When we walked into Gold Stripe Coffee Roasters, the young lady who held the fort down was doing just that. She was friendly, fast, and efficient. She knew her stuff too! This coffee shop has its own drive-thru on the back of a large commercial building on the southwestern side of Lubbock, TX. The inside has high ceilings. Multiple seating arrangements scattered. Simple yet elegant decor with a clearcut palette of black, gold, brown, and ivory. The most vibrant item was the chalkboard sign with the new roasts and the WI-FI password. For our late afternoon dust storm road trip back home to New Mexico on February 17, 2026, my daughter opted for an iced cappuccino that was deliciously creamy and sweet to her liking. I wanted something much more impactful and caffeinated, so I settled on a Cortado which is basically a shot of espresso with as much steamed milk. It took a while for it to cool down, but it was some of the best espresso I have had in such a long while. I believe there is a second location on Salem Ave. This one closes early. read more

More expensive than the cactus alley location but maybe it's because of what I ordered. I like this space more because it larger and comfier in terms of seating. I got the gingerbread latte (seasonal) and the iced vanilla honey with oat milk which was okay. I wish they served our drinks in reusable cups like the cactus alley location because it's ~ cozier and eco friendly ~ but that's okay. Not bad read more

The iced latte here was pretty mediocre, had way too much milk, couldn't really taste anything but milk. The honey almond bagel on the other hand was delicious, would definitely come back to get that. The service was good and overall a nice shop. If you order a latte, I'd recommend getting an extra shot of espresso or ask for less milk. read more

I've had a change in job and don't get to come by much so getting a coffee here is a treat. I came in today and got my usual latte and received a 3/4 full cup of mostly foam. WHAT?! HIGH QUALITY COFFEE in Lubbock, Texas. This place came highly recommended by another coffee aficionado and I'm so grateful it's the closest in proximity to where I'm staying with my parents on my visit. The barista was super friendly, accommodating, and worked quickly to get me my coffee in record time. This rather large shop is surely crowded during peak times, but I came close to closing so only a few others were sitting on the comfy couches. Their coffee is pretty good, but among the best I've had. It was dead in there at 7:00 am and it's also housed within a bank building which may take away from the "vibe potential" of the business. Just a fantastic local coffee shop that does in-house roasting. Lots of coffee selections with good descriptions, looked like some good teas also, coffee by the pound, even supplies you need a new coffee maker or pour-over thingy. Lots of ways to prepare your coffee - I opted for a pour-over since I had time, but drip and even a vacuum pot were available. Friendly service.
