The only reason I'm giving this restaurant three stars is because our waiter was awesome. Everything else, was not so awesome. We should've known as we walked in and the hostess was not very motivated or organized that it wasn't going to be a good experience. Our waiter was super attentive, got our drinks fast, took our order quickly but then food arrived at least 45 minutes later.Husband and son got the chicken fingers and said they tasted old as if they were cooked two days ago. Husband also got potato soup and it tasted as if somebody opened a can of Potato soup concentrate and dumped it in a bowl. My hamburger was not completely well done as I asked. This use to be one of my favorite places. I came for appetizers and alcohol and sat on the deck all the time. The service is garbage now. Waiting an hour for a drink and we didn't even get a water. So here's all our food with nothing to drink. The menu is small and the food is not bad but not worth the experience. No apologies and every time we said thank you when something was brought - the waitstaff just ignored us. Skip it guys. Everyone I come it gets worse so this is my last time. read more

This was my first time eating at Cheddar's. We were seated right away but we waited over a hour 1/2 for our food. I ordered the Monte Cristo-Sandwich with ham, turkey and swiss slices, dipped in an egg/milk mixture and fried to a golden brown, dusted w/sugar powder w/a side of raspberry preserves. I found the sandwich to be a little on the greasy side. I will say they do give you plenty of food so you definitely get your money's worth in that aspect. OK, we get it... every diner and restaurant is having various issues getting back to normal. But, be have been eating at this Augusta Cheddar's about 15 years. An it has been dropping in food quality for the last 3 to 4 years. The wait staff is great 4 to 5 of 5. (Dasa 5/5) But the cooks really need remedial training. A 2/5 at best. The last 3 times they could not seem to cook a Cheddar's Signature meal (chicken strips fries, without making the chicken strips dried out, tasteless and crunchy and the French Fries limp and greasy. Cost of Dinner for 2 and tip: $35+/- In all honesty we can get better Chicken strips for about 2/3's the price at several other restaurants. read more

The table smelled and had to be wiped down with hand sanitizer. We watched table after table sit, get served and leave in the time we were waiting on our food. Service: We ordered food to go to be picked up at 645pm today. My husband parks and waits for a waiter to come out and help him. He said he waited, saw that the waiter saw him, and still didn't come out to help. The waiter's friends pulled up and instead of helping my husband first, decided to come all the way out to keekee and chat with them. The waiter also brought out their food, went back inside and still didn't service my husband. It took another 5-10 minutes after that before another waiter came out to ask my husband was there to pick up an order. Food Quality: I ordered Fried Shrimp, Fries, and Broccoli; my husband ordered Ribs, Corn, and Green Beans. My shrimp was cold, fries were soggy and broccoli drier than sawdust. None had flavor. I did not finish my food-only ate the shrimp. The corn was watery, green beans were dry, and the ribs watery and mediocre. I'm not sure if it's better in-house however I wouldn't be testing this theory. Our friends had raved about the place prior to our visit, so the first meal in Augusta was at Cheddars. The server was very sweet. We arrived late and got our food quicker that the rest of the table (lunch menu gets express service). The value was amazing, a house salad and half buffalo chicken wrap were so filling, I'm sure I could saved half for later (I was really hungry and ate everything for a change). I had my first trip to Cheddars today with my best friend. We pass by it every single day and always have considered stopping by. We went today and it was pretty good. When we arrived, we were not greeted or anything, so we ended up sitting ourselves in the bar area. It took a good five minutes for us to be greeted but the server seemed nice when she did come. We both started with an appetizer of quesadillas & they did not fail us, a solid 12/10. & then I had gotten the standard cheeseburger with a side of mac & cheese which was also amazing. We started frequenting this restaurant more often over the last few months and the food has been very good. However, today we placed a to go order for the New Orleans Pasta dish. The dish is supposed to come with chicken, sausage and shrimp. We also requested extra pasta sauce because the penne noodles absorb much of the sauce before we make it home to eat it. Today the dish came with six shrimp, two pieces of sausage, and no chicken. I moved the pasta around to see if I could find any chicken to no avail. I also did not receive any extra pasta sauce as I requested which means that the noodles are slightly dry. We have ordered this dish several times in the restaurant and as to go and have not had this experience until today. Since my spouse has a seafood allergy, we asked that the shrimp be eliminated from the dish and add extra chicken and sausage. The server stated that the sausage could not be substituted but the chicken could. The chicken was placed on the dish as a whole chicken breast which helps me to understand that there should have been the same chicken in my dish as well. I will not say that I will not eat there again because the food is very good but I will order this dish in the restaurant so I can ask for corrections to the dish while I am dining. read more

