I don't quite understand the appeal of this restaurant. It's no better than the myriad of other breakfast chains in the country selling mediocre breakfast food at 3-4 times its worthy price. All the while I know I can make the same stuff at home and considerably less bland. Service here is hit or miss. And who can really blame them? I wouldn't want to ever work here. Py and tips are probably pathetic. The desire to work here shows even in their management, as apparently the manager just walked out on the employees on the day of my last visit. By the way, the menu is pretty basic. Your usual breakfast chain fare. Speaking of basic, they're attempting to tap into the brunch crowd by now offering mimosas and bloody marys. For my part, I will never crave or seek out this restaurant. I only go when I'm inevitably invited by family. Y'all want a better breakfast? I'll cook something up. read more

Good ole breakfast joint. This place happens to be my Brother and Dads regular weekly breakfast spot. The service was super friendly and efficient. The coffee was constantly topped off by Valeria who was sweet as can be. The plates are large and the food comes in large portions- none of us could finish all that food . Each of the different styles of eggs were cooked perfectly to each of our liking. This location seems new and very clean. I came to Jimmy's egg after several months. What an excellent breakfast I had. The cook did an amazing job and was an awesome surprise! I hope she's there for good!!! It just tasted so much better than the last time I was here. The eggs were perfectly cooked as were the hashed browns and the serving amount was great! Wow, this place is awesome! Quickly seated and looking at their menu, it took a bit to decide. In the meantime, their coffee (both hot and iced) were really good. My daughter and I both opted for the Biscuits Gone Wild. When the food arrived, we could not believe the size of the portions! Could have easily shared one order, but they just meant we could take some home for later! Amazing flavors, good gravy, eggs cooked well, and great service. Will be back for sure! read more

I has never eaten at one before and decided to give a go. It was decent for what it is but I was underwhelmed for sure. For starters, there was only one waitress working the front of house who was in charge of hostessing, bussing, taking orders, and taking payment. As someone who has working food service before, that is simply not possible to have just one person doing all of these things all by themselves. That being said service was a bit slow. The food was meh. Everything was edible but nothing was really great. The final straw for me was the coffee. When I go to a breakfast house I expect the coffee to be at least decent but this was terrible coffee. All in all I wouldn't pitch a fit if someone else wanted to eat there, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again. read more

Thought I would have a nice breakfast when I walked in. After looking at the menu, I was craving a western omelette with salsa. I specifically asked the waitress if they had salsa for the western omelette and she assured me they did. When the food arrived, without salsa, I asked for some and was immediately told they've been out all day. I was a little disappointed but figured I could push through. I decided to put some ketchup on my hash browns and start there. Nope, opened up the ketchup bottle and was sickened but what I saw. So I went for the Tabasco. Same disgusting sight. Made me wonder about how the back was taken care of. Needless to say, I'm now checking out and paying for a meal that I didn't eat. And now that I'm thinking about it. HEB is right across the street. Food is really good. Service isn't. The hostess sorta walked around a bit zombie like for 5 minutes looking for a table for us. There were plenty tables to choose from. Took too long to finally get a waitress and when we did, she had another table before us that she had to go wait on. Could've gotten our drink orders, but no. Then, it was another 10-15 before we actually ordered. Food was really good, no doubt, but how long does it take to fry some eggs? As I said, the food is really good. This was my first time at this place. It reminded me of a cross between IHOP and a Waffle House. The place was clean. The food was really plentiful and served hot. The cinnamon roll was a 3/5 but the picture makes it look like it'd taste better. The all the meats skillet I got was really good. I'd get it again. Same with the waffles my girlfriend ordered. The service was not really good, or at least not our server. We'd ask for stuff but it wouldn't show up, that's including the drinks which never got to the table. Other serving staff seemed really attentive we just got the best the server had to offer which wasn't nearly ok. So, we dropped stars on that. read more

Then the host comes and says it'll be a 5 minute wait. 15 minutes later someone came to point at the direction they wanted us to sit in. Didn't walk us over, just said "choose a table over there". Noemi was pretty rude... sort of threw the straws down, asked us what we wanted to drink and rushed through that before she asked if we were ready to order... we said we weren't and the annoyed look on her face solidified my opinion of the service of this location... Was definitely in my top 5 breakfast places I've ever been. This one on 114th in Lubbock didn't disappoint in customer service, speed of delivery and quality of food. 10's all around. A MUST GO. Hanna is great. General Manager was quality as well. Keep it up guys!! read more

I really like breakfast and in general really like this place and am a frequent patron. This review is for the new place on 114th. So we arrive at 0800 get our wonderful coffee etc place our order and 41 minutes later it arrives. Yes it was cold, really cold, I counted 30 customers 4 wait staff and three cooks that I could see in the line. So why was our food cold? Well I will return perhaps it was just a bad day because I really like eating here. I do notice the other store is better so.... yep I'll probably be going there. So enough whining if you haven't tried the cinnamon roll your missing out! The cinnamonswirl pancakes omg!! I think they have exceptional bacon as well. The sausage patty is horrible I've tried it too many times thinking "maybe just maybe they will get it done well the one time they did it was still horrible so leave that alone. When they first opened they had a really good smoked link kinda like a breakfast hotdog and it was the bomb, then it went away, naturally if I like it they quit carrying it because obviously their not making a bajillion dollars a day with it. The menu is pretty extensive for a breakfast/lunch diner. The hash browns were perfect, crispy brown on the outside and steamy soft inside, perfect over medium egg and the biscuits are excellent. I love a biscuit that is crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. I liked the gravy, but it needs some sausage in the gravy to make it better on a biscuit. Today I went into this location even though I had a horrible experience yesterday at the Slide location. Well it wasn't much better. There wasn't anyone to seat you, just a sign which said seat yourself. Okay, no line. I sit down and the server was not that pleasant, but he did communicate with me. He seemed in a hurry for some reason. Got me coffee first, which was very nice. I noticed there were maybe two main servers for all the tables. I waited a little and placed my order foe a patty melt which the menu says is served on Rye Bread. When I got my order I noticed the rye looked like sourdough. I was like I am hungry so no big deal. I like sourdough. My fries were hot and the service person was very nice that brought my food. Ate my fries and took a bite of the patty melt which was on white bread. I usually do not complain to the staff because I don't like special surprises in my food. I ate and paid. After having been made to waited 45 minutes at Slide and this experience. I am totally done with Jimmy and his egg. Bad service and no one seems to care about standards. At least take 10 seconds and say, We only have white bread today for your patty melt. Give me the option to order my sandwich contrary to your specific menu. Not your staff saying, f it we only have this f the customer. Have some standards and think about your customers. read more

Food is pretty good but female servers are not so good. Had to beg for refills and they were not busy. It was breakfast on Tuesday May 4th. I asked for coffee and several minutes later and no refill, I turned around to find her and she was standing there eating and she was supposedly training a new server! They need someone that's good to train correctly. There's one male server and he is good. read more

This place is horrible. The wait time for food was 40 minutes which is ridiculous. The eggs was nasty the bacon looked like it was burnt. While I was there the cook kept coming up to the front and flirting with the waitresses instead of cooking And I know some one that used to work there who told me after I ate there that hardly any of them have their safe serve certifications. read more

This location is a much different experience than the one I had on slide and the loop. The staff is absolutely amazing. The bloody Mary is one of the best, and the food is good. Always a great experience, will keep going back. read more
