I don't understand why y'all rated this place so low. Lol. The food is cheap. The variety of food isn't bad, and the cocktails are pretty good! Jelly belly and I were craving spinach dip and this place other than Hillstone is the only place that makes it the way we like it. I got some ribs and he got some steak and chicken tenders. Overall the food tastes pretty decent. My fave thing has always been the broccoli cheese casserole side. Christopher was our server and he really went above and beyond. Normally I deduct a star if my steak isn't cooked to the level of doneness I specify, I asked for medium, I got medium rare or rare, I loved it though...whoever did the cooking did a fine job. I used to like cheddars. However, the quality and service in my eyes has been declining! I went yesterday with some friends, we ordered ribeyes and t bones. They never brought the salad, we had to ask them to pack it to go. Then they brought the steaks full of pepper and soo dry. We had to complain both me and my friend, they took them back and took forever to bring back. By that time we had to ask them to pack them as well. What can I say, it's a typical Cheddar's if you've ever been to one. I came in on a Sunday and was promptly seated. My waiter was very attentive and kept my water filled. I ordered the spinach dip, and chicken tender dinner with a side of corn and French fries. My food was a perfect temperature and came out in a timely manner. Not much else to say really. I had a job interview at this cheddar's location a week ago. the manager wasn't present so they had someone else interview me that wasn't qualified to do so. Days later the manager called me to schedule another interview because she wanted to interview me this time. she said the interview was schedule at 3pm on thursday, march 6th. i arrived at the location minutes before my interview was schedule just to be told that the manager was in a meeting, and both hosts told me they weren't sure how long she'll take. minutes later another employee comes to notify me that i am in line behind another person waiting to be interviewed. he was considerate enough to offer me water. i waited 30-35 minutes just to be asked by the same guy (not the manager) to follow him to a table to be asked a few questions. he proceeded to interview me, and then made me wait another 25 minutes for the manager to interview once again. no refill or even food was offered for the huge inconvenience and unprofessionalism. mind u the entire time i was starving, and had plans to meet with my family for an early dinner. after waiting another 25 minutes the manager proceeds to ask me the exact same questions the guy before had asked me. after the interview she proceeds to leave once again, and make me wait another 10 minutes for her just to come back, and let me know that her boss wasn't present and was either going to call me to have another interview again or that they'd let me know in a day or two if they're offering a job or not. no apologize for the huge inconvenience was ever made by anyone. yet she said she was looking for people who obtain skills like working in fast pace, busy, multi tasking environment even though it seems like her and some of here coworkers don't seem meet those standards..i got notified today (the day after) that i am not being offered a job, and i can't help but be so bothered of the fact that i went through all of that just to be denied the next day. however to be honest i am glad i am not working in that type of management. the manager seems to not know how to be able have control and manage her job position properly. do something about it!! read more

We stopped here for a quick business dinner. Our waiter was nearly incompetent. One of my dining companions ordered a single, tall mixed drink. The waiter asked if the drink should be straight or on the rocks. This type of drink is never served straight. When the drink arrived, it was a triple, short, straight. No more than a splash of soda was in the Old Fashioned glass. Either the waiter or the kitchen was terribly slow. I expect it was our waiter because of the rest of his performance. For example, we told him at the start of the visit that we would need separate checks. He asked us again twice more. Finally, he mumbled so badly I could hardly understand a word he said. I think that most of their reviews are on the money on rating this restaurant. We went to dinner at 7pm, it wasn't super busy and we were able to sit immediately. There were still available seats in our area so I don't think the servers were slammed. It took about 10 minutes to be greeted by our server. NOTE: she was extremely pleasant and told us she was sorry for the wait because it was her second day on the floor by herself. Understandable since I have been a server several times in my lifetime. She took our orders and read them back to us. Now she only had 3 tables from what I could see and only two were occupied at any given time. We ordered our salads out first which they did come before the meals. While eating I noticed several other tables had long wait times for servers to greet, take orders, refill drinks and get their food out. Most servers like mine looked extremely young and unlike mine did not seem as friendly. Another server came by with a bowl of soup and said we ordered it but we didn't so she started asking other tables and they said no, our server came out and confirmed that it did not belong to her tables. By this time we had been waiting on our food awhile and the server being new was feeling the pressure. She stopped by twice to tell us she was sorry but it would be out soon. Finally the food came out and at first was only my husband order. The server who brought his out asked who ordered the Bourbon Salmon which he did and she placed it down. Ok, here is where as a experienced server would have raised a flag to me to ask why only one of our orders came out and confirm if I had ordered a meal too. Nope she didn't even question it and walked off. Our server was helping deliver other tables orders and when she came to check on us she noticed I didn't get my meal. Honestly at this point my husband was half way through his meal. Yep he is not one to wait! I was actually full from my salad, the