My family and I have eaten at this restaurant for many years, they are always welcoming, friendly and great service. We have even had our church group there and they loved it. Our waiter Shawn, Mallory, Alley, just to name a few are always happy to help us. The manager Fred is the best. They have great food and it is always hot and fresh unless it's my salad (lol) and we enjoy the wonderful service. read more

I have visited several Cheddars Scratch Kitchen locations in Texas. And this one is unfortunately the most disappointing. The quality issues with burnt croissants, and the rice is over cooked it's dry and hard. Our server's service was passable. While I enjoy visiting cheddar this location was a letdown. read more

This is a favorite lunch spot of my parents. They rave and rave about the quality and price. I came with my parents for an early dinner and were seated in the bar. The bartender was quite busy with serving the bar, making drinks for the restaurant, and with bar dining. He was very friendly, albeit, in a rush, and very accommodating when my mom sent one of her favorite meals here back. She was so excited to order the Chicken Pot Pie, but she took one bite and said it was "off." The server and manager did make every effort to make it right, but I just shared my food with her, because it was so much food. I had the Chicken Tenders with mashed potatoes and green beans. The tenders were breaded and cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were good, but the green beans had some sweetness added to them that I wasn't a fan of. (The bacon grease in the green beans was a lovely touch, though.) The bread that they serve is divine! It looks like a croissant, but has a dinner roll taste and consistency, with the most incredible whipped and flavored butter drizzled over. The salads that my parents added looked really great to me, and they couldn't finish and have room for the entrees. My dad loves to order the Fish and Shrimp Platter and this time, according to him, the portion was considerably smaller than usual of the Fish, but the taste was still on par. Fresh, crispy, and just right! As we were leaving the rush was beginning and there were quite a few people waiting to be seated and the restaurant was full. Great spot for a casual, affordable, and great meal. read more

Food is always excellent and the prices cannot be beat! Been eating at Cheddar's for many years!

Just want to thank management at Cheddars Lubbock for refusing to close, putting staff, my VETERAN, at risk during a TORNADO. He's worked there for several years and the managers there don't know wtf they're doing. If he's been HURT or KILLED, I would be talking to an ATTORNEY. Thanks for always putting $$$$$ first. read more

Large party and we were seated right away no wait...our server was right at the table and was awesome, got everyone's order quick and correct. The atmosphere was quaint and nice and the food was hot and tasty. The butter rolls were excellent...overall was a great time...highly recommend. read more

I haven't been to this location in maybe 10 years and I was wary of even coming in today due to the reviews on Yelp, but I'm pretty glad we ignored them. The host was very friendly when we arrived, the waitress was super attentive and polite. As busy as the place was we still received excellent service all around. As for the food, I was underwhelmed with the country fried steak. Something is off in the batter but the meat was as tender as could be. I don't know if there's sugar in the batter but the sweetness was not very appetizing. The steamed broccoli was delicious though. My son said "the burger isn't much to look at but it's one of the best". Wife and daughter loved their meals and I ate some of their chicken tenders. Very very good. So minus my unpleasant chicken fried steak thing, our first visit in quite a while was good. I think I'll try a burger next time I come in. And we will be back. Thanks to all the cheddars employees that did a great job today. read more

Asked for a steak medium rare. they brought us this we asked them to take it back and cook it a little more then the manager came and started arguing with us about what medium rare is. He was very rude and disrespectful and he still charged us full price for the meal even though we did not eat the raw steak. The other food was cold. it was not good. I feel very bad for our server cause she was very sweet and this was not her fault. read more

Food is always good. Our server, Eli was very attentive and had a smile on his face with every table he served. Kudos to this restaurant for having this fine young man. We ordered the Monte Christo. It never disappoints. We enjoyed our meal. read more

Service ok but the food is getting worse the last 2 times we have been it was disappointing. The meatloaf they serve is absolutely disgusting not sure it was even beef the texture was more like canned dog food. Chicken fried steak is more batter than meat. I do not know what has happened maybe a different manager we wont be back. read more

I will start out with the good . The service was good. Now for the bad. Anyone that cooks beef, chicken or pork knows that chicken and pork has to be cooked done. I ordered pork chops and they weren't cooked fully done. Another person at the table ordered pasta and sausage. The sausage was soured. They need a new cook. We could have gotten very sick from his mistakes. read more

Not sure what happened but this place has turned around. It's been years since I ate here last and vowed to never return. Nice atmosphere, really good food, and attentive service, all for a reasonable price, what more can you ask for? We ate delicious fried white fish but my favorite part was the crescent rolls. Service was very slow, even when there was no one really in the restaurant. The steak was order medium and come out very well done. Not how a steak should be. The pork chops were very dry and tough. Not how pork chops should be. And food took forever to come out for very simple order read more

What a shame that a restaurant known for its Mac&Cheese DOESNT CARRY MAC&cheese?? WTH??? Waiter said the haven't carried it in a year,! Yet it's still on the menu, the food we ordered was not good certainly not fresh, steak bites with carrots, steak mushy carrots room temperature at best, soggy probably had been reheated multiple times.the Cesar salad was stale and had a musty odor it. The water tasted as though the filter hadn't been changed in years, also had a very musty smell and taste. Service was mediocre, the waiter didn't seem to care about answering questions about the menu items, other than emphasizing that cheddars doesn't carry Mac and cheese and a couple other items on the menu. The ambience is run down and dinghy, looked like it isn't tended to regarding maintenance, the wood and booth benches are old run down, felt dirty and did the table we were sitting at. What a shame, there are plenty of restaurants in the area, we had been on the road all day, we were tired cold and hungry. We didn't anticipate this experience, we will not return. What a shame corporate from May franchised restaurants let the standards fall by the wayside.especially this one. read more

