Went to have a family dinner Friday night with my husbands' family. Had great food & pretty good service. Next morning my uncle calls cheddars to see if they might have found his debt card, sure enough the Manager Fred had said they kept it from last night & will hold it until we come get. My uncle asked if we (my husband & I) could come grab it bc he was already out of town & Fred said "of course just have him bring his license for proof!" Got there & Fred came out even before they were open & handed my uncles' card to us! Overall great experience! read more

Service was great at the bar area, Cory J was great . The salad for lunch was very fresh and good. They delivered the salad to my table in les than 8 minutes. I Love Cheddar's - Ron C. From Keller Texas read more

Scratch cooking I beg to differ the sign of a horrible cook is one that puts sugar in green beans they were putrid! Not to mention I'm sure it was processed sugar which is worse than organic sugar. I grew up in the mountains sugar was for cakes and deserts and coffee not cooking veggies or even corn bread and biscuits. The steamed broccoli was good read more

The restaurant smells like a mildewed basement. Bathrooms were rancid men's room smells like urine and there's used Toilet Paper on the floor it's the restaurant is absolutely disgusting makes you wonder how horrible the kitchen looks it's amazing this place is even open you would think they have standards but I guess not read more

I had the worst experience I have had in recent memory. My wife and I came in and were taken to a booth right away, as we walked through the restaurant we saw dirty floors littered with food and used napkins. The booth they led us to had food on the bench, I wiped it off with my hand before sitting down, the hostess said sorry about that. As people finished their meals and left the restaurant the bus girl would wipe the table off wiping the debris onto the seats and floor and leaving it. We ordered our meals and mine was brought before the drinks, my wife's food was not brought out until I was halfway done eating after the waitress walked by and said "you still haven't gotten your food?" At one point a corner booth was bussed and thick liquid that looked like gravy was spilled from the table to the kitchen. It was left uncleaned for at least 20 minutes, finally after an elderly lady stepped in it and almost slipped, I had had enough. I got up went to the front and got the manager who apologized and got a mop bucket to clean it himself. My wife did not eat her food because it was served cold, but more than anything had lost her appetite because of the condition of the restaurant. I may never eat at another Cheddar's ever again. There is a very serious management problem at this location. read more

Horrible service and food was not cooked thoroughly!!!! We went to eat there it was my first time back in 13 years because of a had experience before. There was 4 of us in our party and we order the croissants for one of the appetizers and the were not even cooked all the way they were still dough in the middle. My pot pie was also not cooked completely the dough was still raw 2 of the members of our parties food was cold once it arrived. Our waiter was not observant at all we had to ask for refills more than 3 times per person and some never even got the refill. We will not be going back and if i were you i wouldn't even waste my time or money there. read more

Me and my fiancée came in one evening and were sat in the bar area, probably around 10pm and were taken care of pretty fine up until the food came out, my buffalo wrapper had honey hot on it instead of buffalo sauce, my fiancée's salmon was raw in the center, as fellow service industry workers we understand that these things happen, the service manager Jamie talked to us, told us that he would see that our food was prepared correctly and as soon as possible, ok, about 15 minutes later we received a very raw salmon and an incorrectly made buffalo wrapper ( I eat mine grilled with no cheese, and it came out fried with cheese), fairly disappointed In The quality of food being so poor with the manager overseeing its preparation, we just sent the food back and said we didn't want anything else, wasted an hour of our time. read more

All around a solid place to go if you're in from out of town and looking for a quick meal and a good bar. They are in the parking lot with several hotels, which is kind of their M.O., but they have a nice bar area (little small) with several tvs and plenty of sports on. The happy hour is solid as well and the good is on par with what you should expect at this type of establishment. read more

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - The bar. - American Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

Before I write this, I'm going to acknowledge that this is mother's day. With that said we arrived at 1:30 pm and was told there would be a 30-45 min. While the staff and manager we're considerate our food finally made it to the table 2 HOURS later! The food was good. We did have an identical experience on a non-holiday a few weeks earlier. There has to be serious management issues here because they never were this sub-par in the past. read more

Very good food for 4 of us. Ordered chips and queso, a chicken wrap, a lunch combo with the Monte Cristina and tortilla soup, Cajun Pasta with salad, 1/2 club sandwich with baked potato. Queso was good and chips fresh. Hot sauce was not very flavorful or spicy . Food came out after a decent amount of time. Sandwiches came out on opposite plates with their side items and what was supposed to be a baked potato was potato soup. Pasta came but no salad or garlic toast. All was quickly remedied and food was great. Server was new, but did check on us often. Carpet around us needed some vacuuming but it was the lunch hour. Would definitely come back though. read more

