Steak Frites*
Theresa L.

Situated downtown, very close to my hotel. Cute place, a lot bigger than it looks everyone was so nice! If you go between 5-6 it's happy hour and a lot of stuff is $3 off! I got a glass of cab and ordered the steak frites as my dinner. Skirt steak medium rare, perfectly cooked and the fries were crunchy and delicious. Really enjoyed my meal and if I am back in town I would definitely come back!

We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was wonderful. The service was awesome, very attentive and never let our drinks get too low. We had the private room in the back which easily fit our party of about 45. We were able to choose from beef filet, salmon and the airline chicken. The appetizers and salads came out quick and were delicious too. Only thing I wish we could've changed was different temperatures on the beef. Overall highly recommend for a party!

My daughter chose this restaurant to celebrate her 25th birthday, and I couldn't be happier with her choice! The ambiance is a perfect balance of classy and sophistication but not so much you'll feel uncomfortable. We had the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, but I wanted indoors. I don't do bugs. LOL! When we arrived, we were seated by the manager and our server introduced herself minutes later. Speaking of our server--she was the best! Friendly, personable, and knew her stuff! I just wish I could remember her name, she was so good!!! Now, let's talk about the food. While some places can make their dishes look amazing but fall short on taste, this restaurant delivered! I will say this.... If you choose only one dish to try, make it the calamari. Trust me, it is my top three favorites from all the Michelin-starred spots I've ever been to If I had to pick one thing that was disappointing, it would be the crème brûlée. As a self-proclaimed crème brûlée buff, I always have to give it a try, no matter where I go and unfortunately, theirs was not good. Beautiful presentation but it was on the bland and was not sweet at all. Despite that, I will STILL give this place 5 stars! I

A great spot for a business meeting beautiful setting and quick seating for our group of five. The server was patient and attentive to everyone's needs. The food was delicious, and the Kimchi Meatloaf was outstanding!

Another excellent experience at Marquee. Tonight we dined outside in the shade of the building. The cool breeze kept the 80+ degree enjoyable. It was nice to dine in a comfortable environment and people watch the pedestrians walk by. Making a reservation on Open Table is easy. You can get there from their website or the Open Table app. The service team was very professional and welcoming. Our waitress, Michaela, was on top of the refills and service. She new her menu well and was very helpful. We started with the frites in truffle oil along with beer cheese and aioli sauces. The frites were thin and had crispy edges. They weren't very meaty and had a nice salty seasoning. You could pick up the truffle flavor in the oil which was very tasty. The aioli sauce was thicker with a mayo consistency but a delicious aioli accent taste. The beer cheese congealed quickly. It did have a very mild beer and cheese flavor. A nice starter if the other items don't appeal to you. My wife had the blackened scallops. She loved the risotto. It was very creamy. The scallops were delicious and nicely blackened without going over board. I ordered the seafood cioppino. It came without 8 mussels and shredded shrimp and salmon. There were larger chunks of salmon that were excellent. They were moist and perfectly cooked. They flaked a little bit but more readily stuck together. The salmon had a nice fish taste. The dish was bathed in a very thin and slightly spicy tomato broth. The broth helped moisten the salmon and add a slight amount of spice. There wasn't much shrimp detected. Though the shrimp kept its shrimp taste like the salmon. The mussels were also tender and tool on the tomato broth flavors. The broth kept the potato wedges moist and broke up the potato taste. The small pieces of tomato that were present were a bit too mushy for me. Overall...Marquee is a nice option if you want a relaxing environment and unique/high quality food. And...excellent service!!

Wonderful service, amazing food and such a beautiful place. We had a great Valentine's Day dinner here and it was so worth it.

Got to eat here for a business meeting. The setting was gorgeous and very well done. We got seated right away with a group of five. We had a handful of different eating styles and the server was super patient and so helpful for everyones need! The food was delicious! I have the Kimchi Meatloaf and it was so good!

Chef's Choice Board

We came here on a Saturday in March, it wasn't very busy but we were sat in a weird spot, which personally affected the feel of the restaurant since we were seated next to a very large group who was a little loud. There are a lot of nice intimate spots we would have preferred as a couple. Our waiter was friendly, but our food came out before our drinks which was a beer and an Aperol Spritz. We ordered the Chef's Choice Board, which may have been why it beat our drinks to the table. It was delicious! I'd definitely give this spot a try if you're in the area. They also had a nice patio for the warmer months.

