Cheddars REFUSED our service!! We came in with a party of 10 adults and 2 children with one baby. It was my brother's birthday. We asked for a table and when they asked us how many people we said one extra person was going to come an hour later because he didn't get off of work till late. They told us they'd have a table shortly. We waited thirty minutes and were never seated while other big parties were seated as well. They even refused our little girl water when we asked because she was thirsty!! My brother is also on OXYGEN so he can't stand for very long. When we started to get impatient, a server from the back said they couldn't seat us until the other person showed up. Wth!!! So we're supposed to wait an hour for one person so show up?!? And the front desk woman was SOOOO rude!! She had a major attitude and talked to us like she was ready to fight!! Completely awful service and rude employees!! We left and went to Olive Garden where we got GREAT service. Edit: this was also his LAST birthday. RIP 2/10/18 read more

Stopped by on a Tuesday night before going home around 8/9pm. No waiting time to be seated. Hostess was very kind and greeted us once we walked in. We were seated right away, about 2/3 minutes we were greeted by our waitress. She was very nice, she noticed my boyfriend was sick and brung him a tea with honey and lemon no charge. The food was great I ordered the New Orleans Pasta and my boyfriend got the steak and ribs. Overall great service! read more

You guys should ask for Kimberly!! Her service is exceptional and she's so nice & sweet! She needs a bonus or a raise!

Horrible service and they constantly forget orders. And staff could use some customer service training on not ignoring CUSTOMERS. To go orders are almost impossible to make because they will put you on hold for 30 mins or more or just hang up on you. This place is ridiculous read more

It's a cheddars. I don't expect 5 star service or food. I ordered fish tacos and spinach did, It was as good as I expected it to be. My waitress was friendly, and kept my cup filled. read more

I'll keep it very short and simple. Upon being seated our server had an attitude "Man! Why did you give me a table for?" But no worries it wasn't just our server, it was a couple of others. Through out the time that we spent there, the server's attitudes said it all "I don't want to be here", "Why are they seated at my sections" "I'm ready to go home." All of this should give you a CLEAR answer as to why the tips aren't there. Smh but the biggest "surprise" was hearing a racist remarks from a MANAGER. I can see why the ratings at this location is so low. read more

I've always loved Cheddar's, it has been my favorite restaurant. BUT, the Cheddar's at this location is the WORST Cheddar's I've ever came to. My boyfriend and I have been a few times and every time the service has been awful and the food has been either been cold or over cooked( steak specifically) The last time we went, we got sat, and waited at least 15 minutes for someone to come greet us and get our drink order, and that's only because we had to go up and say something to the hostess. The only reason we came back is because we got gift cards, so don't waste your time in coming here if you're expecting good service and food. read more

The girlfriend and I stopped in for some desert. All weekend we had driven past this place and the parking lot was packed so we decided to check it out. Some things I noticed that turned me off right away... It had rained maybe and hour or so before we got there. They awning over the front door was leaking big heavy drops so you had to dodge through them to get to the door. Inside there were some buckets set up not far from the hostess stand to catch water from a leaky roof. The door to the men's room was off kilter and couldn't close properly. Finally the bench I sat on felt like a really old couch, slanted and lumpy. This place is not being maintained. Now for the good, the girlfriend had the apple crisp a la mode and it was warm and yummy until the large amount of ice cream started melting right away and then it wasn't warm but even yummier. I had the moster cookie minus the ice cream and was very pleased with it. Our server was great with refills and not being put off by how late we came in. read more

I had a awesome time with my entire family one Friday afternoon at this location.. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. All of the waitresses were very nice. A waitress by the name of Shanell waited on our party of 11. Let me tell you ...... if you have a large party request Shanell to be your waitress. She was extremely smart and there were ABSOLUTELY no mistakes with our food. The check was free of errors when it was presented. Coming from a person that eats out frequently, a smart and friendly waitress is great to have. I wish that I got service like that at every restaurant. read more

Sooooo many things went wrong with a simple Birthday dinner... I had a party of 18... then I checked in with a Party of 15 then I was told to wait .. after waiting 30 minuets a few Guest left and Party was now 13 .. when we finally got seating I was told that my whole party could not sit together... I knew that would lead to food being misplaced and that's exactly what happened!!! It's was not the best experience..‍ read more