dinner roll and the BIG Maui Margarita I had almost drank it all. She came back said the cooks were swamped with orders and it should be out soon. She apologized again and at that point asked if I would like to speak to a manager. I told her no and that I was sorta full already and if my order wasn't out quickly just box it up to go and I would eat it maybe later. She came back in 2 min with my meal. Interesting it felt like it had been sitting under heat lamp at least 15-20 min because it was warm not hot. I ate my shrimp and red beans and rice and put the ribs and green beans in to go box. Our server proceeded to apologize again. I finally stopped her and told her the following: I told her she obviously is new, she herself had done a great job and that I could sense she was sincere in her apologies. Things are going to happen outside of her control and I personally understand that, it how you handle it. I gave her advise that sometimes during the busiest time of day the cooks may run behind and it is okay to tell your table if she is experiencing a unusually long time for orders to just tell the table due to it being busy the food is running about 20-30 min out. Or what ever the actual time is. I mean it happens and people are willing to except that if they know in advance. Remember I am in Houston and who knows if any of their staff was effected by Hurricane and are running on a limited staff situation. Didn't see it bothered to many of the customers either so I didn't want to make it a big deal. Maybe offer appetizers that are quick to get out to get people started. It happens! I didn't think the manager was going to do much for me anyways. I also think the only thing the manager could do is work with his staff improving overall services. It's clear that the team could use some tips on handling situations when the cooks are overwhelmed by orders. Now we will I am certain be eating here again since the hotel is in the same parking lot and we are here for two weeks. I hope to see better improvements. By the way the food was good it wasn't bad at all so I really had no complaints on taste and the Maui Margarita was delicious. 9/7/17 UPDATE Went here for lunch, just a house salad and a drink. Salad took 15 minutes at the bar to get. The bartender said they were waiting on the roll. Mmm still too long. Ended up having dinner here as well today. Husband called back into work so was hoping to try out new places. I ate in the bar. My server in the bar was outstanding! I sat at one of the high tops and he had 10 tables and Handle them all with great service. I watched him and was amazed the he was always one step ahead of the customers. He was bringing refills, to go boxes and your checks with out having to wait. He needs to train the rest of their team because he never came back from kitchen empty handed. Everything from start to finish was easy and convenient. I was able to use the website to place order and pay with no issues. The food was delivered hot and accurate at the promised time. Joanie brought my food out to the car and she was amazing. Very personable and courteous. Her customer service skills and professionalism were top tier. I'm not sure if she is a server or not, but if I were to dine in I would want to be seated in her section. You can tell she truly loves what she does in the service/hospitality industry and she does it well! I could see her being a manager or GM even! I see this place has low ratings, probably from folks that go there more often than I do, but here's my review. My husband and I have been to this location twice and both times we have had great experiences with food and service. Both times we've ordered the same thing (we are so basic, sorry.) The food has come out hot and delicious. Also their portions will fill you up. To drink we ordered the strawberry lemonades. Also, both times we've had great servers. They have been attentive and kind. The first time we came was when it first opened at 11am, so it was quiet. The second time was on a Saturday and boy was it busy and loud, but that's obviously expected, it was the weekend! We will definitely be coming to this location again though, since it is close to us and we have had no issues here. read more

So I'm giving this place four stars for the drinks and the croissants and service. The actual food that I had ( Texas cheese fries for an appetizer and the chicken fried steak for an entrée) was just OK. Overall experience was nice. Decorations are nice and all of the staff was really friendly and we got seated pretty fast. We also went in the middle of the day it was about noon on a Monday. The honey butter croissants are the STAR of the show. They were nice and warm and flaky they were literally perfect. I also had I believe it's the Maui Margarita. It was really good and surprisingly sneaky. My chicken fried steak which I had with green beans and loaded mashed potatoes was just average. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. Then we waited a long time for our appetizer to come out which was a trio of nachos, chicken tender, and potato skins. They came out warm not hot. No! Then, while our appetizers are on the table out came our entrees. Literally three minutes later, could not have been more. One of my pet peeves is appetizer and entree coming out at the same time! So I ordered the half rack of ribs and fried shrimp with green beans and broccoli casserole and my friend ordered a bacon cheeseburger with French fries. Food was all lukewarm. I didn't even want to steal a fry from him. The green beans were okay but would be good hot. I've had better ribs at a high school cafeteria. The broccoli cheese casserole was too rich with processed cheese sauce I couldn't finish it. His cheese on his burger was not melty and he ended up taking it to go. I took my food to go and will eat the green beans and trash the rest. I ordered dessert because I'm a glutton for punishment. We got the apple crisp and it was so good but neither of us wanted to finish it or take it home. So if you come get dessert and share! I wouldn't want to go back unless my friend wants to take me there and then I would just get dessert....... that would probably come out before his beverage and actually be hot a,d enjoyable.