This was one of the worst dining experiences ever! It statrted out good with crescent rolls being sent to the table and went downhill from there! We ordered drinks and an appetizer and then ordered our food. They forgot our appetizer, brought dinner out. Salmon was raw, steak was horribly tough, and baked potato was hard as a rock. Sent salmon back and it got put in the microwave. It came back out and had a black hair on the plate. At that point we decided to pay our bill and leave. Talked to manager on duty and she rolled her eyes at us. I never want a free meal and did not complain to get one, but it is obvious when all the meals are left uneaten that they have a problem. Don't know if we will ever go back here! I gave them one star because you can't go lower and at least the crescent rolls were good! read more

Food was terrible, the restaurant spelled horribly. The waiter was so drunk and high that it took him 45 minutes to get a side of jalapeños. Tried the salmon and it tasted like it was coated in salt. Will literally never go back to this disgusting place. read more

My favorite is the ribeye steak with a house salad and loaded baked potato. Oh yeah I love the painkiller drink.

After the hostess sat me I waited 15 minutes for any sort of acknowledgement, then I got zero apology for waiting. The bartender/server (male) was extremely rude the entire time. If you want great service this isn't the place. Food was ok but not worth dealing with awful service. They need a refresher on how to treat their paying customers. read more

Unbussed patio tables, trash on the floor, dirty rugs, dirty men's room with no towels, muddy-looking ice tea that tasted awful, food haphazardly prepared....we'll skip this one the next trip through Lubbock. read more

They did not bring the appetizers out. The baked potatoe was cold. Salad came out when the entree came out. The beer was good and so was the Hendricks although we had to ask. Had to ask for drinks twice never got the A1. The price was reasonable. read more

This is usually my go to place to eat lunch and dinner with family and friends! On my Birthday June 9th 2018, I went in to have lunch with My family. We were seated immediately and then not talked to again after that. We waited for around 20 minutes before I told my family this is ridiculous and we are leaving, no one had even came to get our drink order and the restaurant was almost empty. As we walk past the hostess table we see around 4-5 waiters standing around not doing anything. We told them we were leaving and they had nothing to say. I called and spoke to the assistant manager who told me he was sorry about the situation and would have the GM follow up with me. That never happened. I have not been back and don't plan on it. read more

Our waiter, Michael, was wonderful and our food was great. But the hostess with the sunflower face mask really needs to be fired or given some more training. We had 6 people and a high chair and was told we can't sit together because it's 7 people when a few months ago I had a group of 16 and was sat just fine. We said it was fine and she put us where there was literally a wall between us after I saw several tables that would seat us all. She had horrible customer service skills and a seriously bad attitude. I've managed a restaurant for about 2 years and if one of my girls did that, she'd be gone that same day. Definitely will not be coming back and I'll tell everyone I know that if they want to bring a party and sit together they should go elsewhere. read more

This review is multifaceted... .the food was good and our server was great, however, the kitchen was unable to read the orders right and my order was incorrect and had to be sent back. Bythe time my food was ready, everyone had pretty much finished theot lunch. So, my main complaint was the kitchen's inablity to read. read more

Cheddars has horrible service. When you try to call they never answer. Poor management and employees service

Flies, not clean water glasses, slow for lunch food... Incredibly gross smelling bathrooms. Not kidding.

Lets start with a bad glass of wine, it happens and it was replaced. Then a small cockroach in my bourbon! New glass, new bottle of bourbon, still bug parts in the drink. I suggested to the bar tender that he might need to replace the ice. Nothing... the bar tender just did not care. I do think the food is good and priced right but to have a bar tender that does not care.... I am done. We did not get a visit from a manager, we did not get the feeling anything was being done to fix the problem. I sent a note to Cheddar's about my experience, they do not seem to care either. read more

Very poor expeeience. Food was poorly prepared which was surprising since I have always enjoyed eating here. This location was a huge disappointment! read more

Great food and they usually are spot on with the portions. My only complaint is the service is a little on the slow side. Also, be prepared to freeze--as they keep the restaurant AC and fans on full blast! read more

YUK!!! Need I say more? Let me begin by saying the service sucked!! Tip to our waitress, if you forget what kind of drink you are serving DONT SMELL MY DRINK LIKE A PIG!! PLUS she was sick! The food sucked, im pretty sure some 16yr old high school student prepared our meal and didn't give one shit about quality OR quantity. So my advice to you is if you want to spend high dollar for crappy food and a crappy waitress you should head on to CHEDDAR'S! This place wasn't even worth the 1 star I gave. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Served us undercooked chicken, and didn't exactly have a reassuring answer as to why the slip up was made. Offered to make us another one...Um, no thanks! Also they charge $0.30 to add shredded cheese to stuff. I admit, going to Cheddar's I don't expect a fine dining experience, but do expect more than unsafe food safety practices. read more

