Nice affordable family restaurant with great options. Staff were friendly and we got sat right away. They had great recommendations and a happy hour going on. Food tasted good but the quality was lacking.

Great margaritas and service. We like to visit when we come to Ft. Wayne. We sat inside the bar and it was comfortable and clean. Nice menu done right. They do need to bring back Cajun Chicken Fingers. Don't know when they stopped serving them but BIG MISTAKE.

I came to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen because last year we got some gift cards gifted to us from this restaurant. We decided to finally try it, hoping it was good. Overall, it was not. There were certainly some good/great points to our experience at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, but the negatives outweighed the positives. Lets start with one of the biggest negatives, the service. I am not sure of our waiter was new, but the service definitely lacked. For instance, my mother specifically asked that on her baked potato soup for it be plain, it came with bacon and cheese. My mother asked for her grilled chicken alfredo not to have broccoli, it came with brocolli. My brother had to wait over 10-15 minutes more after we got our food to get his bacon cheeseburger. We do not know if the kitchen or waiter messed up there, but its bad when one person on the table has to watch the rest eat, waiting for his food. The food was a mixed bag. We got an appetizer to start off, which was the Cheddar's Sampler trio. It came with chicken tenders, queso dip and artichoke dip. The chicken tenders were delicious. The queso dip and artichoke dip were terrible, some of the worst we have ever had. My mom did not like her main course. My brother though his burger was mediocre. I did love my Texas t-bone steak. The star of the meal, oddly enough, were the honey butter croissants. As good as the croissants were, it should not be the only thing some members at the table say was the only thing they enjoyed about their meal. Not sure if we will come back.

Out of all the restaurants I visited here on vacation from Arizona, this was hands down the best. The food was fresh and very delicious. After all that the waitress was the best I ever had. It was like getting served by a family member. What I will always remember is her million dollar smile. I worked in Customer service in the hotel industry and was awarded employee of the year several times but her customer service greatly surpassed mine. Candis Bibbs our waitress went above and beyond and need to be celebrated. She is a five star employee. Thanks for making my family very happy on my vacation

Sidney was a great waitress. All the food was fantastic. Salmon, broccoli cheese casserole, ribs, steak, burger, and chicken sandwich. Definitely a good spot to stop at!

They have a very short suite menu, but what I had was terrific I had a a salad with salmon on it and a lot of other veggies. It was terrific. The salmon was jerk, salmon, and the whole thing was a delicious repast. We had a appetizer of a couple bowls of their homemade chips. Unlike many places that don't salt them. These were salted just the right amount not too salty and I can't say anything bad about it. Our server was terrific and his name was Alex and the place is shaping up. I guess they just took it over from someplace else. The walls are a little bit bare needs a little more decoration and the ceiling is bare, but the chairs are very comfortable so it's an easy five star.

If you want sun...sit out on the patio. If you want sunny shade and a breeze..sit under the outdoor cover/bar area or grab a table with an umbrella. You can't really go wrong here. Charlie's is also good for larger groups...and kids! Charlie's place is a large facility with lots of seating. The hosts are friendly. Making an on line reservation is easy. They always seem to have plenty of staff to serve and make you feel comfortable. Kudos to the team for developing a more attractive and welcoming lobby area! Sunday afternoon is brunch. They have a different menu than a normal lunch or dinner menu. Those menus are usually large and full of great choices. The brunch menu is much narrower and dominated by breakfast items. There are some non breakfast items...but not many. My wife had the breakfast tacos. She really liked the egg and bacon mixture. The sour cream and salsa sauces blended the tastes nicely. The Cobb salad was very fresh and tasty. There were lots of side ingredients such as egg, avocado, bacon, blue cheese, tomato and cucumber. The grilled chicken was plentiful and moist. Just enough grilled and seasoned taste to blend right in with the ingredients. The home made honey mustard dressing was consistent with what you would expect from honey mustard.

Bubba's 33 (Coliseum Blvd) - first time visit; enjoyed the food, not fond of the atmosphere…read more I like to give new places a good period of time to settle in before trying them. Bubba's has been open in the old Chili's location now for more than 4 months. They seem like they have hit a steady-state so it's time for a review. The facility is very large and very popular. They were very busy on this particular Saturday evening. Our quoted wait time was 45-55 minutes. I overhead people commenting that they had been waiting over an hour. You can manage this issue by accessing the website and putting your name on the wait list. Bubba's spacious front porch makes a nice waiting area on a warm evening. Inside there isn't as much comfortable waiting spaces. Once inside you will find a large wide open seating area with an industrial ceiling. Booths are closely lined up to maximize seating. There is a very large & neonly-attractive bar area to the south side of the facility. TV's line to perimeter of the dining area. The walls contain typical sport and bar neon decor items. Overall a very electric and energetic atmosphere. People everywhere. Volume gets a bit loud making it a challenge to talk at your table. The team here was well organized and hustled. They were friendly while very focused on getting the tasks done. Our waitress took the time to serve us well. Plenty of wait and kitchen staff to keep things moving - well done! Bubba's has a very large menu with decent/expected prices. There are American food selections for everyone. The drink menu was large and attractive as well. Seemed odd that there were no prices on the drink menu - we had to ask only to get an "approximate" cost. Fortunately the drink prices were about what you would expect. Here is a run down on the food we ordered: -Onion Rings: simply outstanding! Thick onion piece enclosed in a thick batter. Batter was slightly crispy & seasoned, no over the top oily taste. Chipotle/BBQ/smoked Bubba's specialty sauce was a good add -Fried Pickles: not as impressive as the onion rings. Pickle chips are thin with a mild-bland dill taste. The breading is moderately thick and more crunchy. Seems like it had a touch of corn meal type flavoring. The home made ranch dressing had a mild ranch taste that didn't accent the pickle flavor as much as I had hoped. -Shrimp Tacos: my wife liked her fresh tasting tacos. Moist, tender and tangy. The crispy tots were a big hit as well. -Patriot Burger: very good beef taste, large patty loaded with all the toppings. The BBQ sauce and onion ring were excellent adds -Wings: I have a detailed review on the wings page. These medium to large wings were perfectly cooked and then lightly fried. The skins we're moderately crispy. The garlic Parmesan sauce had a heavy garlic flavor. Real Parmesan cheese was mixed with the garlic/oil mixture. The Sweet Chipotle BBQ sauce was slightly sweet and had a lower level of BBQ spice. Both were sauces with good flavor. Bubba's has settled in well. They seem to be executing their model pretty well. The menu has something for everyone. Next visit I will try the pizza as I've heard glowing reviews about the pizza. The food we selected was very tasty and the team hustled to serve. On the downside..I will admit this atmosphere was "bigger" than my expectations. The wait was long - despite using the wait list feature. The crowd was large and very "busy" coming and going. The volume was a bit loud causing our table of four to raise our volume. Overall...Bubba's is worth a try if you like American style food. Use the wait list feature. Be prepared for a busy/active dining experience.

