Stopped in to CP on our way home and had an excellent dinner. We each had Chicken Fried Chicken that was perfectly cooked. Mine came with real mashed potatoes and a cream gravy which were excellent. The cold salad was very good with tomato, peppers and onion. The ranch and honey mustard dressings tasted fresh and home made as well. My friend had the sweet potato with marshmallow and brown sugar and he said it was excellent. We decided to share a blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The blackberries were perfectly cooked. The food I ordered was not correct. This restaurant hides behind the delivery service and make no effort to make things right. There is no way to correct the order and no one to speak to about the order. It is truly a disappointing experience. read more

I went with my significant other when we stepped inside the building the employee looked as if he hated his job we called and placed an order we asked if we can sit and eat it instead and he said yes and asked if we were gonna eat it their we said yes and he attempted to sit us at a 4 chair table I insisted we sat at a booth he then rolled his eyes, then sat us at the table asked if we wanted rolls we said yes and asked for cinnamon butter, the employee didn't even acknowledge the question, then brought our drinks and rolls then the order took 25-30 minutes and the order was brought in a bag after we asked him if we can sit and eat it instead. My husband and I ate here on Thursday. I had fish and he had chicken and dumplings. One of his sides was the cinnamon apples. thet were delicious. They let me have the Texas caviar as a side. It was so fresh. The fish was very good. I didn't have but one roll. I could have eaten all of them. Bailey was our waitress. They need to hold on to her. We have never had a better waitress anywhere. The price was very good and the portions were ample. I forget about this place, but we will remember from now on. We stopped off in Lubbock for the night on way to Santa Fe. This restaurant had a buy one get one free offering. We decided to get the country fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Very tasty! I expected a Cracker Barrel quality of food. It was so much better. read more

Horrible service and horrible food! The waitresses were very rude and lacked politeness. The tables and chairs were obviously not cleaned in a while because they were dirty and sticky. The food was no better then some fast food slop and it was way over priced. read more

I've never been a fan of this location other than the excellent takeout service. The food is average at best, but I finally found a few items I like: steak fingers with fries, and the rolls are amazing with the honey butter. read more

Everything I've had (pics) is delicious. The rolls are hit & miss, as in they're not always available, but awesome. Definitely comfort food. Lou is the best server! I always ask if he's available. Very attentive and polite. I have never seen a member of management in the place and other than Lou, the other staff members have been rude and inattentive. Please tip Lou well, he's very deserving. read more

Visited Cotton Patch on Friday night - it was busy but not enough to create a long wait. The atmosphere was fun, the waiter made sure our drinks never ran dry, and I can recommend several good appetizers. The chicken fried bacon is salty and sweet, the cornbread is warm and buttery, the fried pickles have a crispy batter and no spice, but the very best is the golden mushrooms. We will be back to try more of the menu at Cotton Patch soon. read more

First off our server Keira was great! She was very attentive and very nice/polite to my children. Now the food .... 3/10 . The only saving grace in our meal was the decent burger that was extremely small for the price. The kids pasta is a joke, and the queso was watery with no cheese flavor. My wife and I decided to give Cotton Patch another chance after 12 years. They did not disappoint. There was a small hiccup in the kitchen with my order. Tracey the general manager was outstanding and professional. To see someone in his position to walk the floor and talk to the patrons gives that home town feel. My wife had a burger and fries and she stated it was very well seasoned and juicy. I had the meat loaf and was not disappointed. The meat was well seasoned the right amount of bell pepper and onion. The meat was not over worked when it was being prepared so it stayed moist and not dense. Thank you Tracey, to you and your team for what you are doing. Oh and if you light fried green tomatoes they are perfectly fried with a crispy batter. We have a new go to when we can't find time to cook. Home cooking away from home. read more

