First time visiting the Pierogi Grill in Clearwater a couple of weekends ago. We have passed this restaurant for many years and always want to stop but we haven't passed when we were ready for lunch or dinner. This day we stopped for dinner and we ordered Dill Pickle Soup($7.99), Cold Cut Platter for 2 ($11.99) which had Kabanoski Sausage, forest sausage, country sausage, wedding sausage, bread and pickle, and 12 Mix Pierogi Plate ($19.99) which had 3 potato and cheddar, 3 potato and farmers cheese, 3 kraut and mushroom and 3 pork. The food is really really good. We were delightfully surprised at how tasty the Dill Pickle soup is. The Pierogis we ordered pan sautéed and they were all very tasty. The Cold Cuts were all really nice too. The decor is fairly dark in black and dark red with alligator print table and booth coverings. There is also a store inside selling a decent selection of candies, canned goods, sausages and frozen pierogi to take home. Service is friendly and as attentive as we wanted. This is a highly recommended place to experience. We can't wait to return on a future trip to the area. read more

First time experiencing the Pierogi Grill of Clearwater. We were seated upon entry which was nice. Inside of restaurant has a nice dark intimate atmosphere with plenty of decor to observe when dining. The service was sub-par which was disappointing...it wasn't very busy, so the service had no reason to be lacking. Other than that, the food looked and tasted great!! Also, an up-charge of $2.00 to pan fry the pierogi vs. boiling them was strange. I would like to try the restaurant again sometime, because all the food we observed looked delicious!! Hopefully the server will be more attentive next time. read more

Came for dinner and had a great experience. The inside is clean and cozy ambience, they even have a store in the back of the restaurant where you can purchase items from their region. Everything seems very freshly made and larger portions. I got the small salad and was pleasantly surprised at how fresh the Romain and crispy the chicken was. And that is the small portion, I can't imagine a large! I tried the potato and cheese pierogis and they were delish, I also loved the white borsch soup as it reminded me of a potato chowder. Some mentioned things could use more seasoning but overall everything was great and quick service. Expect to pay $20 and more per entree. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Have been wanting to stop forever but the timing never lined up. We went on a busy Friday night and sat at the bar. John did a great job setting expectations with everyone walking through the door (unlike our horrible experience at Seaweed earlier in the week). When you are told a place is busy and there will be a wait, you don't mind. Their drink menu is extensive and they have plenty of wines from which to choose. The menu is a vegetarian's dream and the food beyond delicious. I really can't say enough about the high quality of absolutely everything we ordered. Would return in a heartbeat! read more

Polish food is a little harder to find in this area so I was excited to try this place! The food was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to come back and try some other items. The stuffed cabbage was so well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pierogis were amazing as well, and I loved the caramelized onions on top. The inside has really cool decorations and the lighting is a bit red, which isn't my favorite but makes for a unique atmosphere. The service was the only thing I had a problem with, though I will say it was close to Christmas and very busy. There were only two girls working as both hostesses and waitresses, so it took a very long time to get our drinks and to even be able to order. I understand they may have been short staffed for the holiday, so I'm hoping my next experience has better service! read more

The service is always friendly. The cuisine is unique in the Tampa Bay area. However, with this unique food comes some increased pricing. we have been customers for years but am really disappointed and pissed at the way we were treated. I tried placing a takeout order tonight at 7pm. A girl answered the phone and when I told her I was placing an order, she asked me to hold for a moment. she put the down on the counter and for the next 10 minutes I could heat everything going on but she never came back. I hung up and checked for the next 20+ minutes and it just went to voice mail. My wife and daughter went to the restaurant and not only was the phone still off the hook, there were only 4 tables occupied. When they mentioned that I had been trying to reach them, instead of being apologetic, they were quiet arrogant and when asked if this is how your treat patrons, they said that's not their restaurant. Very disappointed with how this placed continues to decline and will spend our money at places that focus and respect their customers. read more

