It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture, and it really made our first visit feel extra special. The matcha is amazing! The best place to go if you are a matcha drinker. I added boba and lychee for a fun addition. My husband got the mango smoothie with mango boba and it was also very yummy! I'm so glad we stopped in. We came in for boba after dinner, not realizing they close at 9:00. The girl who was closing was very rude she threw our straws down, had a clear attitude, and kept giving us rude looks. It made me really uncomfortable. We were out the door by 9:00, so it's not like we were holding them up. If you're going to take orders that close to closing, there's no reason to treat customers like that. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. read more

This visit is from January of 2024. This is objectively the best boba in town. Their fruit tea is very fresh, and they've got so many different amazing combinations of drinks. My girlfriend Claire and I are from LA, so there's so many boba shops there. But Claire is even more impressed with the Teapioca here than with even most places we love in SoCal or in bigger cities (Yifang, Sunbright, 85 etc). Quality control is excellent, when she visited town we went every day for 4 days in a row. We were surprised to see who we assume are the owners working hard behind the scenes gently guiding their employees to make the drinks in the best possible way. I can't stress enough that this place is so good and I hope it always stays that way. Next time we want to try the Snowyn Taiwanese shaved snow too, that's not something Lubbock gets a lot! read more

I was introduced to boba in college...but after leaving Virginia, it was almost impossible to find unless you visited larger metro areas-like DFW, Houston, and weirdly-Albuquerque had one in their mall. But Lubbock? Not a chance. So, I was absolutely delighted when when Teapioca opened, not only in Lubbock, but by my house! I love having access to boba tea, with the small town feel Lubbock is known for. The owners are almost always on-site and obviously care about product and service. Today, I asked for boba and a half-meaning what normally comes in the drink, plus about half a scoop more, vs. a whole. The employee had to think about it-but was determined to accommodate, even after I said if it was too hard, not to worry. Then, the owner happened to pass and mentioned that Crumbl had just brought them free cookies and she wanted to pay it forward, so she called it the "manager's special" and deducted it. Love coming here the staff are so nice and the drinks are always good. Last night however I went in around 9:00pm and it was pretty busy. The owners I'm assuming (I only ever see workers around college age and this couple seemed 50+ years old) we're arguing very loudly by the machines that shake the drinks. The cashier seemed very embarrassed and uncomfortable, she later apologized for how they were acting. After I paid for my drinks I kind of just watched them in the kitchen and noticed how the staff tried to avoid the owners (again assuming they're the owners.) My wife goes often enough that one of the friendly members of the staff now recognizes her and knows to look for the online order. Online: They do have an APP that allows online ordering! I was pleasantly surprised to find a boba shop in this area. Great options and wonderful beverages.

Very clean, spacious and cute! We stopped in probably about 30 min before closing time but it was still pretty busy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu is placed in multiple areas of the store which was helpful and made social distancing easier. The drinks are fairly priced, and the drink sizes are actually larger than most standard sizes. We ordered the Thai Blastea (which is a Iced Thai Tea) and it was delicious! Usually I have to ask for it to be sweeter at other bobas places, but they nailed it without having to substitute or add anything. Also ordered a Mango Strawberry smoothie with popping lychee and it was amazing. It didn't taste artificial or overly sweet. The way I've been coming here every day this past week, morning, during lunch, after work and night it's hard not to give this place 5 stars! The drinks & macarons are amazing, and Lubbock has been needing a spot like this for a long time now, I'm glad they're here! However... their customer service could use some work. I tried to call in 15 minutes before close to place a call order, well they don't do that (I'm not sure why the store even has a number then) but okay no biggie they close at 9, I live 10 minutes away let me go out of my way to get some boba this late night. Well I arrive only to get some sas from the cashier when ordering, I asked for a chai tea boba drink and per her words "since I came in 5 min.. no 4 minutes before close we arent brewing tea anymore." So I couldn't get my chai. I politely explained to her that I tried to make a phone order prior to coming in last minute to which she said "well we do door dash & grub hub..." Well some of us don't want to go through several pages of an app to order a drink, sorry? I'm a customer I'm not here to go back and forth with you. I URGE the owner to start accepting phone orders 30 min before close, don't make me be out to be the bad guy because I'm coming 5 minutes before close. As far as I know you're fully operating until that front door is locked & chairs are up. I can't say enough good things about the Teapioca Lounge!! Easily the best boba in Lubbock! I ordered the creamy green tea boba madness, and it was amazing! The boba was the perfect texture. They let you customize the sweetness level, and I got the 25% sweet level which was perfect. My wife ordered the mangonada and also loved it! It was refreshing with a perfect mix of sweet and salty. So service, wonderful and polite, nothing gobblegook in the way just you choose what your getting with a side to it and then you can walk back and wait. Now quality I presume is great as I got something I have not had before as with these special restaurants I got Thai BlasTea with Tapioca pearls which are very weird, but the Rea as it uses ice and is cool, it's tea nothing like a flavor overhaul or overflow just simple tea and with the tapioca pearls it may just be me I do feel a bit of distaste with them but it's quite nice. The girls who work here are so friendly and I truly am so thankful that they are very helpful and social. I have ordered from here three separate times: almond cream blast, taro cream blast, and the Vietnamese coffee were all good. This is probably the only place in Lubbock that had managed to get the boba pearls the right amount of chewiness.