Been here a time or two & I'll say that each visit was definitely a different experience from the first. The first time I visited was to have a late lunch...things were nice & quiet. The service was good & the food was excellent. The next couple of times we made the mistake of going on the weekend...oh boy HUGE mistake. It looked like the kind of restaurant you find outside of Disneyland. Huge crowds, children screaming, chaotic and simply a big waste of time. If that doesn't bother you well you got one over me & you should go anytime. Otherwise, I would go between the hours of 2 -6 PM. read more

We went on a Saturday night but that should not be an excuse for poor customer service. We waited about 20 minutes for a table - this was expected so the review is not based on that fact. We were seated and not acknowledged by a waiter for at least 15 minutes. The waiter took our drink order and then took another 12 minutes just to bring our drinks. We ordered the butter croissants which were barely warm by the time they finally arrived at the table. We then placed our food order we waited at least 35 mins for the food to finally arrive. My friend ordered the corn meal fish and when my friend moved the table napkin to grab the salt/pepper, a huge roach ran away from the plate with a peice of the fried fish on his head. (Dinner for the roach I guess) I jumped away from the booth out of surprise. We informed the waiter and his reply was 'are you serious'? Luckily the roach moved to a corner of the table where he was still visible so I was able to point it out to the waiter. The waiter's reply was "oh wow"..then he walked away to inform what I presumed to be a male who was the manager or shift supervisor. This person happened to be standing not far away but made no immediate attempt to come over to find out what was going on. Two minutes passed and no one came to the table so we left this establishment never to return. read more

Here is an update to my visit on Sunday. I really had to sleep on whether I wanted to give an update because of one person. But I mean what I said. **************** So I must say despite how it started it ended well. My waitress Alicia was right at the table when we sat down.  She was pleasant and friendly. We ordered our drinks and food which came out quickly. As I was sitting there two ladies sat down and from the time they sat down they were giving Alicia a hard time. If you are that picky over the food you need to go home and cook.  They never informed her that they didn't want ice in their drinks she had to take their drinks back. The manager had to come out twice.  I asked Alicia to get the manager for me and when he arrived at the table my other guests were telling him how good of a job she did.  I on the other hand had to tell him of my experience and he quickly asked me was I the one that wrote the review.  So thank you to Jade, Alicia, Bam and Joseph for making the one star into 5 That's what good customer service is being polite,  pleasant and friendly and they all were smiling which made me leave with a smile. Worst phone etiquette ever! I'm literally up the road but decide to call to see what the wait is like. I haven't been to cheddars in years and today I remembered why. After about 6 rings a young woman picks up the phone and says hello. It instantly took me back because I thought I had the wrong number. I asked her if this was cheddars and she says yeah. I'm still in shock because there was no hello thanks for calling cheddars my name is etc. So I ask her what the wait is and she's like what? After this I've had enough and ask to speak to the manager. She's like ummm yeah ok hold on. After 5 mins on hold I hung up. Horrible experience and management should be ashamed of the lack of proper training. True embarrassment. read more

Cheddars a is known for their simple, yet tasty comfort food (e.g., chicken fried steak, blackened salmon), hence the "casual" in their name. My team at work love this place, so I decided to thank them I would buy them all lunch. I ordered close to $100 worth of food and placed the order well in advanced for pick up a little before noon and was told it would be ready when I arrived. How about when I got there I waited another 30 minutes? This is totally unacceptable, especially during the lunch hour when people have to return back to work. The food was standard; no complaints there. Won't be ordering like this again from Cheddars unless they learn how to better manage the busy lunch hour. read more

What a horrible experience.... Well, after eating at the Cheddar's in Dallas, I was really excited to find one in Houston. This review is based on my third experience there..and probably my last. Although the food is great and the prices are reasonable, good service goes a long way for me, and this place doesn't have it. I went on a Friday night, when I believe a wait is expected. Well, after being told it would be about 40 minutes, we decided to stay. After about 20 minutes, I thought something was strange when I noticed that no one was being seated, the line was building, the bar and other waiting areas were over-crowded, the waiters were standing around, and people kept leaving in frustration. Oh, and to top it off, the two teenage hostesses were playing with each other's hair and goofing around with the police officer that stands at the door. That's just aggravating. I spoke with a couple that said they were told their wait time would be 20 minutes...and they were going on 40. That wasn't very promising to me, as I was quite hungry. I overheard the hostess explaining to someone that the kitchen was backed up, so they weren't seating anyone until they could get them caught up. What?? So, the waiters standing around weren't making any tips, the patrons waiting for a table were leaving, the restaurant was losing business, and all the manager could say was "Sorry" in a nonchalant tone to a large party with reservations. What an idiot! I would have been happier being seated at a table and having a drink or two while waiting for my food....and an explanation from the manager would have been nice. instead, we decided that going to Cheddar's was just a bad idea, so we left and found good service and good food at Applebee's. Cheddar's may not be the classiest, but I expect reasonable service and some sort of common sense from any eating establishment. Since I have had more bad experiences than good at this place (and this one just topped them all), I will not be dining at this Cheddar's on Westpark anymore. read more

I saw a lady putting some weave on for another lady inside the restaurant. It was entertaining to watch.

