I really enjoy going here when I have a longer lunch break. The employees are kind, patient, and efficient. Service is pretty fast. In terms of pricing and environment, this restaurant feels kind of like sugar bakers - the crowd that eats here is generally older, and entirely female. Maybe this is because it's a quieter eating location with good sandwiches. Nothing here is out of this world or fancy. However, I never leave disappointed. For the sides, I would recommend the broccoli cheddar over the potato soup. Also, get the pasta salad or chips instead of the side salad. If possible, leave room for pie. read more

Honeycomb Pie Shoppe #2 personally delivered an apple pie for my granddaughter. I searched high & low on food delivery sites for a whole pie, but couldn't find anything. Luckily, I found Honeycomb. We stopped in for lunch while in town to tour Texas Tech. The staff was so nice and made some delicious suggestions on what to try. We loved everything especially the PIE!! I personally loved the Key Lime! We will definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

The shop is very cute. Folks were very nice. Pie prices are good. Pie looked very good and there were lots of folks in there eating. I ordered a Rueben sandwich and a side of pimento cheese. Very delicious, but I paid 24 dollars for a wonder bread sized sandwich and a side of pimento cheese. I will be back to try their pies, but at that price, I cannot justify eating their sandwiches again. I would pay it if the sandwich was on a large piece of rye bread stacked high with meat and sauerkraut, but it was big enough to fit in a sandwich bag. I ended up making some rice at home because I felt hungry and shafted after that sandwich. Sandwiches are 15 and some change by themselves, but it's 20 for a combo meal. You can eat at Texas Roadhouse for that. If the combo was 15 and the sandwich was 12, I'd be in there all the time. Ps, I asked for the pimento on the side, but it came on the sandwich. This place is amazing!! From the sandwiches, to the soups, sides, and of course--- the pies-- wow, just WOW!! The owner is a complete doll and she knows simple comfort food. I had the Turkey/cheese sandwich toasted, with vegetable soup and apple pie. My husband had the cheeseburger, with a side of chips, and a slice of their key lime pie. We were both completely happy with the entire experience! The restaurant itself is spotless and so cute. This is definitely a gem in Lubbock! This place has so many varieties of pies ranging from sweet fruit fillings to tart custard fillings. The pies tend to be a little bit too sweet for me, but the flavor is really good. The price is also reasonable. It's $4 which might seem like a lot, but it's very filling and the slice is moderately big. I love their key lime pie. The filling is creamy, yet airy and light, and it has a delicious lime flavor. The crust is nice and buttery but it's a bit too crumbly for me. The lemonade pie is also pretty good. It's exactly like the key lime pie, except it has a lemon flavor instead of a lime flavor. read more

Every pie we've bought from here has been excellent. My favorites are the chocolate dream and the chocolate, and my husband loves the coconut. We were finally able to stop by for lunch this week, and the sandwiches are just as good! The BLT was delicious, and it had plenty of bacon which I love. I checked the menu and saw combos so I ordered a Rueben with a tomato/basil soup, and bag of chips. The sandwich was like the German restaurants in Fredericksburg make. The pizza isn't terrible, but it's nothing special and definitely wouldn't make my top 10. As for the subs, credit where it's due, the crusty bread they use is very good. I'll give Dion's that. The Greek salad was decent, not the Caesar salad though. The dressing is packaged so you get what you get.
