden as the decor and computer kiosk at each table are similar. Ordered spinach dip, salsa w/ chips for appetizer. It was tasty but most chips were small as if from bottom of a bag or container. Ordered Med. Steak w/ribs side of rice and carrots. Wife ordered Med. Steak with shrimp, rice and carrots. Both steaks were well done. Not a hint of red when cut. Ribs were dry. Shrimp were very salty and only served four of them. Side portions are small. Maybe they had a bad cook today but steaks were over done, ribs dry, shrimp salty. The wait staff was great. The croissants were a little oily but good. We went early evening Saturday. We ordered drinks and then I opened my napkin roll up to find the silver ware was super dirty. I can handle a dirty fork. My husband then proceeded to open his and his silver ware was also filthy. The other two roll ups at the table also contained dirty silverware. When I say dirty, I don't mean like a little water spot. I'm talking huge chunks of food/ cheese/ sauce stuck to each fork. We informed the server of the issue and left. The building and atmosphere are nice but that is the only positive thing I can say about this place. The food and service are mediocre. The best thing are the croissants they give you when you sit down but if you want more be prepared to pay for them. The food was processed and tasted like frozen food. My hamburger looked like processed meat and had a grey tinge. My husband's chicken was over cooked. The barbecue hamburger my son ordered was soggy and greasy. Family told us about Cheddars, I thought we would give it a try... Marcel was the server, fantastic server, definitely a rising star. What a great personality and very informative. He made great suggestion's, I had the Key west Chicken & Shrimp with broccoli casserole and house salad as sides, my husband had the Fried chicken and mashed potatoes and green beans as sides. The food was cooked perfectly, tasty. Marcel brought us our drinks along with these croissants that were amazing. The restaurant is modern and cozy, service was quick! From a vegetarian point of view this restaurant won't offer much. I find it quite difficult to believe that now a days vegetarian options outside of salad are so hard to find. Your choices here are grilled cheese on the kids menu and the vegetable place with a few of the side choices not vegetarian at all. For everyone else consider this a notch up from Applebees. Service was fine and they do offer their croissants free which is a great way to start any meal. The cheesecake was great. My parents both had the buttermilk chicken sandwich and one stated that the meat was not marinated. We had a few service glicthces which may be due to the restaurant being new at this location. You shouldn't walk out of here unhappy but I'm not sure how thrilled you will be. Bar area as well as the rest of the restaurant was very clean and they are following covid protocol. Plenty of parking and reasonable prices make this a good stop for comfor food. By the way if you have Darden group gift cards, they will be accepted here. read more

Well to start I've been here 4 times. Each time I've had a great experience with the Waitress/Waiter. I've never been during a busy day, so I don't know how service is on those days. I haven't explored much of the menu. I've gotten the same thing each time. Which the food has been overall good, nothing outstanding but still good. Especially the croissant they give you in the beginning, they are amazing!!! Just wish they'd give you more than 1per Customer. Overall I recommend you check it out. read more

Today is Valentine's Day 2021. My boyfriend and I decided to go try this new restaurant we saw while driving in west Kendall. We went to have our 2021 Valentine's Lunch. Everything was perfect. We requested to have a person waiter rather than do the self order machine . We had Marcel he has the best friendliest personality and his service was excellent . We will definitely ask for him on our future visits. Now about The food and drinks Delicious, Where do I stArt; we first orders Wisconsin cheddar cheese bites along with the 2 Croissants absolutely delicious. I had the Island Tiki drink and my boyfriend had the painkiller drink both are soooo good. Fir our main meal we both ordered the homemade chicken pot pie. It tasted great, it was so fresh and hearty with a lot of chicken and the vegetables are just perfectly made, for my side I had the broccoli casserole the best I ever tasted definitely will be craving it. My boyfriend had the house salad with honey mustard dressing yum, Dessert was 2 more drinks both being the painkiller. Every table has a big jug of Sanitizer on it. Ordered to go. Good was fresh and their Croissants are delicious. I wasn't a big fan of the Buffalo sauce they use on their tenders. The burger is frozen meat but still good. If you want a good burger though, this would be my last choice. It took a little long to receive our food outside but I would give it another try. read more

I'm literally sitting at the dinner table as I'm writing this review. I've been to other cheddars and I must say this is the worst one I've ever been to. We got here and ordered drinks and an appetizer, it took about a good 15 minutes to just get our drinks. The drinks ended up being diet drinks which we did not ask for and when asked if we can have the correct drinks, he says it will take about 20 minutes so we just asked for water. 30 minutes in and my kids got their food and we're still waiting for our appetizer. Server keeps apologizing but there's nothing being done. Kids have now been eating for about 15 minutes and we're still waiting on our appetizer and food. No manager has come up to apologize for the wait or the service. Absolutely horrible experience at this location, I will not be back here. read more

