We just visited Cheddars in Largo on 11-28-18. This location finally reopened recently after closing down for quite some time. The hostess was friendly and seated us within 10 minutes. The inside decor looked similiar with some changes but the overall "Cheddars ambience" is present. Our server Laura greeted us and was attentive throughout our dining experience. We ordered chicken tenders and shrimp. Our food was served in about 10 minutes and did not dissapoint. Huge Cheddars portions, we needed to go boxes. Prices are always fair and competitive. We visited this location about a week ago. This was our first time there and it was FREEZING COLD inside. It made it so uncomfortable we almost didn't stay, but we had already ordered food. It wasn't overly busy when we went, but the service was very slow. Took forever to get our food. read more

Had a group of eight for a birthday get together and the whole experience was awesome. We had potato soup, nachos, chicken strips, and burgers. Not a complaint was heard. I fed my four people for 72 dollars, including a 20% tip. Beer was cold, no wait for seating, and the server was very attentive. this was the best cheddar's i've been to. we usually go to a cheddars in Louisville, but this one is much better. we were seated right away and our server was super friendly. the restaurant was clean and everyone we encountered was very friendly. i definitely recommend this cheddars, our food was hot and really tasty will definitely be back again for sure read more

Cheddar's is really just an Applebee's for retirees. The music is very low, the temperature is cold, the atmosphere is blah and outdated, and the servers dress like penguins. I'm not sure why it gets a high rating though. The food wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't good. My "white fish" tacos (what the hell kind of fish was this even?) were as bland as could be. To make it more boring they were served on a plate, no garnish, and the only thing that came with it was a side of my choice, none of which went well with fish tacos. The Baked Potato soup was pretty good, that's the one I'll give this place. It was simple, had the right flavors, and was topped with gooey melted cheese and bacon just like I would hope. My Wife and I dine here at least once a week. We have been loyal patrons for several years and the more times you go here, you kinda figure out the crowd problem. On Fridays, especially after 5:00pm this place rocks.I think all the mobile home residents empty out and hit here right smack at 5:00pm,then the after work folks hit.On Sunday's,right after church,11:00am is another busy time. Unfortunately there are no reservations,so you have to get creative. You can sit in the lounge,which is first come/first served(the table may still be messy from the last persons there..but what the hell, at least you do not have to wait an hour for a table!) OR you can sit at the outside patio (again conditions are about the same as the lounge), and the only drawback here is you have to deal with the smokers.These 2 options are available as the wait times can get up to near 1 hour for inside dining. Now the food. Lot's of food for a little price. My faves are the Talapia Alexander,Blackened Catfish dinner,Shepherds Pie,and the Buffalo Style Chicken Tenders.The servers really bust their asses and earn their pay. It makes sense that sometimes when it gets busy that the food takes a little longer to get to you,that's why you load up on the appetizers...chips and spinach queso dip I recommend,or the chicken caesar pasta salad served with a glazed croissant. Went in for first time over the holidays and was happy with overall visit. Atmosphere is similar to a Longhorn with two dining rooms and a separate bar area off to the side. Server was friendly and despite being busy was pretty attentive. We ordered an app of their spinach dip which was very good. Our dinners were a good portion and very tasty. I've been to Cheddar's many times but today it really hit me: the food is not good. The dessert? Good. Regular menu? Not good. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Salad and asked for the chicken to be grilled instead of fried. I should have just left it the way it was. The chicken came out lightly seared and with a weird consistency. It was clear to me it was microwaved. Another clue? My friend had a salad with grilled chicken and it looked completely different than mine. Ugh. The rest of the salad was unremarkable. Mainly iceberg lettuce, a mixed shredded cheese, grape tomatoes, carrot shreds, and a ranch dressing that tasted watered down. It was served with a buttery croissant and that was decent. Skip dinner and just go to Cheddar's for dessert. Their Cookie Monster is delicious along with the chocolate cake sundae. read more

The first time we met, I had your potato slices with cheese and bacon for an appetizer. Wow, you really put it on me. You had me at appetizer. Then I got one of your burgers, and some fries on the side. You know the way to my heart, don't you. You made the burger with perfection, and most importantly, with love. I didn't ask to fall in love, heck, I wasn't looking. I just wanted a bite to eat somewhere different and you pulled me in. You made me want you again. The only thing that kept us apart, was your prices. While not bad, I was doing really bad at the time with work and I couldn't afford to keep you happy. We drifted apart, but as time went on, you called for me, you did. You wanted me to come back and see you and see if it was real. So, reluctantly, I did. I came back. We sat for a while and talked. We got to know each other better. We had a couple drinks, a little too much, but we had a great night. You let me have a taste of those ribs, and you changed me. As I ravished your fall off the bone ribs like a savage caveman eating for survival, I realized something. This was real love. I love you. Wow, can't believe I just said that. I do, I really do. I do not know if I ever ate food as good as yours before. Although when you are not around, I do see others, like Mcdonald's and Taco Bell. But they mean nothing to me cheddars. Headed here last night and was psyched to try the food as they brag everything is homemade. Sat down at the bar and ordered a happy hour bud light. I was happy to see that they chill all their glasses (even white wine). My boyfriend and I ordered the Sampler Trio. They let you choose which 3 items you would like: Nachos, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and potato skins. The servers were so friendly and the bartender Kim was great. I was so impressed not only in her bar knowledge but her ability to do service bar, take care of a packed bar and a row of tables. I think most reviews have hit this nail on the head: It's a nice place and decent staff, but there's a reason it's cheap. Food was boring, bland, or coated in dressing. If they can fix the kitchen and get the servers to cheer up a bit, this place could charge more and be totally worth it. We couldn't tell the difference between the salad with ranch and the one with blue cheese. LOL, really? Also, the salads were drenched in the mayo-based sauce they call "dressing". My Philly steak was reasonably well made, but had no seasoning and tasted pretty bland. The other entrees were nothing special. I really like the fruit-infused teas. I suppose it was OK for a lunch spot, but I wouldn't dream of having dinner here. Hostesses were pleasant, we like the restaurant decor. It was a bit of a miracle that the waitress almost cracked a smile when my dad made a joke. She was pretty down-tone, but did an OK job refilling the drinks. I did not know what a Cheddar's was until a year ago. And we are big fans! Great casual restaurant. We usually like the beer on draft along with the chicken tenders and ranch. We have tried the other location in St. Pete and it is a bit more modern than this one, but we still love Cheddars in Clearwater. There is an outdoor waiting space with a nice water fountain. There is outdoor seating for when it is not too hot. The bar is a nice space with a handful of TVs. There are booths, tables and a bar. The actual restaurant has tables mainly. I have yet to try anything there I did not like. My favorite as mentioned above are the chicken fingers, but the fish tacos and salads are good too. Service has been anywhere from good-very good. No complaints. Next time we are in the area, we will likely stop by. read more