The host and our server both were very kind and helpful. Our server, Wendi, was authentic and attentive. She talked with us about the menu, kept our drinks filled, and checked in on us often. The restaurant is definitely a sports bar. Large TVs line every wall. The decor is Americana. While it's loud when it's full, it just adds to the energy of the place. My husband and I both ordered the Shotgun Shrimp Po' Boy. He had Fire Fries and I had the loaded tots. The Po' Boy was loaded with shrimp and the Shotgun sauce is delicious! Hubbys Fire Fries had quite a kick, but so good! And my loaded tots were delicious! I highly recommend you get yourselves to Bubbas 33. They make everything from scratch which makes it all even better!

The Beer Garden is a nice place to hang out while you wait. Though the seats are all wood and low to the ground. The Philly Steak and cheese was piled high with tender and moist beef. Not a lot of seasoning to the meat. The au jus provided some enhanced beef flavoring. The bun was relatively soft while maintaining a toughness that made it nice to dip without falling apart. I thought the sandwich would come with more peppers and ooze with cheese, but it did not. The Mac & cheese was just kinda there. It didn't do much to ramp up the tastes. The noodles were very soft - almost squishy. There was a mild amount of sauce to the noodles. I would prefer more...enough that you would want to dip the bread in the leftover sauce. The cheddar cheese that laid on top didn't stick to the noddles...it just peaked off. My wife loved her Burrito Americana sandwich. Lots of moist chicken and fresh fillings. Overall there are plenty of simple and diverse things on this menu! The Deck had plenty of help to move people along. Though they didn't push you out. Lanes are super close together (duh) so the room is limited. I recommend 2 lanes if you're doing more than 6 people. 1 hour was enough time to play one game with six people at a casual pace. Table space while you're bowling is limited so we usually bowl with drinks and a group appetizer and then move back to the tables to have an actual meal. Lots of fun with good food in a friendly atmosphere. Ducky's - duck pin bowling is fun, but is the food good?…read more Ducky's advertises themselves as a scrap kitchen. So...it should be good, right? They don't have a very big menu. There are five entrees to go along with a small amount of burger, chicken tender and appetizer choices. I went with the burger of the month - the pizza burger. The friendly waiter said the pizza sauce was made in house from scratch. The sauce was outstanding! It was thick and sweet with a bold tomato paste taste. The bun was soft and slightly grilled with a buttery flavor - very nice! It is odd that the burger is served in halves and vertical. The burger patty was very thin and cooked to a medium well done consistency - I would prefer medium rare but they didn't ask my preference. I thought the burger was over cooked and a bit tough/crunchy on the edges. It did have and nice high quality meat flavoring as it is sourced locally. The burger was covered with grilled pepperoni. This added a nice "pizza" flavor when combined with a nice bedding of mozzarella cheese. My wife really liked her chicken tenders. They were nice and moist. The breading was unique, tasty and crispy. She said the fries were very good while the best part might have been the house fry dipping sauce. That sauce was a nice combination of southwest and traditional meat flavorings. The side salad, to replace the fries, was fresh yet very small. The salad came in a half-ball type dish that was slightly larger than half a baseball. The half ball was actually unstable to eat out of. I had to cup the bowl with one hand to keep it from tipping over. The salad had a few side tomato and pepper parts added. There just isn't much room for things in this small of a dish. We decided to try the strawberry bread pudding for dessert. This was a fantastic dish! The breading was basically two pieces of fried French toast. It was soft on the inside with a cinnamon swirl and strawberry pieces. The breading was drizzled with a thin moderately sweet strawberry flavored syrup. The syrup was accompanied by some fresh whipped cream also bathed in syrup. Overall, Ducky's does have good food. They have a limited menu at moderately expensive prices. My preference would be to sit down and enjoy the scratch made items versus squeezing them in while you bowl. Also consider dinning at Ducky's and walking across the street the Pearl Arts Center for a program.

Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.