Worst Cheddars ever! We tried a second time knowing they had newly opened and things don't always run smoothly on Grand Openings. Our second visit was for car pickup. Easy order 3 pot pies and two beverages. I ordered at 6:30 p.m. online. Timed for 7:20p.m for pickup. I checked in at 7:15...I mean how long can it possibly take to bake 3 pot pies? 7:30 comes around and they tell me the 3rd pot pie is still not ready. I wonder if the oven is so small they bake them one at a time? Finally at 7:40 the server comes out with the pot pies. I said to the server, if the other two pies are going to be cold since they were baked separately. "Oh no, they were on the heated pickup window...." Needless to say the pies, if you can call them that, were cold. They were cold, salty mush with the consistency of baby food. No chicken, all peas and cream of chicken soup. The employees are all the same age out of high school with no work experience. That's not a bad thing. They have no leadership though in the food business. Poor management. Their "scratch kitchen" is made up frozen dinners. Don't waste your hard earned money here. The worst $43.00 I ever spent. Let's hope Walk-ons will bring something to Kendall! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Awful experience!! They have only been open for 3 weeks but our overall experience was not good nor would I ever come back. I went to the new "Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen" last night (Thursday) with my mom & partner. My mother suggested this place because she had been to the location in Orlando & loved it, & was excited that one opened in West Kendall. She already knew what she wanted before even sitting down. Unfortunately for whatever reason they didn't even have their famous onion rings on the menu or the chicken fajita soup that my mom was looking forward to having again. So that was the first downfall to the evening. Our server was really nice but very slow. It took about 15 min just to get our drinks. I am a vegetarian & unfortunately there are not many appetizing meals on their menu for us vegetarians. But there was a simple grilled cheese in the kids section that I was attempting to get with a side of fries & a side salad. We were informed that they could not make me a grilled cheese because it is for children. The manager then came over & said they can make me a "burger" but substitute it as grilled cheese, which honestly just didn't make any sense. The children's grilled cheese was about $6, the burger was about $12. When they brought out all of our food my grilled cheese was literally so pathetic. Cheese was not melted, bread was cold. When I called over the server to inform him that this was just not right & I showed him the sandwich he immediately apologized & said he would have them make me another. Well that was a huge downfall because 20 minutes go by & I still didn't receive my side salad or new grilled cheese. We all know it takes like 4 min to make a grilled cheese & it's very easy to make. When my new grilled cheese arrived (20 min later) it literally looked just like the previous one that was bad. They asked me if I needed something else and I said "where are the fries?" In which the runner replied, "you have fries!!" Umm excuse me, it comes with the sandwich & id like new fries with it. After a back & forth I just gave up & told them to take the whole meal off of our bill. By that time my mom & partner had finished their meals way before & I was so aggravated. If you can't make a simple grilled cheese, not with anything complicated then why even have it on your menu!! They did take it off our bill, but the whole experience was just not worth it. This was our first visit to cheddars in SFL and it was exceptional. We read some reviews and we saw some negative ones (which i believe were fake) we decided to try them anyways. We had no idea we had one down here so when we found this one we had to visit. The restaurant was clean and we were seated immediately. Their signature croissants were warm when they got to us. Our waiter was amazing and really was on top of everything. We weren't sure about appetizers so the waiter suggested the sampler to get a little of everything. The appetizers were hot and delicious. I had the baja chicken, my kids had the ribs and shrimp and the number 8 meal chicken fingers. Everything was delicious, fresh and hot when it got to the table. My husband ordered the texas tea and i ordered the painkiller, i mean that drink was huge and delicious with a small price tag. We will definitely be coming back. Very disappointing. We've ordered curb side a few times in the past. The first time was delicious. The second time we noticed a few items missing from our order but didn't care to make a compaint. Tonight, for mother's day was a disaster. We waited an extra 30 minutes from the point at which we were told to pick up the food. This was outrageous. We requested the manager and he was helpful. He offered us a soda and some croissants for the wait which was very nice of him. We finally got home with the meals for 5 people and unfortunately we were extremely dissatisfied. The 3 racks of ribs were so tough we were unable to eat them. My wife's chicken Alfredo was cold to the touch, the French fries were cold, hard and stale. Unfortunately mother's day (or any day) dinner was not up to our usual standards. I suggest you think twice before visiting Cheddar's. A total waste of about $80. read more

So glad to finally have a Cheddar's down south. I wish they would build one in Homestead, but at least Krome Ave is much safer now so getting to Kendall isn't that bad. Plus Cheddars is worth it. They just opened and you can tell they are working out the kinks of a new business- but everyone there made an effort to keep things running as smoothly as possible. It seemed like they hired a lot of first time servers as those that have worked in the industry would have had better timing - but I'm sure they will get there. I've eaten at Cheddars from Tennessee to Ft Myers and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu - but I always have the chicken pot pie!! Have been here twice, the food was good both times, they claim everything is made from scratch, and it seems to be. The chicken pot pie is as advertised, very good and certainly made from scratch. The second time there we took our daughter's family. The grandkids enjoyed the restaurant as well. It needs to be more structured when entering, people waiting everywhere for a table, with no thoughts about social distancing. The staff has been very accommodating and helpful on both visits. I realize the restaurant just opened and there are many young employees, but I haven't encountered anyone Uneducated or rude. I gave it 3 stars because usually it is good and the food was good BUT the service not so good. We spent half of our meal with no drinks. We asked the server for refills and nothing. When she finally checks in because I had clicked the "call server" on the table device she says ok and then turns around proceeds to take the order from 2 other tables. No apology, no urgency to make it right. Then another employee comes to check on us because she can see me looking around and still no drinks. Then finally the manager comes over because I'm still looking around and our device is red meaning we need something. Then and only then did we FINALLY get our refills. Totally unacceptable. Ordered online for take out. The site was easy enough to use and track the order. I got a text when the food was being prepped for pick-up which gave me enough time to head to the restaurant. Their curbside pick-up area has a number to call or you can use the site when you get there but someone saw me pull up and promptly brought my order out. The food here is amazing. Even in take-out, the dishes were as if they came straight out of the kitchen. The servings are plentiful and every menu option we've tried so far tastes so frickin' good.