Waited 30 minutes for drinks manager was informed still no response then salads were brought and dropped on customer while server continued to laugh We will never go back read more

I got the worst food poisoning there I've ever had. It was 2 months ago. I was totally sick for 3 days. Went to the doctor and they comfirmed it. I had to get medication and the whole nine yards. Nice aquarium though. Every time I hear the word cheddar I get nauseous now! Do Not Eat There!!!!!!!!!! read more

I live in Lubbock, but never been to Cheddars before. A friend of mine however loves their grilled chicken salad and so wanting to surprise her I ordered 3 of these salads to go, which by the way are not cheap. The bill came to $25 and change. So I wrote at bottom of bill a $5 tip for the young, blue-eyed waiter with glasses at the bar. Besides bagging the salads for me, he did nothing else. So I figured 20% gratuity should be more than generous. This happened 2 days ago, and this morning I am checking my bank account and noticed that my whole charge was $32 NOT $30 and change. Someone altered the bill to show $7 gratuity instead of $5. I called and talked to the manager, a guy. He apologized for what happened and that was that. Never once did he asked me any questions about the transaction whatsoever. I guess to them having a customer pay more for a not intended tip is banal. Never going there again, you should not either. read more

I could've easily gave 5 stars if it wasn't for the hostess in the front. Her and a young man were talking when we walked in and didn't even acknowledge us until 5 minutes later. So we were just standing there until she said how many people are seating. Very rude customer service. I'm glad our waiter was very attentive and nice! My husband and i both got the sirloin steaks with sautéed mushrooms on top and OMG it was super delicious! We asked for steak sauce but didn't even use it bc the steak was that delicious!!! read more

Wow what a joke. I moved to the area from Virgina and had the most friendly and outgoing bartenders at Cheddars there. So I figured that would be the same case at this Cheddars location. Boy was I wrong.... As me and my significant other sat down at the bar for drinks and dinner we were ignored by the bartender for at least 5 minutes while he argued with servers. After this unreasonable wait the bartender on shift July 20th 2016 asked us " What can I get for y'all?" So we asked for a food menu and the bartender slammed a cup on the table and tossed menus at us. We asked "I am sorry sir would you like us to sit elsewhere?" and he replied with "No I am busy you will have to wait." I do not know how whoever is reading this review feels about someone snapping back at you because they have to work. But it is absolutely unacceptable and I will no longer provide ANY Cheddars my business until this problem is resolved. This bartender had the worst attitude imaginable and does not need to represent the Cheddars corporation! read more

Ordered the fish and shrimp for lunch today, service was good ,food looked good bit into fish and it was raw Yuck! Manager apologized took it off our bill asked if there was any way he could compensate me ,told him a cup of coffee with lots of cream would be nice,he came out with my cup of coffee but said there was no cream in the resturant ,the truck never showed up.He was very embarrassed and apologized once again.I don't think that we will go back read more

We went to cheddars this evening and the service was horrible. Our waitress spoke to us once to take our order, and we didn't see her again until 5 or so minutes after our food was finally brought out. My plate was missing an item, carrots, and the salad that came with my meal wasn't brought to us until we were able to ask for it. Salad finally arrived after I finished my meal, and the waitress said the kitchen was out of carrots. She said she'd bring me a menu to pick out a different side. A while later she brings carrots that have magically appeared (which is nice-ish), but they aren't glazed or sweetened at all like the side normally is. At this point we've eaten all of the rest of the food. We hadn't received refills until we got the check essentially, thankfully the refills were put in to-go cups. She also brought us a to-go box for the salad, and never actually apologized. read more

Good food and friendly service. Our server did an excellent job at managing the food and our time. He was attentive, but not in the way. The ribs were a little dry, but overall the food was very good. read more

I think they have amazing chicken tenders. I order the appetizer size, which is more than enough for one person and cheaper. I also think their ribs are very good. Sometimes they have to much sauce, so I ask for it on the side but, very good. Asian salad is also great. This place has a lot of different types of food, so it's easy to please everyone. Service is good and waiters are friendly. Also $4.00 huge margaritas is a plus. read more

Excellent service. The chicken fried chicken is fantastic. Also the croissant are wonderful. Highly recommended Cheddars in Lubbock.