Steak Frites cooked medium rare

Marquee has been on my list for what seems like forever, and now that I finally made it in, I can say it lives up to the hype. Luckily we went on a Thursday night, so it wasn't too crowded and we were able to sit on their patio and enjoy the nice weather. Our server was so sweet and attentive, helping us decide between cocktails (arguably the most important decision of the night). I decided on the April 25th, a gin-based drink that had a fun Mexican flare that I'd highly recommend. The steak frites were cooked to our liking and the truffle fries that came with were downright addicting. The combo of goat cheese, orange, and pickled red onion on my Valencia salad was the perfect combination, and I'd recommend adding on a protein if you're making it a meal like I did. Can't wait to go back - I've got my eye on the kimchi meatloaf!

Chilaquiles Poutine
Charissa H.

Delicious French fusion cuisine. They don't describe themselves as that, but that's what the menu looks like and tastes like. Their poutine is one of the best dishes I've had in awhile, and it's a must get. The entrance has a really tiny sign that you'll probably miss. They have plenty of seats in an atmosphere that reminds you of a hotel. Not sure if the hotel theme was what they wanted, but it looks nice nevertheless. Let's go into details. Chilaquiles Poutine - French Mexican fusion wiith guajillo pulled pork, fries, curds, cilantro, and lime. This is one of the best dishes I've ever had. You need to get this. Flavor is perfectly balanced. The only problem with this dish is that the chef should have cut up the cilantro. I used my hands and tore it up myself. We got this as an appetizer, but it's a good sized entree. 5/5 stars. Salmon - French Cajun Italian fusion with shrimp, andouille sausage, roasted tomato risotto, asparagus, red chili beurre blanc. Salmon was cooked perfectly to medium. I loved the Cajun influence of dirty rice with sausage and shrimp, but they went Italian with risotto to make it fancier. It goes well with the salmon. The beurre blanc is tasty, but I couldn't taste the red chilis. Would have given a good balance to the dish if it was noticeable. Still a good dish, nevertheless. 5/5 stars. Tomahawk Porkchop - French American fusion with succotash, potato serrano pavé, maple-apple butter, and chipotle barbecue sauce. Pork was delicious with the bbq sauce. It could have been a stronger chipotle flavor, but subtlety is fine too. The pavé and succotash are out of this world. They outshine the pork, but the pork was above average. 5/5 stars. Carrot Cake - Typical carrot cake, not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of it, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. It's pretty big, you could share it. I think Eddie Merlot's carrot cake is to die for. This one is just ok. 3/5 stars. Tres Leches Cake - You want milk? Boy, do you get milk. The cake was saturated in milk. Whipped cream on top and ice cream on the side. The creativity and overabundance of milk makes me laugh. I enjoyed it. I wish there was more fruit to balance it out more. 4.5/5 stars. Add more fruit, and that goes to 5. Amaretto Sour - I don't drink, so this is what my boyfriend thinks. He enjoyed it and said most places don't offer this drink. They make it better than my boyfriend can at home, so they probably use better ingredients. Strawberry Lemonade - So they don't offer a drink menu aside from alcohol drinks, but our waiter said they can make anything you want. Since I don't drink, I went with strawberry lemonade. It's good, but it would have been nice to have a non-alcohol menu. 4/5 stars. The service was great. Nathaniel was our waiter, and he was very good. We went here for our 2 year anniversary, and it was a good romantic time, just don't sit in the lounge if you wanna hear your partner. Go here, I highly recommend the food, especially the poutine.

Cauliflower.. highly recommend
Scott M.

We were in town for some Tin Caps baseball and this place was near the hotel. Really glad we tried it! Service was great... Food was excellent and ambience was nice. Sit indoors or out.. highly recommend the cauliflower which can be shared or a meal ... comes with two different kinds of sauces which are both very good. Only thing missing was something on the plate to go with the cauliflower... carrots? I dunno but it seemed like it needed an accompaniment.. very good dish though.

It was alright -- nothing special, but given the size and volume of the place, I don't necessarily expect everything to be made completely fresh to order. It did the job. The service was also just alright. My interaction with the barista/bartender was brief and unfortunately a bit stale. She wasn't rude, just not particularly warm or memorable. Overall, it's a convenient place with a lot of options, but the experience itself was pretty average.

