This place was pretty good! I will say the only downfall is that you can't make a reservation. It's first come, first serve for seating. If you are with a big group, you have to wait a bit. We were a party of 12, the staff was very accommodating and managed to sit at 2 tables of 6 people side by side. The place is kinda small so not really ideal for larger groups. We still had a wonderful time. The food was all delicious from the appetizers to the entrees. I really enjoyed the gyozas, they were crunchy on the outside but so savory on the inside. The soup dumplings literally burst in your mouth. They were so yummy. The fried milk bun felt like I was eating a Thai donut, I expected something different but it was good. As an entree I enjoyed the Tonkatsu hot pot, presentation was 10/10. The broth tastes so good, I couldn't get enough, they use rice noodles for this dish specifically which I love. Everyone was great service wise, very kind and accommodating. The only thing I will say is that 2 dishes took longer than expected to arrive so some of the people in our party had to wait a bit longer to eat their food. I love the decor as the theme was just outstanding for One Piece fans. The service was over the top excellent. And the presentation was just superb. Perhaps my expectations were Inflated because the shear number of five star reviews but to me a five star review has to indicate that you are among the very best. For me, the taste of the food simply did not make it to that high a bar. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it very much. But there are a number of Ramen restaurants that I enjoy more. I should explain why. We got the Tonkotsu Ramen which is a pork broth just filled with ingredients. The portion was large enough for two. But I mean, protein included is the pork belly. Most of the pieces of pork belly were all fat and while I expect pork belly to be fatty the lack of any meat in it, made it in edible for me. We're right to come again. I would order an additional protein, but that does come at a significant cost. The fish cakes were standard and they were not many of them. It was one piece of corn. Egg is extra. And Katsu chicken is extra. I did not have these two but people at the adjacent table did and commented that they loved it. Again where I had to come back, I would add these. The overall broth taste was good, but where the ball was dropped with the broth was not that hot in temperature and sadly the Ramen noodles were stuck together in clumps. The latter issue was the major disappointment for me. Then they were the soup dumplings. I do have to give that one a while. They were delicious and memorable. I am happy. I ordered them even though the Ramen bowl was certainly enough food without them. So yes, I enjoyed the meal very much, but simply not enough for me to bypass the Ramen restaurants closer to me to drive over there. Except that I absolutely loved the soup dumplings and I'm wondering if some of the other things on the menu would have won me over. If they are up to that standard, they indeed would have. So perhaps I'll give it another try when I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Stumbled upon this hole in the wall and my kid had an awesome rainbow boba tea, we shared soup dumplings with a broth that burst out tasting very aromatic and gingery, shrimp dumplings that were soft and perfect, and I had a Korean kimchee ramen that I ate before u could get a photo of it. An ode to One Piece cafe/restaurant in Pinecrest. If you're a fan of One Piece, I'd definitely recommend stopping by this spot, especially if you're in the area. I came here after a day out with my family and we are all rarely in the area, so we decided to try it out. A few of us are One Piece fans, and even if you're not, this place is such a cute restaurant. I am not usually a fan of cafes or restaurants that are based off of shows or anime since it seems like a gimmick and the food usually isn't too good. This spot changed my mind. I wouldn't say it's my most favorite food but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The decor inside is beautiful and you might spend your time here admiring the artwork on the wall or all the One Piece memorabilia. The menu had a great variety and we had a hard time choosing what to get. I ended up getting the hot pot because I saw the table next to us get it and it looked too good to pass on. Even if we just spent a hot day outside, the hot pot hit the spot. We also got the Fatty Cow over Rice which is basically gyudon (savory beef over rice, toppiced with mirin soy sauce, and sesame). This dish was super saucy (a bit too saucy for me) and came inside of a bowl that looked like Luffy's straw hat. I didn't love this dish the day of but the next day it was SO GOOD as leftovers. The sauce was soaked in the rice and gave it the best flavor. I loved my Japanese sukiyaki hot pot. Overall, the place was such a cute spot to check out and the food and service was great! read more

I visited a One Piece-themed restaurant in Pinecrest, near Miami called The Thousand Sunny. The decor is incredible--there are images of characters, wanted dead or Alive posters on the walls, and resin figures spread all over. The ceiling has circular video screens showing the sky, so it feels like being on a ship. At the entrance, there's a Sanji figure for photos, a podium with a pirate wheel, and a samurai figure too. Even though I am not a fan of the anime, I found the decor cute and charming. The "submarine potholes" on the ceiling makes it feel like you are on a magical underwater journey. The menu is mostly pan Asian, though a bit all over the place too with items like lomo saltado, burgers. For appetizers, definitely recommend the takoyaki and chicken wings. Calamari is tasty too, though be warned that they are not just rings, but whole little baby squids with head and tentacles... The hot pot is like a giant bowl of noodles with a lot of toppings, big enough to almost feed two. Totally satisfying especially on cooler days. The pork with the ramen is not just thin slices, but nice big cubes of pork belly that has been stewed to flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. If you prefer rice, there's also a variety of rice bowls, which is kinda a cross between bibimbap and pokebowl, where you can choose your protein, toppings and sauce. Maybe it was just a monday and the cook was having an off day, maybe they just weren't prepared for a full house. But the food was below subpar, I ordered the octopus fritters, they were frozen in the middle it was absolutely disgusting how does someone mess up a fried dish. I do not recommended the tonkotsu hotpot I'm the kinda guy who will eat anything and I mean anything, but not this, it was not properly seasoned, the texture of the pork was awful, there was barely any meat, tons of noodles that had zero flavor, not mention I didn't get the proper utensils to eat and it was pretty annoying. By the way a hotpot is supposed to stay hot for a good while with the heating stones under it. Mine came out of the kitchen lukewarm and was cold within 5 minutes. The Fatty over rice was okay, just would be nice if it was served hot. It's clear that the food was rushed and not prepared properly or with care. I absolutely loved this spot! I've been wanting to come here since me and my boyfriend are huge fans of one piece but the food and service will keep me coming back! Plenty of free parking, it's pretty casual and wasn't busy at all on a Sunday. The place is filled with one piece statues, stickers, merch and anime figurines all for sale. I love the decoration like you're inside the thousand sunny. We got the takoyaki, sweet and sour chicken, sukiyaki, lychee lemonade and fried doughnuts. I had tried takoyaki in Japan and it was a bit too mushy so I was willing to give it another try and this one was amazing!! Mushy on the inside but not raw mushy and solid on the outside. It was perfect and the sauce on top was delicious. The sweet and sour chicken was incredible. The sauce tasted really natural not too sweet like typical Chinese restaurants and the breading was very light on the chicken. It was also a huge portion for a great price. The sukiyaki was my favorite and I got to take some home! The broth was savory, sweet and it had sooo much udon and meat literally a mountain of toppings! Ask for chili oil on the side. I have to come back to get the short ribs but I was in a soup mood and it did not disappoint. One of my favorite places in Miami now for sure!! Had a great time at this unique theme restaurant. I came with my son for the theme of the restaurant as he likes those cartoons. It is a small, but very cozy restaurant and the atmosphere with the theme is A+. Now the food didn't disappointed. We started with the appetizer bun and they were savory. For main dish we had the ribs plate, good size and the meat had very good flavor. Would have like the ribs to be a little bit more thick. For dessert my son ordered some donuts which he loved.