Love the food here but service was horrible. I was alone so I decided to sit at the bar. Now I understand that I shouldn't expect the best table service in this area but I frequented this restaurant years ago when I lived in this city and service has noticeably declined. To start with, a waitress spotted me heading to an empty table. She had menus in her hand and was close enough to hand me one as I was sitting down. She glanced at me briefly and decided to walk past my table back towards the kitchen. The second eventually waiter came to the table without a menu and just said he'd be right back. When he finally came back, no menu, no water. He asked me if I wanted something to drink. I asked if there were any drink specials and said that they don't do specials. I ask for a menu to look at the cocktails and he said he'd be back. Eventually he took a menu from another customer and immediately asked me what I wanted. I spotted some apps that I remembered and he took off after I mentioned them and didn't wait for or suggest a drink order. He came back with water and I ordered a top shelf Margarita {$7} and he left again. Before I could find an entree to order another server asked if I was done with my menu because another customer needed it. I said that I guessed so.... So he took it. End of story. read more

I love the food here and have never been disappointed at any of the locations here in Texas and I have been to 5 different locations. I love their chicken tenders and beer batter shrimp. The portions are big and very inexpensive for the type of food they serve. I understand that people complain about the service, but it always busy during peak hours. The solution to this is go on non-peak hours. read more

I placed a curbside order last week around 8 pm. I pulled into an assigned parking spot for curbside. I called into the restaurant like the sign instructed. A young lady answered the phone and stated someone would be out. Meanwhile as I am getting off the phone with her, a guy that we noticed were going from car to car, bring out orders came over to our car and asked for the name on the order. We told him, then he instructed us to back up to the side of the store. Huh?? He didn't tell anyone else to back up. If you are familiar with this particular location, you know that it gets pretty busy. Even if we wanted to back up , how could we, cars were heading in all sorts of locations in the parking lot. And we didn't understand why we had to back up to the side of the restaurant in the first place, when he was going out to every other vehicle. So we did not move. When he brought our order out, which wasn't even a whole minute after he told us to back up, he shoved my order through my window and stated, Thanks for backing up to the store. I immediately called into the restaurant to speak with a manager on duty. I never pulled away from curbside after that. I waited on hold for almost 15 mins, when a manager finally came to the phone, he could barely say hello , he was too busy laughing and talking to a coworker. I had to say hello twice. His name was Josh. When I finally got his attention, I began telling him about what I had experienced with curbside. In the midst of me explaining what had just happened. Josh hung up. I almost went inside, but it was so packed, I was so furious, . I did not want to cause a scene. I went home instead and decided that they will just loose a returning customer. I will never return to this location again, and may not go to any others. I have been coming here since 2007, I just hadn't been here in a while due to the pandemic. For some reason, the evening crew is horrible compared to the day crew. And Josh is not management material. I will be contacting corporate. read more

Came here last night and what a disappointment. Decided to play it safe by getting the tenders and shrimp. Wasn't sure if the server was new or just bring lackluster since it was close to the end of the night, but we had to remind him twice that we never got utensils and he forgot one of the sides that came with my dish. My food was bland and not that hot. My guess is that it was ready first and was left exposed while the other two dishes were cooking. There was trash littered about the entire restaurant which the staff was sort of sweeping up, but it was still u nightly to see as we were still wrapping up our meal. What really got me was that while paying for the bill, our server was standing nearby while on his cell phone. Seriously? Honestly I have no problem with super casual dining places, but I was so turned off by my experience at this location that I will not be back. read more

I have brought a lot of clients for lunch here. But after today I will not be back. It took over 15 minutes to get our drinks and over 30 minutes to get our appetizer. When we did finally get out food it was cold and they forgot the mushrooms on my plate. If that was not bad enough the waitress never refilled our drinks ones. When she brought me the bill she did not set it on the table she had me reach for it from her as she could not be bothered. My guest were not impresses and were very pissed. Too bad, maybe management changed they just don't care... read more

Reasonable prices! I hate they're charging for croissant bread. It use to be complimentary.