We did half sweet potato noodles and half purple price, but I'd recommend just the sweet potato noodles. The guy recommended the yum yum sauce and gochujang, so that's what we got. If we just got say 6 pieces of chicken, I'd probably be ok with the price. The drinks are really good, so I'd recommend getting a drink. Service and atmosphere are good. Everything was clean. Dash In - historic downtown breakfast or lunch option…read more First off...Dash In won't appeal to everyone. The prices are a bit high compared to other places with similar food items. Parking may be a challenge depending on the time of day. And the dinning area is small. Dash In has been a downtown Fort Wayne eatery option for many years. They are located on Calhoun Street next to Pint & Slice and a couple blocks south of the court house. This restaurant has retained the vintage building feel. The interior brick and wood work are very attractive to go along with the more modern decor. The bar is very attractive. They have a very small street level outside patio if that is your preference. The shop is very small. I'm guessing the bar seats about 10 people. The main dinning area probably seats about 40. The team here is very friendly and welcoming. They hustle to serve. We went on a late Sunday afternoon and didn't not have to wait. I don't think they take reservations. There are lots of people coming and going with carry out orders. Today we had no problem finding a street parking spot. There is a parking garage nearby if no street spots are available. The menu is actually fairly broad. They have a special brunch menu along with a breakfast all day menu. There were several sandwiches and wraps available. A couple salads too. The coffee and alcoholic drink menus were very large. We didn't have either of these products this time so I can't give you any feedback on them. They have a special soup du jour and deli side selection. Today it was a mushroom arugula soup and caprese salad side. My wife loves breakfast and ordered a make-to-order omelette with a side of grilled vegetables. She really liked the light tasting eggs and fresh tasting vegetables. The tomato bisque soup is one of their staples. It is delicious and would be great with a grilled cheese sandwich from the menu. The soup was smooth and creamy. It had a gentle tomato flavor along with a more predominant milk/cream base. The soup surprisingly has a stronger spicy after taste - still outstandingly delicious! The side salad is very simple. It has a combination of fresh spring mix lettuce along with a minimal amount of onion, cheese and red pepper. The honey mustard dressing was smooth, creamy, thick and a bit spicy. It was mild on the honey/sweet taste while stronger on the mustard accent. The Italian panini sandwich was very good. The ciabatta bread was slightly grilled with a firmer exterior but not crunchy. The bread had a very freshly baked taste. The sandwich had a high quality tasting ham, pepperoni, salami and provolone cheese. The meats weren't piled high...but enough to get the flavor from each. The grilled onions and banana peppers gave the sandwich a nice zing. The pleasant aioli sauce moistened the sandwich and blended the spicy meats with the zippy onions and banana peppers. Overall the food quality was excellent yet a bit more costly than you might expect. The service was spot on and helped make it a pleasant dinning experience. The older building design, if you like that, adds to the overall experience. Give them a try!

His current venture, Bistro Nota, is great, but has a couple of flaws. First, let's talk about what's good. Mainly it's the food, which is uniformly and consistently excellent. Flavors and textures are spot on and portions are generous. The wait staff are well-trained, attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. Decor is basic, but the room is comfortable and the background music is well-chosen and at just the right sound level. The flaws are mainly two. First, the menu never changes. We've been patronizing the restaurant since it opened and are getting little tired of the same offerings. And for a person like myself, who doesn't eat red meat, the selections are even more limited as beef plays a major role on the menu. My conception of a fine dining restaurant (I don't know -- maybe Bistro Nota doesn't see itself as that) is one where you are offered a chance to discover something new at every visit. Bistro Nota doesn't fill that criterion. Second, the dessert menu is abysmal. Typically you have the options of a chocolate chip cookie or a blondie. From time to time the restaurant will offer a "special" dessert (there was a tasty pot de creme a couple of weeks ago), but they never stay around and you have to be pretty lucky to be there when one is offered. For a restaurant with such high quality apps and mains, the limited dessert menu seems like a major flaw. Right now Bistro Nota is very good, really nice, a reasonable option for those looking for some really tasty food. With some attention these two criticisms, Bistro Nota could really elevate itself to something special that would rival anything to be found anywhere in northeast Indiana.