I really like cheddars but if you plan on going at 1 o'clock in the afternoon it's not a good choice, I thought I could get lunch in the bar by myself and possibly get in there fairly quick, but I was wrong. I had a blackened grilled shrimp and fish combo with two sides for under $9. I thought a great deal. Flavor was good. Portions were larger then expected. The meal in Maryland would be $18-$21. Daughter had a mm Cajun Pasta. Similar to Ruby Tuesday's but the flavor was better. Also more shrimp and sausage in the meal here. Cost $10. Again like $18-$20 at Ruby Tuesdays. My parents and I stopped in for lunch and had a good experience. It's been a while since I've been here as the last experience wasn't great, but it's looking like they've improved. We had a short wait of around 5 minutes and were seated. The menu had a ton of options so everyone should be able to find something. I started with the spinach dip. It was ok, nothing special but wasn't bad. They do give you a lot of it which is good. For my entree I went with the Cajun pasta which was pretty good. They give you a ton of pasta. I wish the pasta to meat ratio was better but that's my personal preference. Our waitress was really good and kept checking on us. The prices are cheap for the most part here. Good service from the bar staff. They got my drink and meal fairly quick and were polite I ordered the New Orleans pasta and it was not good. The pasta comes out in a huge bowl that is big enough to feed three people. It's extremely cheesy , like eating Mac and cheese with lumps of sausage , chicken and shrimp. The sausage and chicken are tough to chew on and luke warm. The pasta is bland and all you can taste is the cheesy sauce. I thought that "New Orleans" pasta would have some Cajun seasoning or a little bit of spice. But this had none of that Some of the other food looked pretty good. My food was good,had the 6 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and carrots. The potatoes and carrots were cold but I didn't send them back as it would be an hour before seeing it again. This has got the be the worst restaurant in America the device was less than acceptable. The server was less than able to meet our needs so we experienced slow to non existent service. Ask another server for the manager after we did not see our server for more than 29 minutes. He came to the table showing enthusiasm to correct the issue but Caleb did not deliver in his promise to ensure that we were taken care of. I was waiting for a to go coke from the manager and Caleb never returned. I will be writing the corporate office ASAP. Not to mention that you are in a military town and you don't offer a military discount. Not s deal breaker. BEWARE OF THESE CROOKS This establishment is an absolute joke. For starters, the service is absolutely atrocious. Not only does it take forever to get food, my airhead waitress (an older woman named Dawn) was thoroughly incompetent. She did not bring out two parts of my order. Considering how long it took to get PART of my food, I figured it wasn't worth it to wait any longer for the stuff she forgot. The food overall was meh, nothing to write home about. It took 30 minutes to get the bill and they had the audacity to charge me for food they never brought. Once I pointed this out to Dawn, it took her ANOTHER 30 minutes to "get a manager to take it off the bill." As atrocious as it was (the meal took 2.5 hours), she got a standard 15% tip. Fast forward two weeks later when I take a look at my bill, turns out Dawn decided to ignore the amount I wrote on my bill and give herself a 33% tip on my credit card. I've been here 3 different times and the most recent one was just horrible. They changed their menu and added Shepherd's Pie. It's not a pie at all. It's dog food-like beef with peas and a handful of mashed potatoes and onions on top. Service has always been pretty good, but DO NOT GET THE SHEPHERD'S PIE. What I like: Santa Fe Spinach Dip - cheap, delicious goodness. My sister LOVED this and she hates spinach. Grilled Atlantic Salmon (bourbon glazed) - This one.. was so GOOD. I love salmon and I always have to try it at pretty much every restaurant I go to. Grilled Tilapia With Mango Salsa - The tilapia was.. okay. I never care for it too much, but the mango salsa was very tasty. Not spicy, more on the sweet side. What I don't like: Grilled Chicken Alfredo - super, super salty pasta. Not good at all. Shepherd's Pie - just needed to reiterate. The bar drinks are okay. Their touted drink is the Painkiller, which you're only allowed to order two of. Stopped by Cheddar's while waiting for our room to be prepared at a nearby hotel. We went to the bar and had friendly service. I had the sweet and spicy chicken and shrimp with broccoli with rice. Broccoli was steamed too soft for my taste and the rice was cold but the chicken and shrimp were warm and flavorful. So it was a very uneven experience. 3 stars was because the bartender/server was really attentive and apologetic and the meats were good. Also, my Tito's Tea was pretty good as well. read more

I'm reviewing this from the car after eating here on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was nice but our server/kitchen wasnt prompt at all. We ordered the tortilla soup which was delicious but took 15 minutes to come out. My parents ordered the only two pasta dishes that was on the menu. My father got the baked spaghetti that had to be returned bc it was very bland. My mother ordered the Alfredo that was also bland and was extremely dry. I learned a lesson a while ago to never order pasta from a restaurant that's not Italian. So I ordered the key lime chicken and shrimp that was flavorful and tasty. Other people's food looked plentiful and maybe we made the mistake of asking the waitress what she suggested. I would have liked to give this restaurant a higher rating but the service was soooo bad! Not once did she check up on us (even when she was in our area). My mom got the Apple pie a la modè...that was a cold Apple pie... ass backwards! read more