Got the chicken Parmesan. Extremely dry, all cheese, almost no marinara. The waitress noticed my unhappiness, and said since it was so dry did I want some sauce? I asked, "Can I?" She said yes. Eventually she brought out a small saucer of marinara, which allowed me to choke down enough to no longer be hungry. Excellent menu. My husband got a parmesan crusted steak and I got chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Both were delicious. Our waitress was on point, checked on us a few times, we didn't have to wait long for drink refills, she was very friendly, etc. We were able to use our coupon for free queso appetizer from my phone which was also delicious. My toddler enjoyed watching the giant sideways fan above us and loved the pond outside when we left as well. The key lime pie was AMAZING. My husband, myself and our toddler split a piece and when it came out it was a very large piece which was awesome (nobody likes a chintzy dessert!). I have never had a bad meal here. My Mom loves this place and the prices are reasonable. Similar to your local Applebee's but the only difference is more care and thought is put into the food. We went out to Cheddars for lunch today. We had a party of 6 & they got us a table quickly. The service was terrific. I ordered the lunch portion of the bourbon-glazed salmon. My 2 sides were carrots & cole slaw. The salmon was perfectly cooked & tasted fantastic. In fact the fish surprisingly rivaled such places as Bonefish. It was so good. The carrots also had a unique & tasty flavor. The only poor tasting food was the cole slaw. It was a soupy mayonnaise-filled bowl of sliced cabbage. I'd return again though. We saw several people ahead of us that were not wearing masks. It is the county ordinance. When I asked the manager, she said she can only offer them, she cannot make people wear them. I just found out it was open again and it sure made mine and my family's Easter just wonderful. I had the salmon and it was to die for. My family had steaks and tilapia with shrimp. I've been frequenting this store for several years now. I was introduced to this chain in Dallas about 15 years ago and was somewhat excited to see it open locally here. I've enjoyed most of the food here and the prices are pretty affordable. However, the service at this location has always been inconsistent. My wife and I went about 2 weeks ago and were seated immediately only to wait another 15 minutes without being acknowledged. We got up and walked out. I would have remarked to the hostess on the way out, but there was no one there either. So, I was hankerin' for the cajun pasta and we went back last night. We were seated immediately and had our drink order placed in less than two minutes. Our food was ordered just a couple of minutes later and our food came out in a relatively quick manner. Our food was good. I enjoyed my cajun pasta very much and my wife had a blackened salmon that she was happy with as well. Since they've opened, I have had a wide variety of service. I've walked out after being ignored a few times. I've had great service many times. I've had mediocre/acceptable service more often than anything. The place always seems to be busy and I've never any issues with customizing orders (get a side of the edamame spice with the fish tacos - for some serous flavor). When we decide that we want to eat at Cheddar's, we always make a back-up plan in case there's a huge line at the door or we get ignored once we're seated. If the service was more consistent on the better side, I'd eat there at least once a week and give them more than 3 stars. Your mileage may vary. read more

This place is very surprising. When you enter it is like entering a much more expensive place. The menu has a decent variety at a price which most can afford. The best appetizer anywhere for the price has got to be the onion rings...you will get enough for a family of four easy for about four dollars. Give this place a chance if your looking for a family dining experience with a high priced atmosphere and very reasonable prices. The only issue we have had in our visits was the air conditioning was broken, but they made the effort to cool it down at a cost of adding a wait instead of putting customers in rooms without any airflow. Placed a $70 to go order, went to pickup and the server spoke with me and sounded confident in which to go spot i was in and then comes out and gave my order away to someone else. Order was supposed to be ready at 645 didn't come out until 655 to the wrong car then at 7 brought me the other cars food. After realizing the mistake she went back inside and didn't come back until 708 asking if I wanted to remake the food. So about a 45 min wait after the original wait time for my order. Pretty ridiculous seeing as curbside was not busy and we clarified the number on the parking spot. Maybe ask the persons name before just giving the food to the car. The server even tried to call the other car back to give me my food. I've ran a restaurant franchise for 5 years now. You can't give food back to someone after they have already taken it.