Food was delicious as usually and the service was outstanding. The ambiance is relaxed and friendly. This the second time eating here since we no longer go to Cracker Barrel. Try the chicken fried chicken with mash potatoes and green beans. The pork chop was also delicious. Great food and great prices. They also honor veterans with a discount. Cotton Patch Cafe 6810 Slide Rd, Lubbock, TX 79424 Eat here apprx twice week. Several days ago the Turkey and Drsg was unedible. It was hard unable to cut or chew and had a foul taste. Had to beg for rolls and the squash was uncooked and hard. A piece of the squash was a 3 inch solid hard piece. I left the server $10 tip. He was the best part of the visit. I even wrote a note on the ticket to thank him. Today, Arrived at 310pm. Six cars in parking lot. Went to restroom to wash hands and sat at bar. I was totally ignored by manager and servers. They were congregated together talking. At least 7 workers saw me and did not speak to me. A girl was STANDING at the end of the bar with her head resting on her arm. I asked if I could eat at the bar in attempt to get service. She said...oh no one's waited on you, I said no, then she went to tell someone to wait on me. Another 5 minutes go by. Guy shows up with a full tray of food and asks what I want to drink and leaves. Another 5 min go by. I've picked up a menu and silverware from a stack at the bar. By 326, I'm angry and asked to speak to the Mgr. Takes her another 4 min to come out from the back.I explained SITUATION. NO APOLOGY!! from Keirstin. I left and got in my car and attempted to call the restaurant 3 times to place to go order. Called 3 times, phone rang several minutes until the call automatically hung up. Our Food (chicken strips, fish strips) was either over cooked or undercooked. I ordered chicken and dumplings and got maybe three dumplings in the whole bowl. I was looking forward to checking this place out, newly moved here from New Orleans. However walked in and stood at the front for over a minute without so much of a hello or anything from one of the 4 workers who looked up and ignored us while chatting about 8 feet away. Mind you it was not busy at all either. Being ignored after they looked up and saw us, completely turned me away from even trying the food. Walked out, went to a place that greeted me and sat us when we walked in. I would have accepted a "We will be with you in a second" or "even holding a finger up as in one minute" But to look at us and then ignore us to go back to their conversation. Big Nope from me. Food is OK, but not great. Very good rolls. Fresh broccoli was nicely steamed and neither under or over cooked. Mashed potatoes were fresh, but dry and crumbly. Prices are reasonable. My server was friendly, attentive, responsive, and even proactive. However... Every waitress was wearing a face mask covering only their mouth with their noses exposed. I asked my server if she knew her nose was exposed. She said that she doesn't like covering her nose because it causes her glasses to fog up. Really? Why even wear a mask if you're not going to cover your nose? It does NOTHING to protect her or her guests. read more

So, this restaurant. My husband and I decided to go to dinner early so we could miss the rush. We get there just after 5pm on a Saturday night and told it would be a 10 minute wait due to the fact there are only 2 servers right now. Ok so we wait. When we do get to our booth cause yes we like a booth. We are greeted by the happiest most frustrated server. Her name was Sara. She was AWESOME! Give that girl a raise. She was running around with a broken shoe cause who has time or money to go get a new pair. She took our drink and appetizers order. We could see her running around helping her few other tables. All with a smile on her face. When our food did get to us it was the most delicious "chain" restaurant food I have ever had. There was actual flavor. The cook knew how to use salt, garlic and pepper. The serving size was just perfect I did have to take a little home with me. Just enough for a late evening snack. I will highly recommend Cotton Patch Cafe in Lubbock. I just say prepare to wait a little it will be worth it. And if you see Sara tell her hi and tip her well. She is a hard working girl. read more

Terrible. Cold food, overdone beef tips (they are prepared in advance so you have no choice on how you want them cooked) Pretty much no gravy which is a hallmark of beef tips. Hubs got like 5 french fries with his fish & chips, and they were pretty lifeless. Not going back. read more

I'm not the first to mention how expensive this place is for what you get but they are having '1980s prices' on some of the more popular menu items and that helps a bit. The service has gotten slower over time and the food quality hasn't improved. There seems to never be a wait which is about the only plus I see here. There is nothing outstanding on the menu but at the same time there isn't anything that is terrible... it's just there. I had a sub par dine in experience; I've had sub par dine out experiences; these guys can't even work well with DoorDash. Save yourself some trouble and skip Cotton Patch, Lubbock tonight. I called in for my order, something must be wrong with there phone I had to call them multiple times. Despite calling in the order ahead of time I still had to wait a good minutes for my food. After I receive my food I checked the bag and noticed the pie was missing. It took a bit of time for that too. The food was okay not as good as it used to, The portions are small, and not seasoned. Let me just list off the reasons for our unpleasant experience: Our bread was served to us in a salad bowl because he said the bread baskets were dirty. Understandable, not a major issue. Just trying to give the entire picture of our experience. No silverware to spread the butter that came with the bread. Asked the server several times for silverware but he said it was all dirty. My thirsty family of 5 finished our drinks pretty quickly after receiving them. Our server acknowledged that we all had empty drinks but said all their glasses were dirty therefore he couldn't refill our drinks. He actually came by our table a few times and acknowledged our drinks empty. Once was to tell us that he was sorry he's been absent but every time he goes in the back they make him roll silverware. What??!? When we received our food (still without drinks or silverware) we were missing two sides (one that we never got and the other salad that came after her main course). One meal was completely wrong. After sending back (my mistake, I should have just accepted what they gave me) I had to wait what felt like forever before getting a replacement. My family was done with their meal and my son actually fell asleep (he's 11 not 1). Despite the server coming by and assuring me that it only had 1.5 minutes left before it was done, it still took a good 10 minutes to come out. Server was very unconcerned about getting my food to me. My recommendations: train your staff and do not give them more tables than they can handle until they are ready. Hire more servers to go around. Manager should be going around to tables checking on people. As for the food, it was just okay. To sum this very long review up (I'm hoping someone in charge of this location reads this review) we did find a manager who did take care of our meal. Because of this I didn't want to leave a bad review. However, I think it should be known about the service. I don't think we were the only ones in the restaurant having this type of experience. I should have read the reviews before trying to order food from this place. Do not order food from here through Uber eats or door dash. They will wait 30 - 45 minutes (says they are prepping your order) and then refuse/cancel the order all together. This has happened to me 5 times While trying to order food from them.