Don't go here for your birthday if you're bringing your own birthday cake. They don't honor cakes and won't allow it to be put in their freezer or fridge which is so lame. Food isn't even that great. read more

One of the many restaurants I've been to when I visited Houston. The environment was nice. We went during lunch time, so it was a little busy. i tried their margarita, which was ok. It was just really really big, I couldn't finish it. I love the croissants they serve for the bread. I miss that!! For appetizers we had the spinach dip which was delicious. For my entree, I had bbq ribs. They were good. The prices were decent. I'd go back here, when I'm back in Houston to try out more of their menu! read more

I love eating here especially their butter croissant. I can have at least two orders (one order has 3 croissant) to myself if I wasn't watching my weight. The ribs are good (meat falls off the bone), potato soups is good also. But the must have before you leave if your a dessert person is the cookie monster dessert. Its a large chocolate chip cookie (bake fresh as you order) with vanilla ice cream on top with chocolate syrup and whip cream and nuts. Remember to tell the waiter you want to order the dessert when u order the meal, so you don't have to wait for the dessert after your meal. read more

Overall, our restaurant experience was pleasant. However, Bobby W. was the one responsible for our pleasant experience. His polite, professional yet personable style was refreshing. Bobby didn't do anything fancy... he just did his job well. He did the little things most people overlook. Most importantly, you could tell his SERVICE was SINCERE. As humans, we can hear words, tones and inflections to determine if someone is happy about doing their job or not. Bobby didn't have an exaggerated tone, he wasn't super bubbly or try to create conversation. He was himself and made it clear that he was ready to take care of whatever we needed. Life is feeling process. People recognize genuine people. Unfortunately, today, many folks in the service industry have become robotic and don't understand what it means to serve others. Bobby W. restored my confidence in the food service industry. Bobby W. Is management material. read more

I hate to be the person that complains, but my family and I had the worst service tonight. You name it and it was wrong. There were 8 people in our party, two of which are elderly and handicapped. When we were seated, there was not enough room for all of us plus wheel chairs. There were extra empty tables and we asked if we could have one more and they didn't try accommodate or even respond. So as we are sitting crowded together the waiter comes to take our drink order and we order some appetizers. They come back about 5 minutes later with the drinks and to tell us that they are out of that appetizer. Not sure how you run out, but whatever. We order other things and that gets brought to the table and by this time our drinks are getting low. We all ask for refills, the waiter leaves, comes back and takes our orders instead. We give him the orders and ask again for drinks and a few minutes later he comes back and says we are out of broccoli (which is a side half of us ordered) and still no drinks. We changed our sides and waited for our drinks... Nothing. We asked another waiter, a bus boy.. Nothing. A good 20 minutes later after we called the manager over did we get drinks. When we finally get our food, (except one person who's food came out about 10 minutes later), it was mostly wrong. The sides we did have were mixed up, we were missing several sides (asked them to bring them, never did) we asked for dipping sauce for the chicken tenders and got them at the end of our meal. The real kicker was my husband had the buffalo chicken tenders and several pieces were not even chicken, they were catfish!! How does that even happen? Needless to say we will not be going back. We understand a few things can happen but that was ridiculous. They need to get it together. We went on a Sunday evening where the crowd is much smaller than a Friday or Saturday night, I would hate to see what happens on those nights. read more

Extremely poor service at the bar during happy hour. Wait Cheddar's doesn't have a happy hour. However I can over look that with decent service. Can't say I got that here. So I paid full price for my drinks and received terrible service!! I stopped in today to wait out the traffic at about 5:30. The bartender got my drink order in a timely manner but that's about it. He never submitted my food order, so it took me about 45 minutes to inquire about my food. Yea I know I should have asked him sooner but I was trying to be patient. He said he didn't hear me but he stood right there and took the order. So it's more likely he forgot to put the order in than he didn't hear me. We got that fixed but It just seemed like I was a bother every time I needed napkins or another drink. I know this is a busy time of day but when I am spending money I wanted to be treated well. read more

Prices are fairly reasonable, but that is all going for this place. The restaurant was dirty on the inside, even the door handles were sticky. It seems to cater to the younger ghetto crowd. I ordered a daiquiri, fried shrimp, red beans/rice, croissant and southern style green beans. The shrimp were old, overcooked and greasy. Croissant was tough. Green beans sweet. Red beans/rice ok but had a few clumps of rice. Wait staff is nice. Wait staff lady put her fingers in my food when a piece of lime fell into it at the bar. read more
