My wife and I enjoy coming to the muffin tin on a weekend morning, the atmosphere is chill and the servers are always very kind. Usually the food is good! This time around I got the bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel sandwich which was ok, a little plain. My wife got an omelette with grits which was also just ok and our muffin came out looking a little destroyed, but still tasty. Looking for a new place to eat breakfast, we stopped at The Muffin Tin restaurant. Small cozy place right across Roaster's n Toaster's. Breakfast selection is good, a little pricey for the food you get. I ordered an omelette with provolone cheese which comes with your choice of hash brown or home fried and a side of toast. Apparently is a popular place with the local Pinecrest residents and some patrons were greeted by their name which is cool. Good service and fast checkout. read more

Came out to breakfast to a long time favorite. Ashley was our server. Great young lady. She suggested some great items and we took her advice. Ordered the "fancy" waffle and the California Benedict. The food came out quickly. The California Benedict was flavorful and the avocado were fresh. The waffle was nicely prepared and the strawberries were fresh and juicy. SHAME ON THE MUFFIN TIN! ```````````````I am a 74 year old that has recently had a lower leg amputation, and I require a service dog for mobility, support and balance. One weekday last week we went for a late breakfast on the Muffin Tin (as we have for many years) and as we entered this tall man who identified himself as the owner asked us not to enter, but to dine only at the outside tables. (It was high 80's and humid). He stated that our clearly vested service dog was not welcome as it might disturb his other customers. We explained his obligations under the ADA requiring equal treatment for a (obviously) disabled person. He said he didn't care and asked us to leave his premises. He was intransigent! During the pandemic we tried our best to support small businesses in our Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay communities. We continue supporting local businesses from our Old Cutler Cleaners to the local UPS franchise store. We salute these restaurants located in that same shopping center: Saffron, Anacapri, Sea Siam and Roasters and Toasters - each who have all welcomed us into their restaurants without an objection - and often offering our service dog a bowl of water. SHAME ON THE MUFFIN TIN. I ask that my friends and neighbors find an alternative breakfast/lunch nook in the future. Let this closed minded , short-sighted business owner know there may be a price to pay for disrespect of the disabled in our community. Observationally his customer base appears to consist of many people who are my contemporaries. The best way to describe this place is that little diner your grandparents would take you to in the 80's. It was a total blast from the past for me, but unfortunately, not in a good way. The tables are tighly packed & the food was just okay. Everyone I was with got traditional breakfast items but nobody was impressed with exception to a muffin. A lot of the leftovers got left behind. My biscuits & gravy were very salty & it was the first time I had ever seen actual full sized sausage patties larger than the biscuits mixed in under the sauce. The way this dish was prepared was far from what I am used to where the biscuits are large, fluffy, & the chopped up bits of sausage are mixed into a gray/white gravy. This sauce was very dark & not really pleasing to the eye or my palate. If anything, the muffins looked ok so maybe just stick to those. Pretty standard breakfast joint that serve a delicious muffin and any standard breakfast you can come up with. We ate inside and appreciate how Covid Conscious the restaurant was. Spaced tables, sanitizer on every table, and staff wearing masks (properly!). The price point is a little high for a casual breakfast, but you are in Pinecrest during a pandemic so you have to make some concessions here. Walked right in on Sunday at 11:00. No wait so that was a plus. Server came promptly to our table and took our order. We did not have to wait not even a minute. There is a huge board on the wall with the daily specials which I tried very hard to read because I didn't have my glasses but the few items that I was able to read seemed delicious and sooo many that I was about to change my mind on my order a few times since every other menu item seemed better than what I had ordered. The food was great, from flavor to portions, we were not disappointed. The grilled muffins are definitely an interesting twist and we enjoyed it. Please try them. My fiancé ordered the Santa Fe Benny which is a version of the famous Egg Benedict that includes pulled pork and it was really delicious. I'm not fond of pulled pork but this one was very well made and I actually liked it. My breakfast consisted of 2 Eggs with a hamburger patty. Caution: Make sure you order the desire level of doneness that you really want because they do give you what you want unlike other places that you order well done and it comes back still red, not the case here. Contrary to what I had read from other reviewers service was very quick and handled very efficiently by Desiree, our server. They may have read the reviews and improved service or it may be that other reviewers were not lucky and we were, I don't know, but since this was our first time and everything was great we will give it another try and see if service shows a consistent improvement. My mom had to send back over easy eggs because of under cooked. The food isn't all that. It's just ok. My nephew had chicken fried steak and double portion of eggs, the eggs were ok. He advised chicken was ok. My sister wanted pancakes instead of toast but that's a 3 dollar charge for one pancake. My daughter order was okay as well she got western omelette. Yes, I'm one of the few who have NEVER been to The Muffin Tin. I've heard about it for years and how great the food was. My better half and I decided to stop in on one of our few kid-free weekday mornings. The place was empty, so we had our choice of the whole restaurant to sit. I chose the special of the Berry Pancakes, my BH chose the corned beef hash with two eggs and home fries. My server didn't know where the pancakes were located on the specials board, so I had to point it out to him. We waited quite a bit for our food. When it arrived, my Berry Pancakes were two average sized pancakes with a small scoop of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries on top. My BH's food was decent, but the home fries were on the burned side. We did not have any drinks, only water. I was a little shocked when we got the bill and I discovered that my measly two pancakes were $10! While the food was good, the service was just average. Not only was our server a little out of it, he was more concerned with a high maintenance "regular" at a table next to us and even brought their food out before ours, when we placed our order several minutes before them.