We eat at Cheddars several times a month and food is usually good. My wife and her friend ate there today , they ordered dips then the main course. Her friend ordered shrimp ,my wife ordered fish and chips. The shrimp came out fine , the fish and chips came our chicken and tartar sauce. They told the waiter who said that they would bring out the fish ,which did not happen. Thirty minutes later they still had not gotten the fish. They were given a box to put the untouched chicken ant tartar sauce in and the bill ,the manager was told again what had happened but did not make it right. I called the manager,My wife came home. This place was an absolute dump. The greeter was annoyed by our arrival for some reason we were two adults and my 12 year old daughter. The table given to us was so filthy with ketchup dried up on it and the bench seats were greasy and disgusting. The carpeted area what shrimp tails, straw liners, kids cups, dirty napkins. I asked the host to please wipe the table and seats for us, and boy did he throw a fit. We just walked out, because if that's what it looks like for customers to see you can all imagine the kitchen. Not a big for chain restaurants but this was in the parking lot of my hotel and didn't feel like driving tonight. Decided to sit at the bar and was surprised that it was empty at 5:15. I enjoyed a very delicious painkiller drink classically made with purser's rum, coconut, orange juice and some sprinkle of nutmeg. Nice touch to add the toasted coconut rim on the glass which had been dipped in Honey prior. Quite tasty! They do limits you to 2 though since they are pretty strong. I enjoyed a steak 8 oz top sirloin Med rare, some steamed broccoli, and a loaded baked potato. Everything was good although not outstanding but a good meal for the price. read more

Was staying at the Marriott Courtyard so was very convenient to walk to after a long day at work. Our server was new to the job and was very pleasant and attentive so service was on point. I normally do not like eating at chain restaurants when traveling but like I said it was very convenient. The buttery croissants are so damn delicious, worth the calories. Pot pie was just ok, crust was flakey but filling was a bit watery. read more

Love coming here. The parking lot has plenty of room, and the service is always great! I usually get their grilled chicken, its served on a bed of rice and I usually get it with the broccoli. The hostess is always good and seems to know her rotation very well. The food is always great quality and you get a lot for what you're paying. The staff is masked and they are practicing social distancing! It's quiet but still a good place to have a family dinner. They have great kids options as well. If you haven't been here I defiantly suggest you check it out! The service is always wonderful, and the food will not disappoint you or your kiddos! read more

I always have loved the Cheddars chain and this one did not disappoint. I'm here in Lubbock on business and found a Cheddars. I immediately bookmarked this location and headed here for a late lunch. My co worker suggested that we get these vodka ice teas and they were a big bit. The menu says that you are only allowed to drink 2! We order our main meals which I had the grilled catfish with broccoli casserole and mashed potatoes and my coworker had the fried shrimp and chicken tenders with red beans and Mac and cheese. It wasn't very crowded so our food came out quickly. It was delicious! And the drink had me feeling pretty good. The check came and it was @ $30 for both of our meals including the drink! Well we left pretty full and satisfied and little did I know we would return today. We had another event to attend and after getting watered down drinks there we returned later tonite to have 2 more ice teas and that meant we had a total of 3 today!! This will be my go to drink from now on whenever I visit a Cheddars. Thankfully we made it back to our hotel room only 4 miles away, with out incident. read more

Kept seating tables ahead of our table. Granted we had 9, but not that large. And they were not busy. Come to find out the staff was back in the back playing instead of cleaning the one large table. We arrived at 3:00 on a Saturday & no one was waiting. First impressions do count. The tiny trash can next to the hostess counter was overflowing with trash on the floor which made me realize how very dirty the floor was. The hostess arrived & seemed to have no clue where to seat us although the restaurant was not at all busy. Afternoon consulting with another person she led us through an empty dining room to a table. Our overall impression was that the place looked tired & not real clean. A few years ago this location closed for a few weeks & was given a face lift & new management. It could be past time to do that again. We eat lunch out everyday & during the pandemic we picked up food from local restaurants every day to support the industry. We never ordered from Cheddar's. We hadn't been to Cheddars in a long time & we tried to recall what we had enjoyed previously. Our food was passable but not anything that would make us come back. Our server was ok. Like most restaurants of this type in Lubbock Cheddar's is usually busy. It could certainly improve in many ways to reclaim its popularity. read more

We also did the queso and chips with taco beef added which was good. The salsa was sugary sweet and very tasty. all in all a great trip, thanks cheddars! peep the epic pics! read more

I had such a great experience here the other night.... great, great service as a solo diner in the bar. It was actually pretty entertaining on a Saturday night -- lots of the staff would pop in and chat w/ the bartender and I. It was actually alot of fun. I ordered: Maui Margarita $4.95 -- yumm! Onion Rings $3.99 -- very good, HUGE, couldn't finish them all Spasagna (can't remember how much, but under $10) Mango Mojito $4.95 ? - I think Everything was awesome - - I highly recommend the Spasagna sooooo good! The only bad thing -- the music was horrific! Absolutely terrible! LOL The worst imaginable 70's get-it-on music. The bartender and I were just rolling our eyes -- it was ridiculous actually. We even mentioned it to the MOD, but she just shrugged it off and didn't do anything. I wish there were some Cheddars in Phoenix. read more