Have always loved it here. Takes me back home to my family roots. Pierogis with farm cheese are better than the ones with cheddar and red borscht soup is amazing! Little dumplings inside the borscht which takes it a step up then most. Love that everything is as tasteful as it gets without over seasoning or making too salty. Perfect mix and makes me feel at home. Loved the large beer as well. Thankful for the restaurant for staying open later for us to finish our meals. I love when I am a first timer at a restaurant and they go through the menu hitting all the highlights. We started with the potato pancakes and the sausage plate for one. So tasty! We split the sampler entree which had stuffed cabbage, pierogis and sausage with sauerkraut. Excellent! The stuffed cabbage rivals my grandmas! Service was excellent and the restaurant is castle themed which was really fun. There is a market attached to the restaurant so of course we had to grab a few items from there. My God, for the price you pay the portion is almost laughable. I was so disappointed in the portion size but after starting to eat the dessert I was ok with the portion size. I came here with friends a couple weeks ago. Here's what's good: The facility itself has an interesting decor and is clean (as far as I was able to see). The food itself was fairly well prepared, and based on food alone I would tell someone in the area to consider eating there. Here's what could improve: The young lady who was our server was not up to any type of acceptable service par. Her demeanor was one of disinterest in being there. When we ordered beverages she initially told us they were out of soda that day. Ten minutes later she corrected herself and said, "oh, we have soda." Then there was the moment our entrees came out. I ordered pierogis with kielbasa and sauerkraut. The plate came out only with pierogis and kielbasa. I gave her a couple minutes, thinking the sauerkraut was coming out in a separate bowl. When it was clear it wasn't coming, I asked about it and was told by the waitress that they didn't have sauerkraut that day. I let her know immediately that she should have mentioned that when she was taking orders, of course. To be fair about the situation, the server did remove my entree from the bill, but only because I told her I wouldn't pay the full price for it, since they didn't deliver on the dish in its entirety and didn't suggest or offer a substitute. The other concern I have about them as a business is that their food truck wagon/trailer is parked in their lot directly behind the one and only handicapped area. We have a wheelchair guest in our party. We discovered quickly that it made it practically impossible to park. To give point is of reference, we were driving a crossover SUV, as we needed to be able to transport the wheelchair, so not a huge vehicle. Even a crossover can't easily maneuver that space. All in all food quality is good, but service is lacking. Whoever that waitress was, she didn't want to be there and it showed. Also, they really need to move that trailer ... the message obstructing handicapped parking sends to customers is not positive. read more

Authentic and delicious Polish food at this local mainstay along busy Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. Plenty of free parking. The interior is dark, in red and black decor. There's a bar to the left and a row of booths on the right. Service was somewhat slow because only one server was working. She was friendly a.d efficient and food arrived within about 15 minutes of ordering. All orders correct and piping hot. Potato Pancakes are 5" in diameter. Potato shredded and deep fried. Very flavorful albeit a tiny bit greasy. Great to dip in sour cream (and apple sauce, on request). Stuffed cabbage is a huge roll of seasoned ground beef wrapped in a single cabbage leaf and then simmered to perfection. Cabbage is paper thin, beef is juicy and flavorful. The roll is topped with a thin tomato sauce. Pierofies are the star. Perfect half moons of dough, overstuffed and steamed, then sautéed in oil with onions. The dough is chewy and dense. Filling nicely seasoned. Warning - these are filling! The kielbasa is scored and broiled perfectly. The skin is crisp with a righteous crunch to it. Pork stuffing is succulent and earthy. The bed of sauerkraut adds a little acidity to each bite. If you're a kielbasa fan, this is what you're craving. A great stick-to-your-ribs home style meal. Authentic and delicious. read more

We called last night for a catering order for today. Pick up at 1:30. I have to tell you we were so impressed with the way everything was! Food was done perfectly right down to dessert. I've eaten here several times over the past few years. I always come back for the Pickle Soup. I never would have ordered it on my own, but a friend shared with me on my first visit and I was hooked. It's composed of mostly vegetables and pickles, but I'm sure there's at least a meat soup base so; not vegetarian. The pickle flavor hits just the right dill-y note to perk up the lovely veggie soup. Over time, I've also enjoyed many varieties of pierogui, their jaeger schnitzel (yummy gravy) and several kinds of sausage. I've been before and I love coming over here for authentic Pierogi. The food is delicious, but the service is almost always slow. Honest question; Can someone explain the decor? I could be highly uneducated on this topic but it looks like a mix of Egyptian hieroglyphs and Aztec art. As for the picture of the check... is it really necessary to charge $1 for that TINY side of sour cream? That's not even enough for 12 pierogis. Is it also really necessary to charge an extra $2 for pan seared when you're already charging almost $1.50 per pierogi? I love authenticity but not price gouging. The exterior is in dire need of attention, if you didn't look online you wouldn't assume this place is open. I know times have been tough, but maybe consider running specials, not price gouging extras, and making the place more welcoming. read more
