I decided to eat a good breakfast while getting some major admin work done and went to Chicken Run. I ordered the Hiker's Benedict since I was specifically craving Eggs Benedict. But being neurosparkly has its challenges that show up in the weirdest ways. While I have a very open palate and can be a total foodie, I can get very weirded out by textures. So when my meal came with all of the toppings chopped up into small cubes, I simply couldn't enjoy it. The waitress asked about it, and I told her it's my own weirdness and not to worry about it. They still took the meal off even though I fully planned to pay. I don't share this so that people will abuse their kindness, but so that people will know that this is a business with heart. At a time when I'm feeling like especially sensitive about being too much, this little thing meant so much to me. I will absolutely return here. Thank you, Chicken Run - Lubbock. Good folks, great service, and coffee that'll put a little peace and love in your soul. We'll definitely be back. The bartender even drew a fancy little picture in the foam on my coffee. He kept sneaking looks over his shoulder at me, too. Maybe he somehow knew I'd sampled a couple of gummies earlier and was just watching the good vibes roll in, or maybe he figured an old blue collar hippie like me was liable to hug the espresso machine. Either way, the coffee was outta sight, man , so peace, love, and stop by for some fantastic coffee!

This coffee shop has its own drive-thru on the back of a large commercial building on the southwestern side of Lubbock, TX. The inside has high ceilings. Multiple seating arrangements scattered. Simple yet elegant decor with a clearcut palette of black, gold, brown, and ivory. The most vibrant item was the chalkboard sign with the new roasts and the WI-FI password. For our late afternoon dust storm road trip back home to New Mexico on February 17, 2026, my daughter opted for an iced cappuccino that was deliciously creamy and sweet to her liking. I wanted something much more impactful and caffeinated, so I settled on a Cortado which is basically a shot of espresso with as much steamed milk. It took a while for it to cool down, but it was some of the best espresso I have had in such a long while. I believe there is a second location on Salem Ave. This one closes early.

For anyone wondering what I was wondering: - you do not order at the counter and then sit down. You choose a table and have a waitress. Ours was attentive and friendly. - don't go here if you just want something light. Most items are heavy. There is a fruit parfait option, but it was 12 dollars. - if you're debating getting the biscuits or the blueberry pancake, absolutely get the pancake. It was HUGE and delicious. - Don't bother paying extra and getting meat. Neither the ham nor bacon were very good. - sit inside if you can. The front patio is okay, but is surrounded by the pothole filled parking lot, backs of buildings, and an employment service business. - I was hoping to grab a slice of apple bread or an apple item, but the bakery cabinet was extremely limited and needed to be restocked.

Coffee was tasty, and we went with the southwestern omelet, French toast, 1 blueberry pancake and breakfast plate with ham. Highly recommended to order the hash browns well done (1 plate and 1 did not) and wished I had done the well done ones. Next time. The food was great and everything came out hot. As they are a make to order kitchen, patience is key for greatness. We also ordered a few of the fried pies to go....so the verdict is still out on those.
